    Wonton Egg Noodle Soup

I originally wanted to get a pho dish but saw that they had a wonton egg noodle soup that they said was one of their specials, so I decided to get that since you don't really see that option often. Quantity was quite large and reasonable for the size. However, the broth was a bit lackluster and well... it's exactly what it's named: wontons and egg noodles. I'm not sure what I expected but it just didn't have the impact I'd expect it to have. It's not bad, but it wasn't amazing either. Service was decent. Wasn't too busy on a Friday evening. If I come back, I'd like to try one of their phos instead.

4* Food 0* Service 3* Ambiance 3* Value I have dined here several times, but was never moved enough to write a review. The ownership may have changed, because both quality and service have declined, and the pho is 'acceptable'. The reason for my review is a noticeable decline in service. Upon my last visit, we arrived Saturday at 2:25 pm on a exceptionally cold day; as displayed, hours were 11am-3pm. They refused to seat us inside and asked us to sit outside. When we requested, if possible to sit inside because of the weather, the answer was 'it's impossible'. I'm not returning and neither are my friends who live in Los Altos.

Food tastes awful. We ordered chicken Banhmi, brisket phuh and lemon grass rice plate. None of it was good. Tasted awful. I felt like throwing up after I ate the chicken banhmi

Got a large combo pho and I really liked the broth. My partner got the fried wontons and said they're really plain. I'd definitely come back though to try other options

Great food and service. Sat outside on a Wednesday and the weather was perfect. Food came out quick and was super fresh and authentic.

This place is not big inside but it feels like you're in a lodge. In addition, they have outdoor seating available. Regarding the food, I tried their brisket pho. The brisket is very soft and tender and the broth is light and good that I finished it all when I usually don't. The servers were nice and great that they have smiles on their faces when they're serving or approaching the other tables. Sadly, throughout my time there, they didn't check on my table if I need anything or how was everything. I even went up to pay for my bill as no one really checked on my table. Even then, the pho was good so will come back still.

I stopped by during lunch on the weekend two weeks ago while was in the area for the long weekend. I remember was craving for soupy food (it was freezing in Norcal during the first two weeks of January 2026) and I was just wandering downtown Los Altos and not sure what to eat. I put my name down on the wait list they had inside. They were pretty busy with few people waiting. I was on a time crunch so I left. The next day I walked to downtown again after all my errands, and it was still early and checked Pho Cabin again and since it was pretty early, there was nobody so I was the first one. The inside is super cute, they really tried to make it like a cabin in the woods. The menu has a variety of dishes to choose from noodle soup to pan-fried noodle to rice plates. I was surprised it offers quite a selection. I went with Pho combo (everything meat) and was pretty satisfied. It was pretty decent pho for the area, not bad, I would definitely come again when craving for lean healthier option of asian noodle soup! Staff checked on me few times and were super nice!

Thank you to the friendly and attentive staff for so for a delicious lunch! Highly recommend the chicken flavor pho, INCREDIBLE! They have ample outdoor seating with heaters so my pup and I were comfy and enjoyed ourselves.

10/5/2024 The Pho Cabin 200 State St Los Altos, CA 94022 I went there for an early bowl of Pho on a Saturday evening and got seated immediately. It's a cozy street corner location with a clean table and chair setup. We have tried to dine here before but there was always a line to get in and at least a 15 minute wait time. The menu fits on one side of letter size paper and the beef selections featured only lean cuts. I ordered the Brisket Pho which was brought to me promptly. The beef was indeed lean and plentiful. The broth and noodles were good, nothing special. Service was great and I guess it's popular for the lean beef selections with the wait times due to the limited seating. I prefer fattier cuts so I'll repeat if Wifey insists. Free city lot parking is nearby and usually available.

The food was a bit on the pricy side but it was delicious. It's a small restaurant so come before the lunch/dinner crowd.

Tasty pho and pork and rice plate. I would come back again. 5/5 good service. Ambience was great too.

Service was very slow and they didn't even have any Thai basil to go with the pho! They skimp on limes and overall accompaniments to pho.

Slow service. They don't know how to handle a waitlist. I'm a party of four and they keep seating groups of two that arrive after us

I live in the area and have been wanting to try this place for a while, but I finally made it in…read morelast evening--and I'm so glad I did. Los Altos is a quiet, sleepy town, and it's not exactly the first place you'd expect to find a Vietnamese spot, but this place is a gem that I really hope the locals support so it can thrive. * The Service: The service was standout. There was one young man handling both the register and the tables; he was incredibly friendly and had a big smile for everyone. He even gave my son a free smoothie that had been from a misplaced order, which my son absolutely loved. That kind of hospitality goes a long way. * The Food: I always believe you measure a Vietnamese restaurant by its Pho. It's the staple that gives you a window into the rest of the menu. * The Broth: For me, the broth is everything. You could have Wagyu or Kobe beef, but if the broth is bad, the whole bowl falls apart. I'm happy to say the broth here was excellent--flavorful, clean, and tasted fresh. Most importantly for me: it was served piping hot. Anything less than hot can ruin the experience, but they nailed the temperature. * The Meat & Sides: As you can see from the photo, the meat quality is a step above what you usually get. It was tender, textured, and full of flavor. All the sides--the sprouts, basil, and lemon--were noticeably fresh. * Popcorn Chicken: My son ordered this, and to be honest, it was pretty "meh." It seemed like your standard processed frozen bag variety, though it was at least fried to order. * The Price: At $19 for a bowl of Pho, some might call it the "Los Altos tax." However, when you consider that most bowls everywhere else are in the $15+ range now and don't offer this level of beef quality or such a well-crafted broth, the premium feels justified. You're paying for better ingredients. * The Environment: It is a modern, clean, and quiet space. While I love the energy of a bustling Castro Street, sometimes it's nice to have a peaceful place to eat closer to home. Now that I've found this, I don't have to drive far when a Vietnamese food craving hits! * The Bottom Line: Based on how good the Pho was, I'll definitely be back to work my way through the Banh Mi and the rest of the menu. If you're in the area, give this place a chance--it's high-quality, convenient, and deserves to be a local favorite. * Quick update - I came back the next day for a Banh MI sandwich, and when it was rung up - $15! It was quite a surprise, because all over the menu the sandwiches were listed as $9.95. A bad experience, and no banh mi is worth that much! Docking a star.

While having pho at Pho Nam, I considered grabbing a few sandwiches there to bring back to the hotel. I had a hot date with Netflix later and absolutely no intention of going out again. But not far away is Cam Hung, a tiny Vietnamese sandwich shop specializing in bánh mì. It's cheap, and it's in the kind of quiet Sunnyvale strip mall where parking is not an act of war. It shares the plaza with a Chinese herbalist and acupuncturist. On a Sunday afternoon, the place was practically deserted. Perfect. I walked in and immediately realized this was much more than a sandwich counter. The tiny shop is crammed with prepared foods, spring rolls, steamed buns, Vietnamese desserts, dried snacks, candy and all kinds of things I couldn't identify but probably wanted. The main attraction, however, is the bánh mì. These are big sandwiches, and even the most expensive ones top out at around $9. I got a Chinese barbecue pork and a ham and pork roll to take back to the hotel, along with a bag of roasted candied garlic and chile peanuts. I came dangerously close to buying the peanut brittle too, but the sugar would have nailed me. Even I have limits.
