We loved this brunch spot and definitely will be coming back!! Came on by around noon mid day on weekday but still had about half hour wait. It's not bad since it's in old town Monrovia, drop your name and do a lap, get that text when table is ready, and it'll feel like there was no waiting! I was delighted to see this cafe's menu isn't overwhelming with too many iitem's. The strawberry shortcake (very much like french toasts) topped with toasted oats was the star of our meal. The added oats gave it nice crunch texture with the soft bread that's layered in all the sweet goodness. Monte Cristo sandwich was a delight. Is it a sandwich or a pastry?! I enjoyed taking a bite each time as I crunched in, putting a little raspberry jam before each bite. My lady enjoyed her scramble too. Couldn't get a nice picture because she was way too hungry before the camera ate first lol. But yeah, all three were plated well and delicious. Service is friendly and very good. A neighbor told me about this hidden gem and I decided to try it out with my son. Wow can't believe I've been missing out on this spot which is tucked away down a side street from the main Monrovia strip . Parking is great and the cafe is warm and welcoming. Food is fantastic and I had the best latte ever and I'm a coffee snob. The staff are friendly attentive and efficient. You don't feel rushed and there's a healthy turnover of customers. We went on a Tuesday and I would say the cafe gets very busy at weekends. There is a small outside seating area and inside is open plan with a more modern decor but yet has an old cafe feel with the exposed red brick and gentle lighting. Wanted brunch in the Monrovia area and happened to stumble upon this little gem. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Inside decor is quite a quaint little place that makes you feel like home. Brunch menu is pretty extensive with egg options, French toast, pancakes, sandwiches. They also have bottomless mimosas with item purchase for 17 dollars which is definitely worth it. Peach omelette 4/5: has smoked ham, tomatoes and bell peppers which was good but a little bit under seasoned for my taste. Solid enough omelette to fill up but nothing out of the ordinary. Buttermilk pancakes 4/5: soft, buttery and airy. You can order pancakes or waffles as part of a side dish to any main breakfast item which definitely a nice touch, especially if you want a taste of everything. Scalloped potatoes 5/5: normally don't see scalloped potatoes as a side option in brunch so that was a nice surprise. Made well, flavorful and good texture contrast with the melted cheese. Service 3/5: the person who took our order seemed quite annoyed with us. Not quite sure if it's because we asked for a couple of minutes with menu when she first came to get our order. Stopped by here for a Saturday brunch in the area; arrived and were told it was a 25 minute wait and they would text us when our table was ready. We decided to walk along the shops down the street and they ended up texting us about 10 minutes later that our table was ready, and it would be given away after 7 minutes. I think we arrived about 12 minutes after the text but they sat us right away anyway! We had coffee, and they do not allow outside food and drink so they let us put our coffees in the drink drive by the register. I ordered the breakfast panini and scalloped potatoes, my bf got the shortrib sandwich and onion rings which took about 30 minutes to arrive. The sandwiches were both really good. The short rib was really well seasoned, and the breakfast sandwich was flavorful but not too salty. Onion rings were standard, and the scalloped potatoes as well. We love this place! We haven't been able to go as much as we used to because of work but we definitely try to go on weekends whenever possible. We always check the specials out Friday afternoon on their website, so we know what they're going to be offering on the weekend. The staff here are so amazing, so attentive, and, super friendly. Honestly, we feel like we're at home when we go here. Dana, the manager, or as she's referred to by others as the "old lady with the tattoos on the back of her legs" is amazing. She's very aware of everything going on, checking tables, serving food, etc. It's a small place with outdoor seating, so expect a wait. And it's a popular place. read more

