This café is super cute and hip. But when you go in the wee hours of the morning/around brunch, the crowd consists of older people who stare you down as well as little kiddos and their mommies. The place kind of reminds me of a barn because all of the wood--but like one that will be in a Taylor Swift video [Maybe that's why the older people are kind of standoffish b/c of the western cowboy feel?]. The food is absolutely scrumptious to the point where I want to lick all of my fingers after my meal and stand up to give the restaurant a round of applause. Okay, not that good, but it is up there! They serve breakfast AND lunch so there are pancakes, waffles (regular and chocolate--OMG. I know, right?), Texas melts, breakfast skillets, sausage (sun died tomato sausage, too!), burgers, etc.. Oh, and they also serve pies! The prices are quite reasonable, so it will not leave you crying. Give this place a try if you are tired of Denny's. The location is kind of hidden, which makes it cooler, and you may need to circle the area to find parking, but it is worth it. Try something new that you haven't had. Don't be boring! I do not for the life of me understand why there is a wait here. I'd rather have Taco Bell for breakfast; the portion will be bigger, the price lower, and you'll actually be able to taste the food. This place is cute I'll give it that, but I have serious reservations about spending $50 on a meal with absolutely no flavor. My table ordered the Huevos Rancheros, Chilaquiles, Classic Waffle, Bottomless Mimosa, and Vanilla Latte. Our drinks were great, earning the second star in this review. Everything else tasted canned or boxed. Who puts cheddar cheese on their Chilaquiles? If you're going to serve Mexican breakfast do your research. The staff seems nice and friendly, but the server for our table tried convincing us and the table next to us to order something else other than the Bottomless Mimosa. My guess is because she didn't want to be continually refilling our drinks. If it's going to be an inconvenience to your severs, don't offer it on the menu. I would have originally given this place 3 stars because the look and feel of this little cafe, located in the heart of downtown Monrovia, was very cutesy and filled with warm spring-time colors. I ordered Croissant French Toast with strawberries (they literally gave me 4 slices of strawberry) and powdered sugar. With maple syrup, it tasted really yummy but for $8.95 it was definitely not worth it. My friend had ordered a plate of 2 eggs with scalloped potatoes and a piece of bread and it did not look impressive at all. According to my friend, her plate of food was extremely disappointing (it costed around $9 as well) Not only was the food/prices slightly disappointing, our waitress "served" us with SO MUCH attitude and unneeded sass. While she was taking our order she spoke to us with so much impatience which made it well-known to us that she didn't want to be there. Very disappointed. Monrovia resident my entire life. My go to place weekly but service has gone down the tube. I understand Covid has taken a major hit on restaurants and trying to figure out managing with new employees is difficult but something should be done to get things back to where they were. Went there today and was told there was a 15 min wait. No problem. 19 mins later got the text and walked right up and they sat a party ahead of me on accident. I asked what happened and they told me they sent me the text to get seated on accident, which was bogus because I saw it all unfold. Ok whatever. No problem, I'll wait and get the next one... Table then opens up 10 mins later and I'm standing right there. They try and seat someone ahead of me again and I say I think there is some confusion but I am next. The waitress then says I just got off break and I follow the list!!! Major attitude! She seats them anyway and I felt it was going to be a yelling match with her so I ask for Chris and calmly explained the situation to him. Bottom line no table for another 10 mins is what I'm told.... Unfortunately it has now been 35 mins and I didn't have time to eat and had to leave. Three words: tater tots special. My cousin and I ordered three entrees between the two of us because that's how we roll. She ordered some type of scramble and I ordered the life rice, which was more of an egg white scramble. It was delicious and very satisfying! The egg whites were gentle scrambled with brown rice and other veggies. The bread was studded with healthy grains and lightly toasted. I also hogged some of my cousin's cornbread. I am happy to report that it was The Best cornbread I have ever tasted. Initially, I was miffed that there was no butter to slather on it but after my first bite, I concluded that no butter was necessary. The tater tots are also The Best tater tots I have ever eaten. Some time passed, tried it again thinking it must have been just a bad day for the restaurant, I'll give 'em another try... Again. Disappointment and not cheap. Strike two. The question is, will I give them another shot after receiving nearly raw