    Chicken fried steak breakfast

Housed in an old building in downtown historic Silverton, the Lone Spur offers great food and drinks with an AMAZING view! The food and drinks aren't fancy, but with hearty portions and tasty food, it doesn't need to be! A great place to drop off and enjoy breakfast or lunch on your way to your mountain adventure.

Especially good! The French Onion soup had a rich broth and a more than adequate amount of onions. The Patty melt was one of the best. Thick slices of what seemed to be homemade rye and a thick patty grilled to perfection. Throw on some grilled onions. And not greasy! Yum! Add great service and, to top it off, lunchtime entertainment with an old time piano player. The atmosphere is old west saloon done just right.

Two eggs, hash browns, sourdough toast, bacon steak and coffee.

I spent but one night in the beautiful town of Silverton, and the next morning I had a powerful craving for some coffee, bacon and eggs. My partner and I were waiting outside the front door when they opened and we were waited on right away, then served our food with astonishing speed. PLEASE try the bacon steak. Six ounces of pure smoky heaven! Everything on my plate was just as I wanted it to be and the coffee was a nice breakfast blend too. Friendly staff, beautiful turn-of-the-(last)-century decor everywhere you look... I couldn't have asked for more.

Stopped in for lunch right before they close so it's pretty empty inside.

Apparently all the sandwiches today were served on Texas Toast bread today. I ordered the French Dip sandwich and it's not a sandwich in my opinion that should be presented on anything other than a roll. The waiter Don was very friendly but the manager on duty was extremely rude to us. This is a typical tourist town and the restaurant's always reflect it. Would not return or recommend this place.

Great value! Everything was good. I usually prefer flaky biscuits to country biscuits, but these were great. The amount of food you get for breakfast will carry you well past lunch. The pancakes were as big as your head. Plenty of go fuel to start the day. The waitress seemed overwhelmed as there were so many people and they were short handed, but she was still courteous and as attentive as possible. Good food, good staff, great environment.

Visited twice while staying in durango, both times for breakfast. Neat western feel. Service was terrible both times we visited (this coming from an experienced server) sat in the overflow both times and it felt like our servers forgot about us and we were an afterthought. First day half of our group was locked out ? Servers kept walking past and making eye contact but didn't open the door til we had to go up and say something. That sucked. Waited 50+ minutes for our food the second day, which happens, but when it came out it was ice cold :( if you're going to make a table wait for their food, at least double check that it's hot. The food that was hot was delicious though. Service needs some tweaking and this would be a delicious place to eat.

Lone Spur Cafe is a great place to grab breakfast in the morning and a drink in the afternoon at the bar. My family and I stayed next door at the Hotel just after Labor Day and we grabbed breakfast on Thursday morning before heading to Rockwood for our train Ride. The portions were huge and tasted great!

The food was very tasty. One of the better eggs Benedict I have had and I loves that I could place a half order. I ordered a latte and it was delicious. They didn't make my order correctly but quickly fixed it. The atmosphere is what I would describe and old west eclectic. It was clean, fast, and priced right. My 20 oz large latte was $4.50 which, in my opinion is a good deal. Eggs Benedict with hash browns or country potatoes was $9.99, kids meal with 1 egg, 2 slices of bacon, a biscuit, and a generous serving of hash browns was $6.49. This is definitely a place I would recommend.

The waitress taking down names seemed dazed, related to how to manage. Someone older and more experienced saw us, came over, answered our question about the wait, and immediately sat us. We very much appreciated it. Our waitress was very kind and attentive, checking in on us very often. We ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, the strawberry walnut salad, and the half order of chicken. The salad was fresh and tasted really good. I liked the vinaigrette that was offered. I also really liked the chicken sandwich. It tasted great with the fries after a long day of exploring and hiking. I'd definitely come back. I couldn't believe how many people were seated inside, and it seemed they had everything under control. People were enjoying themselves.

From the moment we sat down, the service was impeccable. Multiple staff members checked on us throughout our meal, kept our drinks topped off, and made sure we had everything we needed. Even with how busy they were, we never felt overlooked. We ordered the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and the bacon cheeseburger with fries. I completely forgot to take pictures of our entrées because they looked so good, and before I knew it, there wasn't a single crumb left on either plate! Everything was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Thankfully, I remembered to snap a picture of dessert before we devoured it!!!! A hot, fresh-baked brownie topped with ice cream that was nothing short of incredible. It was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. The atmosphere is fun and lively, the food is phenomenal, and the service is some of the best we've experienced. This was an outstanding dining experience, and we'll most definitely be back!

Instead of being welcomed, we were immediately interrogated by the woman at the front, then questioned again by the bartender. We were seated and left sitting there for 30 minutes without a single person taking our order or offering service. Our waitress even apologized and admitted she "hates that she can't help us," making it obvious the staff had intentionally decided not to serve us. Throughout the entire time, my service dog was exactly where a service dog should be--quietly lying under the table at my feet, causing absolutely no disruption. After waiting half an hour, I finally asked if we were ever going to be served. That's when we were told the issue was my service dog. When I questioned this, the bartender's response was to tell me I "didn't need an attitude." I've written maybe five Yelp reviews in my life, but this experience deserves to be shared. The way we were treated was humiliating, discriminatory, and completely unacceptable. It felt like we were being singled out simply because I have a disability and rely on a service animal. All six of us got up and left because of how we were treated. Small businesses deserve support when they treat people with respect. This business did the opposite. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone, and I sincerely hope no one else has to experience the kind of discrimination we did.

Everything arrived hot and in a very reasonable amount of time. The potatoes were well-seasoned and full of flavor, and the biscuits tasted fresh and homemade. If you're visiting on the Durango & Silverton train, I recommend heading there promptly upon arrival, as the restaurants in town fill up quickly and long wait times can consume much of your limited time in Silverton. The café serves breakfast and lunch, opening at 7am, stop serving breakfast at 10:40 a.m. and closing at 2:30 p.m. During my visit, I ordered the Frito Pie, a dish featuring chili topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and Frito corn chips. While it was enjoyable, it lacked the level of spice I had expected from a Southwest Colorado specialty. My son ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and described it as decent. For dessert, I was fortunate to get the last slice of apple pie available, although they had already run out of whipped cream. The interior has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, but seating is limited and there is no air conditioning. Since temperatures reached 82°F during our visit, we opted to sit outside. Service was average, but the food arrived quickly, which was appreciated. One of the biggest advantages of dining here was avoiding the long lines that had formed at other restaurants. As we walked back to the train station, we noticed many people still waiting to be seated and served. Overall, this is a good option for train passengers looking for a convenient meal in Silverton, especially if you arrive early enough to beat the crowds.
