This restaurant is right on the El Medano Beach in Cabo San Lucas. Our cruise ship stopped here and we were walking around. Found this restaurant and decided to have some drinks and snacks. The waiters were very accommodating and gave us a front row table with really nice views. It's an open restaurant with umbrellas for shade. Noticed that the prices here were quite high, about same as U.S. A whole 1Kg red snapper was 1135 pesos (about US$64) while it was only 415 pesos (about US$23) at a waterfront restaurant in Mazatlán. We ordered a Grilled Fresh Sea Bass Tacos and a Shrimp Tacos with Cheese. Three tacos to each order. Fish quality was excellent. I liked that the fish in the fish tacos was not deep fried. Shrimp Tacos were very tasty also. They were served with chips and salsa and rice. Two orders of tacos and four drinks (a Coke, a beer, a lemonade, and a margarita) came out to US$80 before tips. Because we heard it was the new "it" place, me and my bestie bellied up to the bar for a couple of ranch waters. It was definitely very busy and buzzing on a Wednesday afternoon. Colorful, lots of umbrellas and our drinks were pretty decent. Service was great...a little on the pricey side, but overall we were glad to have made the sandy stroll from the Marina to give them a try. Came here with my friends off the cruise ship while in Cabo San Lucas. Although this place is walkable rom the main pier (over a mile walk) the fastest way to get here is by Water Taxi that costs $5 one way. My first time here, one thing that was immediately noticeable is the number of vendors on the beach, offering various merchandise, massage services, and photo ops with exotic animals, which can be annoying while you dine. The restaurant has an open concept, with lots of beach umbrellas for shade. Ordered chips and salsa with guacamole, agua chile, red snapper, queso fundido chorizo, burritos and tacos. Our server, Rogelio was very attentive, even made sure we were in good hands as his shift was ending. Food was ok, lots of leftovers; they even allowed us to stay while we got massages on the beach. When we were done, we ate again, even gave us some fresh tortillas. Because the restaurant has an open concept, that means there are lots of flys hovering over your food. They do place like a sterno type jelly that went fire lit, functions as a fly repellent. The servers constantly bring new ones when they fire goes out. Review for dinner on a Friday night The food was alright. The tortilla soup was the consensus favorite which isn't saying much for the sea bass and ceviche and calamari. Ceviche was standard but the fish was overcooked. Calamari was rubbery and served cold. We came here on an overcast day and the vibes were amazing, no umbrellas opened so you could see, not as many people, and a rainbow appeared during our dinner. It did get crowded later on and pretty loud with the tequila guy blowing his whistle but it is a part of the vibe I suppose. Water is stupid expensive (not here but everywhere)...so bring your own or drink alcohol instead! My wife, I, and our three children visited the office for lunch. We inquired with the host about making a reservation for a table, and he informed us that they do not accept reservations. We responded by saying, 'OK, we will go swim in the ocean and return.' Approximately an hour and a half later, we returned, and I was greeted by the head waiter wearing a pink sash, who identified himself as the general manager wearing a pink skirt. He asked me, 'Do you have a reservation?' I replied no and explained that the host had informed us that they do not take reservations. He countered, 'No, you must have a reservation.' I clarified that this contradicted the information provided by the host at the entrance. He responded, 'If you do not like it, you can go elsewhere.' My wife and our three children witnessed this exchange and became extremely uncomfortable and frightened. Another gentleman intervened and offered to seat us, although not in the front section, citing that numerous tables were reserved. A gentleman wearing a pink sash claimed that those tables were already occupied. It appears that the establishment prioritizes patrons who are willing to spend between $200 to $300 on food, rather than those who may only order a drink. I will not return to this establishment again. If Edith, the owner, were aware of the treatment we received, she would likely be displeased. As a long-time customer who has referred hundreds of patrons to their business, I will no longer continue to do so. Negative reviews and word of mouth can significantly impact their business. I will also be contacting Edith personally about this. I also want to talk about our waiter Samuel, which was absolutely amazing. He took care of us graciously and was very respectful. read more

