After a sad attempt to stay at the Ashland Springs Hotel, we landed at the Palm for the first night of our honeymoon (and several nights after). I'd admired their beautiful gardens before, and they really benefit the luxury cabana feel of the place. They were in full bloom, with honeysuckle and lavender scenting our doorway. Lovely! The rooms themselves are beautifully restored, with a mind toward keeping the nostalgia alive. Clearly done with a personal touch and a loving hand, which my husband and I both appreciate. The housekeeping staff has been unobtrusive, and done all the little things, like wash our water glasses, replace fresh flowers, and refold towels every morning. The pool is small, but well done. The rooms are well-sized and very comfortable. We will certainly be back. The small criticisms I have is that our mattress is beginning to sag a bit in the center (more noticeable because my husband is a large guy, and I "fall" toward him if the mattress is not firm). You can hear the traffic from the road (not terribly annoying). Also, charging for the cabanas at the pool just seems a little tacky. Perhaps the pool is hopping in summer, but if not, then a $40 charge seems a bit ridiculous, as is advertising "drinks service" for soda and water. This is not Vegas, and unless you've got an alcohol license, I would just state you have soda for sale. Overall, a great find! read more

Absolutely loved this place - we stayed in the Sunset Suite cottage and it was perfect. Very comfortable bed, immaculate and within an easy 1.5 mile walk to downtown. I would definitely stay here again. Check-in was easy and I was continually checked on by the concierge. This place was great. I highly recommend it here. Showers had amazing water pressure and the deep tub was a bonus too. Looking forward to coming back. read more

This place is wonderful! Husband and I stayed here for one night on our way to Portland and absolutely loved it. We had the deluxe King room, it was beautiful and comfortable. King bed was very comfortable and so were the pillows. The shower was excellent, great water pressure. The grounds to the palm and so nice, so many flowers were in bloom and it made for a very nice atmosphere. The staff were so nice and knowledgable. Our stay here was terrible. It's definitively not suited for an extended stay, maybe one night, one person but not a couple. It was very expensive and their cancellation policy is two weeks out or you pay up to the two weeks. So be sure no one dies or falls ill or you are stuck for the $ for your stay. The sheets didn't fit the bed, nor did the mattress cover so it was a fight all night to manage the bedding. No coffee, tea options in the room and coffee service in the lobby doesn't start until 7:30,, forget early rising. I agree with others that the grounds are beautiful but I will say that the interior of the rooms are shabby with peeling paint and limited storage. The "classic" rooms are very, very small again fine for one night one person but not longer. I had hoped this would be a good place for us since our conference was at SOU but it wasn't and as far as I saw there were no amenities and the owner, staff were not accommodating. This will be off my list for the conference next year. read more

Came here for a two night stay while in Ashland. This place has great winter discounts and the rooms are amazingly cozy and warm. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are roomy, the furniture and decor is very 'comforts of home'. Double queen room has a great fridge and little microwave. The beds are set up so y have some privacy from one another. Just a really clean, friendly, comfortable place to stay. read more

I stayed in their quaint smaller room one night on my way from Bellingham to Santa Cruz. The room was immaculate and beautifully furnished, although the ceiling was very low. When I arrived, the dryers in the next door laundry room were in operation, but that wound up at 9:00 PM. And hadn't started by the time I checked out at 8:30 AM. The gardens are extensive and well groomed, filled with flowers and herbs. The concierge desk had fresh coffee and a wide assortment of teas with a carafe of steaming water, so I was able to fill my thermos before hitting the road. I didn't have time to avail myself of the pool, although I did observe that it was crystal clean and inviting. read more

The Palm is such a treasure... we stayed in #14 this time... and we finally got to use the pool!!! WOW!! Talk about luxury! Very cute, cozy, clean, comfortable, charming and other nice words that start with 'c'. One thing it wasn't was cheap, but that seems to be the norm for Ashland (which sort of surprised me, but maybe its just because I'm not into Shakespeare). The outdoor pool and patio are really cool, but I am confused why they spent all that money on a pool and didn't bother putting in a Jacuzzi. If I ever come through Ashland again I will certainly check in at The Palm. read more

Spent two nights at the Palm last weekend, and it's hard to imagine a nicer place to stay. Our room (#3, the "Two Queen Beds" room) was comfortable, well laid-out and well furnished, and handsomely decorated. The place is quiet, beautifully landscaped, far enough from the center of town not to be overrun, and the staff is friendly and unobtrusive. It's almost a fantasy getaway, so I honestly question what other reviewers here could find to complain about. read more

