Country breakfast with ham and scrambled eggs $15.95
    Natalie M.

I enjoyed my time here. I've been here before for an omelette but decided to get the country breakfast that had pancakes and ham with 3 eggs. This was filling and delicious. The staff are so friendly and this is a comfy place. I've been here during weekdays so it's not as crowded. Lots of locals come here. The weekends get more crowded. I enjoyed it! The eggs were fluffy along with the pancakes. They have a large selection of omelettes too and some are under $15.

The corn beef hash definitely hit the spot here. If I see corned beef hash I will definitely order it. They did not disappoint. The portion was definitely good size to leaving you full but not stuffed. The side of sourdough was excellent. Good sourdough flavor with lots of butter. The toast was pre butter and they definitely buttered it up. The service was great as they were very friendly. The only thing I wish was more shredded potato's on the sides. Otherwise it was perfect. Parking was easy as the lot was good size

    Our cute bill.

Still love the freshness of the food ! Extremely friendly staff. I love to come with my family & friends. Still impressed with the cleanliness of the condiments.

Eggs over medium with perfect, high quality bacon, a waffle, coffee and ice water.

Nice, clean old school restaurant that has been well maintained. My server was nice & efficient and the service was great, a nice menu selection for breakfast or other meals and the food was very good. I would definitely come back here for more! (Update -- I came back again the next day!)

I passed by this place a few times and always wanted to stop by and try it. Finally, I got to try it, and this place is amazing. Upon entering, it seemed super busy. It looks like the place has been here for a while, but the chairs and tables looked modern. Not worn out and faded looking like some places. I was warmly greeted, right away. She looked like someone who enjoys her job. She told me that he chicken fried steak was the special today. So naturally, I had to order it. The portion was just right. It was crispy and so flavorful with the gravy. The other item we ordered was a ham and cheese omelette with pancakes. It looked so basic, but the flavor was amazing. The pancakes were buttery and delicious. I highly recommend this hidden gem. It is definitely worth it. It was reasonably priced, and the portion was just right.

Joe's Sausage omelette, way under seasoned. 3/5

This is an old fashioned diner in San Carlos. Set up is typical 1980s diners and has charm to it. Menu is extensive, you can find any combination of omelette you can imagine on the menu. Drink menu is very standard. There is ample parking spaces in the parking lot behind the diner. Now to the food! I ordered Italian sausage Joe's omelette with cheddar cheese added, Hash brown and side order of bacon. Although food was well prepared but was really under seasoned. In some point I ended up adding salt to the egg and sausage filling and the potatoes. Coffee was ok, diner style served hot and fresh. Service was super friendly and was star of the show on my recent visit. This place is accessible and kids friendly. The only let down for me was, this is an older diner and carpets start smelling funny. Since I visited on rainy day, this funny smell was really pronounced. I believe they need either a deep carpet cleaning or change the flooring. This is a three star diner for me.

The restaurant was kind enough to split the salad and brought it in 2 plates. The baked brie was hands down my favorite, and the combination of fresh pears and caramelized walnuts was also so good. The restaurant has a cozy, rustic cabin feel that makes it a great date night spot. They even bring out a candle for the table in the evening, which adds a nice touch. The staff were warm, attentive, and very polite throughout our meal. The restroom was clean, and finding street parking right outside was easy enough. It was surprisingly quiet on a weekday evening, though I have a feeling it's much busier on weekends. Overall, if you're looking for fresh, flavorful food with lots of healthy options in a cozy setting, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try

The baked Brie was so gooey and paired well with the crackers, garlic, arugula and fig jam on the plate. It's a lot of fun because you get to put all the toppings on your piece of Brie. The short rib was tender and the sauce was rich, but way too bitter to my liking. The wild mushroom pasta was creamy and delicious, but could be enhanced with a bit of acid. The fried chicken was juicy. It was served with 3 cheese macaroni, corn bread and parsley. I didn't know what to do with the parsley. Overall, the meal looked and sounded better than it tasted. It'll be a while until I come back.

One thing that stood out during this visit was the incredible teamwork. Every employee was constantly moving, helping guests, and supporting one another. At one point, a server who wasn't even ours noticed that the sun had shifted and was shining directly in my face. She immediately offered to move us to a different table, which we really appreciated. We also noticed the manager walking the dining room, checking in with guests and making sure everything was going well. It was refreshing to see such a hands-on approach. Our appetizers took a little longer than expected, which honestly didn't bother us--we hadn't even noticed. But the manager did. He came over to sincerely apologize, brought us an additional appetizer, and even insisted on taking care of part of our bill. It was such a thoughtful gesture. When the food arrived, it was excellent, just as we've come to expect. Our waiter was fantastic as well. The customer service here is every bit as impressive as the food. We'll definitely continue coming back. Town consistently delivers an outstanding dining experience, and we highly recommend it.

We were tired, hungry, and desperately in need of coffee. Drake's looked perfect and great reviews. The restaurant itself is charming. There's a small upstairs dining area, and the downstairs bar looked like the quickest way to get food, so we headed there. But the welcome was awkward. A man at the front desk clearly heard us walk in but didn't look up or acknowledge us. After a moment, a woman came over with a big smile, which was nice, but she didn't say a word just handed us menus. So we seated ourselves at the bar. When the waiter asked what he could get us, I started giving our coffee order, and he just looked around the room up at the ceiling, across the restaurant anywhere but at me. It felt dismissive and honestly just weird. Then the coffee arrived, and it was rough. My "latte" tasted like plain coffee with a splash of milk. No foam, no espresso flavor. My boyfriend's mocha tasted watered down, almost like it was made with hot water and a tiny bit of cream. Both drinks were extremely disappointing. Thankfully, the food was much better. My quiche was decent about a 3 out of 5. My boyfriend's chilaquiles were flavorful and satisfying, definitely a 4 out of 5. Drake's has a beautiful space and good food, but the service and the coffee really missed the mark for us.
