First of all, being from NYC, this is not NYC pizza so don't expect it to be. However, that being said, if you need a last minute dinner idea and don't want to cook, this place makes some pretty darn good food. The employees are hard working, every time I am in there they are hustling. I love the negative reviews that complain about the crust. If you notice, it's not a typical crust to start with. If you watch them make the pizza from start to finish and EXPECT it to be a typical crust, then that's on you. read more

Does not even deserve 1 star!! Seriously never go here, the rudest staff that I have ever experienced in my life! The guy serving us was so rude even from us walking in the door, he had such a bad attitude and awful tone. It's located inside that Woodbridge plaza //FOOD// They ran out of basil and apparently don't stock up that much. I came on a Thursday and said they ran out on Monday. Never had this issue with Blaze, Pieology, and other BYO pizza places. I ended up just getting a pepperoni pizza with garlic, and it was alright! Not a huge fan of the dough. //SERVICE// The guy there was froendly and charged me less because he ran out, so I appreciate that. Overall I won't be coming back. Sandra the manager and her crew were super rude to me. First they told me that I asked for cauliflower crust, but I told them that that was not what I asked for and I asked for Gluten-free crust, then they lied to me that that was the same as cauliflower crust. When I checked the website and confronted them with the false information, the same person changed his story and told me that They were actually out of the crust. The price difference was $4 each, when I confronted the manager that they shouldn't lie and give the correct information from the start. She was completely rude about it and told me " Do you want the pizza or not?" I said no. The part that prompted me to leave this review was that right after that, she told them just throw it away or give it away to someone else.(That comment was aimed at giving me the 'go f*** yourself' treatment! Completely disrespectful from the manager to the person at the cashier. I would recommend the owner to consider being more careful about who she is hiring to represent her business and ethics. Not Enough Cooks I'm this Kitchen!! From start to finish it took 30 mins to get your food at 8:15 pm. The pizza was great once you get. I'm glad they had gluten free crust and vegan cheese. Do ask them to cook the pizza a bit longer to get the crust a bit crunchy. Even with the extra time cooking, the pizza was still done before it was my turn to pay. First visit because one of the few places in town that have Kalamata olives. Ordered a custom large pizza with the normal crust. The crust after it was cooked was very flat like a flour tortilla. Was the yeast missing from the dough or is this how it supposed to be (they do press the dough before they place it in the oven)? This place is really awful with awful rude staff (Michael). After placing an online order my order wasn't made. Ok it happens. The guys jumped on making me a replacement pizza when I arrived. They then gave that pizza away to someone else. 30 minutes later with no pizza rather than try a third time I asked for a refund. Unfortunately none of the three employees working could do that so they asked me to wait for a fourth employee to come do that. I, both times, asked how many toppings I could choose and was told as many as I wanted. I been here 4 times before, and we like it. however this last experience was bad. We order the day before for my daughters birthday party 12 pizzas. They were supposed to be ready at 2:00 pm. I showed up at 2:55 pm. I was late, because the other restaurant where we order other food, hadn't the food ready. And I had to wait for 40 minutes. I tried calling and calling to The Pizza Press while I was waiting at the other restaurant, it rang for a while, but no body picked up the phone. So I arrived at pizza press to pick up My order and to my great surprise, They forgot to make my order. I complained why my order wasn't ready, The young man flat out tells me: "you have two options, either you get a refund or we start the pizzas right now" With a tone of carelessness. My response was "Wow". He Then say I am sorry, I just got here. I told him that I need the Pizzas. He told me it would take them 30 Minutes to do them. And he rushed to to do Pizzas. I get it it was not his fault he had just clocked in. He did the best he could that's why the second star. Otherwise I would put only one. Then he told the girl that was doing another pizza for other costumers, that she forgot to make the order that was supposed to be ready about an hour ago, she didn't seem to care much. There was only 2 people there, looks like the place is understaffed. The pizzas were not that good this time. Maybe because they have to rush to make them. My first time at the Irvine location. Was a Friday at around 3:30 PM there were a few customers that has already gotten there food. I seen that there was 1 person making a pizza and maybe 2 or 3 more employees in the back, I showed the worker my Coupon as it was for a specific pizza and ordered 2 of those. While he was prepping the dough on the machine when he removed the dough he burned his fingers on the hot dough maybe 4 times before adding the toppings for pizza 1 pizza 2 was a bit better and toppings got on quicker. When It came down to pay he did not know how to use the coupon and proceeded the ask the manager for help( She was talking and laughing in the back), by this time 6 more people had came in behind me so he is starting to fall behind. She explained how to use the coupon on told him to go back and start the pizzas for the waiting customers. Keep in mind there are extra workers walking in and out from the front to back so customers were waiting a bit. Once that situation got handled I was given my pizzas Togo. I got home both pizzas were not sliced or topped with the sauce that was supposed be on top. Was pretty upset as the pizza was really doughy still and dry with no sauce. I definitely do not blame the worker but the manager that was on shift. She did not seem happy or like she wanted to be there (Maybe because we interrupted her conversation). One of the customize your pizza joints. Pizzas are really good... my son loves this place. Good toppings and variety. Chicken wings are good too. Their toppings after the pizza is cooked is a nice touch. I have them drizzle alittle pesto oil and fresh basil. Gave it a 4 instead of 5 is because they up charge me every time now to get alittle more extra sausage. I'm literally ordering sauce/cheese/sausage I'm not getting any other toppings and I've asked to get alittle more sausage and they want to up charge me for that... i get it if i was adding a ton of toppings and on top of that am asking for extra stuff but the pizza is pretty simple and plain... it's what my son likes.. don't feel i should be up charged for that read more

