This restaurant appears to be a classic old school hang out. It's very fun inside, with old photos and game heads hanging on the walls. The service was very friendly and attentive. They make a good martini, and at first I thought it was very small but then they returned with the rest of the shaker to keep the martini cold, so that was fun! We started with the potato skins, and they were really good! Haven't had those in forever. For my main course I had the wagyu smash burger with onion rings. Both were delicious and perfectly cooked. Two people had the ribeye and the fourth had the lamb chops. Everyone was very happy with their food, and the prices are very reasonable. Definitely a fun place for a nice, yet casual, dinner.

We arrived for some birthday brunch right when they opened. We sat at a booth and the server came to get our drinks. He gave us some time to discuss the menu amongst ourselves and decide what we'd order. I'd never ordered Eggs Benedict and was feeling a bit bold. My friend ordered the omelette with sourdough toast. They have a brunch menu and brunch drinks. Unfortunately, this location didn't have the amazing chilaquiles like the Goleta location but it was all right. We were content with our meal and left with full stomachs.

Service was outstanding. It was really busy but the hostess did a great job finding us a table. I'm a big fan of Buffalo Wings and I can see why these wings are so highly recommended. The gluten free buns and pasta is a definite plus. They have a great variety of steaks and wine. Tough call and went for the Parmesan Crusted Salmon special. Was amazing. Prices were reasonable for such great old school ambiance, service and food.

We were in Summerland and wanted something to eat. We wandered into the nugget. You truly are stepping back a little bit in time. The walls are covered with photos license plates, even a saxophone reserved for President Clinton and a photo of him eating there. You find posters of Ronald Reagan and photos of him eating there. The food is hamburgers, seafood salads chili I ordered Patty melt on great rye bread and with an amazing amount of french fries. It was about 16 or $17. My friend had a hamburger with fries for 13 so extremely reasonable they will be opening a new location in Carpinteria soon about a month from now And I can't wait to try it. Our service was very good quick and friendly parking is on the street and after your lunch, I suggest walking and seeing the various antique stores, our galleries and brand new bookstore called godmothers, which was fantastic.

I didn't know about this little strip of shops off Lillie Ave in Summerland. But Yelp, you led me here for a burger. The nugget is a bar with inside dining and an outdoor patio in front. I came in a Saturday afternoon and the bar was packed and several inside tables were full. I waited at the host desk as I wasn't sure if I had to notify someone that I wanted to sit outside. The hostess came along and lead me outside. I was immediately helped by my server that took my order and brought me water quickly. I ordered the Ortega Chili Pepper Jack Burger and I added sweet potato fries. The food was perfect! The sweet potato fries were hot and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They served them with ranch; which I love because I usually have to ask for ranch at other places. The burger was easily one of the best burgers I have ever tried. It was grilled juicy, flavorful with slight pink in the inside. I loved the massive chili pepper that was sliced in half on top of the cheese. The only thing that made this experience a 4 was that my server not once came back to check on me or the table next to me (he was also their server). I had finished my water halfway through my burger and would have liked more and after waiting for about 15-20 min of being done with my meal, I flagged down the hostess to ask for a to-go box and that I wanted to pay my check. I am not sure what happened there with the server. Maybe he was on break but it was disappointing to not have someone check on me. I would still recommend this place and I would still come back because the burger was epic. But I hope that the servers would up their game a bit.

Many many years ago I stopped at the Nugget in Summerland and tried their Bloody Caesar. It is by FAR my favorite, and I literally stop every time I go by the Nugget on the 101 - whether that's driving up the coast, down the coast, or both. I've enjoyed the food, and the atmosphere - even had my 50th birthday here ... Pictured is "Z" - an amazing bartender that checks all the boxes - nice, attentive, good conversation and can make an epic bloody caesar. A great spot to stop when driving the coast! Highly Recommend.

Came here on New Years Eve with the hubby. We love the decor and the food! Awesome looking cowboy bar with animal heads on the way. The bar was awesome with extensive spirits. The food was so good and great portions. I got the steak and my husband got the ribs. The ribs were so tender they fell off the bones. The mash potatoes were so flavorful and the veggies still had a bite to them and so much flavor. Would recommend for anyone whether with friends or kids to come here. Service was amazing as well.

There is nothing like a nice glass for your wine.

Ask the Community - The Nugget

Do I need to make reservation for party of 2 on Sunday September 5?

A little late to the game here but I'll answer for those who may be curious in the future; seating is first come first served and no reservations are accepted. That being said, seating is ample so the wait is usually not too long.

Do they have outdoor seating now?

    Yes they do.

