Perfect place to go before a Rockies game. There were so many options, but I ended up choosing the chicken and biscuits. Let me start by saying this chicken was the size of my hand; I was shocked when it arrived. It was crispy, well seasoned, and juicy. The sunny side up eggs on top were great and the hot honey was tasty. Below the chicken were some of the, if not the best tasting biscuits I've ever had. Everything was cooked right but it just didn't taste that great and was honestly boring. Potatos felt like they had been thrown in the fryer one or two times more than necessary. My avocado was underripe and of the four of us no one "loved" their food. For the price it seems it should be more than just okay. The only thing that shined was the cronuts we ordered for the table. They were sweet, crunchy/soft and delicious. The one thing I would say to entirely avoid is their bloody mary. Mine was so underwhelming that I didn't even finish it. The pickled vegetables tasted almost rancid. Definitely not worth spending money on. This place was literally amazinggg. We went here for brunch for my friends birthday and it was really good. The ambiance is so cute and warm; they decorated it with Christmas decor too. It's located in the newly built McGregor Square which I had not been to since I moved away from denver prior to it being finished in 2021. Right behind the restaurant they had an ice skating rink and a Christmas tree so lots to do within walking distance. The food was delicious, we had the eggs Benny with short rib and French toast. I have been in here a couple of times for breakfast on the weekend. First time I got the basic breakfast, eggs, potatoes, bacon. Second time I got the brioche French toast. Both times the food was good and I can't complain. Both times it was super crowded and the second time I sat at the counter so I wouldn't have to wait. I noticed a huge difference in the service from counter to table. The staff at the counter are way more friendly and engage in conversation where servers at the tables are all about turn and burn. I took away one are because on both occasions the host / front door greeters were rude. I asked about the wait and they said if you don't have a reservation I should check the counter or go somewhere else. Came for brunch this morning (a Saturday) and made a reservation for 5 a few days prior. Two of us had bottomless mimosas and we felt incredibly rushed through the experience. The reservation says 2 hour max so we were planning to be there maybe 1.5 hours depending on how fast we finished our food. Food came quick, which was nice, but just after 40 minutes of sitting down, our server came and gave us the bill and asked if we wanted boxes, even though two of us were clearly still eating and had only gotten 1.5 mimosas. Our server kept coming around asking if we had cards even though we were all still finishing our drinks and were planning to have more, since it wasn't even an hour in. Got the blueberry pancakes (which they messed up for the maple bacon pancakes and I had to wait for 20 minutes while everyone else ate) and didn't receive the side of potatoes that I had ordered. Pancakes were a bit undercooked and nothing worth $15. Service pretty much stopped after bills were dropped. Left disappointed in the food and the service, and that's coming from a server myself. We visited The Original over the weekend and sampled several eats they will be serving at their Ugly Christmas Sweater Party on on December 17, 2021. The Ugly Sweater Party menu will feature an all-you-can-eat-and-drink menu featuring signature sips like Hot Spiced Rum Cider and bites like the "Everything Bagel" Deviled eggs, Chicken Sliders & Carrot Cake. Service was a bit touch-and-go when we first arrived (the wait staff was behind, visibly stressed and outright rude to us) but our waiter's attitude shifted once we got our first round of drinks (this took about 25 minutes). Ultimately The OG's food made up for shaky service at the beginning of our meal. Inspired by everything bagels, these "Everything Bagel" Deviled eggs were little bites of heaven. The recipe was a tasty variation of classic Deviled eggs and featured smoked jerky, capers and pickled red onion. The eggs had a nice savory flavor and were a hit with both Ross and I. The Chicken Sliders were hearty sized sliders served with french fries. The fried chicken was crunchy and juicy. The bun was soft and fluffy and the chicken crisp. So tasty; these were Ross' favorite. The Carrot Cake was dense and had a nice zing of ginger and carrot. The brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg gave the cake subtle spice. The cream cheese frosting was divine! We tried some drinks and eats from The Original's brunch menu. I had the Bloody Mary and the Buttermilk Chicken Waffle Sandwich. The "People's Choice" Bloody Mary is made with pepper Infused Vodka, Harissa, Horseradish and Herb Mix, Bacon, Pickled Okra, and Giardiniera. This Bloody Mary was bomb. It was salty and savory with subtle heat from the pepper and horseradish. That spice paired wonderfully with the sweetness from the tomatoes. The garden-fresh garnishes were a refreshing palate cleanser. The Buttermilk Chicken Waffle Sandwich is made with Maple Syrup, Barrel Aged Hot Sauce, and Sausage Gravy. Talk about comfort food! This sandwich was the ultimate combination of sweet & savory. The Barrel Aged Hot Sauce topped this dish off with a spicy kick. The heat from the hot sauce infused with the chicken made for an awesome peppery flavor. The drizzle of sweet syrup brought maple flavor notes forward. read more

The train has definitely helped us get downtown a bit more and opened us for heading down there for just a meal and not making a day of it. So that brunch - sat outside on the patio and people watched everyone before a Rockies game. I had the express yourself and it was the perfect coffee cocktail. The hubby had a Bloody Mary with a little buffet as garnish. We began with the sliders - that were absolutely delish as savory sweet. We also split an order of deviled eggs. I had the short rib Benedict - so rich and decedent. So much so I could finish it - okay it could have been the sliders - but I savored every bite. I have no complaints about the food or the drinks - I will say that the service was a bit slow - refills, ordering, paying just slow not enough to get angry about but enough that is was annoying.
