TLDR: One Sushi + is arguably one of the best sushi restaurants in the city. The atmosphere/decor is modern & energetic, service is quick & efficient, and the food is fresh & extremely delicious. Bottom Line - check this place out for some tasty sushi and interesting takes on Japanese Classics. The long version: I've been to One Sushi + several times and always leave happy. The atmosphere inside is very modern and every detail has been thought about. The tables, art on the walls, and even the chopsticks are made of metal. The glasses have a tilt to them which I think is pretty interesting (though can make drinking out of them difficult sometimes). The only downside here is price but it's a sushi restuarant so you are expecting to be expensive. Some items though are ridiculous like the $4 Miso soup, come on guys lower that price - it's hot water and miso paste essentially. On my last trip I did the Sushi Sashimi platter and it was amazing! It had several kinds of nigiri and Sashimi on the plate. The presentation was beautiful and the fish tasted very fresh. I think it might be my new go to at this place. Some other rolls that stand out are Sex in the City, Picante, She-Sho Fresh, and Gangam Style which has short ribs! All in all, this a perfect place if you're craving high quality sushi and definitely worth the trip regardless of where you live in Atlanta. Went here about a month ago after one of my bikini competitions to celebrate! Amazing service. Amazing food. Good prices. Unique touch to the food and drink menu. Overall one of the best sushi places I've been to in a while! My friends and I ordered 3 appetizers: Braised Pork Belly Bun-IN LOVE. We ordered 2 helpings...oops. Wagyu Beef Sliders-on point! Perfect little size. Calamari Tempura-good, not big into fried things but enjoyed these. Four rolls: The ONE(Volcano)-you will not regret it. Too good! Sex and The City-my order and couldn't of been happier, want to get it again! Fresh but satisfying and delicious. Gangnam Style-good but not a top choice or something I'd recommend. Lady in Red-couldn't complain at all! Solid roll. 3 desserts: Sticky Toffee Dessert-if calories weren't real, I'd eat this for dinner every day. Sushi here is delicious and the service was amazing! We had the poke, spicy tuna on the rocks, cucumber lollipop, bulgolgi cheesesteak and brussel sprouts and also unagi. Everything was delicious and tastes fresh. My favorites were the poke and lollipops...definitely good lighter sushi options if you don't want rolls piled on with tons of sauces and other things. We didn't get any dessert because we were too full but the pictures looked amazing. Update (5/3/17): I had my birthday party there with a party of 16 and it was great! When I made reservations ahead of time, they were a little nervous about such a big party, but the manager Amy did a great job in accommodating us. They put us on the outdoor patio which was perfect. I am so disappointed in my meal tonight. I placed a To-go order and spent roughly $183. I ordered multiple of things and the quality wasn't up to par. The sashimi's wasn't as fresh as expected to be. I ended up having to pull part of the fish out my mouth, it was too chewy. I love sushi and I was trying this spot out since I've heard decent reviews, but now that I have tried it; I will not be coming back. As I took a bite out of the picante roll, there was a bone in it. The only items that was good was the squid leg fries, bang bang shrimp, the pork belly bun, the lady in red, and play boy. The sushi/sashimi quality was not fresh. Very unfortunate dining experience. The charred brussels sprouts small plate actually appeared to be boiled but the server explained that they gave it a cold ice bath before they put it on the grill. We asked for more charring and it came out equally watery. Next, we ordered two of their signature rolls, the Lady in Rec and the Toro on Fire. The former was fishy and not very good and the latter was absolutely inedible. Both involved the spicy tuna which was just downright bad. Unfortunately, after observing that we didn't eat our roll, they did not offer any kind of a discount or replacement. In order to have enough to eat for dinner, we supplemented with a rainbow roll that was fine and basically grocery store quality. We gave two stars because our server Elata was very good and our lychee Mojito was excellent. We enjoyed the tuna nigiri and the shrimp. There is just too much good sushi nearby to go back here again but we hope they take some pointers and improve their game. read more

My go-to sushi place in atl now! They have a patio and nice indoor feel. We went during covid, so tables were spaced out, servers wore masks, and we received wooden straws/chopsticks and individual soy sauce packets. We ordered the playboy, salmon roll, tuna on tuna and miso soup- all yummy! Rolls are standard price $12-20s. The menu is pretty diverse, appetizers + cocktails looked good- will have to try next time. Will have to come back again and sit on the patio. Highly recommend! read more