potatoes in the breakfast skillet and a slightly rubbery textured blueberry waffle? Probably not. Especially since I think about them mainly at breakfast time when I am craving eggs benedict and then I remember that they use cornbread in place of english muffins. Short and Sweet: I've been here once with the wife. They are pretty fast to seat us although the friendliness was not supercharged when we came there. The server attire was quirky and the whole place kind of reminded me of 90's Seattle grunge. Chocolate french toast made using a croissant, eggs florintine, and skillet scramble.......all filling and relatively tasty. I'd eat there again to make sure ALL the food is good. The problem with rotten Peach Cafe, is the complete lack of customer service. Normally, the food is good, the scalloped potatoes are special and taste great! I walk into a completely empty restaurant and waited thirty minutes for a chorizo egg breakfast with a side of waffles and scalloped potatoes. The waitress couldn't care less that we were there. There is a big difference between allowing customers to enjoy one anothers company and ignoring them. My partner had an empty coffee cup for 15 minutes!!! More customers came in... I felt sorry for them. I walked into the bathroom, which is located across from the kitchen, and low and behold, there was my breakfast, turning into a rubbery mass of eggs and chorizo grease bleeding onto the plate. The waitress??? Oh she was busy chatting with her friends and sitting in the booth shooting the $hit. I know when I walk in, it takes less than 5-10 minutes to whip up some eggs and chorizo, so I am assuming that our food was warming itself for the last twenty minutes. WHAT THE HECK??? What would have been a great, amazing breakfast turned into a disapointing rubbery egg mess with a MIA blabber mouthed waitress, who had the nerve to be rude. I'm so not sorry to say that I spoke to the manager. There were so many plates warming under the lamps, which is such a shame. I've never been real excited about pancakes, but I had on very good authority that thee best BlueBerry Pancakes EVER resided at Peach Cafe. That was the first thing I tried and, I have to say, nothing else on the menu has compared to those cakes since. Don't get me wrong, I haven't had anything "bad"...just "decent" as far as the breakfast menu goes. I would recommend sticking to the pancakes or lunch sammies. There are some yummy options to be had for lunch. You can bring your canine pals here and the staff will have a fresh bowl of water on hand. This place has me so torn I need to bullet point my review: Enjoyable: -I love the waffles made with Bacon in the batter. -I have also enjoyed their pancakes. -Their coffee is really, really good. -The restaurant has great ambiance, both outside and inside. -People say it's pricey, but I'm willing to pay these prices for good food (but the place has to have good service too, and they don't). Not Enjoyable: -Having to sit and wait with empty coffee, water, and tea cups every time I'm there. -Having to ask for warm syrup or butter numerous times every time I'm there. -Having on more than one occaision have my waiter forget me altogether and just sit there while other tables get their food, eat, and pay. -Sitting with dirty plates and empty cups for upwards of half an hour one time - asking for the bill three times before I finally just went inside and paid. (Really, I thought about walking away, but I just couldn't do it. Darn ethics and morales!) It's mostly good food and I want to go back, but the place is understaffed and understaffed with not so good servers anyway. So.....if I hear that the wait staff turns over and the owners puts more staff on the floor and I think there's a chance I can go and enjoy a relaxing meal that is in service to me, the customer, I will be back! read more

I've wanted to try this place out for some time...I heard it's a bit pricey, but worth it. Old Town Monrovia has been slowly getting a lot more cute, little places to shop and dine in the past couple of years and I thought this one was worth the visit. So I took the special someone here since he's a breakfast kind of guy. It's nice because he was able to hold my hand and help preventing me from spending all my savings on yarn I would never use at Unraveled, the yarn store next door, and we go into the very adorably decorated Peach Cafe. It's an intimate space where they utilize every square inch of the place (READ: Very high potential for being sardine packed during a peak time). We got there with some spaces open, and was sweetly attended to to get our orders down. Their menu offers a generous selection of breakfast dishes and lunch sandwiches and the like, all of which can be ordered at any time. They also have beer and wine as well, which is a surprising thing to a cafe menu. What I was told was right: the food is a bit pricey, particularly for what you get. Mind you, the food is not bad and is actually decent, but for the price they charge, it could be better. I had the fitness wrap which consisted of egg whites with spinach