Our rehearsal dinner was here and while it has been a staple in the city, they did an awesome job serving us. We were able to use their banquet room in the basement and our guests got to choose off a limited menu (which I didn't love but understood) One of my bridesmaids was super rude to the waitress and everyone else because she had too much to drink at the ceremony rehearsal itself and the staff handled it beautifully. They were super respectful even when she wasn't and had such a great attitude when I was so embarrassed by the behavior. Pasta is life so the food was good too. read more

The one I used to go to is gone (Seattle). So, I happen to be in Spokane. This location is almost just like Seattle. Brick building dark woods trolly car inside. I felt like i was back at home. What is nice about this place is great prices for an all inclusive meal. Great sourdough bread served hot. Soup or salad then your meal and a scoop of ice cream to finish it off. read more

This Old Spaghetti Factory stirs up all kinds of nostalgia for me. I've been coming here since I was a kid. It was always a favorite family outing, get-together spot with friends, and then later a cozy, friendly place for reunions when I was back in town. But it's not all just nostalgia. I still really like the food here, and I never get tired of the quirky antique-attic ambience. The Old Spaghetti Factory chain started in the Northwest in the 1970s (I think Portland was first, then Spokane, followed by Seattle), and has since spread to half the country. I've had mixed experiences and heard mixed reviews for those various far-flung locations (my cousins in St. Louis give that one a solid thumbs-down for consistently overcooked pasta, for instance), but I've always found the venerable Spokane location consistently top-notch. Pasta is always a just-right al dente. Sauces, salads, fresh baked sourdough bread with garlic butter, and the complementary spumoni ice cream, are all consistently excellent. The atmosphere is unique and fun: Take an historic old building, decorate it with a crazy assortment of fascinating antiques, local color (I love the old photos of Spokane, especially the one of the 1920's auto show in the Davenport lobby), the trademark trolley, and throw in friendly, efficient service and a happy clientele (this has always been a favorite spot for birthdays, and it is a rare occasion to get through a meal without hearing one or two raucous renditions of "Happy Birthday"), and you've got recipe for success. The bar is also pleasant and inviting, in an Old West kind of way. The bar itself, an enormous mirrored mahogany thing from the 19th century, is work of art, a real museum piece. With the faux-Tiffany lamps and antique furniture, it really feels like stepping into the past. The food is nothing fancy, but it's always very tasty and satisfying. This has never been, and was never intended to be, a fine dining establishment. Those who rate it in comparison to far more upscale (and expensive) restaurants are being rather unfair. This is a family oriented, budget restaurant, that has managed to create a formula for a pleasant, memorable dining experience at an incredibly low price. It's really hard to beat on a value-for-the-money basis. Where else can you get a hearty, tasty, four-course dinner, all in a unique, fascinating, quasi-elegant atmosphere, for about the same as you'd pay for a comparable number of calories at MacDonalds? When it comes to recommendations on the food, I've got one word: Mizithra! I first encountered this Greek answer to Parmesan/Romano/Mozzarella here at OSF, and have never found anyplace else that does it as well (the only place I can think of that comes close is also here in Spokane: Tomato Street on N. Divsion), and few that have ever even heard of it. You gotta try it. I almost always order the "Manager's Favorite" combo, with either meat sauce (i.e. Bolognese) and mizithra, or with mushroom sauce (actually a marinara red sauce with mushrooms added) and mizithra. Or, when I'm really hungry, I'll throw in a side of meatballs (excellent) as well. Mizithra cheese is a goat cheeze that combines some of the tanginess of feta, with a bit of the chewiness of mozzarella, and the flakiness of parmesan, and it is totally delicious and addictive. After a long productive day of shopping and adventures, my friends and I decided to go to the Old Spaghetti Factory. And it was quite delightful...we left with full stomachs. Synopsis: The service was not bad and they were quite friendly. The atmosphere was very familial and very busy. But overall, if you are looking to get a good meal for your money, then come here. So let's get a little more detailed: Atmosphere: The lighting of this venue was not very bright, which fit the vibe and the genre of the restaurant...Italian cuisine. In addition, I would say that this is a very busy, loud, and familial restaurant. My friends and I were seated in the trolley, which was pretty cool. I thought it was a prop, but it was used. However, I will say that sitting in the trolley is extremely tight. So I felt a little claustrophobic. Food: For my meal, I decided to selected the Stuffed Pasta dish with Alfredo Sauce. The Stuffed Pasta consisted tortellini and ravioli. It was definitely a great portion size, creamy, and delicious. Along with our meal, you are offered a salad or a soup. I asked fo a Caesar salad, which was less than what I expected. The salad consisted of iceberg lettuce, croutons, and Caesar dressing. Lastly, for dessert, Spumoni ice cream is served. The ice cream is similar to Neapolitan, however its not strawberry, instead, it is cherry. The ice cream was a great finish. Service: The night was extremely busy, so the servers were extremely busy as well. They were friendly and tended to our needs. Some times it was hard to get their attention. Fun place, cool atmosphere with decent service, good bread, ok chicken parm and lasagna. Salad was fresh and the house dressing was not bad. Their namesake though, Spaghetti, is really not good at all. The tomato sauce and the meat sauces are tasteless. The homemade spaghetti is too thick and all of us at the table felt much too chewy. Tomato Street's sauces and noodles are better. Prices here on food and wine are good however. I love eating on the old trolley car that is located inside. Neat little bar area at the front that is 21 and up only. We come here about once a year and I do not see that changing. Parking here is a bit of a pain in the butt. read more

