The drink menu and dining menu are pretty extensive so you'll definitely find something you'll love and the servers always have great recommendations. This was a fun Magical Dining experience at The Osprey! Everything we tried was delicious, and the seafood in particular really stood out. The mussels were super fresh and served with a flavorful broth that was perfect with the grilled bread. The rainbow trout piccata was another favorite, tender, delicate, and bright with the lemony piccata sauce and capers. A really nice combination of flavors that felt a little more interesting than your typical piccata. The key lime bar was the perfect finish. The Osprey is one of those restaurants that immediately gives you the impression that you're in for an elevated dining experience. Located in Baldwin Park, the restaurant has a polished, upscale atmosphere without feeling overly formal. The dining room is modern and inviting, with warm lighting, a lively atmosphere, and a nice bar area. It's definitely a nice setting for a dinner out, although the food during our visit didn't quite live up to the atmosphere. We started with the ceviche and Little Gem Caesar, and unfortunately, both were pretty unremarkable. Neither was necessarily bad, but there just wasn't much flavor or anything that made either dish stand out. With ingredients like chili crisp and lime listed with the ceviche, I expected it to have a little more going on. The wood-grilled half chicken with lemon-herb sauce and shishito pepper was similar. It sounded great on the menu, but the chicken was somewhat dry and again lacked the flavor I was hoping for. The rainbow trout piccata, however, was easily the standout entrée. The fish was flavorful and well prepared, and the roasted potatoes paired really nicely with the brown butter, capers, and lemon. This was definitely one of the highlights of the meal. Dessert was another winner. The brownie à la mode with dulce de leche, vanilla ice cream, and peanuts was delicious. The combination of the rich brownie, ice cream, dulce de leche, and crunch from the peanuts worked really well together and ended the meal on a high note. Service was okay overall. Nothing particularly stood out in either direction, it was adequate and we were taken care of, but it wasn't a memorable part of the experience. Overall, The Osprey has a great atmosphere and there were some definite highlights, particularly the trout and dessert. However, with several dishes lacking flavor and the chicken being on the dry side, the meal was too inconsistent for me to rate it higher. For me, this was a solid 3-star experience. read more

We came for Magical Dining this week and despite making a reservation on a Thursday evening, it was not very busy. The menu had four choices per course rather then the typical three which was nice and it was a good variety of choices. The mussels were a huge portion and the broth was so good! I was disappointed by my steak frites. The parmesan truffle fries ($3 upgrade) were really good but my steak was a super small portion and not very flavorful at all. Easily one of my favorite restaurants in central Florida. Some of the best seafood I've had. Everything tastes fresh. I tried the whole Branzino my first visit and was amazed with how juicy it was. This time around I tried the Cioppino and was not disappointed. The spicy arrabbiata gave it the perfect kick. The food here always seems to exceed expectations and the service is always friendly. This is our go-to spot for girls night out. And for good reason. Nestled in the middle of Baldwin Park shopping area. This restaurant provides a nice, fine dining environment for us. Girls to chat, eat and drink. They're happy hour. Selections cannot be beat whether it's libations or bites. Service here is super friendly and attentive. They are also very helpful when deciding which menu item to choose. The enthusiasm from the servers hostesses and bartenders regarding their food and drinks is just as intoxicating as their drinks. It's been a few years since I've dined at The Osprey. I used to come here often, most times because they do a good happy hour, and they still do but I noticed that some things have definitely changed. One of my favorite happy hour items use to be their fish dip. It had this intense smokey flavor and various seasonings like fresh dill and capers. No capers that I could see, the smoky flavor was so subtle that I wondered if it was even smoked at all. It used to come with house made chips and now they've downgraded it to ritz crackers which I have to admit, was a huge let down. I know things are getting more expensive but just charge the extra buck or two for the house made chips, don't give me some cheap crackers from a box. Oysters are still very good, the calamari was still good. A new item on the happy hour menu this time was the grouper sliders and those were just not good