We had a FABULOUS stay at the Palm! We were on a road trip and booked it when we decided to stop in Ashland on the way home. We've stayed at other places in Ashland, and while they were okay, none of them were the exact place that we were looking for. And now we feel like we've found our go to place in Ashland! We stayed in the Sunrise Suite. It was wonderful-exactly what we were looking for! We had been in the car all day and we were really looking forward to the saltwater POOL! We went to dinner (Dragonfly-recommended by the Palm-had an amazing dinner!) and had planned to take an after dinner swim. We returned only to find the pool gate locked. I went to the office and inquired. The gentleman at the desk was so kind and opened the pool for us. We had a wonderful relaxing swim which was perfect after being on the road all day. We are eternally grateful for his kindness! The Sunrise Suite has a wonderful front porch with a small sitting room with television just inside. The bed is COMFORTABLE and that bathtub WONDERFUL! Cozy blankets, a refrigerator, coffee maker and wine glasses are all very nice touches. And LOVE that you are a bit out of town (but still within walking distance) and near Morning Glory for breakfast! read more

Quick and easy check in, the room was our own private bungalo. The salt water pool is awesome. Amenities were as promised. Slight ding on the parking, had to drive around the block, but hey, can't fight geography. Will totally stay here again and soon. read more

My partner and I + his mother enjoyed the Garden Cottage for 3 nights. A really pleasant stay and we all felt very positive about The Palm. Staff were uniformly friendly and helpful. The Garden Cottage itself is a 2-room suite with a small kitchenette that is well-stocked (microwave, electric tea kettle, coffee maker, fridge & freezer + plenty of dishes and utensils. One bedroom (queen bed) is private, while the other (king bed) has the sole access to the bathroom (so if you're in the private room, you have to walk through the other bedroom to access the sink and/or toilet.) Each room has individual heating/cooling units, so no issues with climate control. TVs in each bedroom. Loads of light through the many windows, with views of a beautiful landscaped garden in front, with a deck that would be divine to hang out on in warmer weather (we visited in February). Location is very central to the SOU campus and a short drive from downtown. We will happily visit again and highly recommend The Palm. read more

I was a little leery of the sign on approach, did mom really get us a room at a lame motor lodge??? We checked in, Jonathan was attentive and very friendly! Our room, number 9 was at the end on the corner. We arrived to a warm inviting space. Comfy beds, adorable kitchenette and free wifi to yelp with! Its not very walkable to downtown, but the grounds were very well maintain (recommend the sunshine suite), people are amazing, and every little aspect to service was handled. Pretty on the outside, but filthy on the inside. Overpaid for the "Luxury King" room and it had black mold, very creaky wood floors, worn out furniture, leaking toilet, leaking shower, pubic hair on a stained, frayed bath mat, disgustingly dirty coffee maker, stained rug, heat/air unit that shut itself off and neighboring guests waking me up in the middle of the night having sex. After a late check in (11pm) I discovered the full condition of the room the next morning, including the fact that all the windows had been left unlocked by staff. Management told me, "If you had an issue with the cleanliness of the coffee maker, you should have brought it to the office for a cleaning." So, I should have worked for the motel where I had paid over $200.00 dollars for a "Luxury Room?" This person who never identified himself/herself, also told me that they couldn't keep cleaning staff around because of Covid, as if that was suppose to excuse the nasty condition of the room. This person also admitted that they couldn't maintain their usual level of high standards. However, they have no issue selling you a room that is disgustingly filthy for way too much money and then treat you like crap when you complain. I would have been better off at a Motel 6. read more

You wouldn't believe the value of this motel by viewing it's signage on the street as it appears to be from a bygone era, but once inside you'll find class and comfort in the thoughtfully refurbished rooms. We stayed in Unit 14, or was it 15, which is actually a house conversion and therefore not at all a hotel/motel like experience! You can enjoy a lovely outdoor deck and comfortable seating with a lawn view encased by colorful flowers. The pool is gorgeous and resembles the outlay of a spa resort. Most of the photos don't do justice to show the many features of this motel. The owners, staff and even the guests are happy and helpful. My hubby and I usually travel first and second class, and we agree that, for the money this little gem is extremely good value, especially since it is only a mile or two from downtown Ashland. The only improvement I would share is that of the pillows. Guests are offered three different types of wonderful pillows, yet the pillow type my hubby and I needed was a very thin one, as all were too high off the mattress. The (luxury) mattress was brand new but very soft, so we opted for no pillow at all in order to keep our back straight and protect it from aching in the morning. read more

