    Monte Cristo
    Mark L.

My wife and I decided to have breakfast here this morning. She said she had been plenty of times and had really enjoyed herself, so I thought let's give it a shot. Pleasantly surprised to see a Monte Cristo on the menu. I ordered it with crispy scallop potatoes. The meats were stacked high. The croissant dipped in French toast batter was delicious. I also ordered a vanilla mocha coffee. That too was delicious. Overall, a wonderful experience with great service. If the opportunity arises, I would visit again. Thanks to all the staff.

I was recommended this spot by some friends. I came by after a hike in sierra madre. There is a lot next to the cafe & street parking as well. There is indoor & outdoor seating which is nice. There are breakfast& lunch options. SCALLOPED POTATOES! I was astonished to see them on the menu as a brekky side & of course I ordered them with eggs & chorizo. The plate was a 8/10. Hot vanilla latte was a 10/10 , nice & foamy. Restrooms were clean. Staff were friendly & open to questions. Overall , a nice spot to catch up with friends or family. Also, it's by downtown Monrovia so you can take a stroll after your lunch.

Been coming here for years & love that it's always been the same! Service is always great, super friendly staff every time. Our favorites are the huevos rancheros w/chorizo & the Monte cristo! You can never go wrong with those options, both are delicious! Not pictured is the guava and watermelon mimosas we got as well. They have a variety of different flavored mimosas! They have both inside & outside seating areas. A big plus is they are dog friendly! The one thing I will say is I wish they had music playing or something outside, that would make it even better.

This was a cute little spot in downtown Monrovia. The café had a cozy atmosphere and there were quite a few people inside, which is always a good sign. Parking was easy since there were a good amount of spots right outside. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick. I ordered a chai tea latte and a turkey avocado sandwich on a croissant with fries. The sandwich was fresh and flavorful, and the croissant was soft and buttery. My chai latte was really good too. Overall, I really liked this spot. It felt like a relaxed place to grab a good sandwich and drink. I would definitely come back.

Had a great experience at Peach Café in Monrovia! The atmosphere was really nice, and eating outside was especially enjoyable with the beautiful weather. The outdoor seating made the whole experience feel relaxed and comfortable and added to the overall charm of the café. The food was yummy, delicious, and very fresh. The omelet was fluffy and perfectly cooked, filled with fresh ingredients that made it really flavorful and satisfying. The tuna sandwich was excellent, light, fresh, and well-seasoned, served on great bread that complemented the tuna nicely. The salad was crisp and refreshing with fresh greens and a well-balanced dressing that tied everything together. Overall, it was a great spot to enjoy a relaxing meal with quality food and a pleasant atmosphere. I'd definitely come back again and highly recommend it if you're in the area!

Been coming here for a few times and the food doesn't disappoint. If you want a tasty casual brunch spot, this is the place. Coming in around the afternoon, we were able to get a table. We had a friendly waitress that was on point with our bottomless mimosas that she quickly refilled our drinks. I had the build your own eggs/omelette combo where you can choose your side and bread. I opted for the mushroom, spinach and Swiss cheese with a side of Breakfast Potatoes. Yummy omelette that is nicely fluffed but nothing too special. Good portion of spinach and mushrooms and the breakfast potatoes are nice and crispy. The sourdough bread I choose is good and not stale. 8/10 My bf got the House Chorizo and Eggs Combo. The chorizo with the pepper jack cheese is really good with his choice of tortilla bread. The scallloped potato (choice of breakfast side ) isn't crispy so it was a bit of a depressing. Altogether, it's not too bad of a breakfast dish. 7/10 Do come a little early on a weekend for brunch as it can be hard to get a seat. There's nearby parking so it's not that hard to find parking.

Peach Cafe is still going strong as one of our go-to brunch spots in Old Town! I love their lattes and most breakfast items - I've also tried several of their salads since my last review and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. Their salads are chopped nicely with great flavors and perfect amounts of dressing already mixed in - they come with a choice of bread and I always love to get their cornbread. On my last visit I sampled some of the hubby's chicken pesto salad - very skeptically bc I have never been a fan of pesto - but it was fantastic and is what I'll be ordering next time we stop by! I also tried their Peach Omelet with ham, peppers, and so much pepper jack cheese to produce a fantastic melty cheese pull - it was delicious! As my side I did try and give their scalloped potatoes another try and my verdict on those is still the same unfortunately - they have a nice texture but are so bland that I had to add a bunch of salt and pepper so I likely won't get these again until it's been long enough for the amnesia to set in and I think of giving them yet another chance lol. They still offer their popular mimosa flights with lots of unique flavors like guava and mango. But their coffee is some of my fave in the area - all of their lattes have been great and I especially love their con panna! Vibes are cozy. Staff are always lovely and so warm and welcoming. Prices are decent for the area and portions are generous. Lines get long on the weekends and it's usually pretty busy even on weekdays so plan ahead.