We usually love Spaghetti Factory and don't mind waiting for it. Last night was the worst service we've ever had. We had a large party of 15. We agreed to be split into two tables to be seated faster and arrived at 5:25 and were told 45 minutes. We were finally seated at 7:15 but were split into a table of 8 and two tables of four... not even that close to each other. Then our server didn't want to take all three tables so he took the big one and had someone else do the other two. The food at the big table was incredibly slow so half our party was finished 45 minutes faster than us and we didn't even ever get our dessert. We were there almost 4 hours. Our server only came to the table 4 times... for the drink order... the order... and the check. It was bad. We shouldn't have to spend four hours at a restaurant in any circumstance. read more

Tonight was rough. Obviously we don't mind waiting for a seat, and we don't mind waiting even longer when we specifically request to not sit in the trolley. We are taken to the table and they try and seat us in the trolley. We laugh it off and just assume they misinterpreted our request. We are finally seated and wait another 10 minutes to be greeted by our server. We overheard the table next to us, they were upset that they are out of their delicious sour dough loaves. Because they were upset they get a free garlic cheese bread appetizer. We were not offered that. Instead they offer room temperature dinner rolls that are typically served with a thanksgiving dinner. We finish our salads before our bar drinks arrive. Again, no apology. 30 minutes later we are informed the kitchen is backed up but our food should be out soon. Dinner was fine. It takes another 15-20 minutes of waiting for our check, boxes and ice cream. I'm honestly shocked we didn't see a manager. I sure hope he was off apologizing to others for the extended wait times and lack of bread. read more

Party of 6 + newborn! Walking in I feel as if I'm taking a step into western history, with wood floors, big chandeliers, antique furniture and does that bar seem a little like a saloon? And a train car? Our wait was an acceptable 15 minutes as we did not make a reservation. The lobby was comfortable and spacious leaving plenty of room for our party, all googling at my adorable baby. We were placed at a large table center of the restaurant but plenty of room especially for a sling. Our food seemed to take forever but I was famished! All entree's come as a 3 course meal so salad was meh, I had spinach tortellini with Alfredo sauce which is described as "Hat shaped pasta, stuffed with a blend of roasted chicken and Mortadella meats, and Romano cheese" it was fine, nothing special or spectacular, after all it is a chain restaurant. The spumoni was fantastic, superb, and succulent, I've never had such a delicious single scoop of ice cream. Overall the waiting staff was friendly and cheerful. The atmosphere didn't compliment the food, which is fine. The only complaint I have is the bathroom did not have a changing table, a single bathroom with a toilet and decent size counter but not big enough to change a child on. It wasn't until I was leaving that I noticed a possible bathroom down a flight of stairs? Take it as you will but the mediocre food mixed with the atmosphere and no changing table gives this place just an ok rating. I wouldn't go back there again but it's not bad read more