I had a wonderful stay at The Palm. My parents have stayed here before and now I had the chance as an Alumni at the college there (Southern Oregon University). The weather was so beautiful so I was able to enjoy their newly renovated pool area. Such a nice way to spend a day off! They made sure the umbrellas were up as well. We come to Ashland regularly and have been wanting to stay here. So glad we did ! It's charming, quaint, and very relaxing. This is one of the best kept secrets in Ashland. I stay here every year for the OSF. The heated salt water pool is amazing. The rooms are nice, comfortable and affordable. The grounds are beautifully kept. There have not been a lot of family's with kids when I have stayed which has made it a nice place to relax and read by the pool. Morning Glory is a great place for breakfast right down the street. There is also a wonderful sandwich shop (sammichs) within walking distance for lunch at the pool. The service has always been wonderful the past 5 years I have been staying here. I highly recommend it. read more

What a great place! The owners have taken an older motel, and have artfully updated it so that it is a real pleasure to stay here. The bed and linens are fine quality, not the typical motel fare. The furnishings are artful, cozy and comfy, again, definitely not standard motel stuff. The gardens around the building are lush and sumptuous, all in all, a treat for the eyes. A delightful place. Rooms -- at least our room -- not large or luxurious but clean and comfortable, with some nice little extra touches. Very friendly reception, and available charging for electric vehicle -- they even put out a classic orange cone to reserve the parking spot next to the outdoor outlet. What sets this pleasant place apart is the wonderful landscaping; it's like living in the middle of a beautifully designed garden, carefully planned and well maintained -- an absolute oasis. Beds are firm; pillow menu was a nice touch! Morning coffee was superb. Would give 5 stars but for two things: first, about a mile walk to downtown restaurants/plays. Second, no breakfast offered. The recommended breakfast place is terrific but super popular - which means a long wait for seating. 30-45 minutes at 9am on an April Saturday. read more

I have wanted to check this place out for YEARS but have never had the right schedule and opportunity until this summer! Soooooo worth it. GORGEOUS grounds, beautiful pool - yes, it is worth it to reserve a cabana on a day you are not planning to run around or see a play - cute room with kitchenette that played off of its 1940s/1950s motel origins in a lovely, stylish, updated way, and every staff person - including the housekeeping folks - were clearly happy to be there, engaged in the creation of this special place and experience. We had a wonderful stay at the Palm Cottages. From the time we checked in at the front desk, the staff were warm, friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. We stayed in one of the smaller cottages (without kitchenette), and it was charming and all we needed. The new pool and sundeck were wonderful, especially in the hot August sun. The gardens are beautiful, which is what initially caught my eye. Short drive to town, but also we managed to walk to town. I would recommend the Palms highly. read more

I stayed in the luxury suite and it definitely earned its name: fluffy bath robes, a rain shower head in an ample bath, custom pillows, a private cabana at the pool, all in an impressive decor designed for comfort & relaxation. I love this place. I keep coming back. Yes, the standard rooms are small..but cozy rather than cramped, the bathrooms are dated but not worn, The staff are rather earthy but it works! The gardens are spectacular and combined with the perfect colors of the rooms (inside and out) make you wonder why they don't add 'cottages' to their name as it feels like a lovely little cottage community. Only sorrow (can't call it a complaint) is that standard rooms don't have coffee facilities and neither the reception nor the amazing Morning Glory restaurant a block away are open til 8. I stayed one night in a queen room. The room is not large but it was a great value. It's an independent motel that is intentional about what they are doing and you get the feeling that they take pride and put in effort to the business. They have a menu of special pillows you can get as well as iPads with Netflix that you can borrow. I took advantage of neither but I appreciated the thought. I was planning on going elsewhere for my morning coffee but what they had was pretty good! read more

What a fun place!!! The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained. The rooms are in "older cabins"...spacious enough...and the bathroom was updated with a large walk-in shower. Loved the 50's/60's accessories (lamps, kitchenette, etc.) Individual AC Units kept each room comfortable and were fairly quiet. Pool and Cabanas...nice touch. We let them know we would be in a little later than 5pm...and were met in the driveway...and checked in quickly. Great Service. And down the way, 2 great restaurants... La Casa Del Pueblo...Family Mexican Restaurant...Delish Mexican food...good service. And Morning Glory Restaurant (for breakfast) was AMAZING! (get there at 8am, when they open...even on a weekday) as they fill up quickly! read more

I love this little place. I would have given 4.5 stars if that was possible. Clean, stylish, personal and very friendly staff. The bed was comfortable and I slept really well. They even offer a body pillow and a memory foam pillow if you ask. One caveat-I really wished there was a small desk in each room. The rooms are small but I'm a small person so that's not an issue for me. But for me, a desk and chair is. Not a deal breaker though because I've returned here often and referred friends too. It is set far enough back from the road that traffic is not really an issue. Outside of room 7 they thoughtfully placed a fountain which added to the peacefulness of the place. It also masked the little bit of distant traffic sounds I did hear. No traffic later in the night though. The gardens and big stone pots of flowers/plantings around there are charming and well loved. Reasonable prices. Feels like Europe. read more