My wife and I just ate here for the first time tonight (8/13/17). We had a very good experience. We sat at the bar since it was already getting full at the tables and we did not have a reservation. Surprisingly it appears a reservation may be warranted even on a Sunday night. But I guess that is indicative of the food. The service was very good and the food was excellent. Better than any other sushi place I have tried in either Brookhaven or Dunwoody thus far. I had the house label sake to start. Very good sake for a fair price. We also shared some edamame which was served with three different salts. Pretty good stuff! Then we shared Tuna on the Rocks, The Haven, eel nigiri, and salmon nigiri. Everything was delicious. Our favorite was the Tuna on the Rocks. A must try. This may become our go to sushi place in the area. There were definitely other items on the menu that I would like to try. This is my go-to sushi place in Atlanta. The Sex and the City roll is always the best roll that I've ever had because their spicy tuna is incredible. They also usually have some very good specials. One time they had smoked toro (tuna belly) and it came in a glass bubble with the smoke still in it, which was very cool. The service is always good as well, so I highly recommend this place to anyone coming to ATL looking for some Sushi. The lychee mojitos are incredible! They even put real lychee as a garnish. I got the volcano roll and wasn't too impressed. It is essentially a California roll topped with a copious amount of spicy crab. In fact, it was so much spicy crab that I ordered another California roll and just put the extra spicy crab on top. I basically had 2 volcano rolls by doing this little trick. Our waiter was fantastic and very attentive. He was always making sure we were doing well and asking if we needed anything else. read more

I sat at the bar to witness the creations and these people are professionals ! Each dish has its own unique presentation and flare!! Yuuuuuum! We went here with our friends after a pool day sesh with mimosas. From what I can recall, the sushi I ordered was great. I ordered the crunchy shrimp and picante roll. I wasn't totally blown away by either one of my rolls but out of the two, I liked the picante roll better. I also got to sample some other rolls that other people ordered (e.g., spicy tuna on the rocks, chanel roll, spicy tuna roll, cucumber lollipop). What I wish I ordered was the Chanel roll. OMG. Hands down one of the best sushi rolls that I've sampled. I've only fallen in love with two rolls in my life (the Volcano roll at Kiku Japanese restaurant in Alpharetta; the Explosion roll at RICE restaurant in Gainesville) and the Chanel roll rivals those two. Right when you walk in to The One Sushi +, you will fully experience their slightly dark ambiance with the sushi bar being a primary light source for the entire restaurant. Upon arrival, expect a very professional hostess to welcome you in to the restaurant and from there the rest was history... Our server aka "Best Friend" (forgive me / will update once I find out again) will always give you a nice intro of the menu and explained everything with full detail without the need of any up-selling. The food here is definitely above average. Some of my standout dishes & drink at this spots are: - Get the party rolling with "the Intervention" cocktail - Smoked Toro (nice Hickory smoke taste as the toro gently melts on your tongue) - Rolls Royce roll - Anything and everything UNI!!! We are delighted to be the one of the first customers at the first day of their business. We ordered three rolls: Chanel Roll, Volcano Roll and U.N. Roll. All three rolls were beautifully and deliciously put together. We love Chanel Roll the best. It comes with 8 pieces. Each piece was embellished with scallop, tuna and fish roe; perfectly combined with mango, tuna and a light touch of mayonnaise inside the rice. U.N. Roll is my second favorite, though the most special one. The roll is topped with a thin slice of slightly grilled beef. I forgot what is inside the roll. What I remembered the taste goes perfectly together. Volcano roll is basically california roll topped with crab meat and crunches. It is delicious; though this can be found easily in other restaurants. Chanel roll and U.N. roll, by comparison are a lot more special and unique. I highly recommend this sushi restaurant. One thing in mind is that most hot entrees listed in the menu are quite fusion / Americanized. The prices are generally more pricey compared to other authentic Japanese restaurants. read more

When you're on the road it comes down to dining in of dining out. How bad can food be selected from a menu slipped under your door? When searching online for a new restaurant I'll check out the menu page first. I'm looking for things that POPs out at me. An item that I've never experienced prepared that way or one that makes me think, "That_sounds_amazing." Descriptions of menu items can sometimes leave me confused. But if there are enough items that intrigue me I'll try any place. You had me at pork belly. So there was The Sushi One. I figured if nothing else, they would have sushi. The menu had some very intriguing sounding rolls and some apps to entice. And yes, they had Pork Belly. I was on the road. The Sushi One is one of those places that out performs their menu description. As with all reviews I can only speak for the night I was there and what I ate that night. Nagiri and some very special rools: The Nagiri was scored along the entire length of the piece which made it extremely tender allowing you to bite off a small section of the fish. But I'm not one for small bites. For the 3rd time in as many Months fresh wasabi was offered. Although the textures and flavors differed slightly, they all were worth the price. FORMOSA: Flash fried soft shell crab, crab salad