Came in today to buy a slice of cheesecake like every year for my family member's birthday, but got a half-slice and charged $6.59. (it was 4+5 dollars per slice last year). Went back and mentioned this, the workers inside gave me a new slice that was just shorter and wider and not actually larger and said that next time it won't be that big. There won't be a next time because I'm taking my business elsewhere for the poor service/rudeness. Also, there was moisture in the cake container itself and the handling of the cake-cutting knife was questionable for food safety. (Rinsed in tap water then stuck in a can with tap water until next person ordered even though it's dairy products on the knife...) the patio at this location was better in the past but has declined over the years. read more

For years this has been my "go to" when I'm at work! Known for ribs, pulled pork, half roasted chicken and brisket which are wildly popular and ironically I've had none of those dishes!! If you want a generous, fresh and well put together salad... this is the place. My favorite is the Caribbean Jerk chicken salad with mango dressing, runner up is the Greek salad with grilled chicken, lavished with huge chunks of feta and optional anchovies. Every salad is generous, fresh and delicious. On Mondays they usually have Greek Lemon Chicken soup with orzo (not rice). Not to be overlooked are the fish tacos... grilled fish with sauce, cabbage and cilantro (I usually ask them to hold the cilantro). Surprise: as a ""side dish" they have baked potatoes, Mac n cheese, and the usual suspects but worth every penny of $$4.99 are the oven roasted vegetables, deliciously seasoned and a generous portion for a side dish. First time here, COVID friendly layout allows lots of space between you and others, hand sanitizer stations and staff constantly cleaning. It was hot outside but very cool inside. Food temp was good everything was hot not warm and tasted good. Ordered fish tacos and fries, tortillas were a bit dry and fish a bit smaller than I expected but it was good. Ordered fries crispy and they came out perfect and very hot. However the menu board shows waffle fries and I received regular fries, not a big deal just not what I was expecting. 3 small tacos, fries, and a fountain drink was $16 before tax. The menu has a great looking selection but prices make it hard to be considered for a regular visit (almost $18 with tax and no tip). At the end of the day unless they have an item on the menu no one else does or the do something better than anyone else I'd probably recommend another nearby restaurant first. read more

I thought this would be a little better than it was. First time here and ordered my favorite pulled pork, corn on the cob, and fries. The pulled pork was ok. A little bland and without the bbq sauce wouldn't have tasted like much. The sweet corn was really good! The fries were likely your typical frozen fries and came out cold and dry. So this meal was all over the place and not worth the $14.00 they charge. I would say stick with the sandwhich for half the price. I travel from Streamwood to Aurora yesterday to go shopping and to stop for lunch here at The Patio. I enjoyed my lunch very much. Your onion rings were so good the best I've had in a long time. Had the soup and salad and just the soup and yummy fresh bread was enough and the salad was enough for two people. I took the salad home for another meal. Everything was fresh and the service was great. Streamwood/Schaumburg area needs "The Patio" in our area! read more

Pros and cons. Pros - I got the beef brisket dinner plate. Absolutely terrific! I loved the sauce, but I like it a little sweeter, so that was perfect for me. Sweet potato waffle fries were done to perfection. Cons - If your menu board says that I have a choice of potato that comes with the most expensive dinner plate, and I choose sweet potato waffle fries, why would you then charge me $2 extra?? The coleslaw was terrible. It tasted sour. With that much brisket I think it would be good to get two pieces of bread instead of just one. The man taking orders through the drive through was gruff. The guy that brought my food out to me acted like he wanted to be anywhere but there. These two positions are the most customer facing positions, so they really should act like they like their job. The Patio never disappoints. This family owned small chain is always impeccably clean at every location that we visit. The staff are professional and always willing to please as they are attentive and quick to serve and clean.the food is all prepared fresh in house with by far the largest selection of food categories in one restaurant. I typically order the rotisserie chicken and upgrade to add a soup, wile the others will order grilled chicken or BBQ, but this time the family had burgers for the first time. We were beyond impressed with our brisket burgers, and pretzel BBQ burgers. Of course we had to grab a cup of their amazing cream of chicken rice soup with lemon wedges to go for a late night snack. I would offer this.. if you're ever tired of driving around trying to figure out where to dine where there is something for everyone then this should be your fist and final destination!! read more

