Tried the banana coffee after a recommendation from a friend and it was so good! I will say it's a little pricey at $10, but it's one size and the size is luckily bigger than I thought it would be. It comes iced and if you're sensitive to caffeine like me, you can order this as a decaf banana coffee--and it still tastes amazing! I ordered this on a super hot summer day and it was so flavorful--a mix of coffee, banana, coconut, and chocolate. Would definitely get this again!

Rachel is fabulous, she is so busy and yet so tentative to all of the customers she helped while I was there! The coffee was fabulous and I can't wait to go back and try the banana drink next time! The environment is great, a place to meet with friends or set up a small work station for a small amount of time. I had a great time! Thank you Rachel!

This Saturday I checked out the Organic Bean for the first time! The corner coffee shop is so cute and welcoming. I ordered a lavender latte and browsed next door at the Beetle Bodega while I waited for my coffee. The service was great and the latte was delicious. I love this little area that The Organic Bean Cafe is tucked in! I have frequented the Green Belt before for other shops, but today was a first time visit for OBC! Such a cute little cafe and much larger with seating in the back, that I was unaware of. I would most definitely return to for a coffee date or to do a little work at! Upon entering I was so warmly greeted by the barista. She was so friendly and really made the experience so lovely! Their menu features primarily classic coffee, espresso and tea offerings, along with a few specialty items. She mentioned their Banana Coffee is one of their most popular, which is a chocolate banana latte of sorts. I did not try it this time around, but will most definitely be trying next time around! I went for a classic cold brew, no sweetner and heavy cream floater. Simple and delicious! I then got one of their more popular pastries, the blueberry streusel muffin, which was DELICIOUS. So moist and flavorful with massive blueberries and a delicious topping. They also had a chocolate chip banana muffin offering. The barista let me know their pastries are 100% GF, vegan and paleo. I never would have known! They get them from a local baker and is the only cafe you can snag them! They also offer outside seating and overall well worth a spot for any caffeine needs! I will definitely be visiting again!

I have been on a vanilla latte kick lately and desperately needed one yesterday while in Downtown Mesa. I've been to Downtown Mesa PLENTY of times, but had never visited The Organic Bean Cafe, and I'm sorry to say I have regrets of taking so long. I ordered my latte and browsed while it was being made, and I saw the space beyond the coffee bar. It was a small area of some tables and chairs, cozy and quiet. As a former writer (pre-mom stage), I probably would have been here with my many notebooks and extra pens. I loved the latte and helped me power through the rest of our stroll through Downtown Mesa Great coffee, great look, great service!

Wow! I feel blessed to live within a 5 minute drive of OBC! Their coffee is always on point. I love my coffee creamy and tasty - and OBC does not disappoint. The interior has great vibes and is very clean. They have opened up more to their coffee shop to allow for indoor seating. A great place to meet up with a friend. I believe they also have wine there as well! Service is always great! I am always greeted with a smile. I'm happy to continue supporting my local coffee shop!

Quaint hole-in-the-wall, very small with four chairs inside and a few spots outside, with a charming environment. When I went in, there was just a couple sitting and knitting, which was cute. The service from Rachel was very sweet. She puts a lot of love into this cafe. The coffee was solid and I know it's all organic, but it didn't knock my socks off. I got a skim latte and it was average, not great, not bad. It wasn't as foamy and creamy as I'm used to. I'll have to return for the banana coffee. read more

Procaffeinating: The tendency to not start anything until you've had a cup of coffee. Just call me a master procaffeinator. This charming little coffee shop looked like a promising place to load up on C8H10N4O2 and it also had a small little shaded patio which was perfect since we had the dogs with us. The menu is very basic, but if you're a first timer or not sure what you want to get they will ask you a few questions on what kind of coffee drinks you usually like and will make some suggestions tailored to your preferences. I wanted something iced but not overly sweet so she recommended an iced latte with coconut milk and ghee (Clarified butter). I was intrigued by the use of ghee in the coffee; I've heard of putting butter in coffee drinks but had never tried it before. The barista (Who I think was the owner) showed me the container that they use and I thought it was really cool that she uses vanilla ghee made from grass fed cows. Unique high quality stuff! I enjoyed the combination of coconut milk and vanilla ghee adding richness and some extra nuanced flavor in the drink. The actual coffee skewed towards the acidic side for me though. I put in a couple packets of sweetener which balanced out the taste. The barista was very friendly and sweet. She was so kind to our dogs and even gave them some doggie treats. I also think it's great that this shop also offers yoga classes and different classes. For instance there is an upcoming coffee and crystals event where you can sip coffee and take home a crystal gift! read more

Stumbled upon this cute little coffee shop and their latte did not disappoint. Staff is friendly and they had plenty of outdoor seating. It's super small inside and only had about 2 small tables so it's more of a grab and go or sit outside type of cafe. I wouldn't recommend for studying or doing work unless if the weather is nice out. Not sure if they have wifi. read more

In town visiting and saw this very quaint coffee shop. To top it off, they have the rare banana coffee! Only one size option but it's well worth it! Seems like they must purée a banana each time for the coffee since it's one size only and it tastes fresh. Would definitely recommend the banana coffee! read more

