I LOVE this cafe!! It has the most comforting vibes and it's definitely stuck in the 90s which I love. The service is always a 10 when I come no matter the day nor time. Their biscuits and gravy are legendary but my favorite is their GIANT cinnamon roll. It's so big you can share with 4 people easily as I shared it with 3 people at one time and we were full and it wasn't fully ate! Definitely worth a visit (: P.s. I do hope they'll stop microwaving the cinnamon roll to heat up and just thrown into the oven for a few mins to prevent the frosting separation

This was such a cute little mom-and-pop restaurant tucked away in a small Arizona town on our way back to Colorado. It had that cozy, small-town charm that makes you feel right at home the second you walk in. I ordered the chili and cornbread to start -- the chili was phenomenal! It had just the right amount of spice to give it a kick without being too much. And the cornbread... oh my goodness, mouth-watering doesn't even begin to describe it. For my meal, I had eggs, toast, and sausage -- everything tasted homemade, like something your mom would whip up in her kitchen on a Sunday morning. Truly comfort food at its best. The service was great -- friendly and welcoming -- and the inside was exactly what you'd expect from a small-town café: super cute, quaint, and full of charm. If you're passing through, this spot is definitely worth stopping for. Delicious food, kind people, and that cozy hometown feel!

Have not been to the Pinon Cafe since it was called the Knotty Pine Cafe many years ago! Had a nice breakfast, chicken fried steak with home made biscuit. Order came with two eggs and home fried potatoes. Friend enjoyed the corn beef hash. Service as good. Ambience is pure country. Coffee was hot. All good here!

This place has a real mom-and-pop café feel. The food is delicious, and the cinnamon roll is absolutely ginormous. Usually when cinnamon rolls are that big, the edges are dry and you only want the center -- but that wasn't the case here. The whole thing was soft, fresh, and delicious from edge to center. They're also very accommodating. If you want a half order, we absolutely loved that this way we could try a couple things each something sweet, something savory., they're more than happy to work with you. Everyone was very nice, the place was clean, and overall it was a great experience. I'd definitely come back!

Best cinnamon roll in Arizona!! Change my mind! It is always fresh and consistent in flavor! You will spend $10 for it however it can feed 3-4 people.

Has a great time after some snurr boarding (snow boarding) a friend in town recommended this cafe and we loved it! The burgers are really good and the fries are crunchy and taste like everything else they throw in the fryer (which I like) I do have regrets not getting the pancakes like my fellow yelp elite Jon but the biscuits and gravy were ok. (I would not get them again) Oooo also side note sometimes they use canned items so if you're not sure if you want to order something they can get you a sample. I wanted a soup but was a little cautious and got a sample thank goodness I did because I think it was Campbells a little dressed up lol Regardless the food is good the staff is welcoming and happy. I wish I had room for a cinni but I'll have to come back next time I'm in town.

Perfectly homestyle breakfast food! Portion sizes were huge for the price point, and everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. My biggest regret is not trying one of their GIANT cinnamon rolls that they were frosting as we were leaving.

The service was fast friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. Everything was hot and fresh. The Elvis was amazing. Not too sweet. The atmosphere was cozy country. John 3:16 on the bottom of the menus. Everyone working there was friendly, helpful, and genuinely caring. The cashier gave of great recommendations on places to visit in town and things to do nearby. We will definitely return whenever we are in the Payson area.

We basically made the trip to Payson solely because I saw someone on instagram post about the amazing cinnamon roll. And I'm sure glad we did wow that was delicious! There was a hit of a wait on a Saturday morning but it wasn't too bad, like 15 minutes. Service was great even though they were pretty busy. Everyone was very nice to our almost 16 month old! Cute and very small town ish in here. In an old building but very well kept. We ordered the cinnamon roll, I got the yogurt bowl with a side of potatoes to share with my son, and my husband got the eggs with toast, hash browns, and bacon. My was impressed with the amount of bacon they served him and how crispy it was. My yogurt bowl had yummy fresh fruit on it and the country potatoes were perfectly seasoned. The cinnamon roll was the star of the show, massive with a delicious cinnamon gooey center. They also serve locally roasted coffee and my husband enjoyed a couple cups! We had a ton of food and our total was $40 which is incredibly reasonable. Cute and delicious spot to visit in the area for sure!

There's something comfortably out of time about the place. The Grotto is a model of consistency. Nice, energetic staff, a good overall vibe, vintage concert posters lining the walls, and a playlist that is basically the Great American Pop/Rock Songbook. Nothing particularly complicated here. They just know what works. My go-to is the "Famous Chicken Salad Sandwich." I've had one hundred of these sandwiches by now (lol), and not one has ever been off. The menu is expansive, and in nearly a decade I've never had anything that missed. That kind of consistency is harder to find than it should be. The menu is priced accordingly, too, which makes The Grotto one of those increasingly rare joints that doesn't seem hell-bent on robbery. If you happen to run into the owner, Mike, he's a fun guy, a music historian, a Barry Goldwater geek, and apparently has no problem hitting on your woman right in front of you. (lol) The Grotto is a nice respite from the cowboy, biker, gift-shop vibe that has become the town of Cave Creek. It's a little bit of Laurel Canyon hiding out in the middle of Yeehaw country.

I say "mildly suprised" because once we walked up to the actual coffee house we heard the live music on the large back patio. One of our absolutely favorite local artist, Aaron Howard was performing, and he definitely brings in a crowd. It was busy, as I mentioned, but not too crowded, and we found a good table towards the back. As it was the begging of the hot weather this spring, we were very grateful for the generous-sized table umbrellas. But first, we went inside the Bodega to order a Beer and a snack. They have a great selection of Beer and wine! And since we were still 2 hours or so away from dinner, we decided to grab a veggie & cheese board, which had a nice variety of cruditè and humas. It was very satisfying for 2 adults. We spent.a total of about 2 hours there and left there knowing we would be coming back to Janey's. Side note: For those of you who need accessibility, I myself am on an electric scooter for ambulating. The parking lot is dirt and only has a couple of handicap parking spots. But no space is more than approximately 150 ft from the entrance to Janey's. Once you get to the building, it is very easy to get in and out of the main bodega, with wide, level doorways. The doors were propped open when we visited. I did not utilize the restroom on this visit.