I'm sorry to say. The fish tasted dry and it was bland; I literally only took a bite and left the rest. Someone in our party ordered the steak frites and I got to try some of that; very, very good! I would definitely order that again. My favorite thing I have to say were the mussels and frites. I wanted to drink that broth like soup, soooo flavorful! Amazing service! Jacob could not have been more attentive to our needs! And that's one of the reasons I'll keep coming back to the Osprey.... Another great visit to the Osprey! This time I tried the mussels and the smash burger - and of course we came for happy hour! Love that happy hour extends to Saturday. The mussels were actually a big standout and some of the best I've had recently - I'd definitely order again! They came with a side of fries which was a nice touch. This weekend was my first time dinning at the Osprey. Had no expectation going in other than a friend telling me it was good. We had a reservations at 6:10 PM and we noticed that they have a happy hour until 7 PM... and who does not like happy hour! We pretty much ordered most of them and they were very tasty. Unfortunately, I could not try them all due to allergies. I communicated my allergies and Jacob were able to provide recommendations, even went back to the chef to confirm that some were same and even provided me options like veggies (instead of crackers) so I could enjoy the fish dip. I could not taste the slider or the calamari by my friends liked the calamari not the sliders so much. However, everything else was excellent. I ended up also ordering the local fish, which was excellent . And due to my allergies, I couldn't enjoy any desserts on the menu, but Jacob was super accommodating to serve me some ice cream and glad he did. It tasted homemade. The restaurant is at an excellent location. We learned that the first Friday of every month outside they have some vendors which made it great to walk after. The restaurant itself was clean including the bathrooms. Parking was a little bit more challenging, but thankfully, I was able to find something on the street. But this is something not uncommon for the area so not a big deal for me. Overall, a great experience and I will definitely come back! read more

We come here occasionally and love the food. This time I had to post a review because our server, Jacob, was amazing. Very attentive and treated us like we were at a 5 star restaurant. Never had an empty drink, he switched out the silverware and was so sweet and professional. Please let home see this because he represents your restaurant well. Tonight they had a special of homemade hotdogs and we got our favorite smash burger. As usual the food was tasty, filling and fresh. But this experience was the best we ever had here. Such a letdown unfortunately. It was my pick for Mother's Day. I was swayed by some very glowing reviews, which contributed to my high expectations. Made a reservation for 7 p.m. Arrived a bit early and had to kill some time at the bar, as they were only seating on-time. I ordered an espresso martini, which looked more like a shot than a cocktail. It wasn't great. Not the right consistency. Weak color. Once seated at our table, my party of 3 ordered 2 apps. We all agreed the Ceviche was the most bland we have ever tasted. Served sans lime wedges, which might have helped, but not much. The Crush Puppies were also meh. Rather small portion that appeared to be fried a bit too long. The other cocktail I ordered from their bar menu (grilled cheese and pickle one) was again miniature-looking. Our entrées were a step up from our apps, at least. I was very disappointed that my top pick, the Cioppino, had just sold out. Guess that was a popular dish on Mother's Day. My daughter's Truffle Bucatini had a satisfying flavor. Service was fine. The hostess, however, wasn't all that friendly or helpful. The interior is nicely styled and has an upscale feel with verdant plants tucked here and there. The central bar has an enticing vibe. Beautiful restaurant located close to Lake Baldwin. We had reservations for brunch at 11 am. When you walk in you will notice a large bar in the center of the restaurant. They also have an open kitchen where you can view the chefs whipping up your order. The place was pretty empty but had filled up a little bit more by around noon. Prices are steep but the food was high quality and fresh. Our waitress was prompt and attentive to our group of 6. I ordered the wedge salad and a side of poached egg. The egg was perfectly poached. My wedge salad was very tasty and had a large piece of bacon in top with plenty of blue cheese dressing which I loved. It had some caramelized onions which added a bit of sweetness in addition to some raw red onions. I would've preferred more onions but didn't ask for more so that's on me. One of my friends ordered the shrimp and grits with the hot sauce on