While the food was extremely good, the service was severely lacking. We were seated at 1:40p and did not get our food until 2:28. Once we finally received our food, my son's burger was not made to order. We also ordered dipping sauce for the fries which never came. The fries were an additional dollar to the burger and there was only a few on the plate as you can see in the photo. Additionally, my water was empty and never filled once during our time at the restaurant. Another waitress did see that my son's water was empty and came and filled his glass. Not one apology was given for the extreme delay in our food and excuses were made when I pointed out that our orders were not given correctly. Unfortunately, as lovely as I thought this restaurant would be, and we went out of our way to stop here on our road trip back home, we will not be returning. How do we received a sincere apology along with some sort of compensation or maybe a nice complimentary dessert, this review would have been quite different. Nothing makes my heart happier than when I hear people express their happiness for their job. We hadn't been sitting down 5 minutes yet, when we overheard Michael, who I believe might be owner/server/bartender express how he loved what he did. This ended i[ being obsivous, once we were served. We had two delicious cocktails, followed by the crabstack and the seafood fondue. All were yummy, our only suggestion, was possibly using different crackers for the stack. We were thinking water crackers might work better, as the crackers we were given kept falling apart. After my first visit, in won't be the last. Came in for an early lunch and the service and food were great. Ordered two bloody Mary's, which I am very picky about this drink, and it was the best I've had in the area. We also had the crab melt and pretzel burger with fries and wedge salad. This is one of the restaurants where the chef knows how to cook but it is a little pricey for their portions. One thing I do not like is they only offer real meal after 4 o'clock. Breakfast here at 1pm. Waited and waited for server to take order. She brought our waters, why did she not take our order then? I went up and voiced complaint. 40 mins later and we are still waiting for our meal. We won't be back for breakfast. Two stars instead of one because we've been here in evening several times and there's been no problems like this. Update: The owner reached out to me the same day. He is doing all he can to rectify this problem with staff in a weekly meeting. This has become our favorite place to go to in Longview. The service is always as-good or better than anywhere we have been locally. The cocktail selection is a highlight, the beers on tap are average, and the food is above average. We usually get the French onion soup and the fondue, and choose a main course, but sometimes the weekly specials convince us to try something different. The food isn't fancy, but presentation is very nice, and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality. The burger and sandwiches were good and the bread appeared to be homemade: very nice bread. The seafood fondue was very good, a nice appetizer to share. The wedge salad was particularly attractive with a creamy sauce and reduced balsamic drizzled over the iceberg wedge. Finally, the Mt. Saint Helens cake was fantastic. The toffee crumbles (again homemade I think) were delicious and a clever addition to a chocolate lava cake to give the appearance of the famous mountain. Been frequenting here for years and unfortunately the service and food quality remain inconsistent. What I like: premium liquor options, they create their own liquor-infusions and you have the option for espresso. Outdoor seating fire pits and ambiance. What I do not like: Poor service, employees have a lack of knowledge for liquor, food items and other drinks. Plates are inconsistent - I believe this is because the cook(s) are not provided enough guidelines in what they should and should not put together. I normally find small hairs in my food - yes this has been brought to the attention of the waitress each time. Quality of food has significantly decreased. I have never had a bad experience here! The last time I was in one of the waiters noticed I didn't drink my buttered rum (or whatever it was called) drink. I let him know I just wasn't a fan but was totally prepared to pay for it as it was just my personal taste. He comped the drink which was unexpected but also very sweet! The salads are always an excellent choice! My best friend and I go here every few months so we get the exact same order every time. We love it. Nice selection on the menu and decent prices. Seafood fondue had good flavor, and plenty of bread to dip in it. Pumpernickel and sourdough were nice choices. "Curry soup" is a very mild vegetarian Thai red curry; a nice soup if not inspired. The Mt. St. Helens "volcano cake" has a lovely presentation (heath bar topping is a nice touch), but the cake itself is pre-fabbed defrosted fare and has no flavor nor lava (it's cooked all the way through). Nice atmosphere, although the waitstaff do not know their menu or recipes very well - when asked "what kind of curry?" the response was, "Orange!" If we're back in the area, we'll probably drop in to try the flatbreads, but we'll leave the dessert menu alone. read more