This is a tiny polished gem of a coffee shop and the ladies who run it are a class act! They show up each day to this downtown Mesa green belt Organic Coffee Shop and outshine any coffee shop I have ever entered. It may be because of its quaint and very familiar feel, or the kind nature of the people behind the counter- but it has my vote as the best hometown coffee shop in Arizona that I have ever walked into. Beyond a 5 Star!!! About the organic coffee: The fresh aroma of each of the coffees that I have tried keeps me coming back for more. They have a genuine care and interest about the ingredients they are putting in the drinks they make everyone! They even consult with you to determine a unique drink tailored just for you (banana? Lavender? Fudge? Coconut, almond,cashew milk? Iced, cold, espresso or hot coffee?, teas?) Yea, they got it goin on. Give them a try!! Note: they also have yoga and crystal classes from time to time. You can check them out on Facebook and it will tell you their schedule of classes. My favorite so far was Yoga Nidra held by the owner Rachael who is a yogi also. Note2: They do a really fun evening event on 2nd Friday's in Downtown Mesa with live local musicians. read more

Stopped in this AM during the soft opening. Walking through the breezeway I caught the sweet aroma of fresh coffee. Rachael served up a wonderful latte (she's obviously a pro). Entering the nearly hidden corridor to the coffee shop felt like entering a secret garden! The shop owner was so kind and was able to answer all my questions. I ended up getting a mocha with coconut milk and it was delicious! I really liked how everything in the shop, including the syrups, were organic. I am looking forward to going back and trying new things! We also treated ourselves to some little doughnuts from Positively Frosted- they were soft and tasted like cookie dough. read more

It is all about the coffee for me. This is a small shop with recycled and repurposed decor. The owner Rachael is friendly but the coffee is awesome. They use fresh locally roasted beans. I had a hot latte with coconut milk. Nothing else to mask the coffee. The coffee has a rich flavor with accents you only find with freshly roasted beans. Think about bread. A slice of week old bread is like common coffee. This coffee is like bread hot from the oven. The aroma and flavor are exceptional. The only drawback is the location. They could easily outgrow this location once people discover them. read more

It was not busy during the week when I came by around 9am. They have a great book selection but ask that you read the books there, not like a take a book leave a book. Lots of delicious looking pastries and food items available for purchase. I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon and it was huge!! Enough for two meals. And it was delicious! I also ordered the blueberry muffin latte which was too sweet for me but still delicious. I would probably get less sweet next time! I can't wait to come back and try something else. I love how they had the mini library section and seats for reading and they had local vendor artwork and crafts in the shop for you to purchase. The food was all freshly made I got the avocado toast on a croissant and it was delicious. I also got the blood berry tea which was super refreshing for a warm day. The French toast latte was also really good if you like sweet drinks.

The place was busy, with a line of people all confidently ordering like they had discovered gold. The girl who took my order was warm, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. The coffee was delicious, the brisket taco absolutely hit the spot, and yes... I even bought one of their mugs, because apparently I now make emotional purchases over good coffee. I also took a stroll through the farmers market behind the coffee shop, which made the whole morning even better. I'll definitely be back... and, at this rate, probably leaving with another mug too

They gave her a number for her pastry and brought it out, but we had to go up to the counter to find our drinks after waiting several minutes and wondering. That all would have been great info to know when ordering initially. Definitely will be returning! Side note: If you're familiar with downtown Chandler, this won't come as a surprise, but since I'm not a Chandler-regular, I was a little surprised at the lack of parking aside from parallel parking just in front of the actual coffee shop. I first asked if there was a difference in drinks from what was on the menu and up on the board above. She answered snarky, "if it's up on the board and on the menu it's the same" Mind you, one said latte and the other did not, hence the question. I opted with what I normally get. She took my order and then while looking down, stated, "2% milk okay" I said sure then asked if whole was available. You would've thought I had asked for her to go milk the cow and bring it back. She was very annoyed, so I said 2% is fine. I paid for my coffee then stood and watched her began preparing it. I saw her add one quick pump of syrup so I said, could I maybe have one more pump. Again, you would've thought I was about to suck them dry of all syrup. She seemed annoyed and looked at the register and began to say what I assume was they charge for extra, so I quickly said never mind. All in all I was disappointed with my interaction. The coffee was good and the wrap was okay but I dunno if I'd go back.

We learned about the history of the dessert spot and how they're trying out some new ideas. Nice lady. Drinks (N/A): No drinks for me on this visit. Food (5/5): If you've never has a chimney cake, you're in for a treat. They're made to order and customizable. More so than anywhere I've ever seen. You choose your base, toppings, additions, and drizzles. I went with the traditional chimney cake with Biscoff cookies, vanilla ice cream, and Nutella drizzle. Outside of the dessert options, which are the way to go for first timers, if you're feeling adventurous, they also have one or two savory options. The chimney cakes are served warm and absolutely delicious. They're filling too so come with an appetite. It's one of those things everyone should try at least once in their lifetime. So cool to have them in Mesa!

I visited Organic Bean Café and instantly became obsessed with the banana coffee. The owner Rachel is so sweet and inspiring. You don't walk out with just a coffee in hand. You leave feeling happy and full of joy. This spot reminds me of the local cafés I used to love back home.