It's been a minute since I've visited Peach Cafe, and had a pleasant visit over a holiday weekend. The restaurant itself isn't super large, but there is both outside and inside seating- which makes a perfect opportunity for enjoying the sunshine during a nice breakfast/brunch. Arriving around 9:15am on a holiday, we waited approximately 10-15 minutes for a table of three (after originally being told 30 minutes- always under promise and over deliver- so nice win!). I did enjoy the options on their coffee menu- specifically the red eye with the mixed coffee and espresso made the perfect balance of caffeine. The menu itself isn't anything too spectacular - in fact I wish there were a couple of more "specialty" options that were unique or offered a spin on classic breakfast options. The food was great, especially the seasoned potatoes- but I did feel like overall it was missing an extra pizazz. I'd definitely visit again- but would love to see a twist in the menu to compete on the brunch roster.

People come here early and they're serious about being here first. Food is flavorful and creative. They know what they're doing in terms of running a great restaurant. Service is attentive and kind. Decor is cozy and seating seems a bit intimate. I've left my umbrella behind and they were kind enough to hold onto it till I was able to get it. Thanks to Jennifer and her staff!

Visitation Rights: Patronize the shop a handful of times. Restroom: Restroom is available to use. Credit Cards: They're accepted also. Location/Parking: Located in downtown Monrovia. Parking can be found along Colorado Blvd. or in nearby public parking lots. Ambiance/Decor: Chill vibes with modern furnishingss Service: Service has been consistent. Staffers that I've encountered were attentive, friendly, and engaging. Food Of Choice: I usually get either the huevos rancheros or chillaquiles. Quite delicious and quite delightful to eat. Ask for some salsa and/or some tabasco sauce to level up your eating experience. Peach For Thought: Wouldn't mind coming back to get my chilaquiles/huevos rancheros fix.

I'm not too familiar with this area, but I wouldn't hesitate coming back here to The Peach Cafe. The staff is very friendly! The setting is very peaceful. There was a crowd on the day we went but it wasn't too crowded to where it interfered with our conversation. Annie D was courteous, friendly and prompt with our order and our drinks. And the food, Grilled Chicken Club, was tasty. The onion rings were very tasty, not bland like a lot of restaurants. This is definitely a place I look forward to coming back to.

A solid place to get food in Old Town Monrovia. I got the Life Rice, which was a bit bland but improved with the salsa they gave on the side. No wait on a Friday at 1:30 pm. Service was amazing and they gave us some free Halloween candy! Free parking in the adjacent lots and all around the side streets, some with 3 hr vs 8 hr time limits.

Food was fresh hot and amazing. We had a breakfast sandwich with ham and bacon that was outstanding! The scalloped hash browns were so delicious! The service was on point and the whole establishment was so welcoming! Our server was very attentive and a true professional. Plenty of seating in side and out which we liked and you four legged fur babies are welcome which we liked even though we don't have one. We can't wait to go back! Don't forget to try their amazing coffee drinks, we had a blended mocha and caramel latte that were amazing! Great Job Peach Cafe! You are a top notch establishment!

    How is parking there?

Parking available on street, or lot nearby

Are dogs allowed in the patio?

Yes! They allow them on the patio.

Does the peach cafe take reservations?

    No.

Would this be a nice place for a group of elderly women ages 60-80?

A ladies brunch!! I think so! The place is small inside so I would maybe call ahead to make sure they have the table for your party.

Is dog allow to sit inside the restaurant?

Only if It's a service animal

Any gluten and dairy free meal option?

    Yes

Would you have space to accommodate a party of 15? (Not asking for a reservation, just if there's space)

When I was there, I saw a big party, so I am thinking yes

Do they still do bottomless on the weekends?

    Yea they do!

    What are the vegan options?

The got vegan options like their waffles. However it's very limited.

Is the line long during week days?

Depending on the time in the morning, we've experienced a hour long wait. However, you can go through Yelp and make a reservation. For the record, their sour dough bread is amazing!

