Had a reservation at 5:30 for 2. My daughter decided at the last minute to join us. We walked in for our reservation on time and informed the hostesses (4 of them!) that we needed to add one more guest to the reservation. The 4 of them searched on their hostess stand computer and just couldn't seem to figure out how to accommodate one more person! Note for management (hopefully they're checking yelp reviews!): it's probably not wise to have every single table/chair booked for every minute of the evening! Our first time here. Service was very good food was good also. Wife has a Bolognese and I had their burger. The bolognese was a small dish but ok for the wife. She said it was ok for her. Drinks must be a meter poured bourbon which held us to one drink each. Not quite the pour I normally expect in and around louisville. I wanted so badly to like the Pine Room. It was a cool rainy night when 6 of us decided to make reservations and check it out. We were seated right away. Server was nice enough. Don't recall her name. Our drinks were unusual and delicious. I had a vodka drink served w blueberries and muddled mint. 10 was a reasonable price. I had two. Served in a mule cup it may have been more summery but that's ok. The server suggested the nachos. They were delicious. Small plate appetizer. Sharing for 6 was ok but don't expect to have seconds. They were usual. They had radishes. Avocados. Chips were crispy. 14 dollars. I had the scallop special for dinner. 3 beautifully seared scallops with some root veggie purée. And some pea shoots. 27 for the entree. A friend tried the chicken liver appetizer for an entree. Which he should not have done. He left hungry. Another tried the hamburger. Said it was just ok. We ordered desserts. Three of us ordered the lemon pie. Two of us sent it back. It was not good. It was so tart it was beyond tart. And hen the crust was burnt. So together not a hit. They offered a cookie as a replacement which was delicious. Light. Airy. Crispy. Delicious. We wanted to stay for convo but that wasn't possible. The place was packed and we volunteered to leave. It was easy to spot the regulars of The Pine Room. We might go back. We would have to consider other options. read more

Beautiful remodel and nice ambiance. The Shoshito Pepper appetizer and Fried Artichokes were yummy! I had the Pappardelle and hubby had the Bolognese-- both solid. We have dined at The Pine Room twice. Once at the bar and once in the dinning room. The service and food were great both times. Cabbage salad was a nice change from the same old same old. Shrimp and grits were tasty both times. The fried chicken was a great spin on a classic. Presentation and flavor combinations were all super. This place is a true gem. read more

I stopped into the pine room this evening for the first time and it was the best decision I made all day. I had the fried chicken, served with mashed potatoes, greens, and a piece of cornbread. It was delightful. Everything was very flavorful and the presentation was beautiful. My server's name was Matt, and he was lovely. His menu knowledge was on point and he was flowing with positive energy. Great customer service. I like the quaint atmosphere as well. I will definitely be returning again! read more

I told the waitress I wanted the salmon salad. She brought me the regular salmon entrée, and I ate it. I had never been there before so I didn't know the difference until the bill arrived. No volunteering to make it right. I don't think I will go back. Not THAT special. read more

