This was my second time visiting. The first time we stopped by on a Friday night and the hostess told us they were only seating those that had a reservation. The second time was a Thursday at 6 and the restaurant was pretty empty. Service: The service was pretty good, no real complaints. At one time I saw my waitress standing near the back kitchen holding my son's food in one hand while she finishing her drink with the other. By the time she finished the sushi was already out and waiting too. While we were eager to get our food I figured she just needed to hydrate. Food: the specialty rolls were delicious and large. I had the Lady in Red - YUMMY!! Can't remember the other. We also had two traditional rolls - spicy tuna and a California with real crab vs. the other stuff. The sushi here is awesome and I love the neighborhood walkability. I keep trying to find somewhere just a few dollars cheaper but keep coming up disappointed. So I've given in to spending just a couple dollars more per roll to get a lot more enjoyment because their sushi is that much better. Rolls are clever combinations and so flavorful. And the lamb bao is amazing. Insert thumbs up emoji here. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is two things: 1) it's a bit more expensive than other places and 2) they sometimes act like they're all booked up and can't fit you when they clearly have empty tables all over the place. Came here tonight to get some sushi. We were greeted with complimentary valet parking. It wasn't too busy which was good. They have a good drink menu with a large selection of signature drinks. I ordered Moscow mule and it was good. They have a great selection of sushi and sashimi and other great meals. For dinner I ordered the double decker and the miso soup. They were both delicious. Excellent food! And more than excellent service. Small but clean space however it can get extremely loud! I'm not sure if it's because of the high ceiling or the music (sometimes the music can make you feel more like your in the club not a restaurant) at times it seems like you have to practically yell to talk to someone right next to you. I thought I was going to double up on my sushi rolls , but both of our rolls were 8 pieces ... so I was stuffed, but my bf happened to have more room in his stomach (it would be the night I offer to pay ) and ordered chicken fried rice that came with a "yum yum" sauce. Katana on Lenox Rd. was my favorite sushi spot until it closed so when I found out the owner had other locations I had to try it out. We weren't disappointed! Everything was amazing!!! My boyfriend took me to One Sushi + for Valentine's Day since most other sushi restaurants were serving prix-fixe menus. The meal started off swimmingly, but kinda fizzed out. My boyfriend ordered their soul old fashion, which was poured tableside from a bottle filled with smoke. He enjoyed it, and I think the theateics were cool. We began with the yellowtail jalapeno shots, which had extremely bold flavors! The serrano pepper and the cilantro slapped me in the mouth on my first shot, and I really enjoyed the three of six I had. One thin. To be wary is that it has quite a salty finish, so more a few may be too overpowering. I think three each was the perfect amount. Unfortunately, there was no uni the night we came in because apparently they don't typically carry it. I guess I respect that if its because they couldn't get a fresh shipment. Luckily however, the night we came in, chu-toro was available. Bluefin chu-toro is my favorite!!! We actually try it hickory smoked served under a dome of smoke with a side of pickled wasabi. I honestly preferred it as it was served (no wasabi and no smoke) because I was able to appreciate the smokey flavory and fall apart texture. I'd say this was the highlight of our evening, although it was priced pretty high. We also ordered the Selfie because I wanted a salmon-based roll. It's very light compared to the other rolls on the menu and doesn't have a strong flavor. Then we had the sashimi platter, which was disappointing -- featured cuts of maguro, sake, madai, hamachi, shima aji, and albacore. I was disappointed because this was the largest offering of sashimi, and for sashimi lovers, there was nothing special about it. We would've definitely been willing to pay a higher price point for a more exotic and more full plate. I guess the chef doesn't curate large sashimi platters by request because we were kind of hinting at wanting a lot of sashimi to our server. Finally, we ended on the spicy tuna on the rocks because deep fried rice is my guilty pleasure. The tuna mixture that topped the rice did not seem fresh at all. I think this place is best for modern take on their raw appetizers and nouveau cocktails because their nigiri/ sashimi is very average at best and the rolls were subpar. Definitely avoid this place if you're searching for authenticity. Also, I wish our server was more friendly and excited. We really love learning about feature fish and different specials at sushi restaurants, but our server just wasn't into telling us. It was like pulling teeth when we tried to converse. read more

