Sat right away, oddly at a table that sat 6 when there were just the 2 of us and the place was empty but that's ok. Server was not the best, loudly chewing gum, blowing bubbles, didn't know the menu, no refills offered on drinks, didn't check back on the apps or meals. Manager was inattentive too, walked by several times noticing our glasses empty and table full of empty plates, he just avoided eye contact and kept walking by. Food itself was delicious, freshly made marinara sauce, crusty bread and delicious pasta. Our group of 11 ate here during a convention and had a very disappointing experience. Our reservation was at 6:30pm, and our entire party arrived early at 6:15. Showing up on time, with a 11 people, because we respect the time of others. Despite that, it took over an hour and a half to receive our food. We waited about 20 minutes to get our drinks, our salads arrived before the drinks, which set the tone for the rest of the evening. When the meals finally came out, a couple were cold. At that point, we had been there close to two hours. What was most frustrating, though, was how the situation was handled. The manager offered a minimal discount and quickly dismissed our concerns. When we asked to speak with the General Manager, we were met with the same lack of concern and no real effort to make things right. We understand that restaurants get busy, especially during events, but communication and customer service go a long way. Unfortunately, both were lacking here. This location is really unique. The entrance and dining area are filled with velvet covered furniture and dark woods. The menu is full of delicious choices and most dinners include salad and a scoop of ice cream. The house pesto dressing is so delicious. The mizithra pasta and broccoli is my favorite and I highly recommend it. We love the garlic cheesy bread appetizer as well. Service was fast and friendly and prices are good for what you get. I do believe you have to pay for parking if you use the lot next door, but there are free spots around as well. read more

Over the years we have stopped here many times. We've always been pleased with the experience. This time we decided to come by a bit earlier in the evening. The place was empty and we were seated promptly. Our server was warm and welcoming, and very energetic. We did notice right away that the prices have increased a bit, but unfortunately that isn't overly surprising. The bread and salad were served quickly. Entrees came out promptly and were fresh. We finished the meal with the signature spumoni ice cream. All in all it was another pleasant trip. The ambiance really can't be beat to bring you back to childhood nostalgia. read more

We love the The Old Spaghetti Factory restuarants so whenever we are near one of course we are going to stop in. This particular one we have been to before in Saint Louis. Can't go wrong with anything here you order. This particular visit we didn't have reservations but got seated after about 10 minutes. Our server, Dmoriya, was extremely attentive and friendly. We were impressed how the very young staff helped out each other and worked together. Our food came our hot and we never had to ask for more bread or refills on our drinks. Failed to provide my full order, failed to provide a refund, and failed to make good spaghetti! While traveling for work, on 26 August I ordered delivery using DoorDash. My hotel (Hilton) was just under 1 mile from the restaurant so maybe this is my fault for not just walking. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and tiramisu for dessert. They were packaged in 2 paper bags for delivery. The dasher only picked up the bag with the spaghetti, leaving behind my $9 tiramisu. Here's where my main complaint begins- I called the restaurant and they confirmed that the tiramisu was indeed still sitting on the counter waiting to be picked up, but refused to deliver it or to refund my money. They said I had to call DoorDash for support, so I did. DoorDash says that only the restaurant can fix the problem or provide a refund and they offered to call the restaurant on my behalf. So DoorDash negotiates a refund for the tiramisu, restaurant agrees, and as of 28 September (1 month later) I have not yet received the refund. Also, for a restaurant called the Old Spaghetti Factory, I really expected the spaghetti to be made faster and to taste better. It took an hour to get food from 1 mile away, and the noodles were overcooked and the sauce was not flavorful. It tasted like the used too much tomato paste and not enough of basically everything else. read more

Compared to the one in Fullerton, CA, this location is by far way better. Theming and customer service was top tier. I especially enjoyed the lighting and our servers gave us the ability to pick our own spot. Our waitress was incredibly sweet. The food came out very quickly. In addition to this, the entrees were a 3 course meal. Definitely worth your money. 10/10 would return again. read more

