My original review still stands, but wanted to mention that 5 years later, this place is still amazing. The young folks working there have the friendliest attitudes and the best work ethic, not something too commonly found these days. ReAnn was on point on this visit, she truly seemed to enjoy serving others. The food came out pretty fast and fresh, with my friend loving the patty melt and soup of the day Mushroom Brie. I ordered the scratch made chicken strips and fries and they were hot and fresh, but I must mention the strips are kind of small. Still delicious. Most of the decor is available to purchase with something for everyone. If in the area, you must stop in, even if it's just for a slice of one of their many homemade pies! read more

The servers and the atmosphere was so welcoming and friendly. Me and my girlfriend came from Utah to visit and stopped here for brunch. She got a chicken sandwich with buffalo sauce and I got a quiche along with some mimosas. The sherbet mimosa was delicious and so was hers with cranberry. The sandwich was perfectly cooked and seasoned properly and not dry. The fruit and vegetables in the salad was fresh as well. The only thing we weren't a fan of was the quiche. I used to come here for dinner all of the time and thoroughly enjoyed it. Then you decided not to open for dinner so we stopped because we were rarely in the area during the day. I was finally in the area and decided to stop for a late breakfast. I was the ONLY PERSON there and was stunned to discover that you wouldn't serve me breakfast because it was 11:05 a.m. I opted for the prime rib sandwich and was served a lackluster attempt at a sandwich. I would estimate about 2 ounces of meat at the most that was so incredibly dry, I could have used it for sandpaper. Then I had a 2 inch "slice" of pie with maybe a tablespoon of whipped cream. Dang guys, you have fallen so far. I miss the great place you used to be. You certainly aren't worth the drive anymore. read more

Let me preface my review with three things I love: 1) the quaint atmosphere 2) the undoubtedly delicious food and 3) the fantastic service. However, I was completely disappointed when I asked if they gave a veterans discount. I was appalled to hear no..... on Veterans Day. You mean to tell me they can't give even 5% on only the veterans meal? Or a free coffee? To me, it isn't even about the discount. It's about the respect and honor for someone who served your country..... but even more so on Veterans Day. Those actions really show company/owner values and make us reevaluate being a repeat customer. I drove 45 minutes to treat my veteran to a nice breakfast just to be slapped in the face on Veterans Day morning. Thank you for the waitress who said "no but thank you for your service". Our friends brought us here on a Friday morning on our way to wine tasting. Seems like it is out in the middle of nowhere. It turned out to be a delightful little place. As far as decor and ambiance, think of it as Cracker Barrel's little sister. Very homey and quaint inside. Loved the old fashioned candy featured, like Lucky candy cigarettes and Big Hunk bars (my father's favorite). There is other apparel and items, including jams and honeys. Our server was Grace, and she took very good care of us, with a smile and kind attitude. Right off, our friend ordered the fried green beans as an appetizer. Yummy, especially with Ranch dressing. I had the turkey sandwich, my wife and the wife in the other couple ordered the salmon salad. My friend had the Buffalo wings. All the food was delicious. My sandwich came with a cranberry mustard that I really liked. Delicious homestyle food and atmosphere with great service, what's not to like. My wife are already planning to come back for a destination outing. I recommend you come during the week, because my friend says The Orchard House becomes very crowded on the weekends. read more

In Idaho visiting and had lunch here. We were seated right away. We had a great waitress even though she said she was new we couldn't tell. I had the prime rib sandwich it was good. There was a lot to look at in the restaurant lots of little gadgets you could purchase. Cute stuff!! I did get a chocolate chip cookie to go which was good when I ate it later. We thought it was strange that the potatoes didn't come with toast, and the menu even indicates it does, but the waitress said toast only comes with "favorites" listed on the menu. Super weird. E started with beignets, which I think their version is more just fry bread, but still good. Needed to be dusted in powdered sugar and served with lemon slice. Instead we got home packets. This is a quaint restaurant, bakery and gift shop. It is lavishly decorated for the season. The service was friendly and welcoming. Service with a smile. The outdoors provide cozy seating and a walking path that takes you over small bridges and winding walkways. Very inviting. Went there for the first time with our neighbors (they had been there before). Great place for breakfast, portions were delicious and fair. The menu is varied and all items were very fresh and tasty. Great little breakfast and lunch find out in the boondocks of Canyon County. Went for lunch with the boss for a holiday thing, and it's good simple Idaho food. Spicy fried green beans and fried zucchini as appetizers were both great (green beans better and definitely had some spice). I got steak fingers and fries and the boss got a BLTA with tots, neither of us was disappointed. They aren't trying to be fancy, just good. The gift shop it sits in is adorable and could definitely get me in trouble. Service on par with food, and you can tell the servers like being there. It's out of the way, but in a nice way. I don't know what is going on at this restaurant but they have dropped some significant entrees in the last three years. You can no longer order the warm spinach salad with shrimp, which was outstanding. Their blue-ribbon meat loaf is now unavailable as either an entree or sandwich. The stuffed mushrooms are gone, and beignets are not available on the lunch menu, only breakfast. I remember when they had local wines on display to enhance the evening dining experience. All these changes, and more since they eliminated dinner hours. And don't try to order after 2:30 PM because they strictly close by 3:00 PM. Well, we went back for lunch yesterday and I'm pleased to say that the quality of the food is still excellent. But prices are so high. The salmon or steak salad is now $22.95! Really, for a salad? And we ordered chicken strips and it was $16.95. And a side of cream ("country") gravy was an additional $2.95! Any good southerner knows that chicken strips without country gravy just ain't cutting the mustard, lol. And they now leave out the toasted garlic bread. The lunch menu has hamburgers, sandwiches, fish & chips, salads, a few specialties (very few, compared to the past), and of course their pies and pastries. The restaurant has really turned into a breakfast joint with a mundane lunch selection. It is still a charming venue, and the location is excellent, but it is so disappointing compared to what it was in the past. And because of the corner cutting with the high prices I'm beginning to wonder about their financial sustainability as a business. read more

My husband and I went here after going on a hike at Jump Creek. I noticed this place on our way to Jump Creek and thought it would be a great place to stop after our hike. I'm always eager to go to a place if they are known for their pies. I love pie, especially any berry pie, and was excited to give this place a try. I got a cheese burger and fries, which both were yummy. The burger was well seasoned and the fries were hot and crispy. I'm not a huge fan of fries that are coated, but this place is the exception to the rule. They were delicious! My husband got the fish tacos and he loved them. The orchard house has been on my list of places I've wanted to check out since moving to Idaho. We decided to visit on Saturday around 12pm. We were able to get a parking spot in the back lot and there was a 30 min wait. After about exactly 30 min we were seated. Service was pleasant and fast. I had the cranberry blood orange mimosa and my husband had a beer. I ordered the chicken tenders and he had the mad cow burger. Food was good and a nice portion that didn't leave you feeling disgustingly full after and allowed you to be able to finish your meal. We also ordered a piece of peanut butter pie to go which was freaking AMAZING!! Best. Pie. Ever. My husband also really loved the jalapeño ketchup and purchased a bottle of that to take home as well. This place is so nice to go for an early morning breakfast. The food is fantastic. Next visit will be for lunch.

My wife and I got Tuna Melts and really enjoyed them. Very good size sandwich with option of fries or tots. I'd give them 5 stars if their French fries were a little tastier. We got some fudge to go and each piece were a tasty and very creamy. Other than that, it's always crowded, so expect a wait. We came here while out on a leisurely Sunday drive through Canyon County. It was busy when we dropped in for a late lunch, but we only had to wait a few minutes to get a table outside.
