My wife and I were first time customers today for lunch. Let's just say that we can now see where all the great reviews come from... especially for their fried clams. We arrived at 2:15 to find the place full. After a short wait a table became available. The place is old and a tad shabby, but in a quaint, homey way. It `appeared to be clean (including the rest rooms) Sports memoribilia adorn the walls. Our server, Patty C. (a middle aged blond lady) provided excellent, friendly and knowledgeable service and patiently answered our questions with a smile and sense of humor. Now for the food! My clam dinner was outstanding, among the best I've had. My only issue - a minor one - was the "market value" price of the clams. I thought $42 was a bit steep. But in view of the freshness and portion size I'm inclined to overlook this. My wife also very much enjoyed her chicken tenders. All in all an excellent lunch with very good service. We have eaten here many times over the years, appreciate the local feel. Not sure what happened this weekend with the fish and chips, which three of us ordered. The fish was so small about the size of a marble. They were good, but way too small...it's okay to make them bigger and serve less. I will say first time being disappointed. read more

My honey and his friends have gone to this place numerous times over the years and love it. I had to try it for myself. This place did not disappoint at all! My first impression was Wow! This place is immaculate! Every inch of the walls were covered with college banners from all over as well as pictures. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous. One waitress has worked there for 30 years. That's a huge plus in my book. We started out with a few beers. They have beer on tap and bottles as well. There is a full bar. It's small but it was packed at 3:30 on this Wednesday afternoon. We asked the bartender about what we were looking to get...I always go large...thankfully he said that a small full bellied clam app and a small huge sized scallop plate with fries would be enough for us. We were so full! Even left with leftovers. Let me just say...can you say, best seafood anywhere? Seriously! So gooood! You have to try this place. Parking is available. Cute place! Lots of sports memorabilia on the walls. Arrived around 5:00pm on a Sunday night. The place was full. I ordered the fried clams plate. Big portion and good French fries. Only average I'm afraid . Clam chowder was pretty thin and had little flavor with tons of 1/4" diced potatoes which just felt like canned chowder to me . Baked haddock was ok , nothing special really and a token amount of bread crumbs on top . Cole slaw was all cabbage and heavy on the vinegar. Wife had a burger that was good , fries were not great . Wow. We were in Plum Island and got a suggestion to go to Park Lunch for fried clams. Walked in around 1pm and snagged only open table. The owner came right over and told us everything to order. Waitress was delightful. Service terrific. 2 guys, we split small fried clams and French fries. More than we could eat. We were probably only customers without cocktails and they looked good. Lori and I were looking for the best fried clams and this small off the beaten path spot came up, so we gave it a try. Looks like a local sports bar and has a big menu, that offers a large variety of seafood, burgers, sandwiches and even quiche. We had a good waitress who you could tell was a local and longtime worker at the place. Crowd inside was locals and not tourists like us. Lori got the fried whole belly clams and the plate was very large. She loved them and said they were perfectly battered. I had a good order of the fried scallops, also lightly battered and cooked well. My only complaint, would be I like my fries cooked a little crispier, but they were cooked like they should be, not the way I like lol read more

What a cool place to take a small step back in time (the 1970s) to get some fabulous fried clams. 1970s music was abound when we stopped in for mid afternoon fried clam dinner. Though the clams were marked "market price" which can sometimes be a scary proposition we were told we wouldn't be disappointed... we weren't. About 10 minutes later a mountain of fried clams plop themselves on the table accompanied with coleslaw and french fries. We weren't sure we can eat all the clams but the two of us managed. The clams were very good sized, very tasty, and were everything we hoped for. "Fried" to perfection and hot. The side of coleslaw was chilled just right and had a nice savory taste. Even the french fries that seem to be somewhat antiseptic we're also hot and delicious. Decided to try this place out after a day enjoying Salisbury Beach. A friend had been raving about the fried clams and I finally went. Place was easy to get to once you get to Salisbury center. Plenty of parking around the location and nice outside seating each table was umbrella covered. Nice casual vibe and attentive service. Waitress took my cold draft order and dinner order promptly. My delicious whole belly fried clam dinner came out very quickly. Very tasty sweet, crisp, plump clams with pile of crisp French fries and side of Cole slaw. Very good meal and drink. I went into park lunch on my own in November on a whim for lunch. Several friends have told me good things about it so I decided to duck in. It's pretty cool. All the patrons there seem to know each other and chatted with middle-aged waitresses. The walls are lined with college pennants and photos of old Newburyport high school athletic teams. Quite a friendly vibe overall. I ordered the clam dinner which was about 20 bucks. Lots and lots of fried clams which would've been great except they were a little bit sandy. Not sandy enough where I complained about them but enough so that you could taste the sand and it detracted from the flavor of the clams which were otherwise very good. The fries were great and the coleslaw was creamy and very good. Usually I do complain about food if I don't like it mostly to help the kitchen improve their cooking. The Park Lunch looks like a local spot because it was filllled with customers that were all friendly with the waitress and knew exactly what they wanted. I didn't feel very safe being inside during COVID because all the tables were occupied, but we were getting takeout anyways! We were a little skeptical because the fried clams seemed pricey compared to other New England seafood spots we've tried, BUT they were so worth it. We got a "small" side of clam strips for ~$30, and it filled an entire takeout styrofoam container. Easily shareable between 4 people. They also have a dinner option, which comes with fries and coleslaw, but we just came for the clams. There weren't any fried bits of breading, just whole clams crisped to perfection! Ive experienced the best clam shacks in southern New England from RI, to Cape Cod, Cape Ann, Cape Neddick, costal NH, and southern coast of Main but nothing has beat this one. A friend told me, "you won't believe the pile of clams you get". When this came to the table my mouth dropped, I had goose bumps, and my eyes popped. Came here on Friday evening and the outdoor seating looked lively. I think it is a family restaurant. We ordered multiple plates of fish and chips, fried shrimp, Mac and cheese and a large pizza. The fried shrimp were awesome. The fish portion of the fish and chips was tiny. The pizza was overloaded with cheese and it overpowered the toppings.