The smell walking into The Patio was absolutely amazing. Roasted chicken, ribs, and amazing spices just wafted through the air and got me so hungry I was almost salivating. It made me want ribs with some sides when I'd originally just been thinking I'd get a burger or something simple. And so I got a half rib rack with a side of beef brisket, garlic mashed potatoes and a side salad. The side salad was lettuce, shaved carrots, once slice of cucumber and one wedge of tomato. I understand you don't go to a barbeque place for the salad but a little something more would have been nice. Perhaps living in the South has colored my view on bbq. The biggest injustice was that the meat was dry. Overcooked. The sauce was tasty and the seasonings were fine but overcooked bbq is just not right. There was no juicyness, no succulence. The mashed potatoes were fine. Nice and garlicky. My daughter got some macaroni and cheese, which she did not eat, but she'd had a large lunch. She said it tasted good, she just didn't seem interested. The people were friendly and the establishment was clean but the food just isn't worth it for me. I'd rather go find one of the bbq food trucks I've seen around and give them a try or make some ribs at home. I debated a 3 star rating - after all, everything was affordable and portion sizes were nice enough. After thinking about it it came down to the fact that I just don't plan on coming back and would rather find somewhere else nearby, even if it's a little more expensive. read more

Review is for the seasonal Reuben sandwich. I ordered the Reuben last year when only offered the week of St Patrick's. One of my favorite sandwiches and this was the best I've ever had, lean meat, and not saucy (to much of my surprise, I usually add more sauce). Swiss cheese and sauerkraut on toasted bread. My picky husband who hates stringy meat, i strong armed him to try it, said it was really good, even later in the day commented how good and lean it was. Big fan of this place. I guess you can throw it into the same category Portillos is in. Upscale fast food. Obviously, like the name suggests, it's mostly BBQ, grilled meats or food you'd be cooking outside in the summer with a cold beer (they actually have a nice bar inside also) but they have other local favorites! I've really only tried BBQ options here and they are bomb! Love the brisket sandwich or their BBQ burger. I've tried a bite of their Italian beef as well, it was pretty tasty but I prefer Buona Beef over anything around here. They have a ton of sides also. Try the cornbread. Not bad at all. One thing I haven't ordered ,but I will next time, is the BBQ Tacos. Basically street tacos but your choice of BBQ meat instead. Sounds pretty dope. If you need a quick bite to cure those BBQ cravings hit up The Patio. Good stuff and you'll get the "itis" and need a nap right after. Plus it feels like you're sitting outside...while being inside. Yay, I am a fan! My husband had had The Patio for a work luncheon and said it was good so off we went to get fueled up for the day. They post the menu as you walk in the door so you don't hold up the line- no wishy washy here folks. I went w/ their DELICIOUS chicken, apple, pecan, blue cheese salad w/ the f.f raspberry vinaigrette $8.99- this salad is huge and worth every single cent! They also give you a hard roll- I soaked it in my vinaigrette to make it palatable- I like soft rolls. My husband enjoyed his Greek chicken salad $9.95. They give you three blocks of feta and he asked for it w/ anchovies. They give you a # and bring you your food when it is ready- don't worry about grabbing ware- they bring it w/ your food. Came here for a Saturday dinner and was very pleased with the service. The line was a bit long but it moved very fast. By the time we ordered, got our drinks, and found a booth to sit down at, our food came out immediately! I was very amazed. Got the fish tacos (comes in 3) while my friend got a quarter rotisserie chicken and we shared a cup of the soup of the day (chicken w/ rice soup). The soup was meh but since it was cold outside, we couldn't resist slurping down some soup. I really enjoyed my fish tacos. Average, American fare. Food is ok, service is pretty good... nothing spectacular. If I'm in a pinch and I need something I will head here. Sometimes my food is overly greasy, sometimes it is just right. I think they have a few things to maneuver in order to make me want to come back more than 1-2 times a year. Pretty good really, for "fast food" sort of. My salad and Mac n cheese came out super fast, due to that my only ding is that the chicken was very dry. If you get the food in less than 5 minutes you know it has to be cooked ahead. But really pretty tasty and a good alternative to a McDonald's or Burger King. I will try it again. read more

