Peach Cafe is a wondrous restaurant around the corner of Monrovia. Their food are always on point, seasoned well and meeted the standards of your request. The Monti Crystal, a popular item, is always a great choice when ordering. However, I believe they should share the ingredients of the soups of the day. I went there, excitedly to get my tomato bisque, and was presented with a soup that had drizzled pesto sauce. I am allergic to nuts and when I told the waitress, They did not offer me a replacement. Instead, I was forced to get a new one without pesto sauce. For those who also have allergies, make sure to ask for the ingredients. Not only that, The air circulation was poor. Celebrating my birthday weekend and my big sis took me here. It was a bit of a wait, which was totally fine. However, the hostess said that she texted us when our table was ready, yet we didn't receive a text and had to wait longer as it was past the 7 minute mark but luckily she kept us on the list. Peach Cafe is a local favorite so it's always busy on weekends. Luckily my friend and I came on a weekday for a late lunch so we were seated right away. The menu is filled with different comfort food staples that had me debating between a breakfast menu item versus a lunch menu item. I ultimately went with the waitress' recommendation but I definitely regretted that choice. The Crispy Cali Quesadilla (from the lunch menu) was made with pepper jack cheese, roasted peppers, caramelized onions, spinach, avocado, and tomatillo salsa. As appetizing as that may sound, sadly the quesadilla was mediocre at best. Drove a bit to try this brunch spot, as a quick yelp search showed others were wowed by their breakfast options, and I was excited for their non-pork breakfast meat options . We arrived on a Saturday morning about 10 am. They had several tables open outside but the wait host said the wait was 45 minutes plus, so we opted to order the meal to go. There was a bit of a wait to take our to go order and most of the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed - one male server asked me if I had been helped yet, then tapped on the POS system & grabbed his sunglasses & phone and walked out, such an awkward exchange. We ordered: the Build your own omelet with chicken, peppers, and cheddar cheese w/ a side of breakfast potatoes, sautéed spinach on the side (extra) and half stack (2) of buttermilk pancakes w/ strawberries. Eager to indulge in the meal, I arrived 5 minutes early of the 45 minute preparation time... and the waitress loudly & sternly belted out "you were told your meal will be ready at 11." I slinked out the restaurant as if I had been scolded by an angry stranger, not a fun feeling. There were several diners who arrived after my to go order who were finished with their meals when I walked back in at 11 on the dot and alas my food wasn't ready, oh the shocker. It ended up being another ten minutes. When I grabbed the food, I was asked if I wanted butter and syrup... of course I would like them for the pancakes . Overall I was left with the vibes as if they were doing me a favor, not a fun feeling as a first time diner, even for take out. On to the meal: the buttermilk pancakes were fluffy and delightful but wish it was served with hot syrup and not the packaged cold syrup, I've been to other restaurants who serve hot syrup with to go orders. The cold packaged syrup on the hot pancakes takes away from the flavor profile. The build your omelet however was great in portion size, tasty, the cheddar wasn't overwhelming, the chicken portions were ample and the omelet was delicious. As a frequent brunch connoisseur all over the world I would consider returning in the future if the service didn't leave me feeling like a burden instead of an eager diner excited for a great Saturday brunch experience. read more

