First time here with a friend, and we had a funny moment where Maps led us to a little shack across the street but just turn around and you'll see the actual restaurant! They run a happy hour Monday-Friday, so take advantage if you can. We both got pasta and the portions were generous! Mine was a touch salty, so keep water nearby, but the free bread made up for it. We sat in a booth (they also have a patio), and the inside felt spacious. Staff were efficient even on a busy night. A solid, classic Italian spot that hits the spot every time.

Plenty of food options to choose from on the menu. Tons of drink options as well. Staff was attentive and friendly. Was pretty busy inside but food came out fairly quickly.

Little to no wait time on a Saturday evening. The server was very sweet. The Caesar salad was delicious and I loved the homemade croutons. The bread and butter was warm and filling. The chicken parm was massive! So filling, delicious and cooked to perfection. The pasta was soft and fluffy. The menu is so big I will definitely be back to try other options!

I have always liked this place. Many years ago a bunch of us that worked at the printing company on the hill would stop by for HH. It was fun and the bartender and the drinks were perfect. Tonight I was in the dining room. My boyfriend and I were celebrating our birthdays with another couple. Arriving a little before 7pm I didn't expect the place to be super clean but the amount of food on the floor in the dining room was a little much. Our waitress was very nice. Part of my menu was hard to read. I'm guessing they've been scrubbed a lot. Then the troubles began. We ordered our drinks, me = tea, 2 waters, and the last person ordered a diet coke. The waitress repeated it and then went to get our drinks. My tea was very good and fresh. Water is water. However, the diet coke was Dr. Pepper. We mentioned it to the waitress and she said they were out of diet Pepsi. Hmmm, so...was this a diet Dr. Pepper? Even if it wasn't, it's best to tell the customer that you don't carry coke products instead of just bringing them something they CAN'T drink. It saves all of us time. We ordered our food and waited. As we waited, the tables around us were being cleaned. I have to tell you the spray that was being put on the tables was very strong. It felt like it had been sprayed on 3 of us. We all started coughing and I honestly thought I was going to be sick. I drank almost all of my tea just to get that taste out of my throat. I'm glad we didn't have our food yet. When our food came everyone but one of us were served. We were waiting on the lasagna. We joked that they wanted to make sure it was perfect. I almost had the first half of my sandwich eaten when our actual waitress came by to see how everything tasted and realized that the lasagna was not brought out by the other waitress. Sadly, the lasagna was not perfect. The noodles were not fully cooked. My steak sandwich had a ton of grissel. I ate some of it because it was in my mouth already but ended up cutting a lot of it out. Which was a shame since the ratio of steak to bread was already way off. The brussel sprouts which I normally love were very greasy and I took some napkins to soak up the grease but I couldn't eat them all. (I gave half to someone else at the table for some fries.) The chicken strips were really dark... almost burnt. The side of slaw came out in a little cup which isn't a problem unless you only fill the cup halfway up. The other meal was the perfect one. All in all a disappointing night. I think I'll just stick to the bar from now on.

Blue cheese & buffalo chicken salad

I love the blue cheese & buffalo chicken salad at Joey B's. There is a lot of chicken on it, and the buffalo sauce is just the right fix of heat and flavor. The restaurant has the quintessential south St. Louis vibe, with both a patio and bar area as well. There always seems to be lots of people meeting up after work. At dinner time rush the kitchen may be a little slow, but the wait staff was attentive and kept my drinks filled.

    Great Early Bird Specials!

Stopped by for the early bird special again today. This time I got the chicken modega with a side of white pasta. Both were very good and very tasty. Lots of flavor. It came with a huge side salad. I even have a left of my dinner leftover for lunch tomorrow. We remembered to order the bread, which is complementary, but you have to ask for it. They always have a good crowd, no matter what day or what time you come, but it's well worth the wait if you have to wait for a table.

This was our first time visiting here after passing it countless times during our daily commute, we decided to give it a try. Nice spacious interior with plenty of seating booths or tables. I Now I will say it was later, towards closing time when we made the last minute stop for a bite to eat so the service felt a little rushed which is completely understandable life goes on. That did not stop them cooks from delivering some of the best pastas I've had in a min, with some HUGE portions(no complaints) I pressed the fettuccine Alfredo pasta add chicken, wife had a shrimp and chicken pasta with a redish cream sauce. Also had an order of cheesy garlic bread. Ended up taking leftovers to-go. She also had a sparking drink can't remember the name exactly but it was strong.

Pretty good restaurant. Looks a bit rough on the outside but food is good. Portions are HUGE!!

    Ryah L.

The server, Michelle was very dismissive and uninterested in severing my group. She was constantly running away from our table. The food took over 40 mins to come out, the apps were good but the fiesta fettuccine was flavorless. We asked for the pasta to be removed from our bill and we noticed it was still there so we questioned her , Michelle then snatched the receipt without even grabbing the payment so we could leave the restaurant sooner ! Probably won't be back.

This time, we arrived at 6:30pm on a Friday night and were sat at a table in the main thoroughfare. The ambiance was poor and it was so loud that we needed to shout to be heard. We ordered the caramelized cauliflower appetizer which was drowning in cream sauce and so smothered in cheese that it no longer looked like a vegetable. It was too rich for us. They were considerate to give us plates to split the scampi style shrimp, which was well cooked. However, the grilled beef tenderloin and potatoes were very lackluster. We'd asked for medium rare and the kitchen must have been rushing as it was still raw in the middle. We tried to get the server's attention, but they were very busy and we gave up. A particularly strange and rude interaction from our server when collecting the check left a bad taste in our mouths. I was glad to see their popularity but disappointed at how it decreased the quality of our experience. Unfortunately, we had an unpleasant time overall. If you are planning to go, I recommend choosing a less busy time for a better experience.

We started with the toasted ravioli, and it may have been the best I've ever had. Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Our party of four was thrilled with every entrée. I ordered a veal dish with a side of pasta, and it was absolutely outstanding. Everyone else ordered pasta dishes, and there was plenty of "oohing" and "ahhing" at the table with every bite. The portions are huge, so we're all looking forward to enjoying the leftovers. Service was friendly from start to finish. Our server was warm and attentive, although things moved a little slower than expected, and it took a while for our entrées to arrive. That said, once the food hit the table, it was clear the wait was worth it. The restaurant has a wonderful history and old-school charm, though the dining room could probably use a little refreshing. We also stopped at the bar before dinner, and unfortunately that was the biggest letdown of the evening. The presentation and flavor of our cocktails were surprisingly disappointing--they looked and tasted more like drinks from a budget hotel bar than from one of The Hill's iconic restaurants. Thankfully, the incredible meal more than made up for the cocktails. With so many outstanding Italian restaurants on The Hill, we've been fortunate to try many of them, and Cunetto House of Pasta has firmly earned a spot in our personal Top 3.
