This was the perfect workout to ruin my body. After 3 months, I left with plantar fasciitis and low back problems which kept me inactive for weeks. But let's start at the beginning: AT $60 for 20 minutes, this is the most expensive workout I ever had. Ever will have. I started it mainly for weight loss. I was fit when I started this program - Yoga, Pilates, Walking, a toning class. I found the workout challenging and had a great coach for 4 weeks. After this, they changed the coach 3 times on me. Each coach paid less and less attention to my health history (I had back surgery and a history of low back problems). I'm suspecting that's why I got my injuries in the end, the exercises on the machines weren't modified accordingly. I eat fairly healthy. I decided not to change my eating habits, as according to their advertisement, you should drop weight just by gaining muscle mass. Kept up all my other physical activities. Although I certainly felt more toned, I didn't loose one pound. In the contract it states you'll get the outrageously expensive training fee back in case you don't see results. Didn't happen to me. This is not worth your money. Don't go there. read more

I joined 5 months ago with a very high level of skepticism that I would enjoy it, or even stick with it -- I have a long history of joining and then ignoring gyms! But this experience really has been different. In part, it's the convenient, efficient schedule. In part, it's the more private setting compared to regular gyms. I started using The Perfect Workout as an alternative to the aerobic-based cardio and pulmonary rehab programs recommended to me by my doctors. (A cardiologist and a pulmonologist). First of all, I could not get an appointment in their groups for one year and, more importa ntly, I have shortness of breath so cardio-base exercise is difficult for me. I am a chiropractor and skeptical about almost anything until it scientifically and clinically proven to me. I went for the first "free visit" at The Perfect Workout and was give a packnet of materials to take home. I studied them well and realized that it made perfect sense and it was something that, given my condition, I could actually accomplish. My personal trainer is Kelsey and she has been fantastic, encouraging me at every step of the way. I have worked with several other trainers as well, from time to time, and they have all been incredibly enthusiastic and helpful. This company exceeded my expectations. I was attracked to the program because they claim 20 minutes twice a week is all you need to get stronger and loose weight. I am currently down 16 pounds and super excited about loosing more. My trainer Jazmine is the best, she pushes me really hard and makes sure I don't give up. This review should have been sent s long time ago but I did not want to make the workers there feel badly. They were very nice. Unfortunately, I was measured every month for the 3 months I was there by different people and the last person who measured my biceps and waist measured lower than the previous. She was newer so I asked her if she was measuring right snd she redid it in the same spot. I was unhappy with my results and was told that is why they have the 100% money back guarantee. I only improved a minor amount and most of it was that over time, I figured how to push or pull correctly to move the weight. I always tried my best but my weight was almost the same and my measurements that I had a personal trainer die were only slightly different than my original measurements. I requested a refund and was denied because I had some minimal change in the circumference of my limbs and had dropped s couple of pounds through diet. I would never recommend them or their corporate management. I joined InShape a few weeks later and easily lost 15 lbs and gained muscle over three months at a 10th of the price. read more

I am writing this review for DeVon, who I think is a great trainer. ( He also runs a separate training program in Jack London Square which is non-slow method). With DeVon, I managed to eliminate my knee and back pain within a few months and felt much more energetic within a few weeks of starting! He very effectively helped me tone major muscles in truly two 20 minute sessions a week. In the Walnut Creek office, I found him to be the most effective trainer. He is a bright, cheerful and positive force in the office, and comes with over a decade of training experience in other fitness styles. The only reason I am giving this workout company 4 instead of 5 is that I disagree with the way the founder of the company markets his program. He states that strength building is not the way to weight loss, which is true. Despite this, his advertising techniques focus primarily on the self-reported weight loss claims of his clients which are posted on his website and walls of the office. Clearly, the draw for most people coming to the program is weight loss. After three months, I did not experience any weight loss at all, and mostly because I didn't change my eating habits. Muscle strength will raise metabolism and overall health and fitness, but do not come here if weight loss is your only goal. Come here if you want to improve your overall state of physical health, stamina, sleeping ability. If you want to lose weight, you have to go through a serious remodeling of your diet. There is no other way. You also will not get your money back. read more

First let me say that I do not consider myself a gym person - not a fan of crowds or the cheerleader-type classes, I would rather take a long walk in nature - but I needed to work on strength training - and have found my experience with The Perfect Workout to be wonderful, and perfect for anyone, any age, any physical ability. I found out about our Perfect Workout from an ad in the local paper. Originally based in Southern California, and lucky for us, locations are opening up around the Bay Area, with new locations being added. There are no big signs on the outside of this office building, and when you enter the space, you are greeted by one of two personal trainers who work one-on-one directly with you for a real strength training workout that takes a half-an-hour of your time, twice a week - or once a week, if you choose that option. You have a set appointment date and time, so no waiting, and at the most, there are two people there using the equipment each with your own trainer, and not only do you feel it, you will see results. I look forward to my twice weekly sessions, and have been going since November 2013. Now I can't imagine not going, as I feel so much better, and stronger, and sleep so much better because of these workouts. My husband tells me he sees the difference, too. read more

I'm in my late 60's & have a very sedentary lifestyle. I hate gyms - & still refuse to go to a regular gym. I started at Perfect Workout in Oct. 2016. Since then, I've lost over 20 pounds & several inches while strengthening & toning my muscles -- in only 20 minutes each visit! With Perfect Workout I feel better, I have more energy & I'm very proud of my weight loss! Jazmine is my primary trainer, and she is awesome! She's patient, but gently pushes me to attain my best. Always encouraging, and never, ever a negative word. All of the trainers I've worked with have been great, and I can't say enough good things. I highly recommend Perfect Workout. It is expensive, but for the minimal amount of time and one-on-one training and focus, it is well worth it. I'm the type that needs a personal trainer to keep me focused & provides a commitment to follow through. If you figure in the cost of having a personal trainer -- Perfect Workout is completely comparable to other places. I have been so impressed by this organization, all its medical research about how slow motion weight training exercise supports excellent health, and its outstanding trainers. I love how they prioritize the QUALITY of the workout over the quantity of hours invested into the workout. I also really respect their solid confidence in this training program and willingness to refund money if a customer is not satisfied. In my initial learning session, I felt completely inspired to sign up for a year of workouts, as opposed to feeling pressured. As a working mom, it's wonderful to know that I have support in maintaining my healthiest self, which I know I can't do alone, given the constant demands and distractions of my job and my family.
