Met a friend at the bar and of course had to get a steak! She got fish. We started with the Caesar which was good. The bartender/waiter suggested we split it since it is large. Great idea! Dinner at the Palm was as notable for the service as for the steak.  Our servers could not have been more helpful or pleasant which made the meal relaxing and fun.  The Gigi salad was a generous portion and a great mixture of tastes and textures.  Both the prime NY strip and the center cut filet were great but we preferred the meatier flavor of the strip steak.  The fries were really good as was the creamed spinach (going for one sort of healthy and the other not but so worth it.)  The valet parking is an added bonus and the location is convenient.  The décor is fun to peruse with caricatures painted directly  on the walls all around.  Though we are not near important enough to be on the wall, we still felt as if we were treated as such by the team at The Palm. read more

Came here to celebrate a nice Christmas dinner with the family. Started off with the Grilled Octopus, the Meatball, and Prosciutto. For my entree I got the Tomahawk Ribeye with a variety of sides (Mashed Potatoes, Mac and Cheese, Asparagus, Mushrooms, Shimp Risotto, and Truffle Risotto. For dessert we got their Cheesecake, Tiramisu, and Crème Brûlée. There are some hits and missies. All the steaks were perfectly cooked and juicy and the desserts were all great as well. I only went here as my work gave me a gift-card. The food is FAR overpriced for what you are getting, the service you are receiving, and the overall aesthetic of the restaurant. Servers feel like they are rushing you through service and constantly try to upsell you. My work then gave me another gift-card so I did a pick up order to avoid all the eat-in hassle. I know it's pick up but the presentation was wild work, so so so unappetizing. Again got another gift-card, and my partner took his mother just for lobster- ridiculously overpriced for a crustacean and some butter. I will not be back even with another gift-card. read more

Horrible experience. We reserved a private room. The host couldn't find our name. I asked him to read the names listed for the private rooms, to which he said we have many private rooms (you have 3, btw). He then realized our name was always there and then proceeded to point to the bar area and said that's our room. It literally was a space at the bar with a broken curtain that was meant to separate. Anybody who knows me KNOWS I love a good steakhouse. Having dined at the DC Palm a time or two, I couldn't wait to celebrate by homies birthday at the Tyson's location. Once you enter, you know you're surrounded by class! The staff was super attentive and directed me to the lounge at my request. After my customary "pre-game" drink, I was escorted to my party of twenty. We ordered just about every item on the menu and the staff were complete professionals , logging zero miscues!! On to the food! I normally choose steak at fine steakhouses, however, this particular night I wanted my beloved lamb chops. They were AWESOME. Thick, juicy and seasoned perfectly! The side dishes were just as delicious. A couple of my tablemates had to have their meals redone. Just a little too pink for their taste. Once the correction was made, they loved their meals just as much as I loved mine and all was well with the world.. Lol!! The Palm-Tysons was exactly what I expected it to be... up to high end steakhouse PAR!! So, the next time I'm in the mood for amazing lamb and amazing service... I'LL BE BACK!!!! read more

Overrated and overpriced. You get nothing near what you pay for. Been to way better and far cheaper steakhouse establishments. Came here for a friends birthday. We had reservations in one of the separate closed off rooms. The table got a variety of steaks, seafood, chicken, and pork entrees. We got a variety of sides for the table too and several mixed drinks. The food wasn't bad, but wasn't anything memorable. The only thing memorable was the final bill which was insane. It ended up averaging out to well over $100 per person. It's unlikely I will ever come here again. read more