The inside of the building is beautiful and it has such a great ambiance - especially while decorated for the holidays. Service was ok. Our waitress definitely seemed checked out - even though they had just opened. She was nice but definitely did not seem in the mood to serve anyone. They were out of several things - applesauce for the kids meals, some wines, some beer and croutons. That seemed odd to me - to be out of so many things, all very random. The food was fine - portions were small and probably not the best quality but it did the job. This is my first dining experience here. Upon entering I felt less than welcomed. We told them we were meeting up with our party and the four workers standing behind the host stand just stared at us and looked at each other. The group ordered garlic cheese bread as an appetizer, it was tasty with a good helping of sauce. Upon sitting with our group, the waitress asked if we would like a drink. I ordered an espresso martini as I have been trying espresso martinis from many different restaurants as a personal mission to find the best one. This was the worst one thus far. The menu stated Kahlua was in the drink, however, the drink came pitch black. It tasted like vodka, espresso and the "dash" of simple syrup was too much syrup. It was not good. I asked the waitress for it to be remade with kahlua and she stepped around the corner with the glass. She came back, said they "miraculously" had one made up and I'm pretty sure she gave me the same drink back and asked if it was better, still with no Kahlua. She said that was only in the latte-tini. See menu photo for actual drink listing. The spaghetti was good, I ordered the Pot Pourri. It was a sample of three of the sauces on a plate of spaghetti. You receive spumoni ice cream with the meal, although, there is no longer a choice of flavor. There used to be a vanilla and chocolate alternative. The ambiance was difficult to describe, I guess this is a chain but we sat right in front of the kitchen hallway. At one point we had to ask the waitress to refill water and when the boxes came out, they were small Chinese takeout boxes. I had to wait for her to return to ask for an additional togo box. Walking in was amazing. The building is amazing and beautiful. Everything was good until we ordered drinks and food. The Old Fashioned I ordered wasn't that good. I should have stuck with the water. I ordered spaghetti and my friend ordered meatballs. I'm sure the spaghetti wasn't cooked long enough and everything would have been better if I ate it out of a can. The meatballs my friend ordered were hard and weren't edible. There were 3 tables full and service was very slow. I will not be back. TL;dr version: Pretty decent pasta at fair prices in a super cool historic building. If you're looking for Italian food like they serve on the Hill, this probably isn't your place. However, if you're looking for decent pasta in a cool atmosphere, this fits the bill. We had the chicken parmigiana and baked lasagna, both of which were very good. I'm a cheapskate, but I found the $20 price tag reasonable for the 3 course entrees (salad or soup, entree, ice cream). The portion was huge, so I do have dinner for tomorrow as well. Service was outstanding. Our server was attentive and a guy we could totally hang out with at a bar. Atmosphere is gorgeous. Very regal, probably over done for a spaghetti place, but a big reason we came here. It's a historic building with over the top classy decor. Great place to go if you're looking for decent Americanized Italian food. Great for St. Louis tourists who want to see some historic architecture. read more

It's been several years since I've visited an Old Spaghetti Factory, and I'd have to say I remember why. I was pretty excited when we pulled into St. Louis to see that they still had one open as ours closed where we live over 10 years ago. We were great upon entering and quickly taken to a table. However, I'm not really sure about our server, but I'll come back to that. So I ordered the chicken parmsean breast only and a side of broccoli. When it was delivered to the table, it was the chicken parmesan meal. I see a man who looks to me the manager and call him over before touching the plate to ask, and that was indeed the case. He advised that he would correct the ticket in the system and apologized for the mistake. It was very obvious that he'd said something to our server when she came back as her attitude had changed. She was now very short with her words and swiftly moving. The quality of the food was just ok, the salad dressing very bland and appearance mediocre as you can see in the picture. The ambiance was nice and had lots of potential. Would I visit this location again, probably not, but you could have a totally different experience, so please make your own judgment. read more

I usually don't leave negative reviews, but I feel it is necessary as this is a chain that can be replaced with something more worthy of the nice location. Taking 25 minutes to receive water was a preview of the rest of the meal as everything took way too long, with the entree taking about an hour. The presentation of the food looked rudimentary, reminiscent of a frozen dinner or something I can throw together in 20 minutes. Also, they informed my friend they had run out of the spinach ravioli, and they received their entree much later than the rest of us. At no point during the meal was I asked if I wanted Parmesan cheese nor was it accessible on the table, which was shocking to me for a pasta restaurant. The whole service staff had an air of nonchalantness that let me know this was normal for this place. On top of it all, this place was very overpriced for what it is, as if they are charging you a premium for the decor. It is sad that such a beautiful interior falls to the wayside because of every other aspect of this restaurant. Would NOT recommend. read more

I grew up going to Old Spaghetti Factory in Kansas City, and couldn't wait to take my boyfriend and kids tonight. I had a reservation at 7:30, ended up being free earlier than anticipated, and tried to get an earlier reservation on the website to no avail. When we showed up, the hostesses were flummoxed and took a minute to get us a table (no big deal). But when we were seated downstairs, I realized we were one of three tables in the entire restaurant. I've been in the service industry for over 20 years, and I'm very patient. But our waitress had a trainee, who even asked me if I wanted my Yuengling Lager on the rocks and forgot my boyfriend's drink. I'd been anticipating this visit for weeks and I was so let down.
