This is an extremely busy cafe in Fig Garden Village, a very busy shopping center at the end of what we natives call "Old Fig." It's a special place in the city, hold memories for some of us back to the 1950s when it first opened. Patio Cafe is located on the northwest end of the center in what was once known as the professional building. My eye doctor was in this wing for a very long time. Taking up a lot of parking space out front, the cafe has made itself into a "patio." When I was there last week the patio was very busy, lots of groups enjoying a rare summer day that allowed for outdoor eating. I prefer the indoor part of the cafe. A window seat is even better. Our group of four retired teachers enjoyed a leisurely lunch, dining on really good salads. A nice treat for me is the espresso they serve. If you ask, they will bring you a wonderful loaf of bread of Boulangerie, the French bakery that sits across the parking lot in the old part of the shopping center. Food is delicious. Setting is very nice. Please be kind to the waitstaff. It gets busy. There are two areas, indoor and outdoor, to serve. It really is not a large restaurant but so many people come and go, especially at peak lunch hour. Don't be in a rush. read more

Came here for an early Saturday morning breakfast with a friend, and overall, we were pleased with our visit- with just a few notes. We arrived about 45 minutes after opening, and we were the second customers there. The service was friendly and accommodating, as we did modify and add items to the posted menu items. Ordered at our table was a benedict with potatoes, a full deep pocket waffle (4 pieces total) with potatoes, avocado, and tomatoes, and 2 coffees. Everything was flavorful, but the items you would expect to be hot were just very slightly warm such as the waffle and potatoes. We added a side of hollandaise, and it was cool, not warm. The portions were ample, and presentation was great. The prices are a bit high for breakfast items, but is an appropriate match for the flavors, the atmosphere, and the beautiful shopping center. I loved drinking coffee from the classic coffee shop mugs that are sturdy, comforting, and smooth against your mouth. Would I return?...Absolutely! Definitely arriving early is a way to go because as we left, it was getting packed. In the spring and summer, eating at the outdoor patio seating will for sure be a must! read more

The potatoes that came on the side had zero seasoning. The "fruit stack" is a small half a centimeter thick piece of pineapple and an orange wedge. This place is very trendy. We got there mid morning. I think we missed the crowds. We got there just in time. They sat us down very quick. It was just my two daughters and I. Gaby our waitress was so nice, kind and very helpful. She wrote everything down to the dot as how I wanted my chilaquiles. My daughter got the hot chocolate and it was very cute with whip cream on top and some sprinkles. I got coffee and then we ordered the breakfast. It was pancakes breakfast, the western omelet with potatoes and the special chilaquiles. Everything came out very good and they didn't take that long to serve it. We would definitely come back because it's a cute cozy place to have breakfast. They also offered some things like honey, cookies, nuts, home made granola. And many more things. Our family of four went for a weekend brunch. The food was just so-so...salad that's 95% iceberg lettuce and a few small pieces of chicken, omelet with most of the cheese left un-melted, and two standard fare sandwiches. My complaint, however, are the ridiculous prices. These four items plus one lemonade (which was so sweet it was not drink-able) and the bill before tip was $120!!! We will never return. read more

This location is in a shared plaza with lots of parking. There is both indoor and patio seating. They were busy when we arrived but we did manage to get their last available table. Our waiter was friendly. The interior is cute and open. I liked that they served breakfast throughout the time they are open. I liked my huevos rancheros adding the chorizo was a god choice. The portion size was good. The prices were a tad bit high and we had to wait for a bit for our bill to arrive. read more

In all honesty, the food is a solid 3.5. But I round up the review to four stars because customer service is pretty good here. The first time I came, I tried the sweet potato hash, and I was a bit, taken a back by the seasonings they used on the potatoes, it tasted like Indian spices, which didn't go well with the eggs and the eggs had no flavor or salt on them. Today, I decided to go with the avocado toast which has two poached eggs on top again no salt or pepper. It was just plain Jane for $20 bucks it was not really worth it. The Chilaquiles are decent, although not authentic like you would find at a Mexican restaurant but good portion for the price. I think the best thing to get here are the crabcake Benedict, they're worth the price and they're actually very tasty. I have not tried any of the waffles or pancakes or any sweet stuff cause I'm not really into that. However , it seems like a lot of people do enjoy those types of dishes here. They make fresh squeeze orange juice which is nice. Customer service is always really good here and despite it being a busy atmosphere I get seated right away and don't wait more than 2 to 3 minutes for a Table. I think it's worth trying. Just know that the menu is hit or miss. read more

