Having dined at the Pearl over the years, I have developed my list of favorite dishes (much like everyone else's) and tend to always get the same things. So when coming to island solo and looking to get takeout during COVID, I was thrilled to see that not just one of my favorites was available on the prefixed, but ALL of them! Over the last few months I have ordered takeout from other high end restaurants, and they've all been...okay, so I was a little apprehensive about getting another fancy meal in to-go boxes. However, it's clear how much pride and love they have put into each detail! Every detail was well thought out; from boxing the cracker for the tuna martini separately as to not get soggy to the beautiful labels and bottled cocktails (love the espresso martini!) to a handwritten note from the chef/owner. Ordering was very simple, a week in advance options open up, and you will receive very clear texts when the meal is being prepared and then ready. It was ready exactly at the time I had chosen, and the woman at the front was very efficient and my interaction was very brief, allowing me to get home without needing to rewarm anything. I chose the "surf" menu and from the first bite of lobster rangoons, I couldn't stop smiling, it was just SO good. It's as though this pandemic had made my taste bud lose hope to ever have great food again, but now, this meal was reawakening them, and I was excited for each bite! The Tuna Martini was always a highlight on past visits, and it didn't disappoint (although with no martini glass in the rental, I had to get creative). And the real showstopper, the Wok Fried Lobster. Holy. Moly. Not just a whole lobster, but 2 claws AND 2 gorgeous tails. And the sauce, well I want to drench all my future mediocre takeout meals in it, because it was incredible! The meal hit every note just right, and to finish were two simple chocolate chip cookies, just enough sweet to put the perfect punctuation at the end of a divine meal. As a chef/owner myself and having dealt with new restrictions and challenges during this time, I want to applaud the Pearl for not losing hope and giving us hope with a beautifully executed meal. Hands down the Pearl wins the takeout game! read more

Bbq short ribs were almost pure grissle. Rangoon wonton was good. They did have knob creek smoked maple bourbon which is a rare find in a bar. But the entree was terrible. Would not return here. read more

Wow what a great night! Had a fantastic dinner on the sidewalk in historic Nantucket on a beatific night. The amazing lobster lo mien was the best dish I ate in 3 days on Nantucket. My wife's halibut was so fresh and equally as memorable. The food was matched with incredible hospitality during such a difficult time. Tiffanie confirmed our reservation promptly after requesting a late arrival and Shelia took care of the rest. I wish I could remember our waiters name he was awesome! One of few good restaurants in Nantucket. Need reservation as the place is full all the time. Dreamy cloud sake was interesting but nothing exciting. The only chicken entree is good as long as you eat it with the different sauces. My wife took Buddha delight which she said was nice and spicy. The highlight of the dinner was the desert with butterscotch ice cream. The service and the staff are very professional and friendly. Need to visit at least once to see what all the hype is about. read more

We had an enjoyable evening at the pearl. We were seated and served promptly. Our waiter was efficient. Personally , i dont enjoy when the waiter tells us the specials of the day. I wish restaurants could just print off quick little add ons. I love reading menus and going over all the options and ingredients, not trying to intently listen in a noisy restaurant to a waiter with a thick accent describing so many things, i felt exhausted by the time he was done. Food was excellent, shishito peppers, dumplings, and we split the haddock, which was amazing. They charged us for splitting an entree, which seems really incredibly cheap, which i guess i should be happy, i found something in nantucket that was cheap !!! read more

How do I love thee? Started with the Lost in Translation cocktail. Went down too fast. So good. Hub had the pork which melts in your mouth. Crusted halibut in coconut broth was divine. Decor is as soothing as the inside of a shell. My favorite restaurant on the island which is saying a lot. read more

Wow, I'm really giving a 5 star? Food way above average, but warning, you have to be a foodie. The food is that good. They sat us upstairs in a private room ( 6 of us) Cocktails were very good. Server was very good. Wine was very good. I know this is tiring huh? Appetizer Fluke raw, very small portion, but very good. ($18) Baby grilled octopus ehh looked like tasted lime calamari tenticals to me but pretty good. Broth was awesome. Ponzu like ($15) Broad beans, really good ($10) I think Wok fried lobster ($58) 2 tails lomain noodles bordering great to phenomenal. My wife and her sister split, pretty big portion. Green curry tofu and eggplant stew($29) very good. Tofu like little love pillows of spicy green curry flavor. This is where the chef shined for me. The jasmine rice just barely cut the heat of the curry and the balance was spot on. I like hot and this was hot. So, salute to Pearl. Front of house and kitchen danced a waltz from beginning to end pretty much flawlessly. read more