the side. She was not a fan of the grits saying it lacked flavor and was very buttery. When she added the hot sauce over the top which is how it was intended to be served, it was more palatable for her but she couldn't finish it. Another friend was able to swap the grits for spinach. I'm not sure if there was an extra charge but it was nice that they accommodated her request. For drinks, a few of us ordered the carajillo from the brunch drink menu for $10. For my 2000th review, I wanted to review one of my favorite restaurants in Orlando (besides Taco Bell, of course). I'll start by saying I felt like an Osprey (seafood eating bird of prey) eating here. Oh what I wouldn't give to fly around the restaurant picking food from every diners' plates and head into the kitchen with my Osprey gang and prey upon every delicious morsel of seafood at this place. On our first trip, we had the petite seafood tower and wow, what a dish. I'd be happy with this and a few cocktails honestly. The Amberjack was also very delicious and a good backup for the Snapper, which they (sadly) ran out of. The second trip was a tasting dinner and it was out of this world amazing. There were 6 of us and the staff at the restaurant was so hospitable and amazing. Our server Alex was outstanding and set all of the wine pairings with the food and she did an amazing job. I wonder if she knows what wine to pair with a Taco Supreme? I bet she does. There were 9 courses spread over almost 3 hours and we all left super full. I won't review each course, but know that each was made with fresh ingredients, creativity, and love. Everything from the charcuterie grazing board to the oysters and scallops to the lobster roll to the tilefish to the steak to the desserts was fabulous. Thanks to Amber who put the whole thing together along with the chefs in the kitchen who came out after to say hi. Also thanks to all the staff who assisted with the delivery and plate clearing. Let's not forget the dishwasher who earned their pay in washing silverware alone! Great restaurant with a great atmosphere and wonderful staff. If that isn't 5 stars, then I don't know what is! We visited the Osprey on Mother's Day and it was a good experience, but not great. In full transparency, it seemed like maybe they were understaffed and the restaurant tables were full the entire time we were there. We arrived at 12:40 for our 1pm reservation and were told to come back at 1pm. Our group of 4 sat at the bar (which was shockingly completely empty). We were seated at 1pm and given menus, but after about 10 minutes we were approached by the manager and asked to move to another table because they needed our table for another party. No big deal - we moved. We were given the cruller for our inconvenience. We ordered shortly after seating but it took about 45 minutes to get the broiled oyster appetizer out (which was only for 2 of the 4 in our party) and another 40 minutes for our meals after that. Some of the food was great - the burger and mahi sandwich. But there were some big misses. My beet salad felt like a side salad. The chicken had no seasoning and some bits were very mushy. The kale was very tough and the goat feta seemed like it had run out. Another person in our party ordered crab cake Benedict and the dish was cold. Our server was busy with many tables the entire time - so we don't blame him for not making it back to our table after the food arrived. We would definitely give them another go, as the elements were all there, but I think it was too busy with too little help - next visit would be on a calmer day. They gave us chocolate chip cookies to go for the experience and I have to say - I don't even like chocolate chip cookies and these were absolutely delicious. read more

She went over the menu and happy hour specials with Great detail to make sure we got what we wanted. I personally liked the Florida oysters the best, and they have an oyster happy hour Monday - Friday! The baked oyster really won me over - it was savory and delicious. Quite filling too! I also appreciated the creativity of the Tuna Tartare, served in an Indian-style Pani Puri! I wish it had a little extra something, it needed a little more flavor (spice? Truffle? Our party of four visited for the first time on a weeknight while in Orlando for a conference. Really like the setting in a charming area near Lake Baldwin. The inside of the restaurant has lots of interesting features and ambience. We really enjoyed all of the locally-sourced food dishes and drinks we tried except for the margarita they made for one of us that wasn't on the menu. We were disappointed by the number of menu items that were unavailable - an entree, one of the two vegetable sides, and two of the four dessert options on what is already a fairly short menu. If it had been a busy weekend night, that might have made sense but not on a slow weeknight. Felt like poor planning that could have easily been avoided. Service staff was very responsive and informative. Not the most polished we've seen at a nice restaurant like The Osprey, but certainly sufficient to match the vibe and overall feel. read more

