What a wonderful spot. Absolutely delicious food and stellar service. Also met one of the owners who was most charming and very informative about the area. Great lunch stop! Friendly owner and waitress. Menu was full of sandwiches, salads and they featured 2 soups. My mother ordered the cold plate consisting of macaroni salad, chicken salad, and fresh fruit. My mother said all were exceptional and fresh. I had a chicken caesar salad. So good. Ice cold romaine lettuce, tossed in a flavorful caesar dressing, huge homemade croutons, lightly seasoned shredded chicken, and topped with Parmesan cheese. The portion was huge and really filling. If you're in Westfield please do yourself a favor and stop by for lunch. I can't wait to stop in for dinner on Friday or Saturday. The southerner in me should have known to call ahead to KISS BBQ before driving 40 miles in the middle of winter. They were closed. But the same southerner really wanted BBQ. Fortunately, I ended up at The Parkview, an nice little eatery in quaint downtown Westfield, NY. It's a small town, but the restaurant was full of retirees meeting for lunch, a young out-of-towner looking over plans for a nearby vineyard, some other locals, and me--a music theorist from Buffalo. Lunch at the Parkview involves the three S's (soups, salad, sandwich) that so many places manage to turn into a forgettable experience. Upon spotting the three S's on the menu, I was sort of disappointed, but the food turned out to be great. I had a cheesesteak sandwich with macaroni salad. Highly recommend the macaroni salad, which was creamy and salty and everything else that is good. The cheesesteak was good, too. I abhor cheese steaks with meat that has been cooked too long and cheese that hasn't. Theirs strikes the right balance, and its served on a big, fresh piece of bread. My only complaint is that the whole thing was a bit of a soggy mess. (Toasting the inside of the bun a bit longer or serving it on a hoagie would fix the problem.) At the end of the meal, Ed--one of the owners--came over to say, give me a business card, and tell me about Westfield. (They grow Welch's grapes here!) If you're from Buffalo, it's a long drive for the three S's, but if you're starting a road trip down the 90 or your looking for a cute weekend getaway, stop in Westfield and go to the Parkview. read more

The owner of this restaurant is outstanding. I had a problem last Sunday with an employee that made a mistake on seating when I showed up without a reservation. He jumped in and corrected the problem and waited on our table personally. He is a great example of what a business owner should strive to be like. Parkview is now on my list of favorite restaurants and not just because of the owner - the food was outstanding- 10 stars. I'm going back this weekend and when in town every weekend. We had been staying over at Inn at the Peak experiencing one disappointment after another, and when they cancelled brunch, we went looking for something grand to make up for it. We were not disappointed at all. The Parkview is a wonderful, locally owned cafe with personal, excellent service and fantastic food. One of the owners, Ed, greeted us personally, and made sure we had everything we needed for the meal. We all had bellinis, which were copious and excellently made. I had the crab cakes eggs benedict, which were perfect; my mom had an omelet that was heavenly, and my husband had a chicken pot pie, which again, was perfect. Portions sizes were great; not falling off the plate, so you got a feeling individual attention went into the food and each bite felt special. Even the home fries, a brunch staple, were exceptional. At the end of the meal, we complemented Ed on his business and he lamented that he'd have put the drinks on the house had he known it was my birthday. He invited us back for dinner, and we will definitely take him up on in the next time we're in the area. Fantastic place; highly recommend it; they make you feel like family. read more

Such a positive vibe and enjoyable evening here at Parkview. When we sat, Ed, the owner, came to greet us and chat. He informed us of the quality of food and recommended certain dishes. With his recommendation, we ordered the calamari and bruschetta for 2 apps, a salad, and the white fish wrapping crab meat. The apps were wonderfully portioned and we love the calamari. It's lightly breaded and is complemented with a sweet chili sauce. The bruschetta is hefty with toppings of shrimp and tomatoes, very savory with each bite. Caesar salad was good, there is a prosecco blue cheese dressing option that's quirky to me in taste, but may work for you. The white fish and crab dish is delectable. Fish was flakey and the crab mean was phenomenal, so tasty. Excellent recommendation from Ed. Our waitress for the evening was top notch, checked on us and refilled our sodas. At the end of the evening, Ed came to use once more to ensure we were satisfied (and we most certainly were!) and offered wine for the evening. I had planned on eating lunch on the shore of Lake Erie but it was very foggy and the Parkview was near the statues. One of the best places to eat in Westfield and usually the food is great. Last visit was for breakfast and it was not that good. Quiche was well made but old and a bit dry. The fruit was not fresh. And they definitely need more staff. We waited forever to get our food and check (in their defense, we had a large party of 11). 2nd trip to the Parkview- Love this pretty little place! It's decor is vintage and contemporary and classy all in one (and very clean ) Had the chicken panini sandwich and a bowl of gouda soup that were both excellent. Took half the sandwich home for dinner since it was huge. The owner greets you and is passionate about what they do and wants to please. The waitress was efficient and sweet. It's a tiny place with maybe 10 tables inside, and two or three outside. It does breakfast till 11:30, and closes around 2:00. It reopens at 5:00 for dinner. We went during lunch. The food was very good, I had the Philly cheese steak, and many in my party had the turkey sandwich with avocado. They liked it very much. The sides were fruit, macaroni salad, and broccoli. The menu had maybe 15 lunch kittens to order. The service was good. Only grow is it took a little but of time to find my two year old a high chair.