Went Saturday night 4-10-21, had 6:00 reservations but our table wasn't ready until 6:15 which is fine. Once we were seated we waited for over 10 minutes for our waitress to even take a drink order. I asked a manager as he walked by if he knew where our waitress was we would like to order drinks and he said in a rude manner "Ya she is over there doing a birthday" and then he walked off. When we finally received our food it was not hot but ok. My pasta was dry, I asked for extra brown butter and it was better. But, for an Italian place, the prices aren't bad. Food is sub par. Salad comes out of a bag. Wine selection is limited. Parking is horrible. I think we will stick with our neighborhood tomato street from here on out. Sad day... also, I made a reservation online... and it didn't go through! I have been coming here for birthdays and family events since I was a kid, so the spaghetti factory is a very nostalgic place for me. The service is friendly, the food is incredibly affordable and CONSISTENTLY good (I always order the pot pourri spaghetti for dinner and start with a salad with pesto dressing on the side). The browned butter and mizithra is outstanding as well. This is a very loud place and not the ideal location for a serious conversation. The service can be overly efficient, so you may feel rushed to order your meal the second you sit down. Simply order a drink and stall on the menu so you don't feel rushed. TIP: Avoid the lightly poured hard alcohol drinks and stick with wine/beer. read more

I struggle to call this "Italian" as it is classified, but I suppose "American" just isn't proper. Amer-italian? Walk in hungry and leave slightly bloated with pretty alright food. The marinara is better than Prego by a little bit; it won't floor you. The mizithra cheese here is lightly salted, which I appreciated. Brown butter and mizithra is a favorite. I was also quite impressed with their broccoli, as it was cooked to a crisp yet supple consistency and complemented with tasty mizithra. Nice! They are set up to handle large groups (even if it's not someone's birthday in your group, just tell them it is. It's more fun that way). The best parking is on Lincoln just a block away (use the parking meters and bring your change!). I don't diss on this location, as I found service friendly and their food almost exactly the same as, say, the Seattle location. They succeed in consistently mediocre food with a nice atmosphere! Originally from Southern California, I loved the Old Spaghetti Factory growing up. Now, we live near South Lake Tahoe and the closest is 2 hours away. So I got really excited when visiting my older daughter since her move in July of last year that Spokane has one located here. It was my younger daughter's 19th birthday and decided this was the place to go. I was a bit disappointed to discover that they really don't have a parking area so street parking was it. We had a late dinner so it wasn't too far of a walk. We had asked to sit in the train when I made reservations and they said they can't guarantee it but when we got there, they had it ready for us. It was my older daughter and boyfriend's first time at the Old Spaghetti Factory so they didn't know what to expect. The most memorable part was our server, Amanda. She totally made the night with her funny personality and her knowledge of the menu and how the items are prepared. The service was to notch! We started off with the Gorgonzola dip and it was fantastic. We then had our entree which was Chicken Piccata, the Chicken Marsala, and the Fettuccine Alfredo, they were all absolutely wonderfully made. Amanda sang to our birthday girl. It was nice that all the entrees comes with spumoni ice cream, which was absolutely delicious as well. We will definitely be coming back when we visit. But my older daughter and boyfriend said that they will be coming back as well as since they live there. All the yes. This place somehow captures the beauty that you didn't know could exist in industrialism. Perhaps it's the charm of the historic vibe that makes you feel a part of history when culture shaped a primitive Spokane. The inside is far more aesthetically pleasing than the outside. There are stained glass windows, creaky floors and wood furniture. THAT kind of vibe. More importantly, it's not Olive Garden. The food is great. I love a place that includes an appetizer/starter (i.e. breadsticks, salad, soup, etc.)The pasta was fantastic and filling. Dessert was also great. A nice quaint classy little joint in downtown Spokane with elegant fixtures and a very well taken care of hardwood floor! They even have a trolley car in the back with old pictures of Spokane throughout the dining establishment.