and mushrooms in a tomato tortilla. It was prepared like an egg white omelette surrounding the spinach and mushroom. I have to say, I missed the yolk flavor (but it wouldn't be "fitness," would it...), and the reason I got the dish was because I'm a sucker for the spinach/mushroom combo. They were surprisingly generous with the mushrooms, which made me happy, but even more surprising was there wasn't as much spinach as I had expected. Across the table the breakfast wrap with bacon was ordered, and that looked good. And tasted good. I'm pretty disappointed to give this place three stars, but I must. Why? First, the fork I was served wasn't clean, and the table was a little sticky to the touch. Next was the fact that the service after getting our food did not exist. at. all. There were a few people working that day, and it wasn't super busy at the time, but they always seemed like they were in a hurry to get somewhere else and it was almost impossible to get their attention...we weren't in a corner, but it never seemed they even looked in our general direction, and this was just for a coffee refill (which was decent). What took the cake was that we were waiting for a good 20 minutes until we figured out how to pay for the bloody check. See, they place one of those number tents on your table after you order. It's confusing, because we first thought we take this number to the cashier and pay, but we did see some people at other tables get their check and leave way faster than we did and they arrived after us. Having this both our first visit here, we didn't know what to do. It wasn't until some new patrons came to sit two tables from us and cleared it themselves as it wasn't cleared for a few minutes (there seems to be a lack of bus people in the place), so when our waiter came to clear the dishes from the table next to us, we asked for our check and he seemed kinda aggravated when he asked us to take our number to the cashier. Now I understand when you're busy it's tough to help everybody, but it seemed that everyone around us was helped except us. I'm not one of those people that like our servers coming around every three minutes to see how things are, but I do like them to help us when help is needed. And it just wasn't there. I will give this place the benefit of the doubt and assume this is some of the inconsistent service Rob J. was talking about. I remember really liking this place when I tried it years ago but unfortunately the food we got this time did not meet expectations. I tried the following: * PEACH CAFE BENEDICT: Our hickory-maple waffle, smoked ham, 2 eggs & Mornay cheese sauce -- This was a brunch special and I learned yet again that the classic Eggs Benedict should not be messed with. The waffle was decent but I did not like the cheese sauce that it came with. I have a very meh memory of this dish. * BOURBON SWEET POTATOES: Sweet potatoes cooked up with sugar, butter and a pour of bourbon -- The description sounded good but sadly the execution was not. First off, why are there nuts on top?! Luckily they were just a topping so my friend scooped up the top part and took it for herself (since I have a nut allergy). But I ended up not wanting any of my dish after taking a bite. It was a tasteless mash; my friend (who ordered the same thing) was even tempted to send it back. * SCALLOPED POTATOES: Thin sliced russet potatoes with cream, spices, nutmeg and cheese -- My friend ordered this after tasting the disappointment that was the bourbon sweet potatoes. This is definitely much better; get this if you want a potato side instead of the sweet potatoes. Apart from the disappointing food the cafe is great. Since it's in Monrovia there is plenty of free street parking. There was a bit of a wait since this is a popular Sunday brunch spot, but that was to be expected. I ALWAYS have a hard time choosing either sweet or savory dishes during brunches, but you can have the best of both worlds here! Mind you, that means you are getting a lot of food for your money, an omelette AND 2 pancakes... but WHO CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT?! :] The one qualm I have about this lovely little place is the service. The manager was really nice, but the other waitresses.... I couldn't tell if they were doing it on purpose or not, but they were EXTREMELY slow and do not have the capability to smile. They are cordial and everything, but are cold as salami from the moment they take down your order in the most unenthusiastic, almost condescending way, to when they bring out your food. Our pesto omelette was DELICIOUS and the corn bread was the best I've ever had! Crispy around the edges! The entire little place is just SO ADORABLE, decorated in the most pleasant way! I would love to come here every morning and just chill and read the paper here! After we were done eating, I asked for my check and our waitress took FOREVER to bring it out. She made 3 lattes, worked the cash register... and then did NOT bring out the check. The manager actually had to come by our table to bring out our check and take-out boxes. Four