Returned to the pub many months after my initial review and was very pleased with the change in atmosphere from my initial visit. Not many beers on tap, but the ones they had were true to the Irish pub spirit and extremely tasty. I had the flight to begin with so I could try all five, then stuck to Guinness. Not because the others weren't good, but I like Guinness. The menu was literally making my mouth water with selections like scotch eggs and bangers and mash. I'm definitely going to go back just for the food. I'd like to try their Irish breakfast and see if it's as good as Nana's on the coast. I think the effort they have put into creating a pub atmosphere has really paid off. The first time I was there I thought it was a bit forced and missed the mark, but this time I found it warm, friendly, cozy and enjoyable. I'd give it five stars, but I haven't tried the food yet. I visited your place for the first time on Monday evening. My experience was well below stellar. It must've been the managers night off because the service and food were pitiful. I think the kitchen consists of a freezer and a microwave. My food was served at room temperature. When I requested a replacement meal, it took an inordinate amount of time. We were the only people eating. We ended up going home to eat. Your place has potential, but until you iron out all the wrinkles it really falls flat. Pub food should be simple but delicious fare. I had a great time here watching a playoff NFL game. Few pints, some poutine; a classic pub experience. Lots of banter from locals and football fans which was appreciated. The locals seemed to really live this place and there was a stine collection for yearly "members." Worth checking out for small parties or sporting events. read more

Pint pot is my favorite pub in Eugene. Only about 4 import beers on tap but they are all good, including guinness. They have a lot of great import whiskeys and other great alcohols. Food is amazing have had almost everything on the menu at this point. The stew is really well made and so is everything else on the menu. Seriously the best pretzel in town in my opinion, great mustard sauce and cheese. Fun atmosphere with comfy chairs and board games if you are looking for a relaxed night. There is also a patio which is next to the canal for a relaxed afternoon. Come here and try the food and drink while having a good time with friends. read more

So far I believe this is the best Irish Pub in town--the Guinness on nitro is the best I've tasted (Guinness exports 18 different versions of it's stout) and they also know how to pour it. They have a few other drafts/nitro pours: Belhaven, Smithwick's and a beer list that you'd find in your typical Irish/British/Scottish pubs. I've been here more that a few times and can recommend the Shepherd's Pie, Scottish quail eggs (not Scotch--that's whiskey), and Bangers and Mash. Although when I had the bangers and mash today they were drowned in salty beef gravy which made it difficult to appreciate the colcannon--the bangers are salty enough! On the menu the dish is described as "drizzled in gravy." I'd add another star if there hadn't been the gravy offense because I love my colcannon. The bangers are authentic Irish imports sourced from Long's meats--love a good Irish banger! I must also mention the side of soda bread and honey butter served with the bangers and mash--it was fantastic! They have whole side orders of it and I recommend it if you're just needing a little treat that's not too sweet to pair with your tea. There's a respectable whiskey menu to choose from including Irish, American and Scotch whiskey's. If you want more than whiskey they have a full bar with creative twists on traditional cocktails. The Irish coffee looked amazing (will try sometime), anglophile Pimm's cup and their Moscow Mules are served in the frosty cold copper mugs! The ambience is perfect "Irish pub"--when you walk in you're enveloped in that dark stained wood work, the quaint horseshoe shaped bar, the accents of culture hanging on the wall (2 handed broadsword, bagpipes, framed kilt & tartan clan names). Even the restroom is charming in it's way and there's a faux fireplace with reading chairs to sit in. It's very small but cheerful and there's Irish folk music playing on sound system. Another plus is the "silent" flatscreen if you like to watch your sports but don't need the noise of the game/ads. They had soccer (aka: football) on today. Outside you have 2 options, the cozy umbrella covered beer garden in back or the picnic tables street side in front of pub, weather permitting. I really wish this place were a bit bigger; however the publicans are to be commended on working with the space they have. Visit THIS place if you need an Irish pub fix. Still delicious - but they really should include two sausages to call it "Bangers and Mash." Next time I'll order a second banger as a side order, but I shouldn't have to. Haven't traveled the world, but did live in England for several years--this place would be a bit sad to know they remind me of the UK, which says they are a legit Irish pub! Do not embarrass yourself by ordering a lager, or much in terms of US Northwest IPAs. The food is good, filling, and their own; you can compare their charcuterie plate with other places, but theirs will hold up, as will any other dish -unless you are comparing it with your Irish grandmother's! read more

This is just a rating of their pint of Guinness. Not amazing, but it is about as good as you can expect for Eugene. I'm a tough judge, if this were served in Ireland I probably wouldn't go back for another. The head had no dome, a hint of yellow and several large ugly bubbles in it. The flavor was good which is what saved it, but needed to be creamier. Lacing was fair and the 'gravity' glass appeared to be cleaned well. It should be on its own temperature tap as it was served too cold. Until you can make a trip to Dublin this will do. read more

