Great experience. I recommend the breaded pork tenderoin sandwich. I visited THE OTHER PLACE (Olathe location) for the first time recently on a Sunday at a quarter 'til noon. Host and hostess greeted me at the entrance. They thanked me for coming and assured me that though it was a little early the kitchen was in full swing. I was quickly seated and my amazing server "Amanda" was right there to describe specials and answer my questions. I enjoyed the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich. Bigger than the bun! Perfect one-half inch thick, hand breaded and seasoned just right. The brioche bun was substantial and did not fall apart. The accompanying crinkle cut fries were fresh and hot. Amanda encouraged me to come back in and use the "daily specials" to familiarize myself with other great items on the menu. I will return soon. read more

We walked in on a very busy Wednesday night for my daughter's basketball team dinner. I had never been there so wasn't sure what to expect but it felt like a Friday night with how busy it was. There were so many TVs throughout the restaurant so I can see it being a great place to watch games. I wasn't sure what to order so we went with the Wednesday special: 2 for $22. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip and the Chicken Alfredo (Our homemade alfredo sauce, grilled chicken tenders & four cheeses baked then brushed with garlic butter and sprinkled with garlic parmesan seasoning) and Four Star (Pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers and mozzarella cheese) Pizzas. The spinach artichoke dip was really good! I thought it might have come out cold because of the parmesan cheese on top was not melted but once I mixed the dip, it was perfect. The pizzas were ok. The chicken alfredo was really dry. The chicken itself was really dry so it definitely needed more alfredo to try to offset the dryness. I was scraping the dip dish with the pizza so I could finish a couple slices of the alfredo pizza. The four star was better and wasn't as dry. The service wasn't bad. I know large parties can be a lot to take care of and it seemed like they had a few different people helping out. My God brother loves this place so we visit this restaurant every year for his birthday, he is here multiple times a week. I am very familiar with their chicken strips but this time I got their chicken sandwich. I didn't like their chicken sandwich came disassembled. The bun it's served on is a brioche bun and the chicken was moist but lacked flavor. I ordered honey mustard and was disappointed that their honey mustard was very watery and not sauce-y. It lacked flavor...it was fizzy milk. Their wings are cooked well, they give off kettle cooked but I think that they fry them. Then you choose what kind of sauce you want on top or can order them naked. Their house salad is nice, I really despise iceberg lettuce so it was nice that they serve mixed greens. Their salad has a house made balsamic dressing which is good. Their servers are very nice and friendly, so that is always consistent and a positive. This place is decent not my first choice, but if you are hungry it will take care of that. read more

This place is always hopping. Parking is a plenty. Friendly service. You get seated right away. They have daily specials and a happy hour. Fair selection of beer and cocktails. Well known for their pizza but they have a large menu to choose from. This is a sports bar so plenty of tvs. Large bar and some outside seating. My wife loves the Philly cheese steak. I downloaded Yelp just to make this review. It was AWFUL! I never complain, ever. My husband and I went for a date and the service was awful. We had an accumulation of 3 servers, and they never came to see us other than when we first arrived. The food was ALL late and cold. It took then 34 minutes it bring our food out- and I HAD to go get the server. A random server, smoking, because the THREE we had weren't around. and I ordered a pizza... a pizza. It was awful, tasted like a Lunchable. Nothing was quality. The waitress who was supposedly assigned to us couldn't close out our ticket, so she said to wait until another lady could come give us our check while she handled a party of 6 across the restaurant. At our visit, we wanted to enjoy the nice day on the patio. Would not recommend! Tables are covered in a thick layer of dust/pollen. Unfortunately they also allow smoking on the patio and after moving tables a couple times, we were still unable to avoid the second-hand smoke. It tasted great, with a nice amount of chicken and fresh veggies on a bed of crisp and crunchy tortilla chips. The house salsa added a good amount of medium heat. I found the service to be welcoming and attentive. The seating area was clean and spacious, with a large oval bar in the middle, a tremendous amount of TVs tuned to many different sports channels, classic rock background music, and a spacious patio, but no games. Lunch items were reasonably priced, including an unlimited lunch with single topping pizza, soup and salad for $7.99. They also offer a happy hour (3-6 M-F) and daily food and drink specials. Great take out family deal. 12" pizza, two fresh salads, 2 kids meals and a 2 liter for $29. Their pizza is always great and tonight's takeout combo minus onions and green peppers was super good. Salads had everything you want had were very fresh. Chicken tenders in the kids meal were huge and looked like fish. Very good. The Patron Pineapple margarita they serve on Thursdays during their Tiki nights are AMAZING! They are delicious, not too sweet and strong! We have gone there multiple times on Thursday evenings when they have live music on the deck. It is a fun, laid back atmosphere. Been here a few times with friends who live close by and it's a good, convenient place for food & drinks. Happy hour wines are very reasonably priced and have enjoyed several delicious meals. There are a lot a families with young kids playing video games and even some practicing baseball pitches in the yard outside. The BIG PROBLEM ... the music is so gawd awful LOUD that you can hardly hear yourself think, much less have an easy conversation with someone across the table from you. We asked the delightful server about this and she said if someone turns it down the manager will just turn it up again. Too bad. This is a nice neighborhood establishment that will keep up from coming back very often because of the blaring music. read more