I'm a huge fan of The Patio! And so when they opened up on Route 59 I was one of the first to come here, and wow did they wow me! The place is GINORMOUS! It's almost unfathomable that they actually built their own building from scratch here with so many vacant buildings to choose from. But regardless I am pleased with the results. This location is ultra modern and sleek with clear glass outer walls so that patrons can sit and feel almost that they are outdoors on a patio! They must have consulted a feng shui expert because the decor tables and chairs include a wonderful mix of metal, stone, glass & greenery. LOL! Just my observation that this location puts you amazingly at ease. We recently went on a Friday night after a concert. The place was packed! Having already eaten dinner before the concert we just decided to stop in for a "midnight snack". Although I have had many different entrees at The Patio I have never had their onion rings, fried mushrooms and fried zucchini before but they were all what you would expect. Yummy comfort food at a good price. Almost every table was taken and it was a very lively night. The staff was on their toes and very helpful in removing empty dishes. I remember visiting The Patio in Darien years and years ago for some good old fashion BBQ, so it was a bit nostalgia when I first saw the construction of this Aurora/Naperville location. However, when I stepped into the brand new established I was bit taken aback at how nice the dinning area was. There a few areas to sit in and a plethora of TVs to keep you entertained while waiting. This made for a really enjoyable dining experience as me and friend enjoyed our food with some NBA playoff basketball. Strangely enough, I didn't go with ribs for my first time back. Instead I opted for the roasted chicken dinner, which at $11 (with a drink) wasn't a bad deal at all. Included was half a chicken, coleslaw, a healthy portion of mashed potatoes, and roll. The chicken was cooked to a good temperature, not too dry while maintaining a nice crispy skin. However, the chicken didn't really have much flavor and needed a bit of help from the BBQ sauce on the table. The coleslaw is mayo based, but had a nice crisp to it. The mashed potatoes were super creamy and buttery. This was probably my highlight of the meal. The roll was a bit stale so it remained relatively untouched throughout the meal. Overall, I think the establishment is a good additional to the the area. The menu is pretty vast, while still offering a specialty item (the ribs) to draw in people with specific cravings. The seating area is comfortable and really nice. I will give the food another chance, even though my meal was relatively average. read more

I really wanted to like this! I loved the concept and the ordering was very easy as there's these video boards when you first come in. The space was nice and the employees were very friendly. The reason for the two stars is the food quality. I didn't think the price was horrible if the quality was there, but I got the feeling that they're cutting corners on some stuff. The BBQ sauce on the pulled turkey sandwich was so sweet and thick. It tasted generic--more of a food service quality. I would have liked different sauce options. To be fair, they had another sauce on the table but it was too vinegary. I would have loved a good smoky sauce. I also got pulled pork nachos from the appetizer menu. I was thinking my table would share it before the sandwiches, but it came out with the meal. Maybe it's not really for appetizers? This too seemed to have cut corners. The cheeses seemed to be from food service--they were all extra long uniform shreds of cheese. The chips held up well to the nachos but they also seemed smaller and from a food service. The drink counter is really nice in that there's tons of space and options. I was excited to try the watermelon tea, but wasn't thrilled. The good news is there was plenty of other options. This restaurant is good. I am not very familiar with the restaurant, including its menu, but I knew it even before, and it is just that I never got the chance to visit it. I was with my friends when I went in here, and we were a group of four at our table. The restaurant is clean, and the atmosphere is just basically fine and somehow cozy. The staff are friendly and attentive. I was not familiar with their menu, and I was really surprised to see how many good options they have on their menu. I did not really expect that. They have Greek food, traditional American foods, and even some Mexican foods. The options are really good, but my friend seems to be interested in their pulled pork sandwich, so she asked the staff, and the staff said that it is really good and many people are ordering it. That is why I got curious and ordered it as well. The service is quick too. The pulled pork is definitely good, and I understand why many people are ordering it. It was juicy, meaty, and just delicious. The pork is tender and the flavor is perfect. The only downside here is their prices. We only ordered the pulled pork and some sides, and our bill was unexpectedly very expensive. It is expensive, but we really enjoyed the food, especially the pulled pork sandwich. read more
