As always at the Old Spaghetti Factory, the food order consisted of three generous course: the salad, the main course and spumoni - all very tasty. We met family here for lunch at noon on a Sunday. Surprisingly, I was able to make reservations online, from their website, for a group of 17 adults. I received confirmation emails for my reservation up until the day of. Great communication on their end and our table was ready when people in our party started arriving. They seated each group as they arrived. Luckily, we didn't have to wait until the entire party was present, like some restaurants require. The table they reserved for us was near windows along the Willamette river, which was beautiful. Our food was delicious, as always. All food came out at the same time, which was greatly appreciated. Always a little awkward when some people didn't get their food while others feel bad digging in. Our server was outstanding! She was friendly, helpful and attentive. She even divided our bills up according to households, which was extremely convenient. Also unheard of nowadays, they didn't automatically charge a 20% tip on our bills. We ordered from the dinner menu: Spaghetti & Meatballs and Italian Sausage, and Lasagna and also Caesar Salad. The price were high, as we expected for dinner. The salad was just lettuce and dressing on the side. Hubby also had the green salad with dressing on the side. Both salads could have come from salad mixes, that you buy at the store. Likewise, could have come from bottled dressing, you buy at the store. There was NOTHING SPECIAL about them. The lasagna was nothing to shout about. Frozen Stouffer's Lasagna would be better! As usual, the spaghetti didn't come with enough sauce, the meatballs and sausage were OK. We could have ordered from the lunch menu, and get the same quantity, but the quality was NOT! I love the Old Spaghetti Factory, it's so nostalgic for me. We went on my birthday which fell on a Monday this year and were surprised at how busy they were. The hostess mentioned that they were swamped and we noticed everyone was pretty busy. Despite the chaos, we still received great service and the food was so good. It's also it's about a 10 minute walk from the OHSU aerial tram, which was a perfect stop for sunset afterwards. I recommend making a reservation even if you think you won't need one, it sounded like unexpected weekday rushes are fairly common here. read more

Secure, free parking, classic food, good prices and fun! I remember coming here as a kid, and thinking it was the fanciest place I've ever been. Those big double doors, chandelier and trolley car--what a great experience, and it's exactly how I remember it. For a holiday lunch, we got the managers special, chicken Alfredo, regular Alfredo and the classic Mizithra cheese. Each item comes with soup or salad and ice cream. Tell me this, where can you get three courses and free hot, crisp bread for like $20-25 a person? Like only here. Also, a giant, almost too big wine for $23 (6 nice glasses, wow). This is a great place for dates, groups, kids especially! Service is friendly and they have it down to a science. We came here during the protests just last night. No issues at all with the protestors, they were fine. We got seated quickly since we had a 5 pm reservation. I got the house salad with ranch, minestrone soup, and the meat sauce spaghetti. The salad was very fresh and yummy, the minestrone had tons of veggies and also flavorful. This was absolute disappointment. As Melanie T and I were discussing our experience, she said what was bad besides the food... I have been coming here since the early nineties when I was a student at PSU. Everything is worse. There are so many bad things that I am not sure how to present the information logically. I will start with the food. In addition to the fact that my lasagna tasted not good, it was wrong. I was not expecting to be as good as my mom's, but I did expect it to have cheese especially on top. The bread was awfully slow to come out of the over when in the old days, the bread never stopped coming. Even the butter was hard to find, and our server had to go searching for butter. What... She eventually got us to packet of butter. The garlic was used to be the highlight of the dinner. Now you can hardly taste the butter. Even exiting the parking lot was a bit hassle, so many cars in front of us could not figure out how to open the gate. We got there at three, but when we left, it was the busy time, so there was a huge line of cars trying to come in; so much so, that the line of cars was causing a dangerous situation at the made road as one exists the freeway. Everything has changed here to extract more money of the customers. That's what happens what business take their customers for granted. The only positive thing was our server. Did you stop on in yet to see the new merry-go -round horse from Albany? It's a new addition this year. I missed the Christmas ships this year, but still recently dined here on December 18th. The place was alll decked out for the holidays and extra stunning with all the decorations. They used to have bottomless soup and salad as an option - that I absolutely loved, but they unfortunately did away with that. I'm not a huge pasta fan, so I usually order the tray of broccoli with mizithra cheese. It definitely is next level and tastes so good compared to the general spaghetti sauced meal. We finally made it to the Spaghetti Factory. We'd been wanting to go since moving down the street. The building looks really interesting. It's a bit of a blast from the past and reminded me of some restaurants we went to when I was young. We got the food for takeout. It took them a lot longer to give it to us than their website estimated. We enjoyed the atmosphere and comfortable seating. So it wasn't that big of a deal. We live so close that we got the food back in 5 min. So, we were excited to eat it hot and fresh. Unfortunately, besides the meatballs, the rest of the food was mediocre at best. Two different pasta dishes with bland sauce and poorly cooked pasta. Their cheese blend was so-so. I'd say it was close to being on par with Olive Garden. Just a notch above. SCAMMERS! Beware seniors. 3 mistakes in a row on the bill, all in their favor. $60 lunch bill finally got to $39, as it should have been. When it was finally fixed their recommended tip was based on $60 price, not meatball Monday special. So their bill said a 20% tip on a $39 lunch would be $12. I asked the manager why, he said that is standard practice, the tip should always be on regular price, not lunch special price. How many seniors and foreigners do they scam and get away with this?
