The food is so incredibly delicious! Authentic Italian cuisine. Great atmosphere. Slightly dark lighting but great for conversation. Attentive service. The bathrooms are pretty amazing!

Lovely set up for birthday reservation

My partner and I celebrated my birthday at Brooklyn Trattoria, and the entire experience was absolutely lovely from start to finish. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We made a reservation in advance, and they went above and beyond by setting up a cozy booth for us, complete with a birthday card and fresh rose petals--such a thoughtful touch that instantly made the evening feel special.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was fantastic throughout. The staff was warm, attentive, and timed everything beautifully. Our drinks came quickly, and the appetizers were served with just the right pause before the entrees arrived. We started with calamari and focaccia bread. The calamari was a standout--it came with a delicious dipping sauce and was paired with fried green olives and peppers that added a unique and flavorful twist. We loved it. The focaccia was fresh and satisfying as well. (I wish they served balsamic with the bread but that's my only feedback) For entrees, I had the breaded parmesan sole, which was served over a creamy butternut squash orzo--absolutely delicious and a perfect match for the seafood. My partner had the halibut piccata and opted to substitute the asparagus for brussels sprouts. The brussels were crispy, flavorful, and so good that we instantly regretted not ordering them as an appetizer! We also enjoyed some excellent cocktails--balanced, well-made, and tasty. For the quality of food, service, and ambiance, the price felt very reasonable. Two appetizers, two entrees, and two drinks came to around $120. To top off the night, the staff surprised us with a complimentary chocolate mousse for dessert to celebrate my birthday, which was a sweet and generous gesture. The owner, David, was present and welcoming. It's clear he truly cares about creating a great experience for his guests. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After dinner, we checked out The Red Room, a cozy speakeasy-style cocktail lounge next door, also owned by David. The vibe was low-lit and intimate. The bartender there was friendly and crafted a beautiful, delicious drink for us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's a great spot to unwind after dinner or to visit on its own. We didn't end up ordering dessert, but the tiramisu caught our eye and seems to be a crowd favorite--next time, for sure! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, Brooklyn Trattoria is a gem--cozy ambiance, attentive service, delicious food, and thoughtful details that make a special occasion feel even more memorable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When we're looking to treat ourselves again, this will be the first place we think of!

We have finally found "our" Italian restaurant on the west side near our house. We moved to the Hillsboro area a few months go, and have searched for the kind of food and service that we experienced at Brooklyn Trattoria last night. The only challenge I saw was the status of the booth seats. They need to be repaired. We started with two excellent cocktails, the Central Park Smash and David's Old Fashioned. Then we had a terrific Bruschetta. It was so good. The flavors were perfect. Then we split the Mediterranean salad and it was very good, and I am glad we shared it. For our main courses, my wife had the Penne Alla Vodka, minus the sausage and it was excellent. I had the Veal Piccata and it was incredible. The linguini served with it was cooked perfectly also. We finished with the Cannoli. While it was good...we will try the Tiramisu next time. Jemma, who was amazing, stated the Tiramisu was outstanding. Jemma has been at Brooklyn for some time, and she is so skilled at her profession, and yet quite engaging, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. David, the owner stopped by our table as we were finishing our visit. I really appreciated his approach as I noticed he visited many tables; he would wait until the guests experience was concluding. Great touch and he was so amicable. We will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed this bottle of wine!

Food was great. Especially the seafood linguine and calamari. Service was also good and the atmosphere was old world New York Italian.

The snow crab alone already feels like a good value if you enjoy seafood, and the tempura dishes were surprisingly good as well. I didn't enjoy the warm dishes as much compared to the sushi. The tables are packed very close together, so people were constantly walking into or bumping our chairs while trying to get by. It made the dining experience feel crowded and uncomfortable. The buffet itself appeared clean, but I saw several children touching food and then putting it back while their parents weren't paying attention, which was pretty off-putting. What concerned me the most was the food handling. I watched cooks outside smoking cigarettes while wearing food-service gloves, then go back inside without changing them. Several employees, including waitstaff, were also outside smoking, and the smell of cigarettes lingered on them while they were serving guests. That's not something I want to experience while eating. The food was also underwhelming. A lot of the hot dishes looked like they should have been steaming, but everything I tried was lukewarm or cold. The desserts were very dry--the cake in particular was hard and tasted like it had been sitting out for quite a while. The sushi was okay, but some of it didn't taste as fresh as I expected. I had gotten multiple things to try but didn't end up eating it due to temperature & taste. I also noticed several employees spending time on their phones or standing around talking, which made it difficult to get anyone's attention when we needed assistance. At around $30 per person for dinner, I expected a much better experience. Between the food quality, sanitation concerns, and overall atmosphere, I don't feel it was worth the price. I wish I could get a refund for the food as it was in my opinion horrible.

We started with the garlic bread. The garlic wasn't overpowering and went well with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Both of us got salads - I had the arugula almond and my friend had the pear goat cheese. I paired the salad with the tomato focaccia and my friend had the lobster ravioli. The focaccia had a generous portion of tomatoes and paired nicely with the mozzarella and balsamic drizzle. It was nicely seasoned and not greasy. The lobster ravioli was tasty though the cream sauce was a little on the heavy side. We took the ravioli and focaccia back to our hotel. Service was friendly and our food arrived quickly. (You can tell a lot about a restaurant just from their restrooms and condition of menus.) I was craving crab or lobster, only being satisfied by the coastal restaurants, so I was eager to try the Lobster Ravioli. The flavor of the sauce, the fresh veggies mixed into the sauce, the size of the raviolis... AMAZING! My entree was $25 and worth every penny. I ordered a Strawberry Mojito which was $10 and delightfully refreshing. My husband only eats Lasagna when dining out for Italian. He ordered the Lasagna Bolognese, let me add he won't eat tomato chunks. There wasn't a drop left of his meal. He thoroughly enjoyed every single bite of his entree. His entree was also $25 and clearly worth it. Our server was Jassiel. We had a short discussion about the history of the restaurant. It is family owned & operated by both of his parents, as well as he & his brother as serving/bartending. The customer service was so sincere & upbeat, we'll definitely be dining here again.