The only reason that I'm giving even 1 Star is because the food at Pizza Press never disappoints. I've been to other Pizza Press locations and this was BY FAR the WORST one I have ever been to in my life. I usually go to the Pizza Press in Tustin and I am always happy with my time there. So I wanted to try out a corporate location just to see if there were any differences. This corporate location was disgustingly filthy, the employees were so rude and inappropriate and NOTHING was stocked. The second I walked in, neither myself nor my plus one were greeted, and there were 4 employees standing around doing absolutely nothing but talking. I go over the dough station to start up our order and we aren't told "hello" or "welcome" even then. The man just asked us how many pizzas. I said two and he made the dough. The girl next to him was doing sauce and toppings. She asked me what sauce I'd like and I said none, just olive oil. She made a face at me like I just asked her to do something so unheard of and asked me again with such attitude "you don't want ANY sauce?" I said firmly, "no, just olive oil please" so she does it and I get my toppings... not to mention that almost every single topping was down to bottom of the bin and some were even completely empty. Granted we did go in at 10pm so an hour before closing, but that is NO excuse for empty toppings. The girl making my pizza then tells me I'll be order number 56 (or something of that sort) unfortunately I couldn't hear her as she spoke so low and i asked her what she said and with attitude again she repeated herself like I had asked her to do something that was so much more work. So I had already a bitter taste in my mouth just with these instances alone.. My plus one makes her pizza and we walk over to the register to pay. Another girl, Jenna, rings us up and while she wasn't very friendly, she wasn't rude either. So no complaints there. After I pay, we wait for our food and I noticed they had a cider beer choice listed, I asked for a sample and of course they are all out of it. That was convenient and annoying. Anyways, as we are waiting for our food, the girl that helped us with our toppings as such tells Jenna that she's going to count the tips.. she grabs the tip jar and starts counting it.. only to realize that she messed up and shouts out "oh fuck!" And all the workers just laugh. I don't think that kind of language should be used in a family friendly environment, let alone while you are on the clock working. Not only that, the entire front counter area, and back where they stand to make the pizzas, were DISGUSTINGLY DIRTY. Smudges and sauce all over the counter, trash on the counters behind them, the place looked like it hadn't ever felt a broom slide across the floor. Moving on, we get our pizzas and they top it and box it up for us (we dine in but get to go boxes to save half for later). My plus one didn't get a lid because they ran out so they said they'd bring it to our table. So we go to sit down and I go to get a soda and the station is not only filthy, but there's no napkins, barely any straws, and the entire condiment/utensil station is empty. The floor was a mess and it grossed me out to the point I questioned even eating there. With 6 employees there and 4 just standing around talking, why aren't things being clean and restocked? My friend and I ended up eating and leaving (she never got her lid for her to go pizza) and I was so outraged at the service, attitude and cleanliness I said I'd have to come and write a review. This was so disappointing and I will be taking my business to any other pizza place. read more

Really can't beat it in terms of custom pizza; its way better than all the competitors such as blaze, pieology, etc. Pizza Press has the best ingredients and what solidifies it as the best pizza spot around is the incredible staff! Last night I came in pretty late (almost closing) and got a great pizza made by Alan. He was so helpful that even when something went wrong with my Pizza (no ones fault just a freak accident) Alan offered to remake me my pizza and was so helpful and nice about it!
