She takes her time helping you select the wig that would look best on you and that would best suit your lifestyle. Once you select the wig, she styles on your head to make it look like a weave or your own hair. Many of my family and friends go to Hair Heaven to see Marsha because her expertise is unmatched. Plus she is so kind and has a great personality which makes you want to keep coming back for more. If you are ever in the area and would like a good wig, stop by.

The shop has remained downtown but is now at 517 Atlantic Avenue near 3rd Avenue. The owner, Joyce, is very patient, helpful, and knowledgeable. The stylist, Julian, is fantastic! Her goal is to ensure you leave the shop pleased. My initial visit was out of necessity due to a scalp condition alopecia, and Joyce and her staff were caring and made me feel very comfortable. I left the shop confident and remain a client to this day, 30 years later. Visit the shop if you wish to transform your look or be someone different on any given day or night. You will not regret it! Danielle is just amazing - she super nice and extremely talented - I have been getting tape in…read moreextensions for years and wow what a difference it makes when you go to someone who is as talented and professional as her!! I highly recommend and found my new go to pro for hair extensions. I I could give 10 stars I would - she is simply fabulous !!!!

I wanted to get my mothers hair done as a gift (it's been awhile since she was treated to something…read morenice). She has fine curly hair and wanted a fuller style. I was looking for a hairstylist that could help and a friend told me that Danielle from Luxurious Hair is a Top Artist/stylist for Nioxin that does great work and to check out her website. So I checked her website out (Website looks good -check) I called her (picked up and super sweet and responsive on phone-check, ) and made an appointment for my mom. When we got to her private salon, we were immediately offered water and snacks (love those chocolate chip cookies, two kinds of chocolate in them?!- check) then Danielle immediately educated my mother on her hair, on the right products to use along with new styling tips so she can do it at home herself (caring, took her time, we were not rushed-double check and she was cute so ok another check). My moms hair looks awesome (too bad she's my mom) and is now going back for a one on one blow dry lesson (I thought women were born knowing how to blow dry?) and again next month for an updo (just learned that word) for my cousins wedding. Danielle has great customer service and she was cute so yeah a check.. Afterwards she now wants to do extensions after seeing Danielle's portfolio of clients and how natural it looks (I saw before and afters, pretty cool- I didn't even know women wear extensions....check for extensions and women who get away with it.. ) Danielle even told my mom that she can talk to some of her clients for their honest feedback. I would highly recommend her. She is experienced, honest, very affordable for the type of work she does (triple checkers) and cares about her work and clients. Cool experience and Mom is so happy and loves her hair so that's more checks than I can give...

The experience: I went in on a random weekday, with the…read moreintention of getting a wash and blow dry to flat iron my hair at home. I was offered a beverage, welcomed warmly and midway through my wash decided to get a full silk press. I am in the process of growing my hair and preserving my curl pattern and communicated this ad nauseam and felt understood and heard. Acknowledging that I switched up a bit during the process, the team quickly pivoted. The owner stepped in to rewash my hair, another stepped in for a trim and Jammie pressed my hair TO THE GODS! The silk press: This was the silkiest and most bone straight silk press I've ever gotten. My hair was shiny, smelled great, and was super light and airy. I generally struggle to keep a silk press more than a week, this silk press lasted a full month. I was quite weary over time that my hair would not revert back. It was just too straight! Got my silk press on 11/7 and washed my hair on 12/8 and my curls immediately reverted back with minimal heat damage! I will definitely be returning again and of course encourage folks to be wary with any heat services but would recommend Sew!

Apparently now I have to give a one star review due to the response to my negative review…read more Shawanda I am disappointed with some of your responses to my negative review. As a business owner I think taking constructive criticism is vital and normal for the business to improve and not for the owner to bash a client who chooses to write a negative review on yelp for their service that they were not happy with. I also feel it's unprofessional to throw the race card in and say that it's truly sad what my black people do. Shawanda if I were not black and was another race you would have not made this statement. This has nothing to do with race, tearing each other down, or exploiting the business on yelp, it has something to do with the quality of service that I received that was it nothing personal or deep about it. I think my review was pretty fair, mild, and honest and I should be able to write if I received poor service without underlying tone in responses back from the owner. So should anyone else. Shawanda I hope you reconsider carefully how you respond to negative reviews about your establishment. It's only for improvement. I tried to contact the salon via email with the same pictures I have on yelp of my burnt hair way before I wrote the review but no one ever responded.

I am conflicted about leaving this review because their policy of offering free haircuts to cancer…read morepatients, which I am, is compassionate, but they totally messed up my hair and helping isn't helping when you ruin an already challenged head of hair on someone already struggling. After keeping me waiting for more than 40 minutes, my stylist didn't want to cut the back of my hair but took off two inches more than I wanted her to on the front and it's totally uneven and sloppy. Then to fix a bad color job, she put a "gloss" on me for $160 that did absolutely nothing. She acknowledged it did absolutely nothing and offered to do it again. I should have stopped her but thought she understood how delicate my hair is and assumed she was comfortable that her gloss was mild enough to use on me twice. Well, her gloss was not at all mild and a bunch of my hair broke off and I'm just distraught. I emailed the salon several times and they have not responded. I asked to communicate with the owner but heard nothing. Again, free help isn't free if your hair is ruined. Good intentions don't count when compromised hair that doesn't grow normally is treated like normal hair. And really, a gloss or any color treatment shouldn't have to be done twice. I'm really upset and paid $240 with tip to have my hair break off.

I found the stylist I used through TikTok and cross checking reviews. But what drew me to sign up…read morewas the fact her location was in an area that I frequent and wasn't as hard for me to reach. It is very close to the Borough Hall train station, close to Jay Street- Metrotech and various other buses and public forms of transport. In fact, I thought the salon was a general spa as opposed to a salon suite of different hairdressers and beauty services. I am used to this type of establishment because I had a hairstylist who worked in a similar space when I lived outside of NYC. There are various ways to enter. My hairstylist gave me a code to enter and you can either call for the stylist to get you up or you can get a QR code. The lobby to the salons are on the first floor while the actual booths are on the second floor. There are stairs and an elevator. There are multiple couches and comfy benches on the second floor so you can wait for your appointment. There are stations for coffee and tea that my stylist told me to take advantage of. There is artwork all over and the color scheme makes it not sterile but not too bright. There is a vending machine onsite but since the location is close to many eateries (chopt is next door) you don't have to worry about access. I had a great time with my stylist Lilian. She came on time. She asked me questions about my desires and goals and gave me recommendations that I can use in my free time. I look forward to using her services in the future.