One of the best meals I've had in a very long while! We took recommendations off yelp/foursquare and I'm glad we did. We started with the 60 Second Steak as an appetizer. It was cooked so perfectly and came on a brioche toast in this amazing sauce. The salad was delicious as well, with a very distinct nutty dressing. We had two mixed drinks, which were nothing special: the passionfruit cosmo (very sweet) and the Minty Fresh (good, but tasted just like coconut water). Our entrees were both phenomenal. The wok lobster everyone recommends is sooo good and comes on top of a delicious pile of lo mein. The lemongrass BBQ beef I had was very memorable--incredibly flavorful, impossible not to finish the whole thing. We also had great wine recommendations to pair with them. For dessert we had something that was banana and chocolate but otherwise forgettable and a dessert drink called "the legend continues" with surprise ingredients-- but which ended up tasting like Makers Mark in a martini glass (blech). Stick to the wine and the food and you can't go wrong. Service was great as well. read more

Transport to another world when you enter this Asian heaven that could easily be in NY or LA. We had edamame to start, then tuna pizza and lettuce rollups, followed by the lobster rangoon and potstickers. Hot and out of this world flavorful, and a complete change of pace from other Nantucket offerings. read more

DISAPPOINTED!!!! So I have to say the food fantastic! However I have received better service at McDonald's. It started off with a waitress who could have been a younger version of Flo from Mel's diner. She could have been smacking gum OR it could just be the overall impression. She started off by taping my dinner companion on the shoulder to get her attention....and things just went downhill from there. I would also like to add that there were about four empty tables around us! We waited forever for "Flo" to take our order, and when we asked a few simple questions regarding the wine list she looked a little scared and ran for the sommelier...who took about 15 min to get there. That would not have been so bad if I had not seen her wandering around earlier. So either "flo" did not find her or she just did not care. The sommelier Jamie was very helpful and friendly when assisting us with our wine choice! It gave us a false sense of hope regarding our service expectations for the rest of our evening. We finally got to place our order about 10 min after Jamie had left. During this time we were not offered the bread that seemed to be standard on others plates. We did however get a bottle of water that the waitress almost hit my friend in the head with while attempting to fill her glass. We finally placed our order and were excited about our meals. My friend ordered the Asian Stir fry dish that she had been craving for the last two years! It was Delicious and worth the wait! I ordered two appetizers for my dinner...but you guessed it...one came out way before the other while my friend had nothing to eat! It was also presented on the table like it was to share. Of course I was going to share...but that was my dinner! The good part was that is was the special of the night , the lobster Rangoon...and was absolutely perfect! On a side note I had asked for a glass of prosecco at the begging of the meal and it came out halfway through. I mentioned this to Jamie when she came around to check on us, as well as my disappointment in the timing of the food. She did take the glass off which was a nice gesture. I just wish she would have given us a new waitress. I assume she told "Flo" b/c she came up and basically said it was my fault on how I ordered. I actually did order correctly, however even if I did not...Isn't the customer always right? Isn't that what I am paying for? I was really looking forward to visiting this place again when I return in September...but only if Flo is off duty! read more

My friends who are locals in Nantucket said, before we walked in, "you are going to get Pearl-ed"! I had no idea what that meant but now that I've experienced it, it is one of my highlights of the trip! We didn't come here for dinner but we came for drinks and impromptu dancing in the dining room area. The bartender (Sam?) super friendly guy, made shots that he hadn't heard of with a smile. The owner, super nice lady took our pictures and gave us champagne, and the locals were really cool. Being at Pearl felt like you could be at a club in SF or a tiny cool bar in Boston. Love this place! You should not miss coming here when you are on island. read more