What a great culinary entertainment experience! The charm of a perfectly executed cozy road side resort restaurant meshed with the "Mise en place" of a big city five star restaurant. Food was excellent. Enjoyed the Mexican Street Corn appetizer providing good spicy foreplay for an excellent presentation Halibut entree enhanced by unique stimulating sauces displayed on the side. Well stocked bar with ample choices for the discriminating palate. Wine list with wide reputable choices at reasonable prices. French Press Coffee was superb. Jessica was our server and displayed thorough menu knowledge, professionalism, and a welcoming demeanor. Although located two hours away, I plan to cheerfully return. BIG fan! It was a Tuesday for reference. The place had a good crowd, but some tables were available. We made reservations through google for a girl's dinner. We couldn't make reservations through yelp or open table :( They had a live pianist the entire time we were there 7-9. I selected wine, my friend had a hibiscus tea. We started with the nachos. I really loved them, all the toppings were great. I selected the PAPPARDELLE PASTA with chicken. It was so wonderful! The veggies were cooked perfectly. It tasted mild, but bold at the same time. I couldn't have loved it more. My one girlfriend had the Bolognese and my other friend had the fried chicken. Both looked amazing. We ended the night with the donut fritters (6 per order). They were served hot with caramel and oats on top. I really enjoyed them. I had two glasses of wine, a pasta dish with add on chicken, and split the app/dessert with my friends and spent about $50. This felt very affordable given the awesome dishes and service. The servings weren't small like most higher end restaurants. Honestly, the pianist brought the night from a 10/10 to a 15/10. We had a very engaging wait staff...initially. As the evening progressed, it was less appealing. Food was ok. Nothing extraordinary. I was hoping for delicious food with a flair, but didn't find it here. Not sure I'd ever go back. Key notes: drinks were really good, food was mediocre. I had the salmon and asked for medium done. It was so overdone that I had a hard time getting my fork to cut through it. Yes, I could have asked for another piece, but we had children from 1-12 years of age....we want in and out! Very disappointed in the food. I had the fried chicken which may have been prepared earlier in the a.m. Tough, overcooked, tasteless. Colonel Sanders could beat this. I did like the mashed potatoes even though they were placed under the chicken breast and a bit runny. The greens were good.No bread served excel 4 small sliced of cheese straws for 3 of us. My two friends were no pleased with their fare. One had the pasta, the other had the liver appetizer and a salad which she said was mediocre. the acoustics are bad so it was difficult to talk. Tables are too closely spaced. Did like the music. This is a good location. Hope others have a better experience than I and my friends had. I have posted 2 other reviews which were never shown. My wife and I just had a wonderful experience this evening despite some of the reviews we read here. We had the shrimp & grits, chicken liver toast, and nachos. All three were delicious. The service was prompt and attentive. Parking was ample and the ramp made access easy for us old timers. Only problem was trying to turn east out of the parking lot at the end of rush hour. A suggestion might be to make dining available at the back of the property on Harrods creek. read more

Amazing food. Friendly staff. Beautiful location. I will definitely be back. Probably the best brunch I have had in Louisville and dinner did not disappoint. PEI mussels and chicken liver toast were the highlights. The drive from downtown Louisville on River Road only added to the romance for date night for my husband and I. It's a beautiful drive on a Kentucky Scenic byway, felt like we were going on a trip out of town but in a handful of miles, we had arrived. This place was way over-rated by the Courier Journal. Obviously the Courier Journal's critic has not experienced many fine dining 4 and 5 star restaurants. This is another one-and-done for me in the Louisville over-rated restaurant scene. I would have much rather had the filet mignon with a tossed salad and blue cheese dressing from the one and only Pine Room in 1971 which I enjoyed many times. Had a really great experience at Pine Room. We had a party of 10 which can sometimes be a challenge for restaurants to tackle but not here! Ate at the bar. Positives: Bartender and Manager were both friendly and professional. Atmosphere was very good . Negatives: limited menu if you chose to eat there more frequently. Our fist experience was today for Sunday brunch. Loved the choices on the menu, especially the vegetarian options. Food and service were top /notch and they're very accommodating to special requests. We used to love the Cast Iron Grill. When the doors closed, we were really disappointed. But...we were also excited about the Pine Room opening up. This was our 2nd attempt to eat at the establishment. Both times were told "no" because we didn't have reservations. The recording on their phone says they always will leave room for walk-ins. Need to erase that off your phone recording NOW. That is definitely not the case. The hostess made sure to let me know we would not be seated on those two separate evenings. No room at the bar on both occasions and the piano is way too much for that little space. It is new, so I understand it's busy. Miss the days of having a great spot to drop in 5 mins from the house when you get a last minute urge to eat out. We're so happy to have this new restaurant in our neighborhood. The building has been upgraded with a light airy feel, interesting art, modern bathrooms and settings. The booths and tables are well placed and acoustic panels are cleverly disguised and do a great job keeping the noise level down, even when the place is full. And it seems to be always full. Yet, even without a reservation, the manager found us a table. The service is just right. And best of all, the food matches the decor: a small, well-curated menu with delicious appetizers, entrees, and desserts. We are foodies and dine regularly at Proof, Decca, etc. The Pine Room is right up there with the best of Louisville restaurants. My husband and I stopped in last Sunday to try the new Pine Room. We could not have been more disappointed. The young man at the door abruptly informed us we would not be able to be seated as they were fully booked for the evening. (Not offended they were booked but terribly put off by his attitude) They did have two seats at the bar. We were presented with the menus and were flabbergasted at the lack of selections. We decided to forgo dinner and left. The atomosphere is way to trendy and cold and the piano player is was way to loud for the small space. I'm pretty sure the only comparison that can be made to the old Pine Room is in name only. read more

Profoundly disappointed! We were excited to see a new restaurant in our neighborhood, however, after eating there, we won't be back. Host was rude, server was slow, food was average at best.