servers asked us if we needed drinks, but the drinks still took 25 minutes to arrive at the table. Batter used is very heavy making the rings taste not like onion rings. Chicken: Was expecting Fried Chicken... received 3 chicken tenders in a very heavy batter. More batter than chicken. Was looking for some brunch and came across Peach Cafe. It was pretty hot inside on a 98 degree weather kind of day. They had fans going, but they definitely needed air conditioning, even the ice in our waters were melting away really quickly and our waters getting pretty warm. Service was kind but it did take awhile until we got our dishes. I opted to make my own omelette and had the mushroom, chicken and goat cheese omelette with breakfast potatoes and whole grain toast. I really enjoyed my omelette, all the ingredients were really fresh and tasty. I wasn't a fan of the breakfast potatoes so much, they were a bit bland. The toast was good, not your typical sandwich sized piece of bread but a thick slab. I enjoyed my meal, but I just wish it wasn't so hot in there and that it didn't take so long to get our food. read more

Seriously, I was writing a review with 5 stars but ended up finding uncooked chicken in my Greek chicken salad and the management was at first not attentive to the situation. I had already eaten a good amount of the dish when I realized the raw meat, I was sick to my stomach. Eventually, the manager gave me a PARTIAL refund (I had ordered a coffee with my meal)... I think that they should have honored a full refund for my meal and at least apologize! I really liked this restaurant at first but now seeing how they handle situations such as this one makes me a disappointed customer. We went to the Peach Cafe today for breakfast and had to wait 40 minutes, and it is their fault! Evidently it has new owner and the food, which before was very good, is now excellent. The flavors, and creativity we experienced were Food Channel level. Our server was very attentive and personable. Prices were very reasonable for our dish. What an amazing little breakfast spot! We had a large group for Sunday brunch. I was hesitant to even try, as they don't take reservations. But we figured we'd give it a shot. The hostess was friendly when we checked in. Told us that since we had such a large party, it would be an hour to an hour and a half wait. We expected a wait so we agreed. Got lucky and were seated in 40 minutes. The staff brought out an extra umbrella, extra chairs and a table to their expanded outdoor seating. They went out of their way to accommodate our large party within their limited space. The server was super friendly and accommodating to our many questions and requests regarding the menu. He got every single order correct. The food was delicious! Lattes were equally tasty! We were even offered water and coffee to go. Overall one of the best brunch experiences I've had in a long time. Slightly overpriced? Ummmm try F-in expensive. Ordered the Peach Omelet with a Latte for breakfast this morning. Total $17.83. Ridiculous, right? I have no one to blame but myself. I was being super lazy. I should have moved to Jake's as recommended by the GF but I had flip flops on and the rain was pouring. Weak sauce!!! Peach Cafe wasn't all that bad. The restaurant had a good feel. Very cozy and the service was welcoming. The redhead lady that greeted me was uber nice. Nice decor and the patio area is a great option when it's too crowded inside. Seems as if a lot of the locals come here. I noticed most of the staff familiar with the patrons. Seriously the food was alright. Nothing significant and eye poppin'. Omelet a 3. Latte was also a 3. Mine fell into the last category, but it's a minor complaint. The passion fruit iced tea has some real flavor to it, and it's so good that you don't even need sweetner. Peach Cafe has a nice mix of indoor/outdoor seating, but heaven only knows how the servers go up/down *6 stairs* with trays and plates full of food. 3.5 for the food but rounded up because of some magic they pulled on the bill... These days I love coming to Old Town Monrovia for a leisurely bite to eat. It's a sleepy, rather quiet place, and parking is hardly ever a concern. There seems to be a growing number of cute little restaurants and cafes, and Cafe Peach is one. The decor is quaint and artsy, with interesting pieces on the walls. I wouldn't say that service is exactly friendly, but that could have been because it was taking us so long to decide what to order. And with so many intriguing selections on the menu, it really was hard to choose. Since there were so many of us, we each got different sides and tried bits of each others' plates. Sausage and Eggs: I chose probably the most simplistic item on the menu...and was a little disappointed. It was a smattering of scrambled eggs and one lone sausage, charred and split lengthwise. I could have made this myself...and I don't even cook. If it weren't for the half order of pancakes that came with this, the dish would not have been worth it. And at $10.50, it really wasn't. Cafe Blueberry Cakes: This