Took their dirty dishes, piled it NEXT to our ice creams on the same tray. Really?? How lazy can you be? Yes it's hard work, you gotta hustle and keep the standard up! The waiter then passed around the ice creams, and dropped my friend's ic on the dirty tray! And continued to serve it to him. Good thing the friends not picky I guess. I cringed! 2) when the entrees were served, they auctioned off the dishes. 3) the dreamsicle was not an enjoyable beverage at all. What I love about OSP is the familiarity and consistency. Is it "real" Italian fare? Of course not. But is is always the same, and always good? Yes. Fresh hot bread, and it's plentiful. I recently discovered their balsamic for the salad and it's perfect. I either go straight spaghetti with meat sauce or the clam sauce, depending on my mood. Of course, spumoni is a must. The waitress was great but my green salad was soft and brown. The only crunch was in the croutons. The mushroom ravioli was microwaved. My daughter's chicken Parmesan was crap. Her salad was fine because she paid $3.99 to upgrade to Caesar salad. The prices have gone way up, all entrees are $25 except for spaghetti with marinara which was $19.00. We couldn't finish and did not take the leftovers. The bread is still great. TOSF has been stricken from our list, all of them, for life. My daughter loves Mac and cheese there. The train-trolley setup is fun for kids and 3-course meals is definitely everyone's favorite. The service is always quick and welcoming. We often go there a few times a month with friends or by ourselves. I just wish they had more vegetarian options. Though their salad with balsamic vinaigrette is my favorite. Oh! It was our first time here with two young kids and a baby. We were very unfamiliar with the menu. Immediately, the person inside greeted us and found us a table quickly even though it was Sunday. I haven't been in here in ages because the quality just got worse and worse even though we came here quite frequent when I was a kid. Environment: Nothing really changed. They upgraded the arcade area though! Staff: friendly and helpful even though we had a huge party they were patient and kind. Food: My go to as always: 1. Salad with creamy pesto. The portions of the salad was a little bigger than in the past. The creamy pesto was just as good as in the past. Also, did you know you can buy a pint of their creamy pesto as well as their ice creams too?! I bought a pint of the creamy pesto to enjoy back at home haha. -I usually don't like the sourdough bread (I don't like it in general) but this time it was not as sour as before, it was not bad and very fresh 2. My go to is always clam sauce. The quality of the sauce was much better, it had a lot of clam meat and the sauce was plentiful than in the past. The pasta portion was also very good and hearty. 3. Lastly, my go to is spumoni. It was delicious and you can buy a pint or more if you like to bring home too! Sadly, drinks haven't been part of this set anymore. This location's staff is rude and inconsiderate. If you are planning to dine-in with a large group, please plan ahead and put aside about 2 hours- We did have a large group of people, and although we did not have a reservation (due to poor planning on our part), we still were respectful and arrived after confirming that it was not during peak hours. Despite numerous empty tables upon arrival (there were many sections that were completely empty), we still had to wait 45 minutes before being seated, even after informing the staff that seating us separately would be acceptable. Food was selected prior to the event and paid about $10 per person (less drinks). Service was attentive although had to wait between the first and second servicing of items. Food was tasty (lasagna, spaghetti noodles with white & red sauce, large meatballs, salad (Cesar and signature Ranch Dressing), French bread (also had sourdough loaves with butter for each table)). Since I was solo, I sat at the bar.. it took a while for the hosts to come greet me, when I asked if I could sit at the bar, she said she would need to ask the server. Finally I received the go ahead to sit at the bar, so I walked myself to the bar, grabbed a menu and silverware from a table and used that. I ordered the chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and had a house salad with ranch dressing. The ranch dressing was decent, had lots of dried seasoning in it, had good flavor though. Thought of having dinner here, bc i was craving it from my previous experience. Suggested it to my housemate who kindly took us out to dinner. I was initially excited to have my housemate try it for the first time, at the same time thinking about what I would order before we were seated. The server pulled up at a good time, inquired our drink orders, we needed time to select a red wine. I asked if she was familiar with the wines & expressed the taste we were wanting. She recommended the ménage a trois. i asked if we could have a sample of it. She said sure. Upon her return, no sample was brought. (-1pt) My housemate returned with a couple of glasses of the chardonnay from the bar, recommended by the bartender. i asked if he like it. he said yeah it doesn't give that taste he didn't like. glad he liked it. After reading the mixed reviews, I wasn't expecting much, but I was blown away by how delicious everything was: the warm sourdough; the fantastic little salad to start the meal(perfect amount of flavorful balsamic dressing and croutons); the garlic shrimp fettuccine( not too salty& perfectly cooked pasta and shrimp!); the yummy lemon drop which was so strong I ordered a strawberry lemonade to mix it with. I often take my daughter here as she loves the ambience of the place. The staff are generally very friendly, and prompt. I have never had bad service, even when I see they are packed. The servers have always been great about handling rush hours. We generally get seated within 10 minutes of arrival and get a booth if we ask for it. The food is good, and seasoned well, but I wouldn't say I go here for the food. They have the normal options that Italian places offer to include a child's menu. My daughter always gets just plain spaghetti noodles, so you can't really do those wrong. They offer a beautiful cotton candy limeade, but it is just too sweet for me. Prices are amount $17-23 for