Dining on the beach made for a fantastic family brunch. Some blogs disavow The Office as a 'tourist trap'. Yes, it's catered towards tourists and pricey. BUT - it's totally worth it. Delicious food, amazing Medano Beach views and attentive service. You literally dine on the sand. The only thing we didn't enjoy was having a table on the edge of the dining area, closest to the beach. While having the best views, we also got the most attention from people selling souvenirs on the beach. It was constant. Another great perk - The Office offers valet parking. At no cost, other than tip for the Valet, you can get cheap and easy beach parking. We had brunch, then spent several hours on the beach without issue. This is my second time coming to office on the beach. Overall the service was okay. Some of the staff hustled around getting things done. The food was great right up until my daughters Ribeye steak. I asked for Medium and the outside was 100% medium but the middle was literally moo'n. To their credit they did offer to cook it some more but as you can imagine, after waiting 15 mins for someone to stop by and looking at the blood my daughter lost her appetite. I thought they would remove the item, or at the very least provide some form of credit. But nope, charged the entire $90 for the steak, which is insanely high. The shrimp and fish were good. Definitely a touristy dinner but it's worth doing at least once while in Cabo. We made a reservation for a Thursday evening which is when their Mexican fiesta show takes place. We sat in the sand and all of the colorful decor was beautiful. Vendors are stationed along the beach but are roped back and the staff did a great job of making sure they didn't interfere with people's meals. The service was incredible. They made our guac, Mexican coffee and banana foster dessert all tableside with a show involved. The Mexican fiesta show involved a Mariachi band, traditional Mexican dancers and tons of audience participation. This place is perfect for a bachelor or bachelorette dinner. Thankfully, we made our reservation for 5:30pm (in hopes to see the sunset, which you can't see from the restaurant so skip that) and were not rushed. I had the sea bass with vegetables (can't remember the official name) and it was delicious; flavorful and the portion was huge! My father has the coconut shrimp and my mom had the fajitas and they both enjoyed their meals. Dinner is a little pricey but for the entertainment, service and the ambience, it's definitely worth it! Yesterday, the family and I left the comfort of Carnival Panorama behind and made landfall in Cabo San Lucas. This is about our third or fourth time on this particular cruise so we decided to do our own thing. We arrived in port shortly after eleven. As we were leaving the dock, we were heckled by people offering water taxi services. Being the obvious tourist we are, we shelled out $18 for a water taxi. Not including the tip for the driver, his helper, and the guy on the beach that holds your stuff as you get off the boat. Free enterprise at its best. We arrived a little before noon after making an appointment for a massage at the Sand Bar a few doors down. The Office was busy. To be expected being that it is the most popular restaurant in Cabo and the weather was incredible. We waited about twenty minutes for a table on the beach. FYI-Don't waste your time with a table in the bar area. You won't get the true Office experience. Hannibal was our server and did an incredible job. He was friendly and funny and just added to our experience. The menu is pretty extensive. If you want a cheeseburger, they got it. We decided to go the more traditional route and started things off with the chips, salsa, and guacamole. The salsa and guacamole were incredible. I'm changing my guac recipe at home to see if I can match The Office's, but probably never will. For my main dish, I ordered the lobster tacos which were light and flavorful. They were a little messy to eat, but with it. The Mrs. had the fajitas which obviously rivaled any we can get at home. Kiddo ordered the chicken tacos and to drink she guzzled down two Cokes. The Mrs. and I had Margaritas because you can't visit Mexico and not have one. The tortillas used in our meals were homemade which, combined with rich flavors and textures, really added to the flavor profile of each dish. I would advise you to take regular taxi back to port rather than get ripped off be the water taxi people. The valets at The Office will gladly call one for you and the ride is $15. read more

Came to The Office on the Beach to celebrate a birthday with a big group of ladies and it was my favorite spot of the week! We went to some really fancy restaurants, but the colors, decor, beach, live music and everything was so fun here! The service was amazing and the waiters were very attentive to our needs. They made extra efforts to work around some of our allergies and brought a cake and birthday shot for the birthday girl and took photos of us to purchase. Anyone that walks the beaches of (downtown) Cabo will most likely have to stop and eat at The Office. Touristy yes - but the beachy vibe, colorful decor, flowing alcohol at the bar and even the name are immediate attractions. The pina coladas were fresh, cold and massive in size served in colorful blue Mexican glassware. The chips were crunchy and thick served with a medium green salsa. The Tuna was thinly sliced and had a surprisingly bit of heat so be careful if you are afraid of spice. This appetizer was huge enough to feed 3-4 people. The server made the table side Caesar dressing for the salad with fresh anchovies. The portion was perfect for one person, simple, green with a classic flavor. The beef and chicken combination Fajitas were flavorful however, there wasn't enough beans on the plate. They offered plenty of corn and flour tortillas so having two options was a nice touch. The best part of the meal was the Tres Leches Cake. Ultra light sponge cake with the perfect amount of sweet milk and frosting in between each layer and plated beautifully.