cream cheese, cucumber, avocado, BBQ eel, kabayaki sauce. There's not much else needed to say other than it was delectable. CHANEL REPLICA: Scallop tempura along with mango inside topped with tuna and fresh scallops, garnished with scallions, red tobiko, soy chili sauce and creamy wasabi. A flavor party in your mouth. BRAISED PORK BELLY BUN: Pork belly marinated in a soy ginger shallot marinade then braised to perfection and seared to make it crispy. Add some pickled cucumber, mustard green, grind roasted peanut on top. There is no chewing the fat here, this pork belly melts in your mouth. In case you haven't tried PB It's basically bacon that happily embraces its fat side. PAN SEARED DUMPLING Not like the standard gyoza or fried dumplings. The blending of a flavorful soup dumpling and a panini. A delicious beef and vegetable mixture inside thin dumpling wrappers press thin and crisp. The dish is served wotj a w/ ponzu dipping sauce. The restaurant also had a very good if somewhat expensive selection of saki. I imbibed. If you're near the Brookhaven area in Atlanta it is definitely worth checking out. Our first visit was wonderful and delicious food. So I decided to bring my friends on a Saturday night. The waitress informed us it was last call so we put our orders in. We order stuffed jalapeños, tuna tartar, and 2 sushi rolls. We requested a Mezcal old fashion and the the waitress seemed confused but eventually the drinks came out and they were delicious. Then our food came out and I noticed there was only one sushi roll so I assumed the waitress would bring my sushi roll out in a minute. She never came out to check on us until it was time to pay. She claimed that she was confused about our cocktail order so she forgot to put my sushi roll order in. A manger never came out to deal with the situation. The waitress also didn't understand that we wanted to pay in cash first and the rest on the card. read more

Good sushi. Horrible customer service. I have Celiac Disease. So it's hard for me to find places to eat. I called this restaurant 3 hours ahead of time and they said they could accommodate. I've eaten here before. However, tonight I get to the restaurant and the manager tries to make it happen, bringing out a fresh cutting board for one of the chefs to make it easy. However, the head sushi chef refuses to let the chef wash his knives and replace the cutting board, a small accommodation that would have kept me safe and that he'd agreed to 3 hours earlier. The manager is so upset that he insists I wait for his boss to come and rectify the situation. His boss comes and it's clear he's afraid of the sushi chef. So, after 3 hours of planning and 1 hour of waiting, I leave without food. read more

Just from looking at the food photos I knew I had to try this place out. I came here on a Saturday night, and it wasn't that packed so I don't think a reservation is necessary. My bf and I requested for two tables because we knew we were going to order a variety of dishes and appetizers. (We were so hungry!) Dumplings- if you've ever had Vietnamese crepe or banh xeo, they pan sear the dumplings and the outside crust taste exactly like a banh xeo. Fried rice- I don't know if I was just really hungry but I really liked the flavor of the fried rice. Bulgogi sandwich- this came with a side of kimchi and I believe it was plantain chips? It was a small sandwich, ( half a sandwich roll). It was really juicy lots of flavor. The kimchee was refreshing, not too spicy. Lemongrass, lobster bruschetta - at this point I was getting pretty full but I had to keep going!! Lots of little lobster chunks on a toasted bread. Yellowtail shooters- these were my favorite. I believe it contained a little bit of ponzu, yellowtail and a little slice of jalapeño. You kind of have to scoop it into your mouth instead of taking it straight like a shot because the yellowtail gets stuck. So I had two signature rolls..... That I can not remember the name of.... But I remember one was lady in red and that was my favorite because it was a little saucier and sweeter which I like. And for the dessert we had a green tea creme brûlée that was soooooo delicious. What a great place and change of pace. So easy to get to and close to Brookhaven Town where I train at the LA Fitness. This is not your average sushi joint or bar. From the design to the details of the sideways sitting glasses on your tables for water, everything has been touch with a creative eye. Don't worry - the sushi and in-house list of inspired choices don't lack in creativity either. One word for One Sushi - One Yum! I would however recommend that they dedicate one sushi chef to the carry-out. It seems to bury the sushi area while patrons are asked to be patient and wait in order of the calls in for carry out. Really have nothing negative to say at all. I chose the One Sushi + for my birthday dinner and they were super accommodating. Especially when my group of 15-20 ended up being 8 people. Oops! We had a couple drinks and some champagne and got to ordering. Of course we didn't the yellowtail shots which were a highlight! I recommend to everyone who goes, it's so good and the fish is some of the highest quality I've ever eaten. From start to finish it was all wonderful. I ordered ahi tuna and sweet shrimp nigiri, cucumber lollipops, Chanel roll, sex in the city roll, fried rice and a few more I can't think of. All sashimi was amazing, Chanel roll was absolutely top 5 rolls