In town with the family and came here since it was the closest to where we were Staying and the original place i had picked around the corner apparently closed down. I understand everything is expensive, and restaurant expenses, and no problem paying $$ for GOOD food. However, this was extremely overpriced place for terrible food, I think even Dennys or drive thru joint beats the quality of their food. First off, pancakes horrible, thick,dense my kids tossed. Eggs, well not sure if you're able to mess that up but edible. Sunrise sandwich soggy, bland. Potatoes were cold and poor quality, awful taste dry, were tossed out. The adult pancakes short stack they will CHARGE ADDITIONAL $7 FOR 2 BAD LARGE PANCAKES and ADDITIONAL $6 FOR MAKING IT INTO COMBO. After almost $100 out, we still were hungry as most of it was tossed. Overall, would NOT COME BACK and DO NOT recommend. Sorry, they need a complete menu overhaul and training in the kitchen. Also, be prepared to pay an almost 4% MORE on EACH item if you use your card. read more

Came to the patio cafe for the first time, the day was nice so we sat outside. I got coffee & ordered the petite Texas style French toast with scrambled eggs, bacon and a cup of fruit. The food was good, the serving of bacon was generous and the eggs tasted amazing. The fruit cup was phenomenal, they had various berries, orange slice and fresh pineapple slices. All in all the food was fantastic. Service was dismal on the patio. After our food was brought to us we didn't see our waitress again until she brought the check. So we didn't get coffee or water refills which was a bummer. The pricing here is on the expensive side. They have a breakfast burrito on the menu and to add meat to it it comes out to about $20. I get it though, it's the nicer side of town and that's the customers they want but I'm not sure for that price point it's worth it. read more

In Fig Garden is this hidden spot I never been too before and went there recently for Sunday brunch. The service was fast and they don't give you much time to actually look at the menu. Overall the food was great and even size portions. The setting reminded me of a country side villa. Definitely recommend you stop by there for breakfast in the Fig Garden area. It was nice and creamy, topped with berries (raspberries, blackberries, strawberries) and had some well toasted oats on top for an added crunch. Really interesting touch. I didn't realize it was so close to my house and that I pass it by every time I go grocery shopping since it's in Fig Garden. But this place is amazing! My first visit was right during spring, and the store was bright with a flower wall that I loved. The staff was so friendly and nice, and the food came out quickly and was great. It's a lot of food, especially for a single diner. I got the passion fruit lemonade and have been hooked on trying to make it my own ever since--just know I haven't been successful. Wasn't busy at 8 AM, but the service was rather slow... I didn't mind because I thought they might be attending more carefully to the meal. I ordered the three eggs with vegetables with balsamic on a piece of country, white bread, topped with hollandaise and a side of the country potatoes.... I specifically asked for extra extra extra hollandaise sauce ... and repeated it very carefully meeting eye contact with the waiter: 'extra, Extra, EXTRA!' What arrived with cold country potatoes. The bread with the vegetables and eggs was not even topped with hollandaise sauce... and they were two small little tiny cups, one almost full and the other one half full of sauce.. Aside from the hollandaise sauce for being cold, how is this anyway extra and why wasn't a check before it was brought to the table? This plate was $23 and tax. The mushrooms and onions on it we're not generous.... kind of cheap actually, for being the most expensive item on the menu... I would not order it again because of this value... Overall, I was not impressed with the attention. The dish or my order.. even the potatoes are on the cheap side, if they were even hot. The cheapest ingredient in the kitchen...what a rip! Staff was fine, but didn't make sure the dots were connected... It was also rather cold in here so early to have the AC blasting... The plate would've been far better had it included some kind of protein, more vegetables, more potatoes, and they were hot. We don't need to get back into the hollandaise sauce, or lack there of... a PISS OFF! I don't understand, is getting hot food a special request that also doesn't get fulfilled? How was the kitchen putting out food like that and moving so slowly? The cook in the kitchen moved like he was asleep and it translated to the crappy plate they put out. There were a total of five people in the restaurant, including myself. And if that's how the food comes out when it's slow, I can't imagine what flies out as passing when it's more busy...