I am giving a four out of five for my overall experience. This restaurant is beautiful and most of the staff were great! My experience was hindered by how cold I felt in the restaurant even with wearing a light jacket. It was a cold night and the restaurant AC was also blowing. I would like to say that outside my discomfort, the food and my experience with our server was phenomenal! I tried west coast oysters which have become a favorite of mine now! Absolutely delicious! My food was flavorful and the various spices danced around my mouth! I was well satisfied after my meal. I also enjoyed the warm cookie given out after our meal. When the Magical Dining menus come out every year, I examine each one, assign them a score, and go to the top five or six. Every year, no matter where the restaurant is, or how many times I've been there before. I lucked out this time, though, because the Osprey's menu was banging, and I had never been here before. This was my opportunity to strike. Ambiance was upscale old world Florida. I can't explain why. You'll hopefully just agree with me when you see it. It was accentuated by the Ernest Hemingway quote on the wall. It was a very beautiful spot, like each of its sister restaurants. Service was on point, too. Our server had a good command of the whole menu, especially the drink menu. She guided me towards the right mocktail to pick. She checked in on us the right amount, and the food came out promptly and of proper temp all night. Bravo. As for the food, I'll outline it here. Apps Josper Roasted Pork Belly (stone fruit bbq, grilled summer greens). This was their 20th anniversary dish, and it was excellent. Well cooked, massively thicc slices of pork, accented well with the sweet bbq sauce, and those green were nice, too, like a skinnier bok choy. Very good. Crush Puppies (blue crab, Florida sweet corn, green goddess). These, on the other hand, avoid these like the plague. Don't get me wrong, they were fine, soft hush puppies with a crisp exterior. But the fact that blue crab was the first listed ingredient was laughable. There were a few molecules in there, but really, just skip this and get the Smoked Fish Dip. Mains Swordfish Milanese (bagna càuda aioli, broccolini, meyer lemon). This thing was wonderful. It was pounded and breaded, like a swordfish schnitzel. It sat atop of a nicely spicy aioli and there was an acidic tang from the lemon around. The broccolini was a non-issue. Broccolini is such a useless veg. A very good dish overall. Squid Fusille (pesto, marinated tomato, meyer lemon). Excellent, unique pasta dish! Tender, delicious squids swimming around a good amount of fusille, a wonderful pesto throughout that was accented perfectly with chunks of pecans sprinkled atop the dish. Pops of those acidic tomatoes every once in a while, just a well composed dish. Desserts White Chocolate Panna Cotta (brown butter streusel, apple butter). I love a good panna cotta. This one was white chocolate to a T. Perfectly sweet, contrasted against the very sweet streusel and the very tart apple butter. This dessert was very fun. I recommend. Cannoli Trio (orange-cardamom, lemon pistachio, chocolate hazelnut). I love a flight. These cannoli were definitely not traditional, so if you're Italian, beware. But they were each filled with lovely cremes that were very strong and fragrant. Each one unique, each one delicious. A great way to end the meal. Overall, this was a stunner of a meal. Can't go wrong with coming here for Magical Dining this year. read more

3.5 Stars Fresh seafood, a stylish atmosphere, and good service. I've come here several times over the past few years and I think everything here is good. I think my favorite thing to eat here is their Oyster Happy Hour; it used to be $1, then $1.50, and now $2 (RIP $1 Oysters). The oysters are fresh and taste amazing; they source locally and provide support for building oyster habitats. I love that they provide both cocktail and mignonette sauces, and are super generous with their lemons. The other seafood is ok. Everything is cooked well, but I think the overall flavor and portion sizes are lackluster given the prices. I can't say that anything I've eaten here (except the oysters) is worth raving about, but it's solid, good food. Service is a win here! I've never had a bad time with any of the workers here and I love how friendly they are. Overall, I love the vibes and commitment to sustainability. It's a great spot if you enjoy Happy Hour deals. We visited the osprey on a Friday night. We had a reservation, and we were seated immediately. The menu here really had so much interesting stuff that we wanted to