Sweet Granddaughter to the place on a Saturday as summer is winding down. Am not sure if there's been a change of ownership, but there did seem to be a change of results of the experience of visiting. Noting that in a previous review I mentioned live music. Several other reviewers did, too. When we were there this past weekend in the early afternoon, there was no music to be found. We caught the ordering line at the right time; it wasn't too long and it didn't take but a few minutes to get to the counter. After that, it went downhill to some extent. The main disappointment was the food. I mean, it's a restaurant, right? That's kind of the point. The ambiance is still fun - beachy casual, like you're a guest at a private beach club. But the food used to be much, much better. I made the mistake of ordering the tri-tip sandwich. It was served with grilled onions and smothered in BBQ sauce. It would normally also come with cheese, but I had that left off as cows' milk cheese and I do not get along. I would have much preferred to leave out the BBQ sauce and have au jus on the side instead to let the flavor of the beef come out. Alas, that's not an option. There wasn't anything else on the menu speaking to me at the time, or I could have / should have ordered something else. I thought about the fish tacos, but I'm not a huge fan of cabbage. In any event, the tri-tip was cut too thick. That made it tough to bite / and overly chewy. To the point where it wasn't a happy eating experience. I only finished half the sandwich and gave the rest to DH to eat later. I didn't choose to add any fries or onion rings as I wanted to give fried foods a rest. So I had half a sandwich, and half a very overpriced and underwhelming chocolate chip cookie for dessert. For me, the food was bordering on a failing grade. Barely a "C". DH, on the other hand, really enjoyed the fish and chips he'd ordered. I had a bite, and while the fish was really fresh, the batter coating was undercooked, which made for a mushy exterior texture. It was also extremely greasy. SG ordered her favorite meal of chicken nuggets and fries. She'll never turn down fries, so that made her happy. The chicken pieces were not that flavorful, and not that great a texture, either. We also spent the meal dodging ants which were running over the picnic tabletop. A tabletop which looked like it hadn't been cleaned by human hands in a very, very long time. Which likely explains why the ants thought it was fair game - they were on the hunt for missed crumbs. I can bet good money that when we ask SG if she remembers eating at Padaro Beach Grill, she will recall that it's the outdoor place where the ants were trying to eat our food. There aren't enough umbrellas for all the picnic tables, and there's not really any other source of shade on a warm, sunny afternoon. We were lucky enough to get one of the lawn-area tables with an umbrella, but we ended up feeling crowded when mid-way through our meal, a group of seven people took over the adjacent table. By then, we were ready to finish up and go. In past visits, lingering and enjoying the tropical vibe was part of the experience. Not during this last visit. A shame.

Nuzz really enjoyed the bacon. The POTATOES though!! So good. Thinly sliced, thicker than a potato chip, perfectly salted and super crispy. The side portion was generous too. Our total was about $53 for the avocado toast with add-ons, potatoes, cold brew, water and tip. I'm glad we shared because that felt pretty steep for one breakfast! We only went because we needed somewhere to get lunch for a party of six on Thanksgiving Day and the first couple places we thought to call were closed. We said we'd be there in about half an hour and asked if we should make a reservation, and the person on the line said there was no need, as we should be able to walk in. I was pretty annoyed when we showed up as promised and the restaurant was completely full. Like I understand that the staff can't predict what will happen between noon and 12:30 on Thanksgiving Day, but this did seem foreseeable, and they should have taken our name down since we'd told them we were coming. I told the host what had happened, and she just kind of smiled and acted like she hadn't heard me. No apology, and we waited, with two young kids and their grandparents, for forty minutes. Service was fine once we sat down, and the patio setting was nice. The menu was basic California coastal, nothing exciting but something for everyone. I got the Central Coast Cobb, a hearty salad with Santa Ynez greens, grilled organic chicken breast, crispy bacon, Munak Ranch soft boiled egg, avocado, tomato, goat cheese, and honey dijon vinaigrette. I liked it, and it kept me full enough until Thanksgiving dinner. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back to the Revere Room, which feels like it mostly exists to feed hotel guests. I'm quite uncomfortable that they were perfectly fine with accepting my order meaning I was obligated to pay the money, but they were not comfortable communicating ahead of time that their policies might deter my patronage today. At least their staff was communicative. I would've been inclined to come back next time Also, the first time I was "warned " was being told I just needed to turn it down, which I obliged to. My phone was at the lowest setting and was against my ear for a majority of the conversation, quieter than most of their other patrons. It didn't seem like I disturbed any of their other patrons, and I was not told that I disturbed any of the other patrons, so I find it hard to understand why my business call was this much of a disturbance. I just think it's a little weird that I was able to order a drink, appetizer, and meal on the phone with my team, and get a client on the line before they eventually told me about this so-called policy. Put it on your website, on your Yelp, and on your entryway if it's that big of an issue. Again, I'm happy to follow the rules as long as it's fair. This feels very arbitrary, possibly even prejudice against my tattoos and unkept hair from the beach. I would've appreciated being turned away before they were happy to accept my money and disturb my meeting beyond repair.

The fish tacos were good too, but the pictures seemed to have included three tacos and we only got two. The rent here must be insane and I get it if they can only serve two, but as a customer it was a let down to be paying $24 to end up getting less food. Nice service, but waiting time took a while and it was not very busy.

We visited Carpinteria for the first time as a little summer escape from the heat in Simi Valley,…read moreand after arriving hungry, we came across this place. What a great find! The restaurant was busy, with tables pretty much full both inside and outside, but luckily we were able to get seated without a wait. I ordered the fish tacos, my son had the linguini pomodoro, and my wife ordered the cioppino. Everything was delicious. The seafood tasted incredibly fresh, and the fish in the cioppino was so tender it practically melted in your mouth. The broth was rich and savory--maybe a little on the salty side, but we still really enjoyed it. The service was another highlight. Everyone was kind, friendly, and welcoming, and you could tell the staff was working hard to make sure everyone had a good experience. I also really liked how diverse the menu is. There are plenty of choices for different tastes, whether you're in the mood for seafood, pasta, tacos, or something else. Overall, this was an awesome first experience and a great discovery during our trip to Carpinteria. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town, and we're looking forward to trying more dishes from the menu!

Unfortunately, after giving Teddy's by the Sea multiple chances, the problems have become too consistent to overlook. We've had repeated issues with online orders--food mixed up or not prepared the way we ordered it. On one occasion, we even found a piece of plastic in our lobster mac and cheese. But the most frustrating issue has been the completely inconsistent closing time. They advertise that they're open until 8:30 PM, yet we've shown up as early as 7:40 PM and been told they're already closed. This hasn't happened just once--it's happened to us multiple times. We really used to enjoy coming here, but between the order mistakes, the plastic in the food, and never knowing whether they'll actually be open during their posted hours, we've finally given up. If you advertise that you're open until 8:30, customers should reasonably be able to expect you to be open at 7:40.