ever consumed by anyone-ever, cucumber lollipops were good, had flavorful sauce and a lovely display but they weren't my favorite. Now one of my top favorite sushi restaurants!! So let's see, where do I start!!First of all, the restaurant is located on a small street so it can be a little bit hard to find. they have complimentary valet parking which is really nice but there's also self parking in the back. their decor reminds me of industrial art and it kinda goes well with the dimly lit atmosphere. they also have a couple of t.v's set up on the walls. our waitress was awesome, which makes me feel completely awful that I forgot her name. she was friendly and very patient as me and my friend took a really long time trying to figure out what to order. she really knew her stuff and helped explain the dishes to us. I went which the pork braised pork belly bun, yellowtail jalapeño shots, and the one volcano roll. my friend got the double decker and haven rolls. we didn't have to wait very long for our food and they were all honestly amazing. The jalapeño shots were surprisingly very delicious and the pork bun was so tasty and tender. the one volcano roll was sort of intimidating because it's quite big. you will struggle with your chopstick but it's worth it(: both of my friend's rolls were great as well. the haven roll tasted fresh while the double decker was nice and crunchy. for dessert, I got some sort of blueberry bread tart with vanilla ice cream on top??I wish I could remember, but it's the only thing on the dessert menu with blueberries in it if that helpslol my friend got the miso brownie cup and I would highly recommend either of them!! the prices can be a bit high but well worth it in my opinion. The one sushi + is a modern Asian fusion restaurant. Even though quite different from traditional sushi place like Sushi House Hayakawa, it is still genuine and well-prepared. Roasted Brussels Sprouts are good for my friends, but not for me. I would recommend cucumber lollipops for its novelty! Chirashi platter is generally good, but is a miss when they put octopus in it. It was Sunday night, around 8pm, and they told us they are out of tuna... Accidentally, we ordered the volcano. It is a real bomb. Green Tea Cream Brûlée combines the sweetness of sugar and the subtleness of green tea, great. Parking: you can park on the street, or around in the parking lot, but sometimes could be tough. Food and service is important for any restaurant, but when the decor and cleanliness is also spot on it makes for a better dining experience...which The One Sushi does. Wow I have been a loyal customer of The One since COVID started. Tonight they didn't put the top on my miso soup, all of which spilled through the paper sushi box and completely ruined my sushi. I called the restaurant and the hostess explained that because there was no manager on site, no one had the authority to make it right and if I wanted edible sushi, I'd need to order again and pay twice. I had my first experience with The One last night and I'm not sure it was enough to give a fair rating. Overall I really enjoyed myself but I think the prices were just too high; for two cocktails and ten individual pieces of nigiri we spent $70 (with tip). Ambiance is great - modern art, electronic-y music, clean lines in terms of decor and place settings. Service - five stars. Our waitress was personable and had ready answers for all of or questions. We split the chef's sushi sampler, two ebi nigiri, and two unagi nigiri. All the sushi was fabulous quality with nice texture and flavors, and presentation was absolutely beautiful. If you're an unagi fan, make sure to try it here. I'll be back to check this out again. The mango and creamy wasabi really add some great flavor to this roll. This one was my favorite. Korean BBQ... I don't remember the name of this one and it isn't on the online menu, but it looked freaking delicious. Between the presentation and the faces of yummy feelings my partner was making I hope they keep this around. The #selfie.. This was at its best when I took the lettuce off of it. It added an unneeded flavor profile to the roll. Yami Zaki (sic) this one isn't on their online menu.. I hope it's still there when you visit because I could eat 3 of these. Double decker.. This is big, bold and delicious. The Volcano.. Your mouth may catch fire, but it'll be delicious fire. TFC... A play on the KFC name. I don't eat chicken, but my partner is STILL talking about how good this was. We had some of their seasonal cocktails and they were fantastically made with great balance. This was my second time visiting. The first time we stopped by on a Friday night and the hostess told us they were only seating those that had a reservation. The second time was a Thursday at 6 and the restaurant was pretty empty. Service: The service was pretty good, no real complaints. At one time I saw my waitress standing near the back kitchen holding my son's food in one hand while she finishing her drink with the other. By the time she finished the sushi was already out and waiting too. While we were eager to get our food I figured she just needed to hydrate. Food: the specialty rolls were delicious and large. I had the Lady in Red - YUMMY!! Can't remember the other. We also had two traditional rolls - spicy tuna and a California with real crab vs. the other stuff. They were as expected - surprisingly there was no real difference with the real crab. read more
