Every time I've been they've always had really good costumer service, and the food is always on point!

We first visited Neal's before the reboot. Mr. Neal himself is a pretty interesting character. But we found the food bland and did not go back. I just tried it again for lunch recently--had one of their specials on the board, a fried pork steak with sides and dessert included. Got grilled zucchini and mashed potatoes for the sides. The service was first-rate throughout--polite and attentive. The restaurant was pretty empty but I've eaten in empty places before and not gotten good service so I don't take it for granted. The fried pork steak is really chicken fried pork loin, served with cream gravy. And it's quite good, nice and tender with a very crunchy, flavorful outside. There's enough seasoning in the gravy and breading to notice--mostly salt, but that's fine. I would order chicken fried steak here. The zucchini was OK, it had some seasoning and a little texture left. The mashed potatoes were interesting. They are real (I asked), but they are so smooth that they eat like a good box mix. So if you like box mix (and I know some people do) then you would be OK with these real ones too. I ate them but would probably get something else. For dessert I had the banana pudding, and it was a very good finish--sliced bananas and a cookie (not a nilla wafer, something else) all together. Everything is served at once (even though the waiter was attentive and refilled my drink twice), but the bowl kept the pudding from warming up too much. This puts it back on my list as a place to think about. If a group wanted this kind of food I would suggest Neal's over Cotton Patch, even though they don't have chicken fried bacon. read more

Very happy that this establishment has been restored to it's former glory of when it first opened many years ago. Our server was Sue and she was very friendly and patient with us. (We took forever to choose an entree!) Her service was friendly and prompt, but not intrusive. Hubby and I started out with appetizers. The Fried Zucchini was perfect; Hot, crisp, yet tender on the inside and the Stuffed Cream Cheese Jalapenos were tasty; crispy exterior with a creamy center. Hubby enjoyed the Mushroom Burger with fries. The only thing he wasn't fond of was that the fries were greasy and soggy at the bottom of the pile. The rest were fine and crisp. I had the BBQ Sliced Beef Plate with a stuffed baked potato. The brisket was a little dry, but very tender and tasted good; the sauce was good and tangy, and the potato was large and stuffed well with cheese, green onion and sour cream- but could have been a little hotter. We ordered Blackberry pie to go. I grabbed a taste after I snapped the pic and it is good! The new owner Hector came around to see and introduced himself and asked if everything was to our liking during our meal. We told him how glad we were that Neal's was back! I write this review feeling very disappointed in Neal's for what they thought might be a good advertising idea. They had someone drive around in our neighborhood and use black electrical tape to tape up at least 18 flyers/menus to every mailbox. I politely asked the young man to not do that and please go take them down and he said he would but yet I watched him drive away and leave the subdivision. I did call Neal's to voice y frustration and while the young lady said she would take care of it, she didn't seem to interested in hearing my displeasure. I like thinking out of the box for marketing and advertising, but when it makes a place look trashy it isn't a good idea. The food is pretty good and I enjoy it there, but this was very disappointing! read more

We are big fans of the reboot of Neal's. We eat lunch here occasionally on Friday's, every meal has been good. Neal's recently catered a large function for us. When you need downhome food at a reasonable price head to Neal's. The employees are friendly and make you feel like family. The specials from 11 to 3 on weekdays include delicious dessert. They also make the best ranch dressing! Give it a try. read more

We went there New Years Eve at 6pm. First time and wanted to try the place since my Dad had suggested the place for awhile. It wasn't very busy. We were seated fast and took our order. The fried mushrooms were very tasty! I got the Chicken fried steak. My Wife the fried catfish, and our two kids got grill cheese and grilled chicken breast. The Food was awesome and tasty. And my Son tried Chicken fried steak and the fried mushrooms for a first time which was a shock. Both our kids are autistic and extremely picky on foods. The food is always fresh, and I have never ordered anything bad here, especially for the price. Service is personal and always top notch, and I feel like you never have to ask for anything. I went here last week with my family and we had a great time. The waiter was great and the food was okay, unfortunately my husband found a crunched up cockroach in his soda. We assume it was from the ice machine, but still it was very disgusting. When we told the waiter he just said, "Um I'm sorry?" I believe this place has really gone down hill and will not be back after this experience. read more