I've been here twice and I'm still not 100% amazed by everything, waited 30 minutes for brunch on a weekday, they didn't have an actual drink menu but I got the mimosa flight and that wasn't as chilled as I would like.... Pricing is definitely fair and reasonable and food comes out hot and fresh. I've been here a couple times and always wanting to come back with friends to introduce them to this whole in the wall! One from laguna hills, one from San Francisco and me and my babies from Sherman oaks. Arrived a little earlier than everyone so walked around the block to the Liberty Park. Comes with eggs and a choice of fruit / (I forgot the other). 2. Kids French toast - kids didn't love this one as much but it was pretty good! Not too sweet and also came with some strawberries and eggs. No sides for this one. 3. Breakfast burrito w/ chorizo for me! Came with a side so opted for French fries as usual. Delicious and so filling! Came nice and hot so was hard to eat for me at first but totally worth it. Our server was the sweetest! Came by for lunch with a friend on Wednesday! I was surprised to see the restaurant completely full but the wait for a table wasn't too long. They also have plenty of street parking and public parking, which was a huge plus in Old Town Monrovia! My friend ordered the Monte Cristo with a side of scalloped potatoes and I ordered a half stack of blueberry pancakes and a side of breakfast potatoes and a hot mocha latte. I have to say the blueberry pancakes are probably the best pancakes I have ever eaten. Hot, fluffy, I didn't even realized I was done eating it until I looked down, and all I saw was an empty plate! I had the Nuts & Bolts. Scrambled eggs, bacon potatoes with scallions and rustic sourdough bread. The eggs were delicious. The bacon was slightly undercooked. Potatoes were deep fried instead of pan or grilled on a flattop. They were overcooked hard and crunchy. The servers were nice but inattentive. Don't sit outside they forget about you. I had to go inside and tell them we were ready to order. We received our food with no utensils. I ask the person bussing the tables for butter for my bread. The sourdough bread was very good. Everything was delicious! I ordered the Monte Cristo with the au gratin style potatoes which were amazing. The coffee was perfect too. I went after the brunch crowd around lunch time and it was a perfect time to go. I have been dining at this restaurant for over ten years. Since I retired I come even more three to four times out of the week. However, the owner, Chris is an asshole as far as I am concerned. He is very petty with making alterations to the food. The owners need to realize that people have health issues and can't eat certain things. When my family makes orders and we ask for alterations due you our health he makes it a big deal. Their food is good but not that good to be treated like we are being treated. I spend a lot of money here, but no longer. Today, Jeffrey, the dishwasher was sent out to tell us about the food alternatives y Chtisv, Which is beyond unprofessional. The owner came to us a few weeks ago and asked us to be mindful of the food menu. So this is the second time he has been disrespectful to us. All the staff was talking about us which was not cool either. But it's ok. If the owner does not like his menu altered he should put it on the menu. I thought this matter was solved but I see today it was not. Chris never came to the table to talk to us which was unbelievably rude and disrespectful to us. The atmosphere sucks because of the way we were treated. Chris needs to get so big man pants and learn how to deal with black customers and people. Chris has never said hi or thank you for coming to his resturant all the years I have been coming. Thank God his wife is nice she makes up for his dysfunction.. Well, that was diappointing. This cafe came recommended, so my husband and I came by for breakfast. I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs, "over-medium" which came with sourdough toast. I also ordered coffee. My husband ordered the peach omelette which is like a denver omelette with ham, onions, and bell pepper. He said it was good. When my coffee arrived, it was hot but bitter to the point where I coudn't drink it. I ordered hot chocolate instead, and it was good. Now, onto the food. The corned beef has was not good. When I took a bite, I tasted onions. Way too strong on the onions. The hash was topped with the eggs, what I though was "over medium" eggs like I ordered, but when I broke the yolk, not only did the yellow run all over, but I noticed that the white part of the egg was also not cooked (yuck). I scooted the eggs to the side, and finised my very onion-y corned beef hash, along with the sourdough toast, which was good. At no time during our breakfast did anyone come by the table to ask us how the food was. If they had, I would have told them my eggs were not cooked to my liking. Instead, they came by with the check, at the end of the meal. When she did, I told her that my eggs were runny and not cooked over medium, and she just said "sorry" but did not offer me anything for my disappointment. On another note, I noticed a couple was sat just after we came in, and after waiting a while, got up and walked out. It appeared they were being ignored for too long. Cannot recommend. The wife really wanted to try it so I indulged thinking I wouldn't each much but maybe like pancakes or potatoes. So we went and they actually had a lunch menu with sandwiches and a few other options. I got the chicken club with pesto and scalloped potatoes. It was very good. Wife got the Nuts + Bolts and a side of pancake. She shared some pancake, sausage and bacon with me and it was also good. It was all good. Been back twice. I actually tried to go back a few more times but they didn't take us or anyone else cause they were filled and they close at 3pm. This happened twice, once on a weekday and once on a weekend, so go before 1pm is my recommendation. This place is typically packed. read more

They made me aware of possible cross contamination with their frier so that is good to keep in mind if you have an allergy. Our server was super sweet and attentive even though they were busy. After a 2 hour hike, we really were ready for brunch/lunch, which was not hard to find on Yelp. I wanted more of a diner vibe or a ma & pa shop. We were happy to head over, since they closed at 3:00 and it was 2:00 PM. Everyone was so welcoming and I didn't feel rushed. I've been coming to this place for a couple years now, I've moved out of state 5 years now but I always manage to come in when im visiting. My experience today was bad I ordered nuts and bolts and when I got my Food the sausage and egg were drenched in oil, I kindly asked for a remake and they manage to put the same food back on the grill and bring me out the same food, my egg was over hard at that point and sausage was hard to eat as it was cooked a second time. The manager on duty who we did not get a name but has tattoos in the back on her legs was extremely rude, she never came out to talk to us to try to make things right, yes they took the plate off the check but still was charged for the pancakes which essentially the pancakes end up being like I paid for the meal. I ate the pancakes only because I kept waiting for my eggs and sausage . I'm extremely disappointed and let down by the way this situation was handled, the manager is horrible and shouldn't be in the restaurant business if she's going to have bad attitude and not come out and talk to customer when something is done wrong. read more

The chicken pesto salad and life rice are one of my favorites. Today I got the mimosa flight (Guava the best one!) and a monte cristo sandwich, it was a little too sweet and savory, it needed something to balance the sandwich. The croissant and meat within the sandwich where great quality and I was pleased with that! The interior is super cool and trendy more of a industrial redone feel with exposed brick and beams. The only downside to this place is how busy it is, plan on spending 30-60 mins waiting for a table. You can walk around the downtown to kill some time or gamble with the idea of coming at 2pm during the week, an hour before closing, because on occasion they aren't crazy busy at that time. read more

The place reminds me of a cafe you might find the mountains or small town vibe. They have a decent menu with your favorite brunch items (waffles, pancakes) and with some additional items such as paninis and wraps. One of the reasons I rated it three stars is the wait time. There were plenty of tables available but customers were still told over an hour wait. This may be lack of waiters available.