We came in with a reservation at 6pm. We asked if we could have a certain table that was empty. The hostess said we couldn't sit there because the table was reserved for later. About 2 minutes later, a walk-in party (ie no reservation) came in and was given that same table. I pointed this out to the hostess and she semi-apologized for it (OK words, bad tone) but didn't do anything. I think what really happened was that they didn't want to turn away the walk-in party, so they decided to gamble on the timing... although they didn't say this. I tweeted about this but got no response -- not much point in a business having a Twitter account if it isn't monitored and responded to. The food was fine. read more

I cannot say enough great things about the food, service & ambiance of this restaurant. I celebrated my 25th birthday in the private "pink" room upstairs with 20 of my friends, and everything was amazing. Thier food is mouthwatering, we had our own private waitress who attended to every need, and the room was so cute, perfect for a large group of girls. We were not sure what to expect (honestly, we heard it was good and booked it). The drink menu had lots of options and we settled on "The Ludlow" and the "Passionfruit Cosmo" - both drinks were great! For appetizers, the Sichuan Pork Dumplings and Curry Fried Chicken Steamed Buns were amazing! For main course, we split the Small plate Gnocchi (which I loved bit my wife is not a big Gnocchi fan) and the Lemongrass Cilantro BBQ prime beef - what a dining experience - good food, services by friendly people :) read more

One of my top 3 favorite restaurants on the island. Everything is fresh and delicious. Its hard not to order Nathanlel's 60 second steak as an app every time I go. The best fish dishes and incredible desserts made by NYC chef Sam Mason. The atmosphere is modern, hip and happening with great service and music. read more

The Sushi martini is a must, but try everything , its all good. And the Wok Fried Lobster is awesome. don't for get Panko Crusted Halibut. This place has the best AC , great on hot summer nights. The tropical fish tanks are really cool!! read more

The service was terrific. We ordered the lobster Rangoon and oysters to start and both were excellent. We shared the wok fried lobster which was disappointing to say the least. The claws were good, but the tail meet was tough and almost inedible. Spending $60 for something so poorly prepared was a mistake. This restaurant certainly didn't live up to its reputation. When I complained at the end of the meal I was told oh you should have complained sooner and we would have done something about it. What when your at a table for 4? Make everyone wait while the cook something else for 2. read more

Wow! The food has always been tasty, filling, enjoyable. However..., this time the restaurant disappointed us because the server was far from inspiring nor did she show any interest in her job nor representing her employer in a positive light. Management needs to double their efforts to insure they are being represented properly. No worries, we will go back because the food was good but the server and the serving staff suffered because their gratuity was consistent with their service and lack of interest. read more

We flew in late, had a drink at the Boarding House, but needed some food. Pearl is next door to the BH and owned by the same people. The late night menu starts at 11:00 pm and hit the spot - we had kobe beef sliders (rare with red onion and a red relish) , a sashimi tuna cocktail and dumplings (with too much mayo inside), a vodka martini and a cold beer. The place tries a little too hard to be cool with fish tanks and lots of white decor and staff (friendly and professional) in various uniforms depending on their status. Worth it. read more

Could not have been better. Changed our dining itinerary around for this menu. Came here two nights in a row- some how because its impossible to get reservations here from my understanding. The lobster lomain, lettuce wraps, pot stickers, tomatoe salad, the duck with mushrooms were all unlike anything I have ever tasted before. How can I forget the tuna pizza?! comes in fours-- little squares with rice avocado and lots of delicious tuna. All of the dishes are simple typical asian dishes that are extremely substantial and authentic and feature some unusual twist :) Very pricy but completely worth every penny. read more

I haven't been back to the island in 3 years, but I still can recall my dinner at The Pearl! We didn't have a reservation, which I was worried about during Figawi weekend (a very crowded weekend on the island). The hostess was able to sneak us in and was extremely pleasant. Our waiter was also fantastic. We had the lobster rangoons as well as the Wok fried lobster. Both were absolutely great! Not as good as last time I recall. Lisa of fish tank makes it visually less interesting. Loved the tuna martini, fan of the Filipino shrimp-pork deep fried rolls and the lemongrass beef lovely.
