He looks me in the eyes, he asks about my playing, my strokes and then goes on to suggest the perfect strings to complement my strength and style. He asks if I can wait as he starts to work on my stuff with a smile. I have never seen this nor experienced this before." Cory you are a natural and really, genuinely connect with everyone. I am humbled and absolutely just so very, very grateful for you once again taking the time and talking to me and finding out about my history, feet anatomy and specific needs as I came in on May 14th for 2 pairs of athletic shoes - one for racquetball and the other for everyday wear. Ray Ray was the " abnormal" kid born with six toes on each foot( still got them) with five toes being fused together on the left foot causing just a few issues with walking, running and balancing the first 39 months of my awesome life. This is the first time in my life that someone( ie Cory) really had the patience, the care, the ear and the know how to help me. He brought up three pairs based on my size 12 and a 1/2 extra extra wide feet and the first two were perfect- fit, feel, color, comfort, mobility - everything!!! Cory once again delivered magnificently. 3 weeks later - June 5th, 2021 - Capitol City World Outdoor Racquetball Championship, Herndon, Virginia - won the gold in the Men's 3 Wall A Division Doubles. LOL I knew I'd have a better experience than my daughter recently had Dick's Sporting Goods with low inventory of tennis racquets and nonexistent staff (not even considering their level of knowledge). I visited Topspin yesterday (Saturday) afternoon and met Bill Levin (owner) who was friendly and knowledgeable about tennis racquets. He asked me a few questions about my daughter to estimate the proper grip size. He suggested a few entry level full graphite racquets (prestrung) and told me that if I purchased one (before removing the tags and use) I should take a picture of my daughter's grip on the racquet and send it to his personal mobile phone to review. If it's not the proper size grip I could bring the racquet in and exchange. I purchased the Babolat 2020 Boost A W Prestrung Tennis Racquet in Black, Pink and White color. I took the picture of my daughter gripping the tennis racquet and Bill promptly responded with, "Perfect," so I felt comfortable with the sizing. I'm very happy with the selection, knowledge and friendly service at Topspin.

It's actually hilarious, grabbing the most expensive iron shafts without even asking how I felt about it. After telling him I wanted to stick with steel and could not afford the extra up charge for those shafts even if I wanted them, his demeanor completely changed. We tried a bunch of different shafts and while I was swinging them, I noticed some of the shafts weren't even standard length. Once I mentioned that he said "yea just choke up for me." I only went in there cause it said $50 for the fitting or else I would have went to Pete's. I also came to find out $50 is only if you buy something so make sure to read the fine print. Don't want to spread negative energy so I'm leaving the fitters name out but have to leave this review to keep people from getting swindled. Its a buisness I get it but this was just laughable.

I ended up going home and researching other bike shops. Lo and behold - Bicycle Planet. I called them on the phone and they were able to tell me the inventory they had. They also answered a few questions I had about a kids bikes (this was a present for our son's birthday). I decided to take a little excursion to Syosset to check it out in person. When I got to Bicycle Planet, a guy named Diego helped me. He went over their different options and brands. The orange and blue Specialized I was looking at at the original bike shop was $80 cheaper here. All of their bikes were competitively priced. I picked out the Giant brand bike for my son because red is his favorite color. It is a beautiful and well-made bike. They were able to add on the training wheels for me since our guy is just learning how to ride, but he's getting the hang of it pretty quick. And of course - what bike would be complete without a silver bell? Once I had selected the bike, someone in the tech/assembly department spent a good 20 minutes or so inspecting the bike and ensuring its safety and that everything was in good working order. Diego brought it to my car and helped me get it into the trunk of my car - would definitely love a bike rack in the future especially for when we ride as a family because I think we all want new bikes now! Plus, Diego said that the bike purchase comes with a year of free tune-ups which is pretty sweet. The look on my son's face when we surprised him with this bole was just epic. And the service here at Bicycle Planet is top-notch. If you're looking for a new set of wheels, this is the place to go.

He said they'd look at it and see what they could do, but came up with every legitimate reason why it would have warped. I was getting ready for battle. Steve, the owner, emailed me after inspecting the board and told me that EESG and the manufacturer, Riviera, would stand by the product and give me a new board. I couldn't have been more satisfied. Very spacious and clean pools. About 50-100 tanning lounge chairs to choose from. Very attentive lifeguards. Snack bar is available as well. A diving pool, Olympic pool, swimming lanes, adult section, and various feet of water to swim in. This is all included when you pay the one time fee for the day. So sad I only learned about them towards the end of the summer! They close on Labor Day. Will definitely make it a staple to come back next summer.

Also a playground in the back (not affiliated with the pool). There are always many life guards on duty every time I've gone. The pool is accessible only to Clarkstown residents and their guests, so if you're not a resident befriend someone who is. You must obtain a Clarkstown resident ID card first at the registration office at 31 Zukor Road in New City. (The pool won't simply accept a driver's license.) Rates can be either daily or seasonal for individuals or family, and are very reasonable compared to similar community pools.

On a recent visit it was nice to see that the previous snake-ridden den of iniquity has long been been replaced with a legitimate pool and that the mythological beasts of years past have been slayed by chlorine and actual cement walls. You can even see right to the bottom. What a concept. This is what Nanuet Lake should have been like all along... no thanks whatsoever to my parents who thought this was some tough love version of Shangri La, albeit minus the all consuming bliss one often finds in paradise. I kid about my parents (almost) and am happy to bestow five easy stars for a childhood reclaimed. I still hate snakes.

( see pix) For those who might be using a GPS be aware once entering the park to make aright turn and follow to the back parking lot where the Center is. The group was lead by Susan Lilli's - Conductor & Narrator. They sang a variety of holiday songs and did a few skits, also handing out candy canes to the audience. "Nancy" played the drum for " Little drummer boy". They ended with "Auld Lang Syne wishing the audience good holidays and Happy New Year. In the back there were a few snacks for the sharing. The building itself has some children's decor, a display of wall tiles and a little Christmas tree in the hall.

Occasionally, the park will hold certain culture nights, on the weekend that I visited they had a Caribbean night out near the amphitheater. A lot of people showed up and it definitely was not a disappointment. They even had a few celebrity, Caribbean singers. A lot of food vendors and arts and craft vendors were out and about making it worthwhile for the visitors. This park holds a lot of history, the memorial site down near the pond is a great place to watch the sunset. Here's a fun fact, Eisenhower State Park is larger than Central Park in Manhattan. If you ever get a chance to visit, I highly recommend. Not to mention there is also a golf course accessible to the public for a small day fee.

It was a nice treat to be able to attend their annual Christmas Party here as well as a smaller meeting earlier that month. You are greeted with smiles from the second you walk in. We were directed to our magnificent room for the Christmas party which was just up the stairs. There is one very large Christmas tree here. The room was just so festive with holiday spirit. Love the giant fireplace, it is a great spot for pictures too. The food was wonderful. For the Kiwanis general meeting it was a buffet. It was the general fare of beef, chicken and salmon. Everything was delicious and there was plenty of food. All delicious... I must admit that they have the best chocolate chip cookies here. We had a wonderful sit down dinner at the Christmas party in the main room. Both my wife and I had the short ribs which were just outstanding. Not only was the food great, but the team here is magnificent. Everyone here is just so customer service oriented. Honestly, I would expect that in a club like this but the folks here were just special. Everyone with a smile on their face and working together so perfectly orchestrated. Just not enough good things to say about the Nassau Country Club but after my next visit I am sure that I will be able to add text to this review. KUDOs to all!