This is a cute little pup. Cozy places to sit and fun games to play as you sip. The beer list is good but some of the drinks all taste the same. They need to add a little more alcohol to the drinks and play with the drink recipes more. The Moscow mule tasted the same as a Pimm. But we had fun and the people were great. My husband and I had a very mixed experience at the Pint Pot. The staff was friendly, but they didn't have very good table service. Food: I ordered the lamb stew, and it was amazing. Very authentic. My husband ordered the bangers and mash, because he'd heard it was also authentic. It wasn't. First, the gravy had a skin on the top, like it had set under a heat lamp for too long, like maybe they didn't time things right when they were cooking the sausages? It didn't look at all appetizing. Second, the gravy was really strong - it really overpowered the potatoes and the sausage, which by itself was a little bland. I understand they get their meats locally (at Long's) but these weren't seasoned much, especially compared to the gravy which was over seasoned. Service: my husband and I ordered our drinks at the same time, but he ordered his meal ahead of me not realizing that I needed another minute to decide. When our drinks arrived, I had decided what to order for dinner. Of course, his meal came out a full ten minutes before mine (and somehow still had that skin on the gravy? It made me question if they make food to order or if they had an extra one sitting around and decided to use that?) Lastly, when we were finished eating, the server gave us the check without asking if we wanted anything else - which we did. We wanted another round of drinks before we left. My husband still had half a Guinness left so I told the server that I'd order my drink when my husband ordered his. But the server brought me a beer anyway. A beer that I didn't even order. I was thinking about ordering another mixed drink, but before I could even get his attention, he was gone. At that point, I figured "screw it" and I just drank the beer. Now, I know I take longer than the average person to decide on stuff, but that wasn't good service. And the food was a mixed bag. We'll probably go back, because I want to like this place. The Pint Pot is a gem in Eugene; a small Irish pub that boasts a lot of local personality. This bar was directly across the street from the apartment we stayed at, and as such, was the first place my wife and I visited on our first trip to Eugene from Orlando. It's a personal space as much as a bar can be. Small and cozy, with a warm hearth type feeling when you walk in. The bar was being manned by Teren, and after telling him we weren't locals, he gave us the run down of the city, cool places to check out, and was generally just an awesome dude and a hell of a lot of fun to talk to. The owners eventually showed up and we wound up ordering some food and having dinner and drinks with them at the bar top. Their dinner is awesome, a traditional Irish fare, with a small, but fantastic list of entrees that go well with every drink they have, Everybody I met, working there or not, were super cool people, and totally welcoming. My wife and I came back almost every night just to meet new people and relax in this cozy place. Even in Portland, we debated heading back for a night there. Do yourself a favour. If you're in Eugene and you like good drinks, good food, and good people, go to Pint Pot. read more

A friend and I visited the Pint Pot for dinner while in Eugene for a conference. The place is very small and cozy and decorated to match its old Irish pub theme. Because the place is small, the noise level was very low and made it very easy to carry on a conversation while enjoying a Back & Tan. The Pint Pot has full bar service and a limited but excellent menu. I ordered a traditional Bangers and Mash which was the best I've had. There was no dinner meal on the menu over $12. The service was prompt and friendly. Located near the university, I noted on a Wednesday night that most patrons were between 21 and 30. The clientele reminded me a lot of the peaceful but colorful people you associate with downtown Olympia, WA. The ONLY things that keep me from giving this place a full five stars are (1) the limited seating, and (2) the hardness of the bench seats should you use them. Neither of those would stop me from recommending this place to anyone who enjoys a fine Irish pub. read more

I almost don't want to write this review, because The Pint Pot is a perfectly sized, smallish corner bar. It has a very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, and it feels very open. There's outdoor seating in front, as well as a fenced area out back. The fare is what you'd expect from an Irish/English themed bar. Bangers and mash, soda bread, meat samplers, corned hash and, strangely enough, poutine. The drinks reflect this as well, with offerings including Guinness, Smithwicks and a variety of whiskey and scotch. The tap beer runs at $5, with Guinness at $5.50. Cans of Boddingtons and Coors are slightly less. I overheard the bartender saying that the second shot in a double is priced at half the liquor's base cost, though. I didn't try the food on my first visit, but the guy next to me ordered three dishes, and seemed to enjoy them all. There are two televisions, one at the end of the curved bar, as well as one in front of a seating area with various felt couches and arm chairs. They were broadcasting college baseball while I was there, but they are working to show soccer games as well. The place is quiet right now, so it seems great for work, but its hard to tell how popular this place will become. I hope they succeed, but the building is very intimate. If you're doing laundry at Emerald next door, then there's no better way to pass the hour. read more
