    Horchata and Watermelon Aguas Frescas
    Dawn M.

Friendly, inviting, and the best in town! Excited to see a paleta bar close by! Entering the store, the employees were friendly and was served quickly. I got the horchata and watermelon agua freshcas. Both were hits! Just the right amount of sweetness. I got a chance to test taste the Kahlúa and it tasted just like coffee! I'll have to get that next time. I'll be coming back to try the paletas!

Love this place. Delicious and refreshing. Only drawback is that it comes out to almost $10 a person, so $50 for a family of 5. A little bit of a splurge But I'd rather pay a little more and have it be this good, than a little less and meh .

Mango paleta dipped in white chocolate and coconut, and coconut paleta dipped in chocolate with almonds. Taste like an Almond Joy. Yum

Just found our new ice cream place! All natural, from scratch I've cream and natural juices. Soooo good.

I've been hearing about this place for a little while and we finally stopped in for a sweet treat! The concept was new to us and the associate explained the process and even let us try their new flavor! My son picked out the bubble gum and my husband and I went with the hazelnut crunch. Both were delicious and not overly sweet! We will definitely be back!

YUM! Our group of 7 earned these Paletas! There is a 4-step process to create your Paleta and the employees are super helpful if you are confused. I ordered Hazelnut Crunch, dipped in Dark Chocolate, covered in Oreo crumbs and served with sliced bananas. BOMB. So many combinations to be created

Love this place! You choose your flavor of bar, then dip, then toppings. The fruit cup with tajin and Chamoy was excellent, fruit was perfectly ripe and fresh! The employees were kind and open for any questions, made you feel very comfortable. Very clean, made 2 stops on our trip to Mesa.

I love new mom and pop establishments like this one where there is lots of energy from the staff. When we walked in, we were greeted by an employee who offered to let us know how the ordering of their menu works to do each step of the process. in a nutshell, I would describe this as souped up gourmet Popsicles. My daughters both got the Oreo Paleta have to put in chocolate and Oreo toppings. They were delicious and a fun Friday night treat. This staff recommended their fresh made Horchata so we had to get one of those and OMG, it was to die for. We will definitely be back

I discovered this Paleta bar while searching for new food places on Yelp. It looked good, so I bookmarked the business to try out on my next trip to the area. Walked into the Paleta bar and there was nobody else, so I was able to really look at the different flavors. Picked my flavor paleta, then picked the dip, and topping. The person working behind the counter was very nice and helpful. The paleta was very good. I'll definitely be back to try another.

Wow did this place impress! Saw it by chance and thought I'd give it a try... they have both milk based or water based popsicles. Lots of options made with fresh fruits like mango, coconut, and strawberry to fun stuff like bubble gum and Oreo. Get them dipped in chocolate, candy toppings, or fruits if you're feeling fancy. They tasted very fresh and creamy! They have other stuff like agua frescas (fruit juices), street corn, and shakes. The employees (owners?) were also very friendly. We'll definitely be back to try some more flavors!

Paleta bar was very clean and staff was very friendly. I totally recommend coming here. The paletas are amazing, and I love how you can customize it to your liking!!

They were making more of the missing ones, so you can still order them.

This place is so good! Paletas are made fresh in-house everyday so they're all yummy. I had the coffee and my family all had the bubblegum. The paletas alone are so smooth and flavorful but you can add toppings also. Service was great, they explain everything if it's your first time and offer suggestions. We also got a creamy cantaloupe agua which was also very good and not too sweet. We will definitely be back to try the elote and the other paleta flavors.

We stumbled upon this place after a movie and decided to give it a shot. Will say that this is one of the best desserts I've EVER had. Im pretty sure the owner served us and she was seriously so kind and offered us samples. The place was pristinely clean. Truly blown away by this establishment.

This location of Novel is a walk up window, down a narrow outdoor corridor/alley(?)... there were some benches and a seating area on the sidewalk just outside this area. We ordered the Dough Melt with Biscoff and the Leslie Knope with Butter Pecan. The donut was good but would have been better if it was warm. We are used to Afters who puts their donut in a press to warm it. The Biscoff ice cream was like a vanilla with cookie mixed in. I was expecting a more Biscoff forward flavor. The Leslie Knope had a 7 minute wait because they had to make the waffle. I liked that the waffle was warm but it got hard and cold quickly with the ice cream. It wasn't fluffy at all and I think by waiting I was expecting a fresh waffle, but it seemed to be more of a frozen waffle placed in a toaster. It was also more difficult the eat the waffle sandwich vs the donut sandwich. We ended up biting the waffle and using a spoon for the ice cream. The butter pecan ice cream had good flavor but was nothing special. Definitely recommend the Dough Melt over the Leslie Knope, and the Butter Pecan over the Biscoff. An additonal star because the service was friendly and she offered to answer questions as we were indecisive since it was our first time there. However, we probably won't be back as there are many ice cream options closer to us in Gilbert that have better quality ice cream that is creamier and smoother, and more variety of flavors.

Gelato is something I love to indulge on occasion, and after a couple Yelper friends reviewed, I had this on my radar to try. When my friends today mentioned wanting dessert after lunch, I suggested this as it was in proximity to where we met for ramen. The owner (I presume) greeted us and so did his brother who was seated in the lobby. They boasted it was the best gelato in Arizona, and it was authentic like Italy. I was skeptical at first as a lot can talk a big game, but then you try it and it's average. Stracciatella is a classic flavor and one of my favorites, so I requested a sample. It was very creamy, but the dark chocolate helped cut the sweetness. I ordered a piccolo (small) and it was just the right size for a treat. My friends ordered behind me and I found a spot for us to sit and chat. The interior is mostly tables for two chairs, but we made a table of three. In the future, I'd probably grab to go as it's fairly small. Still a solid choice for a sweet treat and I would recommend it if you are in the area.

AZ Chimney Cakes specializes in Kürtöskalács, a.k.a chimney cakes, an incredible dessert that originated in Hungary. I have Romanian roots and Kürtöskalács are quite popular in Romania. That's where I had my first chimney cake. Located in the same shopping center as a movie theater, a Japanese restaurant, and a bunch of other businesses, I parked without any issues in the free back lot and walked over. Ambiance (4/5): A cozy dessert shop. I felt right at home when I saw a map of Bucharest by the entrance. You order at the counter and then they bring your order out to you. We sat at a table close to the door. Service (5/5): Friendly service and we were fortunate enough to chat with the owner for quite a bit. We learned about the history of the dessert spot and how they're trying out some new ideas. Nice lady. Drinks (N/A): No drinks for me on this visit. Food (5/5): If you've never has a chimney cake, you're in for a treat. They're made to order and customizable. More so than anywhere I've ever seen. You choose your base, toppings, additions, and drizzles. I went with the traditional chimney cake with Biscoff cookies, vanilla ice cream, and Nutella drizzle. Outside of the dessert options, which are the way to go for first timers, if you're feeling adventurous, they also have one or two savory options. The chimney cakes are served warm and absolutely delicious. They're filling too so come with an appetite. It's one of those things everyone should try at least once in their lifetime. So cool to have them in Mesa!
