I have been coming to Parkway Cafe for years. It is a little hole in the wall. On the weekends they have different specials and honestly I almost always get one. The menu leans a little more Mexican however they have regular cafe food too. For breakfast I recommend the breakfast enchiladas or the Mexican hash browns. The pancakes are large, almost the size of plate. They serve lunch too. The restaurant is a seat yourself and during peak hours you will wait inline and watch for tables to leave. Parking lot is small and most of the time you will parallel park on the road. The staff is very friendly and will give suggestions. read more

This is a very casual and warm breakfast place. It is tucked away on Pearl street on the other side of diagonal highway, in a more industrial area of Pearl st. It is a seat yourself kind of place, and they have a variety of small to large group tables & booths. The staff are responsive immediately, you get drinks asap and a waiter comes by promptly as well. Their menu has a more latin flavor profile to it, with a play on breakfast enchiladas, sopes and burritos as well as the more generic breakfast basics. Everything is seasoned nicely and the salsa's have a decent spice kick to them that elevates them from boring to good. I highly recommend the mexican hot chocolate - you can order it without the churros - it is super delicious !!!! Their parkway potatoes are seasoned with rosemary which is a nice take away from the basic bland potatoes you find elsewhere. They definitely have lots of nice flavor to them. For me, I am especially happy when I eat here because they have a huge variety of vegetarian options with the latin breakfast flavors they offer. They also have a nice array of cheap sides for kids meals, you can get great lil kiddo meal for about $6 or so. Parking is limited in their lot, but there is parking available all up and down Pearl Street. They do have highchairs, but no crayons or other entertainment for the kids so pack some toys if you need it. They do have outdoor seating, but with the cold nobody is heading out there right now. It will make for a lovely breakfast place come spring or summer on their decorated patio tho. The restaurant is a little off the beaten path on a side road, so it could be missed if you aren't looking for it. I really like using Yelp for finding a good Wednesday team lunch location and this one was about as good as it can get. We were greeted immediately and invited to sit wherever we liked. Our waitress was spot on, gave us menus and asked us all right away if we would like anything to drink, coke, tea. A great hidden place for breakfast in Boulder. Visited this place on a Sunday around 8:05 and almost more than half the place was occupied l (even though they open at 8:00am!) we noticed that the customers were mostly elderly, I guess young people tend to sleep late on Sundays. You seat yourself so make sure you arrive before 8:15am given by that time the place was fully occupied and people had to wait. My wife got the Boulder omelette and I got the veggie Benedict. Both were good and they were over generous with the hollandaise sauce. As a side order I went the the french toast and my wife went with slices of tomatoes and cottage cheese. The french toast was standard. Food portions were large! They were really generous with the coffee too. Whenever it's half full they would ask you if you want a refill. We met Alfredo when we went to Il pastaio for dinner last night. We loved all of his recommendations so much, we came to The Parkway Cafe based on his recommendation as well. Remember when you grandparents would take you to their favorite cafe, the same one they visit once per week without fail. This is THAT place, the place where all the old folks in Boulder frequent. And mixed in among them, you find the young people too who have come to appreciate the old fashioned version of hospitality in a town which grew up and got seriously urban real quick. He literally asked if we could come back for breakfast the next morning, even though by then we were staying an hour away! I liked that there was an outdoor seating option, wasn't expecting that.
