Mixed Berry Pie they claim to make in house. It was good!

2 people...1 appetizer of Buffalo Wings, 1 pint craft beer, 1 Miller Lite & a slice of homemade pie. Total for lunch $36. Tourist prices but we can not complain about the food, service nor seating. The 8 wings were crispy and coated in Franks Hot Sauce & Butter which is my go to at home. We appreciated the nice serving of carrot sticks instead of the usual 3-4 at some places. YOLO!

It was OK, not bad for a tourist town. The salad was adequate but came in a plate so small the food was escaping over the edges. The mushroom burger was good but not the best I have had. It is the end of the season, see you next year.

Shout out to the Pickle Barrel in Silverton. Group of six of us were in town to ski and stumbled in to the Pickle Barrel for dinner on night one. It was awesome. Went back again on night two because the food and the service was great. Much appreciated. Special note: If you need a great real before or after dinner, check out the Shagri La soaking pools next door. Same owners and a great way to end the day after tough skiing.

This is an excellent restaurant in a beautiful town! The staff are so friendly. Surrounded by mountains.

Happy to go to the Pickle Barrel!!

This place Is It!! No average tourist trap, but very conscientious offerings, food prepared with understanding, awareness and heart: aka; Deeelicious! Owned and run by Paul and wife for 25 years. Amazing considering how young they are. Super mindful & caring and their meals prove it! Forget stereotypical and Go for the Food. Healthy, tasty and well-thought-out! Can't wait to go back!! The flies love this place. Had the Reuben sandwich, bread was burnt and no flavor. Arby's makes a better Reuben.

After a wonderful long day at the Black Canyon of The Gunnison we found this place on yelp and the…read morereviews looked pretty good. It turns out it's not far from our hotel. Place looked nice on the outside and hoped we weren't under dressed. But it is pretty casual and even though they were closing in an hour we never felt rushed. Some people came in after even. They have a bar but we didn't order any drinks. It was very nice inside and they had tables and booths. It was quiet as it was a Monday evening. The menu had a good variety and we both ordered the elk burger with different toppings and one with sweet potato fries the other with onion rings. Both cooked to medium and the sweet potato fires and onion rings simply delicious. The coating on onion rings very light which is what we like. We saved room for dessert since we had a long day. A San Juan Mudslide pie and chocolate creme brûlée. Both were really good. Creme brûlée wasn't what I expected just had chocolatey layer on bottom and regular creme brûlée on top. The server was friendly and attentive enough and accidently forgot to charge us the dessert. She was thankful for our honesty. We left super full and satisfied. Will be back if we are ever in the area.

Came back for dinner order we were not ready. Came back again in like a minute, still couldn't decide. Then waited around ten minutes for the waiter to return. I ordered the shrimp Chimayo about $20. It came with about 5 medium size shrimp. (Shrimp were not fresh. Tasted like frozen from a bag). Spaghetti was over cooked sauce was flavorful. My husband ordered chicken Alfredo also about $20. House salad $8.00 fresh and tasty. Waited a while for waiter to return to request check. Over all food was average especially for the prices and service was sub par.

If you're going to operate in a town where you know a lot of your clientele has a two-hour ticking clock before their train leaves, you've got to be on the ball. Seeing how good the cheese board looked, we started with that as an appetizer. We figured it would give us something to munch on while we were waiting for the rest of our food. Not so much. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, and my wife ordered the turkey avocado sandwich. After ordering all our food and waiting a long time, I saw another table get their cheese board at the same time as their entrees. I flagged down our waiter to see if we'd get our appetizer before our entrees. He went to check, and the cheese board came out...at the same time as our sandwiches. What's the deal here? Nobody wants their appetizer as part of their meal. For the record, the cheese board was big, good, and filling. My chicken sandwich was great, and my wife liked her turkey avocado sandwich as well. Fries were better than chips. We just needed things spaced out a bit. Our waiter came back by and said, "Wow! You two must've been hungry, as you ate that really fast." Well buddy, we've got a train to catch!