made me feel just a little better about my order. Two pretty, good-sized pancakes topped with a dusting of powdered sugar and some fruit. These were thick and chewy, which I actually liked. On first bite the pancake was tasty, but after eating a little more, I noticed this slightly disturbing chemical flavor. Was it baking powder? Yech. Cornbread Melt: This seemed so intriguing on the menu, so I couldn't resist a taste of my friend's. The overall flavor was fairly good, with the cornbread being the key player. The bread was a little dry though. Vegetable Quesadilla: Fresh and tasty but needed a little something to punch up the flavor. Maybe some hot sauce? Bourbon Sweet Potatoes: I tried some of my friend's side...and kept trying and trying and trying. Was it the sweetness from the bourbon...or just the alcohol? Like everyone says, this was quite good but probably not the healthiest thing. Scalloped Potatoes: Creamy. I enjoyed them, but everyone else said they were kind of tasteless. Breakfast Potatoes: These were nice and flavorful. I was feeling a little cheated from my dish...but that disappeared once the bill came out. Either they had some crazy spider-sense or we just got lucky, but apparently for parties of five or more, they drop the lowest priced item from the menu. So that meant my meal was free, which was AWESOME. So the food is sort of hit or miss and the prices are a little steep, but there are so many other items on the menu that I'll definitely be back. read more

What a great little find. Never knew it was there, small little place just off the main drag in Monrovia and I bet they like it that way. Weekends appears to get crowded, but trust me worth the wait. Staff is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME and while we were waiting about 35-40 mins they checked on us repeatedly to make sure we didn't want something while we were waiting and apologizing for the wait. Wow. Stat down and really stuggled with deciding on what to eat, it all looked so great and the smell inside was just inviting. Great little atmosphere whether you eat inside our outside on the little patio area. We decided on breakfast and it did not disappoint. Between us, we ate off the special menu and had the Breakfast Skillet, Breakfast Scramble (with the Habanero Sausage - no where near as spicy as expected so don't be afraid, eat it up) and the pesto omellete with Bourbon sweet potatoes. EVERYTHING was fantabulous, including those Bourbon Sweet Potatoes (and I don't even like sweet potatoes, but they were great). Looking at everything that was brought out on the tables around us, yah, so, we gawked a little so we could plan our attack for our return visit to try the Lunch side of the menu. Everything looked great. Portion sizes were perfect, we walked out feeling fully satisfied but not OMG roll me outa here and into a food coma. Definitely worth the stop, will be back. read more

I love peach cafe. The scalloped potatoes are my favorite thing on the menu. It's always a busy spot so I do tend to go a little later around 2pm to get a spot. I have tried the sandwiches and omelets and they are all great. But do not try this place out and leave without getting the scalloped potatoes. read more

I've been going to the Peach ever since it first opened. I used to live in Duarte, so my family and I would go there all the time. But now we live in Pasadena, so we don't go quite as often. But we still make an effort to go because it's one of the cutest, nicest, warmest places to eat that we know of. The staff - never met nicer people. Even though it has changed over the past few years the high level of service remains the same. I've never really been interested in typical breakfast foods, so I never actually go for the omelette/breakfast sandwich thing. But I do know the waffles are really good, my mom orders either that or the cafe burger every time. I personally love the wraps and the southwestern salad. The wraps come in delicious sundried tomato tortillas. I would get a wrap with a salsa-ranch dipping sauce. Or any of the soup specials, particularly the chili. I recently visited the peach cafe in hopes of finding a new breakfast spot around Monrovia. I regret ever coming here #1 the service wasn't all that great, #2 expensive could have had a way better breakfast at IHOP or Denny's for half the price. My kids ordered chocolate chip pancakes that were raw, and when I complained about it the waitress looked at me like I was strange, the owner/manager did take the pancakes off my bill but not before giving me a lecture about pancakes and how theirs differ from everyone Else's, whatever.. wont be going back read more

Went here as it came highly recommended from KTLA. I will still watch that news station but will never return to this place. Pancakes were doughy. Fries were cold, waffle was ok. I had to ask for coffee even though there were plenty of servers. No one ever asked my bf if he would like a refill. So after we paid over 30 dollars for breakfast we went to Mc Donalds to get 2 sodas and a lrg frie. Will not go back!!! read more