try, but neither of us really like stone fruit so we were much more inclined to play it safe. Being in season, they were using a lot of stone fruit on the menu. We started with a half dozen mid Atlantic oysters and calamari. The oysters were lovely, served with a really nice mignonette, horseradish, cocktail sauce, lemon, and another sauce (can't remember what it was). The calamari could've used a little less time in the fryer - the outside was crispy, but the inside was pretty chewy. For mains, I was very tempted to try the pasta they had, but I'm a sucker for anything corn so I had to go with the fresh catch. The buttered popcorn purée was honestly so lovely that I have no regrets about the decision. The fish was cooked perfectly. The only drawback for me was the mostarda - I think that it cut through the richness and heaviness well, but it was just too sweet for me. I would've been happier with something citrus or just less sweet instead, but overall the dish worked. I was much happier with our visit this time, and I'd probably recommend the osprey to those in the area. The service was really good, and I like the way they've decorated their interior. Went last night for magical dining/girls night out. It was my 2nd time here and their 1st. The restaurant was pretty busy but thankfully we had reservations. I highly recommend reservations especially on the weekends. Parking is a bit tricky but there are nearby lots. The osprey is in the heart of Baldwin park. If you are not familiar with the area it is really pretty and we'll maintained. Very walkable and great for a date night. Plenty of bars nearby, a brewery and a cigar bar right around the corner if you want to extend your day/night out. Our server was Amanda and she was amazing from beginning to end! She was really helpful with recommending the perfect cocktail for my friend and super attentive throughout. I had the crush puppies for my appetizer, swordfish Milanese for my entree and panna cotta for dessert. Also had an espresso martini and old fashioned. Everything was top tier! I had to take half my meal home so I could enjoy dessert there. The portions are plentiful. My friends and i made sure to get different items so we can all try a bit of everything. There were no complaints at all. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. You can tell the chefs are super talented and they use quality ingredients. After finding out that all seats were full for Seito Sushi, I decided to make a reservation for The Osprey instead. I am so happy I did. It was a nice crowd when I arrived, but I was seated at 8:15 during my reservation time. I did the magical dining menu for 40 dollars, as well as having an old fashioned (16 dollars) for my drink. The old fashioned was boozy and enjoyable while I waited for my food. I took the pork belly 20th anniversary special for my appetizer. It was one of the best I had. The pork belly was tender and flavorful with the stone fruit BBQ sauce. It almost melted in my mouth. The wonderful flavors gave my taste buds a piggy back ride. I waited a while for my entree, the salmon. It was well worth the wait. The salmon came to the requested medium rare. It was fresh, tender, and juicy. There kept the skin on, but it was easy to peel it off. The charred cabbage was cooked very nicely, and the shishito peppers added a good flavor. The sauce was rich and had a citrus and wine taste, making it enjoyable. For dessert, the tiramisu was light enough for me to finish, but I did taste something a bit old and gooey. However, I still enjoyed it. The service was very good and helpful. I am so happy I followed my servers recommendations as they were all enjoyable. While I did wait a bit for the food, the cocktail made me relax to the music and crowd, and the excellent quality of the food made the wait worth it. The atmosphere looked upscale with the darker lighting and the crowd talking, but nothing too loud or overbearing. The bathrooms looked clean and smelled nice. Parking can be busy during Saturday night, but normally there is free parking in the Publix complex. It's a short walk afterwards. I am very happy that I went with the Osprey as my alternative choice since Seito was full. The food was delicious, drink was boozy, and service was great. I'm back! We went for an apero (pork belly and ceviche) and cocktails (dirty martinis and old fashions). The service was prompt, and pleasant. We went during early dinner hours and the place was busy but it felt comfortable. The ambiance at Osprey is clean, modern, alchemist-traveler vibe with traditional elements that make you stay for that second cocktail- which we did. Thank you for returning to what works. Food was underwhelming. Temperature was off for multiple items. The lobster blt had a lot of bavob but was 90% bread, and very little lobster. Cookie was delicious. Drinks were good but took while to get. read more
