This one star is for the service. For people with kids, you can't bring them inside. They can't borrow the restroom, or stand there while you order takeout. The man working at the bar was extremely rude in throwing us out. He was also hard of hearing. We repeated several times asking politely whether we could order takeout. He said we could, but we had to take our kid outside. As we're leaving, he kept on yelling at us to get out. I get that this is an adult only sort of place, but at 9pm this is the only place we could get food after a long day in the canyon. We have no problems abiding by their rules, but his rudeness was absolutely uncalled for. read more

At first I was skeptical, but this ended up being a nice surprise after a long day traveling. My husband and son ordered the Ribeye dinner with salad and baked potatoes and I had the brisket sandwich with fries. Everything was cooked perfect and tasted great! Not a place to stop with kids, must be over 21 (our son had to show ID to come in). It is a bar. Our server was pleasant and attentive, never had to ask for a refill on water and soda. The ribeye steak tasted amazing and is locally sourced! The wait staff were very friendly and outgoing, they even gave us a free dessert because they were impressed that we finished the 24 oz steak. Wouldn't come back again unfortunately. The service was quite slow even though they weren't all that busy. But they were friendly enough. My beer wasn't that cold(which is a small detail but definitely adds to the bad review) after walking around Bryce all day and looking forward to an ice cold beer, it was kinda disappointing lol. The food was also sub par. For a $32 12oz steak you have to dress your own salad and potato?? With sour cream packets?? AND the "garlic roll" was just a bland biscuit! It kind of kept getting worse and we just had to laugh. My sister had the brisket and said it was okay, kinda fatty. The fried pickles also lacked flavour and were kinda soggy. Edited: There is no hostess. No one greeted us, acknowledged us, or offered us service as we waited for 5 min. The owner commented to this review suggesting I may have gone to the wrong place instead of acknowledging where they could improve their service. I won't return or recommend anyone to go here. I'm not sure why I wasn't offered service? We were the third party waiting in line and the gentleman in charge of seating everyone acknowledged the two parties ahead of ours, but never our party. When it was our turn to be seated I didn't receive any kind of acknowledgement or greeting. We stood there waiting and gentleman acting as host just sat down and ignored us. We were the only guests standing in line w masks. It didn't look like they were enforcing or encouraging guests to wear masks. I'm from Texas and I take my steaks and beers pretty seriously. This place has one of the best rib-eyes I've had since being in Utah! If you're anywhere near the Bryce Canyon / Red Canyon area...make the trip to this place for great food and cold drinks. The only reason I didn't give this place a 5 Star rating was because it was literally just one server / bartender so the service was lacking a little bit. Lots of people over 21 (under 21 not allowed) drinking and playing pool at 6 PM when we arrived - looked like they were having a great time! However, tables were dirty, and there was no service available except at the bar. Did not see anyone eating so we left after about 15 minutes. As a bar, I'd give it 3 stars. As a restaurant, I recommend going to Panguitch - it's 10 minutes up the road and there are better food options there. That's what we ended up doing. read more

Wow what little gem. When you see it on the side of the road on your way to Bryce...you're going to think it is some weird local bar but don't let looks deceive you!!!! We had dinner here one evening when we spent the day at Bryce and wanted to come back after sunset too see Bryce at night for some stargazing and did not want to go all the way back to our rental between Zion and Bryce. You can cook it yourself and save 5$ or grill it yourself for free (I oddly liked this concept). -In a place full of meat eaters I was able to get some nice veggie options. We uhm pretty much cleaned our plates clean. The Service Leah who was doing triple duty as the bartender, waitress and server (there was another server as well who was equally as nice). She was brilliant...very kind and sweet and prompt-she welcomed every guest in as they came through the door-as you know the laws about alcohol are a bit different and oddly enough people get upset when they can't get the drink they want-this awesome woman did all she could to make drinks while following the laws in UT. We were warmed up with great food and great atmosphere ready to see the stars at Bryce. Service is incredible! Food was fresh and delicious. We had grilled asparagus and steak and it was yummy. You can grill your own steak, it was a blast! My boyfriend and I were driving to get to our next destination from Wyoming and we're starving for dinner, the o oh place left open was the Outlaw Saloon, and wow we are glad that it was! Hands down the best steak either of us have ever had. He order the 16 oz rib eye, and I got the 12 oz New York strip. Both were delicious and we ordered them medium rare. We shared a loaded baked potato for an appetizer and it was to die for...this is what a loaded baked potato should be. Fully loaded, the best bacon we have ever had, sour cream, so much cheese and onions served on the side which was greatly appreciated. The local beer was really good and the house margarita was one of the best I've had, and margs are my go to drink. We were too full to order dessert, but looking back we wish we had just to experience more of the great food. The service was excellent. Both the chef and bartender checked in periodically to make sure everything was to our liking, but gave enough privacy to enough our conversation and our meal. The overall atmosphere is exactly what you would think a modern twist on a saloon is and just added to the overall experience. If we are ever in Hatch again this is where you'll find us for dinner! This is a hidden gem for sure! The drinks are refreshing and they have a huge cocktail selection. The local red "outlaw" blend is a great wine choice. The ambience is super fun and there's pool, darts, and saddle bar stools. They have a "grill your own steak" section...always fun! The bartender/waitress/server/busser is AMAZING...she does it all and she is incredible: fun, talkative, and makes a great cocktail. The only downside (for families) is that you MUST be 21 to be in this building. No exceptions per their liquor license. Well worth a visit! read more

Really enjoyed my dinner at the outlaw saloon. Our waitress was so fun and welcoming. She makes a great margarita. We ordered ribeyes and cooked ourselves. That was a great throw back ritual for me. The Palms in carpinteria CA had that cook your own steak thing but closed during Covid and is now being sold! The steaks were locally raised and excellent quality. This place was super fun and unique! Few tables but definitely easy to sit at the bar or just hang around the pool table! We ordered at the bar and started with drinks. I got the vagabond which was a ginger beer tequila based drink - delicious and strong. Then we ordered 8oz ribeyes and a rack of ribs. The ribeyes were cut fresh and brought to our table for us to take to the grill. From there we got to grill our own steak and put on a bunch of seasonings they provided. Just as we were finishing cooking they brought out our sides directly on time for us to too with dressings and butter. Steaks were superb! The staff allowed us to tipsily play pool while waiting for our food, and the waitress experimented a bit with her mixology which added a creative twist to our cocktails. Was not good at all. Ate here last Thursday night. Ordered steak and it was very tough. They claim it's fresh locally, but was worse than frozen from the grocery store. It was hard to cut even with a steak knife. Also ordered ribs and they were under-cooked and had to be sent back. The baked potatoes were also undercooked.