the staples and more for the stuff with specialty items. I ordered the Chicken with capers, tomatoes and a noodle medley that I don't recall the name. I have been eating at OSF since I was a kid and my dad introduced the frozen drink machine to the founders. And, while the prices have changed over the years, the core menu and the quality has remained the same. I love the soup and the hot bread. I also nearly always order the Italian sausage and meat sauce over spaghetti. My wife ALWAYS gets the gluten free Mizithra Cheese...and loves it. The best thing about this place is their ornate decor, windows, and furniture. The menu doesn't have many things to choose from, but we liked what we got. Prices are typical of other similar pasta restaurants. They give you complimentary bread which is hard and plain, but at least it's hot and the butter is soft, unlike at Pastini. This place is truly nostalgia for me. From the heavy wooden doors to the brightly decorated stained glass to the wooden trolley with seating! This place was always a treat growing up. Went here for a cousin's son's birthday and there were about 20 adults and 7 kids. We had a whole section for the birthday which was nice. The service was slow but on a Saturday night, which is normally busy, I could tell the servers were doing the best they could and were maintaining their composure under a stressful night. Each person ordered and got drinks of their choice, along with the complimentary salad/soup and ice cream at the end. It's a lot of work for the waiters/waitresses to accommodate so many people and there were only two staff members taking orders. Although the wait was long, the food has been always as consistent as it's been in the past. I love their free bread and dessert at the end. OSF is a classic chain Italian restaurant that my family loves to go to for birthdays and celebrations, and we'll keep coming back. Great family-friendly restaurant, good for large groups or small ones. The food is delicious, if nothing too crazy-fancy. Just good, old-school italian-american pasta. The prices are reasonable for the portions, though on the high side generally. You can definitely get a teenager fed here on one order, or 2 small meals for an adult. The manager's special is the go-to: pick a pasta and 2 sauces and you're off! The clam sauce is astonishingly good, but of course my favorite is the meat sauce. The old trolley in the middle of the restaurant is a gimmick, but it's a bit of fun, and lends some childlike wonder to the otherwise very serious, very victorian dining room. read more

Came here for take out today - have to say great job! My wife and I both had lasagna and it was excellent. The salads were about what you'd expect, lettuce cabbage mix, croutons and dressing. Had a reservation for Sat nite 9/17/2022 at 7:15pm and got right in at that time. They were busy in the restaurant and just as busy with lots of to-go orders too. We were seated at a very nice table. We all ordered our favorites: Manager's Favorite with Mizithra & Browned Butter and Mushroom sauce (perfect amount of butter, not swimming in grease) with side of sausage (nice & tender & savory): Pot Pourri (sis's favorite!) and daughter got the Crab Ravioli (ate every bite). Drinks were good: Raspberry Italian soda (clean free glass to take home), glass of house Chianti was very nice, and the pomegranate Long Island Iced Tea was just okay but had way too much iced. Our server Elaine was wonderful, friendly and attentive! Normally we try to go to local places but we were very tired and this was just around the corner from our hotel. And we're glad we did! Let me just say this. Amber, our waitress was amazing. She she took care of my 2 yr old daughter and I. My daughter really wanted to sit in the trolley, in a very busy section for Amber. I have bartended and served for years when I was younger so I know that an extra table in a busy section can be tough to manage. Halfway through dinner my little one had an accident. I panicked. But Amber did not. She politely said to go take care of the accident and she would take care of the table. When I got back to the table a few minutes later the booth was cleaned up. As a parent with a young one it is hard to go out because sometimes accidents do happen. Amber never made me feel ashamed or embarrassed, nor did she show an ounce of frustration. Amber made daddy-daughter date night great and was so understanding, patient, professional and polite. The whole staff was great, from the hostess to other servers and food runners. This restaurant is right down the block from the Marriott so it was a very easy decision to make one we were hungry and tired and didn't have to go far. We walked in to a grand entrance and we were greeted by Lauren, Who was just so sweet. We only had to wait two minutes before our table was ready. We were seated in a very comfortable booth in what looks like an old fashion trolley car. The room is really cool and interesting. Our server was very friendly and prompt. We ordered the spinach and cheese ravioli and the crab ravioli. Our meal came with a soup or salad and ice cream at the end. The salad tasted like it came out of a bag. Very disappointing. However, the minestrone soup was delicious. We were also given a piping hot small loaf of bread. I absolutely love bread but was very disappointed in the lack of flavor. Neither of us finished one piece and it was a shame as the whole loaf was wasted. Both of our meals came lukewarm and we had to send them back. Our server brought us back a replacement that was the right temperature and both dishes were good. If it wasn't for the very good service and the wonderful atmosphere I would probably give this two stars. read more

I am going to say something about the service at this place. So, I have been here quite a few times and there is a big issue here. The people that greet you after you walk in the door always say the same thing if you are there to pick up an order: " your order will be ready in 5 min". What actually happens is that you could wait upto 20 min, and still no food. The problem here is that the greeters don't communicate with the people processing the food orders. Also, your order may or may not exist as well and instead of knowing that soon after you arrive, you will have to wait to find out if you get your food or not.