We used Uber Eats to have dinner delivered from The Other Place - first time trying this restaurant. We ordered two entrees and an appetizer. When our food was dropped off, we brought it inside and realized that our appetizer was not included. We immediately called the restaurant. We told them we didn't get our whole order. The guy who answered the phone said, "Oh, you're missing your spinach dip, right? I'll get you a manager". The manager got on the phone and said it was their error, that the hostess brought up the two entrees for the Uber Eats driver, not knowing the order wasn't complete. She told us we could come and pick it up from the restaurant if we still wanted it. We asked her why would we drive 30 minutes round trip to pick up an item that we had already paid a service fee, a delivery fee and a tip for, when it was their mistake. She said there was nothing she could do and that we should contact Uber Eats. We again asked if there was something that the restaurant would for us, asking if they could give us a credit for an appetizer, since they made the mistake on our order. She was adamant that the restaurant would not do anything to try to make up for their mistake to these first time customers. On a side note, the cajun chicken pepper jack wrap container dry, tough chicken and had absolutely no flavor/seasoning. The honey ham club was on super dry bread, contained a single thinly sliced tomato and had no honey mustard sauce. My husband said it was the worst sub he's ever had to pay for. Unfortunately the spinach artichoke dip probably would have been the only appetizing part of the meal, but we will never know. We will never frequent this restaurant again and will not recommend this restaurant to any of our friends. With all of the choices of restaurants in the area, it's too bad that this restaurant doesn't attempt to make their customers satisfied when they acknowledge that the error was their mistake. read more

The servers are hit and miss, the food is just okay, and the prices are a little higher than what you might expect for what you're getting. Whenever I get the hankering for bar fare type food, The Other Place is my next stop! Whether it is chicken strips, shrimp basket, philly cheese steak, breaded mushrooms or pizza you are looking for, this place is a step above the rest. I recommend the taco pizza and the chicken strip basket for sure. Oh and the onion rings are battered in house and amazing! The service is great but we always sit at the bar. The draft beer selection is ever changing which as a beer geek I really enjoy trying new beers and they always have something for me to try. Great place to watch sports. Numerous TVs and the KC teams are always on. They even have a DJ on Sundays during NFL games that turns off the commercials and plays music during the breaks. Plus 22oz drafts of domestics are only $3.50 on Sundays. I am quickly becoming a regular at The Other Place and in no way is that a bad thing! read more

I don't normally go south of College Blvd without good reason (e.g. Fork & Screen = good reason) but the friend I was meeting down there had been working all day and didn't want to drive. I indulged. Service was attentive, and while there were a bunch of delicious-looking burgers on the menu, I just wasn't that hungry. I ordered some garlic breadsticks with marinara which ended up being a hard, dry, and dough-y. Thumbs down. No shortage of TV, trivia, or online poker.
