The decor is a simple bohemian chic vibe that offered a relaxed ambiance. I received The STRECH 50 massage and added enhancements such a as a scalp massage, eye treatment and more. Noah was my masseuse and he was very attentive to my needs. I workout a lot and am quite tight/tense in my legs, neck and back area. He showed me great stretches to do on my own. Got charged almost $500 for 4 massages in one day and they REFUSED to refund me. Their website NEVER gave me a confirmation for the booking and just continued to spin when I clicked the booking button, so I figured the booking never completed. The worst part was that after I finally got a booking confirmation for another one of their locations (Wicker Park), I went to the massage and started getting phone calls WHILE in the other location, asking if I was coming in for a massage. Once I got out of this location I saw that I had 4 charges for over $100 each on transactions. I called them, thinking that it makes logical sense to get a refund for the multiple false bookings, especially since I never got presented with a confirmation page and also got a massage at a different one of their location. The staff and manager, someone named Emma, was SO rude and didn't even seem to care that they charged me almost half my rent for massages that didn't even get verified. They kept saying the cancellation policy wouldn't allow for refunds, but how can I cancel something I didn't even get a confirmation for? I was trying to have a relaxing Saturday and this just ruined my whole week. I do not recommend supporting this business as they don't care about their customers and especially don't care about kindness. read more

I am a member of the now and have been pleased until today. My appointment was for 10am and the guy that I originally scheduled called off at 10am. The young lady at the desk was kind and found someone else. I should have received an 80 minute massage he only gave me a 60 minute massage. I had Heat Therapy and deep tissue as add extras and he only did one round of heat therapy on my back. He did not massage my hands or feet, he said that was reflexology and he was not trained in that area but he would do it next time. The young lady at the desk did not charge me for 2 heat therapy or deep tissue but honestly, I should have been given a complimentary massage. He cut my massage short, did an incomplete massage and was not great in the neck and shoulders area. I left a massage parlor still needing a massage!! Considering cancelling my membership! read more

This place is definitely a vibe! I felt like I was at some sort of retreat. I wish I took pictures! Was asked if I wanted water as soon as I walked in. I had Chandler as my masseuse and she asked if I had any concerns before we began. I let her know I recently injured my knee and since I have been having sciatic nerve pain. Boy did she work on my right side! She dug in and it was a good hurt. I have been to massages where I felt like they were just lightly petting me and it did nothing for me. I felt great after this massage though. Chandler even told me what needed to be worked on, which was extremely helpful. I am really thinking about getting the membership! The only thing that could of been better is, it was pretty silent the beginning of massage, there was no soft ocean sounds or music. It did turn on mid massage, but would of definitely been nice to have for the full 80 minutes. pros: GREAT stretch massage from Tetteh, natural spa aesthetic was cool, loved the sound of waves. cons: My therapist was running late so my service started late & ended up being 70 minutes instead of 80 minutes. I was supposed to have a female therapist and got a male one. A couple came in for a couples massage and their therapist had called in sick so only the woman got a service, so these issues might have been abnormal and due to people calling in sick, etc also: There's no locker room or other amenities so if you're looking for a "spa day" type experience this isn't the place, but the massage was very good if your body needs it. read more

Was a very relaxing experience with Kharis. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to de-stress and the ambiance is really very mellow and welcoming. The only minus would be the Enhancements , which I felt was too short of a service. I got the coconut oil scalp massage which was over before I could relax. Was my 2nd or 3rd time going. Love the ambiance which is why I give 2 star. But my first time going it was ok. Got a young lady who did her best. Not the best pressure or techniques but I gave her a chance she was nice. Then one friend gave me a birthday gift to go back. It was still just ok. But i went because i had a gift card. This time I went for my bday because they had availability for the day and time I need. My mom wanted to tag along so I got her one too. It was very confusing at the front desk when they got our information in. But we then went to get our massage stretch. It was terrible. I seriously could have let my 3 year old rub me down better than what I got. And i had absolutely no stretch at all. The young lady was nice but I can tell she had no experience. My mom and I met each other at the front to pay and as we left out, we both said it was terrible at the same time. My mom said her therapist was rude to her when she asked to be stretched. I was super pissed about that because I saw the young therapist staring at my mom after the session as if she was waiting for a tip when the gratuity was already in the balance and I am wondering did she think my mom would complain because of how rude the therapist was to her. I now believe this is a place where they just do not have good therapists. I will not be returning to the NOW, just wanted to leave my 2 cents in hopes that many won't waste money. This is not the cheapest place but I have paid less for way better services in the past. This place has potential just need better experienced and professional therapist. read more

Worst experience ever. Room temperature is low. The therapist's hands are cold. I understand that therapist can have an emergency but they should have told me before but not 10 minutes after the message start. The therapist left balm on my back and leave. i want to start by saying i never take time to write reviews. the atmosphere of the NOW is very relaxing. it smells great, they have waves playing, & it's dark & cozy. i've gone to Jen a handful of times and she is the absolute BESSTTTT. i don't say that lightly. literally the best massages i've ever had, i leave feeling refreshed & relaxed. she also always remembers me, something that not every therapist there has. she's careful to keep me covered on the areas she's not working on so i don't get cold. and she always is checking in to make sure the pressure is good & that i'm doing okay. again, book her she's wonderful!!!!! i'm only giving 4 stars because i would not recommend the membership. it sounds really nice, and i definitely fell for it but as someone who doesn't regularly get massaged, i found it hard to schedule them regularly. when i asked to cancel my membership, it was difficult to do so, and i had to wait for a manager to reach out to me. i was also charged another month because there's a 30 day notice you have to give them before cancelling. despite not loving the membership, i will 100% return to the NOW and pay full price to see Jen. just personally, didn't like being tied down to going monthly with the membership. read more

My massage was wonderful. Ammie is awesome. I will request her services again. This was my first time at the Now, even though I have had massages for years. The entire experience was good. I do not like complaining or leaving negative responses, but I must say one thing. I did not love the checked-out process. My treatment was publicly announced out loud so that people in the waiting room could hear. That alone, is not so awful; but it is still my business. However, what's worse is that I was asked, in a loud voice, how much gratuity that I wanted to leave, and then the amount was repeated out loud, after I said it in a soft voice. The check-out desk is far enough away from the seating area so that no one can hear what is being said if spoken in a normal inside voice (unless someone is really, really trying to hear). This made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I always tip, at least 20%, but that is not the point. What I choose to tip or not to tip is very much my personal business. My husband suggested that I should have spoken-up and addressed the issue right then and there. But the lady had been so nice upon checking-in, and my experience had been so good, that I really did not want to end on a negative note. Also, I gave her the benefit of a doubt and thought perhaps she did not know any better. At any rate, I will go back because my treatment was absolutely wonderful and that's why I went. Perhaps, if it happens again, I will speak-up. read more
