I brought my very anxious dog here for a dental cleaning and multiple extractions, and I was extremely impressed with the level of care. The veterinarians and technicians were patient, compassionate, and flexible, which made me feel completely comfortable leaving my pet in their hands. Not only are their prices very reasonable, but the quality of care is excellent. My dog had 12 teeth extracted and is recovering very well. The team clearly explained why each tooth needed to be removed, gave me the choice in making the final decision, and were fully transparent about costs. The cost of cleaning is $600 including bloodwork. They do recommend brining cash. If you use card, there is a 3% surcharge. The check-in process does take some time so I recommend being prepared to wait between 8:00-9:00 a.m. at drop-off, depending on how many clients are ahead of you. That said, the staff's thoroughness and attention to detail made the wait worthwhile. I also appreciated that they provided before-and-after photos of my dog's teeth, which helped me understand the procedure and see the results firsthand. We love the Pet Advocate and are eternally grateful for what they do. After receiving a quote for nearly 3k from our local vet for my dog's dental that I could not afford, I did some research and found Pet Advocate. I called on 12/16/24 to make an appointment for my dog and my husband's cat for 04/28/25. We didn't mind the wait but I say that just to give others an idea of how long they might need to wait due to how far out they are booked. I paid a $50 deposit for each pet at time of booking. We dropped them off at 8 am on our scheduled day. All of the staff are incredibly kind and knowledgeable. We spoke with the doctor and dental techs, they examined our pets, and ran blood work. I felt so assured after seeing the facility and speaking with the staff that our pets were in good hands. They called us a few hours later to provide a treatment recommendation and explained everything very thoroughly regarding each problem tooth. We agreed with their recommendation and proceeded with 5 extractions for each pet. They were ready for pickup around 2:30-3 pm and the staff made sure to go through aftercare instructions with us. In total my dog's treatment cost just over $1,000 (which includes the exam, X-rays, charting, blood work, cleaning, and 5 extractions of which 2 required gum flaps) and my husband's cat's treatment came out to ~$700 for all of the above minus gum flaps. I brought my 5 year old dashhund to have his teeth cleaned. They were in really bad shape. He had severe tartar buildup and gingivitis. The staff did a phenomenal job with his teeth. What a find! Thank goodness for word of mouth. I had a quote from my vet to spay my dog for $2000.00. She is considered a large dog at about 70 pounds and it's not that I wouldn't do anything for her but that was a hard pill to swallow. My neighbor had informed me of The Pet Advocate so I looked into it and found that not only could I get her spayed for $350, I could get her microchipped for another $30, and I opted to also have her nails trimmed for another small fee. All in all I walked out of there spending little more than $400. At first I was very hesitant because how could the cost differ so much? I felt like maybe I was sacrificing care of my fur baby to save a buck but all I found were positive reviews so I decided to follow through. When I got there the staff was organized, they made sure I knew what I should be doing to check her in, they were friendly to me, and more importantly, they were friendly to my dog. By the time I had to leave her I felt perfectly fine knowing she was in good hands and they were doing their best to make sure she knew it too. In a few short hours, they called me, informed me everything went well and that I could come pick her up. When I picked her up, they helped me get her into my car, gave me care instructions and her pain meds, then made sure I didn't have any questions before I left. Furthermore, they followed up via email. It's now been a full week and my dog has been healing well. No post issues. I found a gem! 10/10, recommend. But the way you spoke to me and cut me off from finishing sentences is unprofessional and rude. Telling me to go get my dog spayed for triple the price before you let me finish explaining that the last vet I talked to didn't even tell me she was 20lbs overweight was, again, unprofessional and rude. I was trying to explain to you what was going on with her so we could come up with a plan to help better my Lola's life. As a doctor, that's what you do. As somebody who also works in a medical field for humans rather than animals, I would NEVER speak to my patients the way this vet spoke to me. Took Phoenix to get neutered and the online scheduling process was easy to use and had many times available. I received email correspondence for the consent so what to expect and directions on how check in and the process will go. Everything was communicated clearly. When I arrived the morning of the procedure, everything was streamlined and exactly what I was told was going to happened. The facility was clean and neat, cold (to deter germs) and smelled sanitized. The staff was personable and organized and methodical and asked all the questions. I took my 14 year old dog in for dental surgery. I was initially very hesitant because of my dogs age and knew she would need many extractions. The staff was really nice and the vet went over all my options. My dog needed 26 extractions and in total I paid $1400 which is really great in my opinion. The first night my dog did have some bleeding, the next day she was a bit tired still but no bleeding and began drinking and eating. Day three she was completely normal and she was actually eating. I am blown away by the compassion and advocacy I experienced with "The Pet Advocate." The backstory is that I had been frantically reaching out to numerous vet clinics and resources in the Bay Area, trying to access emergency services for a feral cat requiring an urgent eye enucleation due to an excruciating injury. The cost of care elsewhere was prohibitive, with upfront payment required and cost estimates ranging from $1800 to $2000, so I was desperate to find care and funding support to help this cat. I had a prior positive experience with "The Pet Advocate" and found it worthwhile to transport a feral cat to them in the past (from my residence in Hayward). Yesterday, I contacted them and spoke with an agent and then the manager, Jill. I explained the urgency of the situation and how the cat was suffering, and within moments, she asked me if I could come in immediately. I was over the moon to have relief on the way. Plus, they offered to include TNR while the cat was under anesthesia for the eye enucleation. I rushed there, and they emergently operated, performing both the eye enucleation and a complicated TNR (due to Cryptorchidism.) They charged less than $500 for all these services combined, which meant he got the care he desperately needed. I cannot tell you how grateful I am to everyone in their practice, from the receptionists to Jill to the Vet and techs who made this surgery possible. They are an excellent team and have profoundly impacted this vulnerable cat. I cannot thank them enough! They make the world a far better place! He is now eating well and no longer suffering. I took my little Yorkie in on April 30, 2025, they told me on phone $450. including blood work, after waiting 6 months I took her in and they sad she had 2 loose teeth in the front & 2 back teeth that needed to be removed, each back tooth I believe was going to b $100.-$150 to remove I believe. About a month later I'm still smelling her breath I called them and she tried to say it was because I declined some treatment I said, "NO," I did not decline anything, I paid for the two back teeth to be removed which looks like they removed four back teeth matching them up to the pictures that they gave me and looking in my little girl's mouth there's four teeth missing back there, I told him why am I going to pay you for the two loose teeth in the front when they'll just fall out on their own? She told me she was not going to allow me to bring my little girl to be examined again she told me to take her to a full veterinarian if that was a damn case I would have taken her to a full veterinarian to begin with! I told her I was going to file complaints with the better Business bureau the FTC, FDC, consumer affairs and attorney general's office she says wait wait a minute wait a minute, she said okay let me go at talk to my manager then she comes back saying oh my manager is not here but I'll leave her a message and she'll call you back within the next 2 days I haven't heard crap from them! I'm going to file all my complaints to get a complete refund since they would not take her back to examine why her breath still smells to pay over $600 and you're going to tell me I can't bring my dog back to see why is her mouth still smell you're full of crap do not take your dogs here your pet's here! I'm a disabled 63-year-old woman on a fixed income you think I got money to after paying you over $600 to go now take her to a full veterinarian you're freaking crazy.