This is a favorite spot for the CEO of my company. On a recent visit he left his cell phone which would have been a disaster if not for the outstanding customer service provided by Caitlyn. She called me using the number from the reservation and I could notify my boss before he left town. Great food, great service and a staff that goes above and beyond. What's not to love? I visited for a business meeting event in private dining on a Monday evening. The ambiance was very nice and welcoming. The restaurant has an open feeling and there is a bar. Service was very good and attentive. The meal was preselected and it was very good. There was chicken parmigiana, filet and salmon. Everyone enjoyed their meals. *******Trust all the bad reviews for this restaurant****** Do yourself a favor and don't eat at this restaurant even if somebody else is paying for it. That's how bad our experience was. My fault though since we decided to eat here in spite of all the bad reviews thinking it may just be a few people that were dissatisfied with their meals. The steak I ordered was so salty that I was about to throw up towards the end. The waiter rushed us to eat because he clearly did not look like he wanted to be there and wanted to get home. We had some loud people sitting next to us, so we politely asked the waiter if we can move to another table and instead of moving us, he said that they should be leaving soon anyway which they didn't. This was right after we were seated so it wasn't like it was in the middle of our meal and the restaurant at the time was very empty. So, horrible customer service overall. Before you decide to go here, at least read all the other bad reviews on Yelp. There are way cheaper places that have better food and service. read more

We decided to try Palm for our anniversary. This is a nice restaurant situated behind Tysons II (the Galleria) in Tysons. It is located on the ground floor of an upscale office building. Nice fountain in the lobby, too. FYI, valet parking is offered. This is a very upscale restaurant. I'm not sure if jacket and tie are required; I think you will want to dress up, anyway, to fit in with the bourgeois crowd. Our server was a nice older gentleman who seemed to have much knowledge of the industry and the offerings. We asked to be seated outside on their patio. The tables are separated well for social distancing. I ordered the lamb chops. The Mrs. had their filet mignon. Both came out hot and to our requested level of doneness (medium well). My complaints to the chef on both of these main courses. Tasty, seasoned just right, and plated perfectly. If you like your meat, this place seems to do it well. For sides, we ordered their lobster gnocchi, potatoes au gratin, and brussels sprouts. The lobster gnocchi is very, very good. In fact, the Mrs. ate the whole darn thing, which is saying something, because their sides are portioned for families. Don't tell her I ratted on her. The other sides, though, were not seasoned well, and really did not offer much in the way of taste. I'm not sure why you would add veggies to your menu if you aren't going to put anything on them besides salt. I mean, make a little hollandaise or something to spruce it up. Their bread appetizers look nice in their basket. An assortment is offered. They honestly don't do much in the way of taste, though. All in all, if you want a good steak or chop, this is a nice splurge. Nothing else seems to really work well here besides their lobster gnocchi. For the money (and it is expensive; we spent $300+ with tip), you might as well go to Ruth's Chris or similar. Maybe a nice Italian place. read more

Initial seating experience and wait/host staff were great. We enjoyed our waiter's attentiveness and the appetizer with drinks, unfortunately he didn't wait on us the entire night. Once the NFL game began, it was clear the bulk of the employees were more interested in watching and loudly cheering for that than doing their job. Also, there were unflattering comments by the employees toward the other city and team (I'm a fan who didn't take kindly to their words and let them know); I'm all for a back and forth among patrons but expect employees and management to do their job and show some courtesy. As you can imagine, our service went downhill from there. While my wife enjoyed her entree, my signature chicken parmigiana was initially good but found it entirely burnt and dry on one side. It's my fault for not bringing it to their attention and sending it back, but given the above experience/atmosphere I was ready to pay the $200 check and leave. Expected more for the price point and restaurant's self portrayal, but now know why their reviews are lower than I would have expected; we probably would have had a better experience at Chilis...... read more

This was our first visit during lunch on a Friday afternoon on 1/25/19 to celebrate a birthday. My family and I ordered the $26 Power Lunch special, which is available only on the weekdays until 3 PM. This consists of a 3 course meal - soup or salad, entree (5 to choose), and dessert (2 to choose). We ordered soup of the day, which was a bowl of clam chowder. It was plentiful of clams, ham, and potatoes. Our entrees were Atlantic Salmon Filet, New York Strip, and Chicken Parmigiana. They were cooked well, flavorful, and large. Our dessert was cheesecake with raspberries. We did not have to eat dinner that evening. The only setbacks were expensive sodas priced at $4.75, and garage parking was $6 for 2 hours, but valet parking is free. Also, there are no birthday perks other than a written note card and a candle placed on your paid dessert. I would recommend trying lunch there because it is more reasonably priced, and the restaurant is less crowded so you can walk around and see all the caricatures on the walls. read more