The Peach cafe will make your day and satisfy tastebuds in every way. Well at least it did for me that particular day. I started off with their classic Belgian waffle half order with powdered sugar and strawberries. What was interesting about this waffle was the aftertaste of smoked bacon and with a touch of their maple syrup it was a delight with every bite. Our daughter took us to the Peach Cafe. . What a wonderful neighborhood eatery! It seemed to be a favorite of the locals. Dana was our server but other staff helped out too. I love coming to the peach cafe for brunch! Everything I've had is delicious, and we always come for bottomless mimosas. When ordering a plate for brunch, I would always recommend getting the cornbread and asking to have it griddled! It's so good and a game changer. Overall, this was a real gem in San Gabriel Valley. It's a cute little brunch spot that's in a bit of a literal brick-and-mortar/mini-beerhall/warehouse style place. It isn't very fanciful so I wouldn't go for any view or romantic atmosphere, but it's very homely and perfect for a low-key brunch. The food ranged from fine to great. I was particularly impressed with their house breakfast panini, though their selection of fruits could be slightly improved. Generally speaking, it was quite good and I had very few complaints! One note is that it can be hard to get seats so it'd be good to go early with a smaller group! Ambiance: It doesn't win any awards on romance, view, or fine dining, but it's a cute spot with roughly 15 or so tables with a mix of indoor and outdoor dining. It feels a little like a beerhall or warehouse with brick walls and exposed ventilation with simple tables and seating. The kitchen is exposed, but the smell of food isn't very strong so it's well maintained. Very comfy and low-key. It's perfect for a casual date or a brunch spot with friends, but don't expect any awards in ambiance. Food: I had the house breakfast panini with a side of seasonal fruit that came with the dish and the classic Belgian waffles. Regarding the panini, I really think this panini was very well done. It was a simple panini with scrambled eggs, ham, crispy bacon, lightly melted swiss cheese, thinly sliced tomatoes, and a light spread of pesto sandwiched between toasted ciabatta. Interestingly enough, the most normal and unimpressive parts was the eggs, bacon, and ham. Nothing special there, but simple and well done. The swiss cheese was a great addition that added richness to the panini. But the true genius was the pesto. It paired really well with the classic breakfast eggs, ham, and bacon, but it's really easy to overpower the panini with too much pesto since it's such a pungent and flavorful ingredient. However, the pesto was only spread thinly on one of the ciabatta slices, almost like one would layer butter on toast. If there was only one complaint about the panini it was that the tomato was a little too thin despite a key role it plays. The tomato slices were roughly 1/8in think and there were two slices in each half. I think either an additional slice or slicing the tomatoes ~1/4in would make the panini perfect because the freshness of the tomato cuts through the grease of the pesto, bacon, and cheese. I have no doubt that with that small change (or some other lightly acidic ingredient) I'd be able to eat 3-4 paninis easily. The fruit was fine and you could tell it wasn't boxed/precut. Nothing crazy with the fruit, however, the one thing that was lacking was the strawberries. It's out of season so it unfortunately wasn't particularly tasty on its own. I'd maybe recommend kiwi or mandarins to pair with the pineapple and melon! However, the strawberries paired well with the waffles! It was simple and no frills. The waffle was soft so that it was easy to cut through and still soaked up the syrup easily. There was a light coating of powdered sugar that also added some extra sweetness and the strawberries paired well since it was lightly tart and sour which helped balance out the sweetness. Price: Quite manageable on a budget, but not super cheap either. Expect to spend maybe $20-25 per person. Service: Service was great! Very personable and all staff were really friendly! There was a new waitress that was shadowing. I could tell it was her first day, but we didn't have any issues. Food came pretty quickly too and we weren't waiting for a particularly long time. I'm surprised they gave us water at least, they are that bad. At Peach Cafe, they have a simple menu, not super extensive. I got their build your own omelette that comes with large pancakes. This place fills up quickly so expect a 30-45 minute wait during peak hours. The restaurant offers inside and outdoor seating and neither one disappoints. The restaurant is nicely decorated and is also very clean! For my breakfast I chose the half order of the Belgian waffle with strawberry and it didn't disappoint. They will text message you once they are ready to seat you. I studied the menu ahead of time and knew what I wanted... the Farm Fresh Scramble which consisted of kale, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, avocado and Swiss. It comes with a side and I chose their popular Half Belgian. I was blown away at each individual ingredient in this dish. It tasted like it was picked fresh from the farm.
