4.5 stars rounded up! We visited the day after Christmas and had a wonderful meal! Pros- beautiful interior, great service, very good dirty martini, fun menu, AMAZING short rib poutine. Cons- the gravy in the seafood grits had large chunks of ham which was interesting but the mela was still good, Caesar salad could be better.

As I previously reviewed we were visiting Harbor Springs downtown and the beach in the morning. This was our first time here with my family of seven including three adults and three young children for our 12 noon lunch reservation. The restaurant opened a few minutes after 12 noon. Other customers ahead of us were also waiting to be seated. The hostess was not very friendly. The older female hostess seemed to be annoyed, when we checked in. We were seated at a round table near the deck. We had a partial view of the bay. I enjoyed my two Michigan Manhattans with Iron Fish bourbon whiskey, sweet vermouth, Iron Fish cherry maple smoked bitters and a cherry up for $19 each. I also enjoyed my reuben for $21. The reuben is made with Sy Ginsberg corned beef, house sauerkraut, swiss, house thousand island dressing, toasted rye and beef tallow fries. This restaurant is expensive. Our food service was slow even though the restaurant was not crowded. We had to wait almost an hour for our food to be served to us. Being with young children was not good for our young children to wait so long. Keni served us very well. I don't think Keni was the cause of our slow food service. Our total bill was $242 excluding gratuity.

Great little cocktail place before dinner with snacks. The inside is cute and it has a nice view of the boat harbor.

Favorite place in Harbor Springs. Kathy is an amazing waitress. Ask for seat next to the window if you want best water view.

The food is excellent but the portions are good for one person. We sat on the porch outside next to the water; a great venue.

Staff was attentive and pleasant, and guests were engaged in animated, quiet conversation at their tables. The breakfast sandwiches are phenomenal--see photos for their names and to make your mouth water. I forgot to take a photo of the Dutch baby pancake. Mine was good and the fruit fresh, but if I had a do-over, I'd order a sandwich with potatoes instead because those are some of the best breakfast potatoes I've ever had--perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. My daughter's Dutch baby was sitting in a pool of grease and should have been sent back, but she didn't say anything because she thought it was normal, and by then it was too late. That was the only bummer. It is very small inside, but miraculously we did not have a wait for seven people. You can just pop in for a baked good from their display case or order carryout if you don't have time to sit for breakfast. I encourage you to check Small Batch out!

Breakfast potatoes were AMAZING. downsides: Coke was $4. Syrup was not real maple syrup but the artificial kind, you'd expect real maple syrup at a fancy place like this, strawberries in the Dutch baby still had leaves on them. There are some needless rules that one might consider bad customer service (ex. Heard another table ask if they could get the eggs on the side of their dish instead of on top, server stated "she won't deconstruct it you'll have to remove the eggs yourself")

The only drawback was the table size. It felt a bit tight for five people once the drinks and plates started filling the space. Aside from that, the restaurant was clean, including the bathrooms, which is always appreciated. Our server was prompt and attentive. She quickly took our drink orders and returned shortly after with them, then took our food order without delay. The kitchen moved efficiently, and our meals arrived fairly quickly. Dinner came with one basket of bread and butter, with additional baskets available for an extra charge. We also ordered three desserts, which were decent and a nice way to end the meal. As for the food, the lamb stood out and was very good. The steaks were solid and well prepared. The chicken Alfredo was a bit too heavy on the cheese, making the sauce thicker than expected. The mushroom ravioli with beef delivered strong mushroom flavor, definitely generous on that front. For five people, including three desserts, our total bill came to $246. Overall, it was a good experience with attentive service and mostly enjoyable food.

It sits right on the water, making it the perfect spot for a nice meal with a gorgeous view. I'll be honest--the food used to be pretty mediocre in my opinion, but I'm not sure what changed because they have seriously stepped up their game! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We had the shrimp bao buns, burrata, lobster pappardelle, and the flank steak with grits, and every single dish was a 10/10. The flavors are unique, interesting, and so well done. The portions are also surprisingly generous. It's definitely on the pricier side, but you're getting high-quality food AND a substantial amount of it, so it feels well worth it. The restaurant is beautiful and clean, and the service is always excellent. If you're in the Bay Harbor area, I'd definitely recommend giving Nomad a try--you won't be disappointed!

If you've not been to Bay Harbor, this spot makes it worthwhile. Not every seat is great in the place, but the booths and the bar are very well designed. The view provided outside was an art festival assembling on the lawn of this intimate and opulent harbor. The scene had my mind somewhere between a pharmaceutical ad and Marilyn Manson's, "The Beautiful People." Our server / bartender was super welcoming. We enjoyed a Spritz & a mocktail Mojito. Both well made. We split a large chop chop salad. (Enough for 4 for a light sample but plenty for 2) She had the heirloom risotto and I opted for the spicy sausage rigatoni. We loved the food! A nice spot no doubt. When the opportunity presents itself again, we look forward.