The desserts are to die for. I thoroughly enjoyed the The jampacked flavor in the hamburger steak with brown gravy and a loaded baked potato. Seriously zero stars if I could. I ordered a chicken fried chicken dinner w/ broccoli and a loaded baked potato. The chicken fried chicken was tiny and flavorless. The broccoli (also completely unseasoned) was so over steamed it was mashed together in the to go container it came in. The icing on the cake was the loaded baked potato which was shockingly huge, but of course...the only condiment in there was one single cup of butter which I'm pretty sure was meant for the hard dinner roll that came w/ the meal. Literally a huge plain baked potato that I paid extra for to be fully loaded...one server in the whole place which is tough, but she mentioned on 4 occasions how the meal wasn't paid for prior to the order being brought out. Once the meal was paid for, (very routinely w/ cash, the money handling part went swell of course) all of the items STILL weren't in the bag. read more

I came her out of curiosity and was pleasantly surprised. Best CFS and mashed potatoes with gravy around. I was familiar with the name from the closed one on Steubner Airline Rd. The menu was similar but the food here didn't compare. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. read more

The food was good. I got the chicken, bacon, ranch sandwich with coleslaw and the potatoes. The sandwich was huge and delicious. I would definitely be back to get it again. The coleslaw, not so good. I have been to this place many, many times. A year or so ago, it closed for several months. After it reopened, the food was a thousand percent better!! This is the only place in the area where I can order a chicken fried steak and cut it with my fork. It is tender and flavorful. We also love their banana pudding. Get the big size for dessert. Our food arrived and my husbands BLT was burnt to where the bacon looked like salad bits. I ordered the Buffalo burger and before I arrived home around 1hr later we had pulled over so I could vomit. My night was pure hell after that as anyone who has had severe food poisoning knows. Yesterday was our first visit to Neal's since the ownership change and new name. I'm pleased to report that The Original Neal's is a marked improvement from the last owner/management. The service was excellent and the chicken fried steaks were properly prepared. The potatoes, on both orders, were fresh, not frozen. Unfortunately, the fried Okra was the yucky frozen, pre-breaded variety and disappointingly oily tasting. When will restaurants get it? Anyway, welcome back Neal's. We missed you. read more

I can't believe this place still exists....they need a visit from Gordon Ramsey! I turned down several great restaurants to give this place another chance. Food was delicious when it was located on Stuebner Airline but such a let down now. The only thing good was the sweet tea and waitress was nice. Looking at the menu and remembered how good the onion rings and fried pickles were back in the day....not even listed on menu! How do you expect to sell the dish if not featured on your menu. When we inquired about it...they said "yes we sell them ...lots of things aren't on our menu"....Seriously!!!! When served....the onion rings were hot but very soggy and fried in some very old batter and the pickles omg fried in old grease w/ old salty catfish batter that was so caked that you couldn't taste pickle! On the real, i was afraid when my fish came out it would be from same gross grease...hmmm and it was. This was the worst food experience...we paid $$$ for garbage ! Never again! read more

Amazing - brought back the original menu from Tommy Neal and more importantly brought back the original quality as the original Chef of Neal's is now the owner. This is the first time we've been back since it has opened up under new management. It could definitely use a face lift on the inside. The service was good but all verbal exchanges were very awkward and a little uncomfortable. The corn nuggets and mac n' cheese were delicious!! The rest of the food was very bland. Still glad to see them open again, since they have been a staple of Spring. Few easy changes they could make, but we left with full bellies for fairly cheap and now we're ready for a nap! Its good if you dont mind adding a bunch of salt and pepper to get some flavor. read more
