My honey and his friends have gone to this place numerous times over the years and love it. I had to try it for myself. This place did not disappoint at all! My first impression was Wow! This place is immaculate! Every inch of the walls were covered with college banners from all over as well as pictures. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous. One waitress has worked there for 30 years. That's a huge plus in my book. We started out with a few beers. They have beer on tap and bottles as well. There is a full bar. It's small but it was packed at 3:30 on this Wednesday afternoon. We asked the bartender about what we were looking to get...I always go large...thankfully he said that a small full bellied clam app and a small huge sized scallop plate with fries would be enough for us. We were so full! Even left with leftovers. Let me just say...can you say, best seafood anywhere? Seriously! So gooood! You have to try this place. Parking is available. If you're going when it's dark, watch for the sign. It isn't that bright. That would be my only thing that wasn't 100%. But hey, it's what's in the inside, right?

Cute place! Lots of sports memorabilia on the walls. Arrived around 5:00pm on a Sunday night. The place was full. I ordered the fried clams plate. Big portion and good French fries. My friend ordered a turkey club and I could see it was stuffed with great looking fresh ingredients, thick sliced turkey, crisp lettuce and nice tomatoes. Again a good portion!

Lori and I were looking for the best fried clams and this small off the beaten path spot came up, so we gave it a try. Looks like a local sports bar and has a big menu, that offers a large variety of seafood, burgers, sandwiches and even quiche. We had a good waitress who you could tell was a local and longtime worker at the place. Crowd inside was locals and not tourists like us. Lori got the fried whole belly clams and the plate was very large. She loved them and said they were perfectly battered. I had a good order of the fried scallops, also lightly battered and cooked well. My only complaint, would be I like my fries cooked a little crispier, but they were cooked like they should be, not the way I like lol

What a cool place to take a small step back in time (the 1970s) to get some fabulous fried clams. 1970s music was abound when we stopped in for mid afternoon fried clam dinner. Though the clams were marked "market price" which can sometimes be a scary proposition we were told we wouldn't be disappointed... we weren't. About 10 minutes later a mountain of fried clams plop themselves on the table accompanied with coleslaw and french fries. We weren't sure we can eat all the clams but the two of us managed. The clams were very good sized, very tasty, and were everything we hoped for. "Fried" to perfection and hot. The side of coleslaw was chilled just right and had a nice savory taste. Even the french fries that seem to be somewhat antiseptic we're also hot and delicious. It's a diner looking place on the outside and one could argue not the most modern on the inside, but it's the food that matters and boy did the food matter!

Fried clams the best around, with an icey ipa. Pricey and worthwhile. Nice warm local place.

Decided to try this place out after a day enjoying Salisbury Beach. A friend had been raving about the fried clams and I finally went. Place was easy to get to once you get to Salisbury center. Plenty of parking around the location and nice outside seating each table was umbrella covered. Nice casual vibe and attentive service. Waitress took my cold draft order and dinner order promptly. My delicious whole belly fried clam dinner came out very quickly. Very tasty sweet, crisp, plump clams with pile of crisp French fries and side of Cole slaw. Very good meal and drink. Pleasant experience. Highly recommend if in the area.

Fried clam dinner, great flavor, too sandy

The food was good and the service was even better. The kids had fun looking at all of the pennants hanging around the restaurant.

The River House in Portsmouth, Tuna Striker Pub on Seabrook Harbor and lastly The Deck in Salisbury overlooking the Merrimack River and Newburyport Harbor! He chose The Deck in Salisbury and I agreed bc it's in a great location with beautiful views! When we got there their Parking Lot was full but they had additional parking across Rt.1 where they offered a golf cart shuttle to the Restaurant! We decided to just walk over! The Deck was very busy probably bc it's Father's Day! We were seated at a high top table, enjoyed the views and were amazed at the number of staff they had maneuvering around the tables, with precision I might add, delivering food to the tables! It was quite an impressive sight! Our Waitress was very pleasant, welcomed us and was attentive throughout our visit! There were six of us and we chose the following menu items...My Daughter in Law chose the "Caprese Salad w/grilled Chicken, the Grand Children had a Cheeseburger and the oldest a Lobster Roll, his favorite, which by the way can be ordered warm w/Butter MKT Price which our Waitress said was $48, it seems to be the going price right now in better restaurants! It was a decent portion of Lobster meat! My significant other and Son both opted for the fried Scallops , hers with Onion Rings, which were fried in a light batter and tasty, his with Fries! The Scallops were excellent, fried in a light batter and delicious! I chose the "Deck Blues Burger" which was one of the best Burgers I've ever had and grilled medium to perfection! The food all around was excellent and when you add the beautiful views it made for one of the most memorable Father's Day's! We highly recommend "The Deck" and it will become one of our favorite dining spots in the future! Food...5 Vibe....5 Staff...5

** Burger and Donut Review **…read more Outstanding space with a rustic modern look, a 4-sided bar, balanced seating (booths, tables, high-tops), an outdoor patio, and a private room. My wife and I had the pleasure of sitting in seats more akin to living room furniture-- that's a good thing. Also good was the breeze that blew in from the deck on a hot day. -- Blackened Cod Sandwich: This was my wife's lunch and it looked very good, with a brioche bun, and no shortage of condiments. Most importantly, the tall portion of fish was very moist and very well seasoned. My small taste didn't have the classic "blackened" vibe, but it was very good. A mini basket of fries provided plenty. Probably frozen, but good quality and a good balance between crisp and droopy. -- Dry Aged Burger: As a burger aficionado, that's what I came for, and a dry aged one-- a rarity around Boston, sadly-- gets my attention immediately. This one, ordered medium rare, brought a decent crust and decent moistness inside, though both could be more pronounced. It was probably closer to medium than medium rare, and the brioche bun was a white bready under the dome, but it worked. The dry aged flavor came through immediately. Good supporting cast among the sauces and vegetation, and same fry basket treatment as on my wife's plate. Overall, good instead of the hoped-for great. -- Donuts: We came at brunch, so this was a nice option for us to treat as a dessert. My opening came when I saw another server walk by with a plate and I asked her upon returning, "What was that plate of meatball-looking things?" She said those were the apple cider donut bites, and proceeded to gush that they were her favorite thing on the menu and a don't-miss item. This prevented me from having to twist my wife's arm, so it was a done deal. The "bites" were fairly large, closer to baseball size than golfball size, with a nice thick outer crunch yielding to a very warm, still-moist-but-fully-cooked interior. Delicious cinnamon flavor on the outside, natural donut dough flavor inside, and kicked up by a thin, cinnamon-maple sauce underneath and a whipped cream (they called it and vanilla anglaise) on the sides. Fantastic, and in an era when "artisan" donuts run $5 apiece even out of a fridge, getting six warm ones of higher quality for $12 was a steal. The burger was closer to good than great, but overall a good meal, good service, great space, and surprisingly good value (on all three items). I'd be interested to try them for dinner.
