    Amazing chicken noodle soup!
    Dino D.

We just came back from Back Home with friends and we had great time. Their food is amazing, I had the lamb shank, my wife the spinach enchiladas, our friends, the steak and shrimps fajitas. We also had the margaritas that were really good. The service was exceptional, our server Oneil was friendly, polite and super efficient, he came more than a few times to check on us. No wonder they have 4.8 stars! Check them out Yelpers!

Definitely will be back. Meatloaf and lamb shank was so delicious. The lamb definitely pulls away from the bone. Succulent meatloaf. Mashed potatoes creamy and smooth. Must try!!

Once again had a fantastic dinner. Brought my boyfriend here this time and he even enjoyed this meal. I started with the chicken soup. Let's just say when your sick you will want this soup. Then I got the Salmon featured for the night and my boyfriend got the fish platter featured for the night as well. His was fried shrimp, and fried snapper. His shrimp were big gulf size shrimp and both my salmon and his snapper were cooked to perfection. The garlic/tomato ontop of my salmon gave the plate and extra kick of flavor. I have not had a bad meal since being a patron.

Fantastic server! O'Neil made the wait for the food enjoyable. We ordered frozen margarita and a sangria and both were really good. For dinner, we ordered the por chips grilled. They were served with mashed potatoes and gravy and vegetables. Very large portion and tasty. We also order the lamb shank with a side on French fries (usually comes with mashed potatoes and veggies). It was really flavorful. Overall a great place to go.

This a really nice restaurant! An unexpected find tucked in the corner of a strip mall. The service is amazing and the food is delicious. They are extremely accommodating and careful with food allergies! We eat here often.

1/2 rack of babyback ribs Crazy big portion for an excellent price. Great flavor and falling off the bone perfectly prepared..

Open arriving at the parking lot and seeing how deserted the place was, I had a feeling in my gut we had chosen the wrong spot. Came in and we're sat right away. There was only another couple dining in at that time, on a Saturday at 6:30pm. Against my better judgement, we sat down and browsed the menu. We decided to order and make the best of our evening. The menu had several dishes that didn't sound like a bad idea. Service was great but then again, it was just us. Lol. We dined in for approximately an hour and within that time, another couple came in. Appetizers and courses came out very quickly. We had the yuca empanadas for our appetizer. They were really greasy but not horrible. For our main course, I had the mofongo stuffed with churrasco and a side of tostones, my husband had the fried pork chunks with white rice and red beans. My churrasco was a bit fatty and chewy and the mofongo was on the dryer side. We both ordered cocktails, they were both very heavy on the alcohol but not too bad. I'm almost certain we will not be visiting again but I'm glad we checked them off of our list.

I asked for the steak medium, but part of it came out rare -- not even medium rare. The bright spots were the ambiance and the empanadas, which were very good. I asked for part of my steak to be put back on the grill, but more than 20 minutes later nothing came back. At that point I figured they had simply forgotten about it. Ironically, the piece of steak I sent back finally showed up right when I had to ask the manager for the bill and told him the waitress had gone missing. And that She never brought the steak back. I was really hoping for a great experience given the restaurant's rating above 4 stars, but it definitely didn't live up to that. The service was absolutely poor. More like a 1.5 is what I rate it.

We ended up sitting at a high top and our waitress suggested that I try either carne asada from the Mexican menu or Vaca Frita from the Cuban menu. I love me some carne asada but I was intrigued but this 'fried shredded beef' that was marinated in mole and cooked in a hot skillet until crispy. She suggested sweet plantains to go with it and white rice with beans which is traditional Cuban (instead of yellow rice). IT WAS FABULOUS! It was crispy on the outside and juicy. The mole was flavorful but not spicy and i appreciated that the meat was not dripping in sauce. My dinner date ordered chicken tamales which were seasoned in a Cuban style with yellow rice. She is used to Mexican tamales but said these really hit the spot! The only blemish on the nice was her second margarita which was the cucumber one which she didn't like at all. However, the first one she ordered (pictured) which was a different flavor was a show stopper.

Curious and hungry, we decided to check it out. The restaurant is located in a small shopping plaza, and I have to admit, the dark tinted windows made the place seem a little questionable at first glance. I actually got out of the car to peek inside before committing. Once I saw several people dining and enjoying themselves, we decided to give it a shot. Inside, the restaurant was tastefully decorated with a charming Dominican countryside flair. Even the bathrooms had a playful sense of humor that added character to the place. Service started off promptly, and we were seated right away with menus in hand. However, while browsing the menu, I quickly realized that despite the restaurant's name, there were very limited Puerto Rican options aside from the different varieties of mofongo. The menu was overwhelmingly Dominican cuisine, which was a bit disappointing since we specifically came looking for Puerto Rican dishes. We ordered the empanada de cangrejo to start, which was flavorful and freshly made. We also shared the mofongo with masitas fritas, and I will say the food itself was well seasoned, hearty, and satisfying. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. Our waitress lacked warmth and wasn't particularly attentive. What stood out the most was that she didn't know what sorullos or alcapurrias were, which caught me completely off guard considering we were searching for Puerto Rican cuisine. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but the experience didn't fully meet our expectations. If you're looking for Dominican-style mofongo dishes, you may enjoy it. But if you're specifically craving traditional Puerto Rican cuisine, this may not quite hit the mark.

Luckily, we do speak some Spanish as the staff was very limited in English. Neither of us was very hungry so having looked at the menu in advance, we thought we'd get some soup or something small. Turned out that on Sundays, they don't have their regular chicken soup available. However, they do have a Sunday special of Hen Soup (gallina), so that's what I ordered. My husband ordered a chicken sandwich. The soup came in a large bowl. There was ample chicken with various vegetables in it -- some of which I didn't know what they were. I could identify the cabbage and I think a lot of large chunks of either yucca or some sort of potato. The broth was good -- made better when I added some lime juice to it. In addition to the soup, alongside was served a very plain and bland arepa and a hunk of fresh avocado. They also had a small cup of vinegary chopped onions and peppers on the plate. My husband's sandwich turned out to be more like a chicken salad sandwich with a mix of chicken, mayo, and avocado mashed together. He said it was okay. To go, he got a small container of their passion fruit mousse dessert. He ate that later at home. He said that was very good. We were here once many, many years ago. Since then, we've passed by many times and said we needed to return. If we come back, I'd like to try some of their other arepas.