What time is breakfast served until? Or is it served all day?

I believe they have an all day breakfast menu!

Do they still have bottomless mimosas?

You know, I wanted to order this but it was not on their set menu :( ask the waiter when you go next time....maybe he/she will put a special order for you

    Does Peach Cafe take reservations?

They do not take reservations. I just called and was told that it is first come first serve

Do they have dine in seating?

Not with the COVID going on. But they have outdoor tables set up!

Are they open during the pandemic? If so, what hours? I called and there's no update.

They are open for takeout. They always closed at 2 pm and I think it's the same now.

Why is the bottomless mimosas not listed on the menu or website? What time does it start? Is there a time limit? Any flavors of juices beside orange?

The adult beverages are on the website under the lunch menu. They serve bottomless mimosas everyday until they close up at 3 pm...no time limit. You can do a tasting flight for an additional cost and pick four different flavors. I prefer the peach…

    Does peach take reservations?

You can call ahead an be put on their wait list, but it's not really a reservation since they mix you in once you arrive. It's still better than coming in cold.

    How much are bottomless mimosas?

$13 (glasses are small so hopefully you get a server that's on it when it comes to refills)

I have party of 12 for Sunday 10 am do u take reservations?

I don't personally take reservations since I'm not owner or employed by the restaurant 😉 However I did see they reserved a set of tables to sit, I think, eight guest. So,…

We sat at a table by the front window facing the main drag. The area definitely has an old town feel with many restaurants and shops up and down the street. There is also a park right across the street. There is plenty of parking around the corner on the street and in a nearby lot. I started out with the Coughlin's Law cocktail (Aviation gin, house infused vanilla syrup, fresh lemon, egg white, lavender bitters, $16). It was a good light drink with light vanilla and lemon flavor. I always love a good foam top too. She started out with a Basil Paloma (Herradura silver tequila, muddled basil & grapefruit, fresh grapefruit juice, lime, simple syrup, seltzer, $15). It had good grapefruit and basil flavor, and was nicely balanced. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower appetizer ($14). The cauliflower was supposed to be grilled, but it seemed almost raw. The buffalo sauce definitely had a good kick. For my entrée, I had the Black Angus Basin Burger (manchego cheese, carmelized onions, arugula, special sauce, brioche bun, $19). The burger was excellent. The cheese, carmelized onions, and arugula was a great flavor combo. The fries were good, but I'd order them more crispy next time. She had the two taco plate with fish and potato tacos ($15). The taco shells were freshly fried, and it was a filling plate that she enjoyed. We had one more round of drinks and I had the Billionaire cocktail (Old Forrester 100 proof bourbon, lemon, house made grenadine, absinthe, $16). This was excellent. It was very balanced, and not boozy at all with a very light sweetness. Her second was the Smoke and Fire (Peloton de la Muerte mezcal, Ancho Reyes liqueur, muddled jalapeno & orange, fresh lime, agave, chili salt, $15). It was pretty well balanced with a medium smokiness. It definitely had a kick of heat on the finish. Our server Lakyn was friendly and provided good service. The menu prices are cash prices. There is an extra 3.5% surcharge if you pay with a credit card. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was mostly a miss, but everything else was very good so I'm rounding up to five stars. The flavor was good although the meat was quite chewy and hard. The chips and dips were good and the veggies and sauce on the tacos were great as well! I believe if I have chosen another protein, I would have enjoyed the tacos more. My friend ordered a salad and she really enjoyed her meal. I would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area :)

I tried the western burger, the Swiss burger, chicken and waffles, onion rings, and fries. The chicken and waffles is almost too much to eat in 1 sitting. They also don't drown it in syrup. They drizzle just enough to flavor it but not drown it and make the waffle soggy. Service was exceptionally friendly and generally attentive, though it was a bit of a drag getting my bill settled as the lone server kept getting distracted by other tables and customers. Well, I got the State burger with no pickles and no thousand island sauce. I added bacon for $2.00 and swapped out the potato chips for fries for $1.50. It's happy hour all day until dinner, so the burger was discounted from $16 to $12, which is a good deal. The burger tasted great. The fries were good. The freshness of the lettuce and tomato on the burger actually stood out. I never realized how often you get slightly wilting lettuce at other places until I bit into this super fresh, crisp lettuce. I know that's a weird thing to mention, but it stood out. The only complaint I actually had was the amount of meat used in the burger patty. I think it's very small. They also sell a double smash burger, and I almost felt like this was a smash burger, cause the patty is so thin. It's not, but it's a disappointingly small amount of meat. Still, if you want drinks, it's a lovely looking bar. As I said, service is great. And I will come back for the burger. It's good and cheap, though I would gladly pay five dollars more for more meat. This time the burger was all I tried, but I can recommend. Give it a try for their all afternoon happy hour and the drinks.