I will never stop talking about The One Sushi + to my friends from out of town because it's amazing! Their shrimp fried rice is to to die for. It's rich in flavor and if I'm not mistaken, they make it with butter so it tastes magical. Their bang bang shrimp and spicy miso soup are signature appetizers for my family and I. There is a drink with lychee and mint in it. I forget the name but it is wonderful. Bang bang shrimp is very delicious but a tad over breaded. I have the Salmon Tempura sushi and was just pleased. The salmon was fresh and presentation was minimal. The taste was not very convincing but it worked well with spicy mayo. The one fried rice is quite unique and a good try. Tip: Valet is free but tip. It's a great location for a sushi night dating, even it was Sat 9pm, the seats were almost occupied. The waitress was super nice and handy, she def knows a lot details about the menu. Then we had 3 different sushi rolls, Lady in Red, UN(big portion, so satisfied), Sex & the City...It was such a fun experience to go through the menu, I love how creative the owners are -- Taiwaness wife and Chinese-Korean husband, they did brainstorm a lot. Simply we enjoyed very bite of the sushi, I recalled in the documentary "Jiro Dreams of Sushi" -- It is all about the bass..oh, no, RICE..... their selection of the rice is impeccable, Bravo. I have been to the one sushi in the past (2016) and I remember the sushi being really good, maybe even the best I've ever had. Decided to try it out again and was utterly disappointed with the food and service. Our waitress was very nice and young girl but it seemed unenthusiastic like she did not want to be there. We order calamari, spicy miso soup and three sushi rolls. The spicy miso soup was good, not great. The calamari came out cold with a short blond hair laying right on top. We sat at the bar for our dinner and noticed sushi was sitting out for a waitress to come pick up. After about 10 mins our waitress bought over our sushi and we soon discovered the sushi sitting out was our. Sushi wasn't terrible but wasn't cold and definitely not worth $100+ tab. Three stars for the entire experience - service, selection, atmosphere, value. The roll I had (Picante) was plated well and tasted decent but all of the rolls just seem complex. We couldn't find just a basic roll. You know, a roll where you can actually taste the fish with maybe one or two ingredients. A roll that's not slathered in some crazy sauce... Service was slow and inattentive with only a few customers. Restroom was clean so there's a bonus. My friends and I wanted to try a restaurant we've never been to, and choose this place. The location was fairly easy to find. The decor felt trendy, the place had a hip atmosphere. We ordered 4 rolls, the yellowtail jalapeno shots, squid fries, egg plant fries, and the parmesan edemame. The rolls royce was the only one that stood out, probably because it was the most expensive roll, having lobster and all that. The other rolls (chanel replica, selfie, and picante) were just mediocre. Just tasted like any regular 'ol sushi rolls. Not much flavor. The fish wasn't extraordinarily fresh or anything. All the rolls are just kinda basic, didn't live up to the creative names that each roll had. The squid and egg plant fries were tasty though! I was really looking forward to the yellowtail jalapeno shots, because of other people's reviews, but it was mediocre as well. There was too much sauce, which made it very salty if you took the whole shot. I order yellowtail sashimi as well, came with 5 pretty thin (imo) slices. Not worth $12. This USED to be a good sushi spot located in downtown Brookhaven. There's been plenty of nights my friends and I have spent well over $120 on sushi and drinks. Presentation used to be interesting and fun. This is no longer the case. My boyfriend and I made a reservation on open table for a Thursday night to a pretty empty restaurant. Parking is a nightmare but you have the option to valet. We walked in and were seated right away. Upon being seated, one waitress came to serve us and another approached and said "no that's my table" after a few exchange of words, she said "I guess she's your waitress now" The menu is less impressive than it used to be but we ordered the Haven, The Twilight, and the Seared Duck. The Haven and Seared Duck were delivered after 30 minutes of waiting, the sushi was warm and the duck was cold and tasteless served with a line of salt. We finished those and were still waiting another 20 minutes for our 3rd dish and were offered Miso Soup while waiting, which we declined. After waiting another 10 minutes we asked our waitress to cancel the order and bring the check. She came back and Said the manager took care of the 3rd dish, we fully expected for the manager to stop by our table but, no. We left spending $40, still hungry, and decided to just go home and eat rather than go to another restaurant. read more

The worst customer service ever. This place is far down hill. I ordered over the phone the lady on the phone named "Daya" read it back to me all correct. I go pick me order up and return home. But they missed my order of California Roll. So I called the place back asap about 13 times and no one answered. I then proceeded to drive back to complain. And Daya the front lady also said there was no manager on site to give me any refund what so ever. Which is unheard of. I made the front lady take my name and number down. Ronald is the manager. It appears they all don't care at all there about customer experience or loyalty, I'll be spreading the word around this place is terrible. Food overpriced, average food. Last night, our server didn't know the menu, didn't check on us and the manager wouldn't accommodate a change to sashimi combo - even with an upcharge (something other sushi restaurants across the US have done). We ended up getting two rolls which were decent, but small for the price. Due to the lack of service I won't be back.
