Manager's Special. Meat and mushroom sauce

I have been eating at the Old Spaghetti Factory for years. The food is consistently good. Today the overall experience was bad. The timing was totally off. We waited 10 minutes to even order a beverage. We ordered beverages and an appetizer then waited 10 minutes for the beverage and another 15 minutes for the appetizer. Five minutes after the appetizer was served, the salad was served and just 1/2 way through our salad the entrees were dropped at our table. We then wanted 15 minutes for dessert and a water refill. The manager came by and took our drink order a second time if not, we might still be waiting. Very disappointing experience. I would say don't waste your money on the $3.99 upgrade fur the Caesar salad. It was not crisp and very overdressed.

Food good Service terrible. Food : 8/10 Service: 2/10 Waitress just really never "showed" up during our seating. She brought no bread, salads wrong, bad attitude. Will not visit this location again. Photo at 5:29 PM Thursday July 02.

there's good service and then there's amazing service and then there's exemplary service. and Justin was nothing short of exemplary. He served a giant party of 10 people with ease dealing with the elderly, children and people being disruptive and we loved him!! Thank you! we had brocooli and mariana. it was pretty good.

Service was fast and efficient. It was Comic Con weekend so they were trying to turn over tables quick, which I appreciated. We were hot and hungry from walking. The place is huge and seemed like a factory! The food was okay, but it did hit the spot for being hungry. Haven't been to a spaghetti factory in decades. Glad we tried it again!

I must applaud this restaurant for how they handled the busy crowd from Comic-Con! Nima (our server) was incredible! I'm very impressed by how efficient the waitress was-we didn't wait long for our food, either! The ambiance was great for large crowds, too. The bread was hot and fresh and the all-beef meatballs were incredible (the spaghetti itself could have been cooked a little longer, though). I look forward to coming back! Oh, they have amazing specials (ice cream is included-they even come in a cute Comic-Con cup).

7/23/2026 - at SDCC 2026, it's Thursday. Here's the menu, smaller menu and more expensive than the year before. Check out menu. More to come. Ordering food now. Can't wait. 3 plates for 3 persons. Yum.

Food 4 Ambiance 3 Price 3 Service 1 Multiple customers that ordered after us received food first and were gone when our food came. Bread was burnt and cold and drinks never refilled. Poor experience this visit. Much had to do with the server I believe.

I had no idea what I was in for. Came here for a company dinner recently and I've never been to any of these locations. Nor have I heard about these chains. To me, this sounded like an Olive Garden. I was wrong. Service is typical. The place is huge and decor is nice. For the price, the menu was very reasonable. You get salad/soup, your entree, then ice cream for like $20. I regret ordering the white clam sauce. I was imagining it to be very white wine with clams, and I was super disappointed. Only took a bite and disliked it. It was mostly just pasta cooked with some weird tasting white cream sauce. I don't think I will ever come back here.

It was a family dinner. Reservations were made because it was a big group. We got there a little earlier and we waited to be seated. Ashton came to seat us and was our waiter! He was great. After dinner he acknowledged me and my son for being veterans when I asked about a discount. When I come here I always get the brown butter and mitziri spaghetti. I LOVE IT! Everyone's entries were good to them.

For dinner we started off with the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer. It was phenomenal, the dip was well made and the bread was well baked and crispy. For my main dish I had the lobster and crab ravioli with the pesto sauce. It was delicious, hands down one of the best pasta dishes I had in a while. The service was really good. The staff were very tentative and friendly. This location was probably one of the most nicest locations. It was very spacious and had a second floor seating . The ambiance was perfect for a nice dinner date. Honestly looking forward to returning to this location whenever I visit San Diego again.

I met my besties for dinner prior to attending the Nightmare Bar a few blocks away. We had a reservation. I checked in early for the reservation and the hostess acknowledged me. I let her know that the rest of our party was parking and that I was early. When everyone arrived (5mins into our reservation time), we sat in the lobby waiting area in front of the hostess station. There were about 5 parties of customers waiting to sign up for the guest list. We had to wait until each party in the lobby signed up on the wait list until a host seated us. This was another 5-7 min wait. They were busy with dinner rush starting so we were happy that we made a reservation. We were seated under the famous staircase, which is my least favorite seat. With my awesome dinner companions, I quickly ignored the staircase above us and had a great dinner. Our server was a blonde/gray haired gentleman who was very attentive. We ordered: 2 Spinach & Cheese Tortellini, Chicken Marsala, and Manager's Special:.Half mitzra and half clam sauce, plus an appetizer of garlic cheese bread, and a side of Parmesan broccoli for the table to share. At the end our meal we had the traditional spumoni ice cream. This was a hit. Overall, great experience and good food. This place is nostalgic and it brings all the good dining memories back when I come here.

I met up with a group of friends for a birthday party. They celebrate at this restaurant every year because of the good food, good service and great environment. Everything was so good! Everyone raved about their orders from the bread to the salad and entrees. We ordered lasagna, pasta, meatballs, spumoni. Gavin was our server and he elevated our experience to incredible. He was on point considering we were a party of 12. Gavin never missed a beat!

OSF is really nostalgic for me, and I love the pasta "full course" with bread, salad, spaghetti, and spumoni ice cream at the end! I had the Vesuvius sauce & mizithra, half and half. The mizithra is my favorite here. Perfectly cheesy & salty (but not *too* salty). Our server was very charming, we actually had a birthday discount (which is still a generous discount in the year of 2026).

Ask the Community - The Old Spaghetti Factory

Are they currently open for take out?

When I last called, 2 weeks ago, they said they were only doing take out/delivery orders.

    Is the free parking?

I wouldn't recommend parking in this area. It's downtown, lots of foot traffic, and yes, will cost you basic parking.

    So they have valet parking?

They do not have their own valet parking but there is valet parking around the corner and a parking garage about a block away

Do I make reservations for a large group (30) or just go there?

Any restaurant attempting to seat a party that large has to accommodate others patrons so it's necessary to make an appointment - and in advance! Head count and a guarantee…

    Do they deliver?

Not sure. Best to call them directly.

Is it open on Christmas Eve?

Not sure, but give them a call and make sure.

Some of the best gnocchi I've had. This dish comes with bone marrow which is steeped in the dish. Birthday dessert is their table side tiramisu. Absolutely delicious! I also ordered the cannolis. They were not to my liking as I'm used to the ricotta being sweeter but the presentation was adorable! The outside patio is very cute but it was a hit night and flies were buzzing around.