It seems the food was prepared in advance and just plated when ordered. The Crab Cake Benedict looked very good. The presentation was flawless. We dug into the poached egg on top of the crab cake. The yolk didn't run as much as we thought and hoped. However, it was good. The Crab Cake was barely warm and didn't have a crispy outside. It really didn't have much flavor at all either. It was quite disappointing. The sauce they used was quite bland and the English muffin that held the crab cakes and the poached egg on top was very chewy and didn't feel freshly toasted. I had expected so much more from this place. We asked for potatoes to be well done and crispy. They did cook it very well but it wasn't crispy at all and it was very salty. I guess the crop cake Benedict and the potatoes kind of balanced each other out, but that shouldn't be the way a dish is prepared. Both items should be tasty in itself. The short rib hash was presented quite well. The poached egg was a bit overdone as well. The short rib meats actually felt like they were actually lean meats on briskets. Flavor was good and the meat was tender. But I expected short ribs and got briskets. The sauce was good with the briskets. The potatoes... I actually expected hash browns but it was breakfast potatoes which was mixed into the sauce and was soggy. Potatoes were very salty and made the sauce salty as well. Overall, this dish was too salty for my taste. It looks like salt is the chef's favorite seasoning and they are very generous with it. We didn't make any comments about the food being too salty as we didn't want the food to go to waste. The bar staff did a good job refilling our coffee and checking to make sure our food was good. I probably won't come back because the food appears to be too salty overall for my taste. The atmosphere seems nice and they had many reserved large parties that were getting together for the Sunday brunch. Once again, make sure you make reservations!

The last time I was there, I had a Farmhouse Beets appetizer - roasted organic beets, lemon-oregano vinaigrette, feta, arugula, candied pecans - which was delicious. For the main course I got the Chipotle Chicken Club - chicken, bacon, avocado, jack cheese, red onion, chipotle aioli on ciabatta - really good and it also came with potato chips (were a bit too oily). For dessert, I had the Yuzu Olive Oil Cake - oh my, it was sooo good, loved it. Berry Lemonade was good but a little too sweet for my taste. Arturo was our server and was attentive and helpful. Overall, a really good experience. I'll definitely come back :)

The ambiance is incredible, high ceiling a large bottle filled library of a bar with shelves from the bottom of the bar to the ceiling. The place is very clean and the servers are extremely kind helpful. Upon walking in Trever, the host, assisted us in finding our seat. There was a happy hour but you have to sit in the middle tall long table or at the bar on upper patio or inside to. Qualify for it from 3-6 We chose the booth and we ordered the mushrooms platter and done noodle salad. My mother got the Mediterranean white fish. The server Julian was really wonderful. I couldn't deceive on hot or cold coffee or cold brew and he brought me a sample of the cold brew with oat milk which I decided would be perfect. The done noodles salad was very flavorful, the ginger on top was a little hard to chew but the plant based vegan chicken was a great cutlet very savory. We will definitely return again.

Overall we enjoyed our meal and experience and would totally come back to try other dishes…read more Food - everything was fresh tasting. Lobster: we enjoyed the Colette special sauce, it was aromatic with the basil, good level of spice, and lobster meat was cooked perfect. Salt and pepper calamari: great crunch, wish it had a little more salt & pepper & garlic seasoning most pieces weren't coated, but the calamari texture had the perfect chew. Crispy vermicelli with beef: loved the crispy noodles and soft beef stir fry textures together, definitely ask for chili oil with this dish, it needs that extra umph of flavor for the noodles. Salted egg yolk pumpkin: I normally love this dish, only wished the outside was crispier, got soggy fast and with how thick these are cut you want the crispy exterior, but flavor was good. Only thing that made me feel a bit "eh" was the chipped plateware they have and continue to use. Service - wonderful! Everyone was so friendly and had nice customer service. They even helped recommend dishes and also share opinions on what we shouldn't order which I loved. Parking - free parking lot! There are a few spaces right in front of the restaurant. But around the side there's more parking as well.