Just arrived into town after traveling all day and wanted a hearty meal. My wife and uncle ordered the 8 oz. Steak one medium rare and the other medium well. I ordered the prime 22 oz. bone in ribeye medium rare. My wife's and uncles steaks were switched and my bone in ribeye was 1/2" thick. Something that I could have received at Logan's roadhouse. We were served by three different attendants. The two men had a very strong accents and were just plain rude, not helping us out with the menu. We asked for their opinion and they kept saying whatever you want , what ever you want. As a new customer I would like their opinion. Which is customary for a server to give their opinion on menu items. We we looking for a nice guest dinner at a steakhouse . The website advertised that it was up scale. We we seated next to a family that had two crying babies and another that was having a kids birthday party. I'm sorry, but after a day of traveling and spending $500 for a dinner for a three. We could have gone to Applebees for $75 for the same experience. read more

I was so looking forward to eating here. I previously ate here years ago and it was wonderful. I was so disappointed in the food this time around. My daughter and I ordered the calamari app, the filet mignon , and lobster gnocchi and a side of mushrooms. The calamari was awful. A few were good but most pieces were so hard almost like it had been previously cooked and then re fried again it also had fried lemon slices in it which was odd. Usually it has fried cherry peppers if anything. We didn't finish it. Steak was very rare. I hate sending food back but had to have it cooked a bit more. The Bearnaise sauce wasn't a sauce it was the consistency of mayonnaise. My daughter's lobster gnocchi was terrible. They forgot her lobster tail at 1st and when they brought it it was 1/2 and so small. It was so overcooked it was dry and stuck to the shell . The gnocchi itself had no flavor and was gummy. The food had zero seasoning. Everything was so bland, not a grain of salt. This place has really gone downhill. The issue and the reason as to why I only gave them a 3 start rating, was that I ordered my steak medium well (only a little bit of a hot pink center) my steak was on the verge of rare, I sent it back to get a little bit more cooking. We Celebrated Mother's Day and our twin's 17th birthday... 3:30 pm on Mother's Day. 6 of us in total (3 under 21). Not our first time here. We dine at $$$ steakhouses like this all the time. So we are not morons, we know what to expect in terms of service and food. I ordered the special Moscow mule drink, and it came in a lowball glass. :/ Part of ordering a mule drink is the vessel it's served in. Would you serve a martini in a lowball? When I inquired with our server, he said they were all being used. Looked around the dining room we were in and didn't see any being used. Maybe only have a few? That's on the bartender or at least when we brought me my drink, he should have apologized. But he just handed it to me like I didn't know any better. I ordered a bottle of white wine. The server opened it, poured two glasses, and then placed the bottle on the table. No wine chiller/bucket. I had to ask for one. He brought one that sits on the table, not a floor-standing one. Once the shared sides were presented, the plates were overlapping, and we had to work around this large wine bucket to get to the shared side dishes. Our server should have offered to place it at the server stand, which was right next to us or you guys need to invest in wine chillers with a smaller table footprint. We asked twice about a dish being served w/o mushrooms (our daughter is allergic). She placed her order with him, and she said, "no mushrooms, please" (3rd time) ... Her order came out with mushrooms in it (pasta primavera). We get the attention of our waiter again and tell him, and he doesn't even apologize or look as if he even cares. He's clearly not happy with us (mule drink, wine bucket, and now this). I'm upset, but trying not to let the whole table see. He takes her plate and asks if she wants something else to eat. Yes, she wants to eat! So while she waited, I told everyone else to eat, and I waited until round 2 of her food to come out to eat my food (which is now barely lukewarm). Thankfully my daughter's meal was removed from the bill... so there's that, at least. IMO, the salmon was not fresh... it tasted like it was previously frozen. Meats were enjoyed by those who ordered them. It really felt like the standards of fine dining were not presented to us. My husband and I expected better, especially from our server. I decided to take my mom out to eat here for her birthday. She enjoyed it and had a great time. The service was excellent and food was ok. I felt like the octopus I ordered wasn't flavorful enough and to mushy. But the ambiance was nice.
