This is the first time I've had The Pizza Shack. I ate at the Byram location and while the food was delish, the associate working the counter had literally the worst attitude ever. I understand you may not like selling your labor to work in the food industry or retail, but if you're going to be there try to, you know, BE THERE. Anyway, I ordered the Cajun Joe which consist of spicy sausage, chicken, cajun marinara sauce, green and red peppers, and onions. I also added banana peppers and jalapenos to mine to spice it up a bit more. It was perfect as far as handmade pizza is concerned. And considering I ordered a small (4 slices) and two slices of it filled me up, I'd say it's a pretty good eat. Overall the pizza was good and maybe the server was having a bad day. Food is good but service is poor. Daytime manager seems overwhelmed and does not have the best customer service attitude. We ordered through Waiter App and selected choices available to us including extras. Manager waited for driver to get there to give me messages ( via the driver) to tell me she did us a favor making our pizza with special requests. My number is visible and available so I'm not certain why I wasn't called in a timely manner to notify me of problems. Plus now asking for extra money for dressing. Pizza Shack please fix your requests with Waiter App so customers can be charged correctly and fairly. read more

The BBQ chicken pizza is so good I would eat it off of Robin Williams' hairy chest. I moved from Jackson to Austin, TX five years ago and I always have to munch out here on visits. When I eat pizza in Austin, I close my eyes and try to pretend it's Pizza Shack. The pizza eats like a d@mn lasagna there are so many toppings. Hands down the best pizza in Jackson. I usually get the Carnivore or BBQ Chicken w/ Bacon Pizza. The staff is friendly and the service is good. My only gripe would be that the prices are getting a little high; but it's not bad for an every now and then thing. read more

I truly loved this pizza. I loved it so much that I had to come back the following day for another pizza. Even though this is the only pizza spot I ate in at Jackson they are hands down worth every bit of money. The toppings covered the entire pizza no space left empty. Also the garlic butter is great and the pizza sauce is on point. As a northern boy this place beats out a lot of other pizza places up north. I really want to love this place (everyone else does), but it is very hit or miss. I've discovered the best chance for delicious success is to order a small pizza, otherwise they end up a sloppy, soggy, greasy mess. But when they are good, they are very good. Nothing bad to say about the service, or staff. It is a really friendly, local place, and I love their new location on Fortification (and that they took over a previously unoccupied eyesore). By far the best pizza in Jackson! Barbeque chicken is my personal favorite, but I really don't think you can go wrong in choosing a pie. The "shack" definitely doesn't provide the same atmosphere as the popular Sal and Mookie, but I suppose that is part of its charm. I always seem to lean towards hole-in the-wall local favorites over the grander-scale tourist traps. Their awesome patio feels far more intimate than the crowded booths and tables at most places. This restaurant is a prime example of why it always helps to ask around (and yelp!) instead of settling for mediocrity. read more

Great pizza. Pizza is on my top ten list of foods. Anywhere I go I'm sure to try the local pizza. As someone else stated...I don't think I've had a heavier pizza! Thing must have weighed 10 pounds. Although I love extra cheese, I think one can make do with regular cheese on this bad boy! read more

We ordered our food at 4:39pm and were told there'd be a 25 minute wait. We ordered one small pizza, two small orders of wings and one order of breadsticks. We paid at 5pm and received our food at 6:16pm. Yes. An hour and a half after ordering. ON A MONDAY BEFORE THE DINNER RUSH..... the wings were ready 10 minutes before the tiny pizza and were, of course, stone cold and clammy by the time we returned home with our NINETY MINUTE WAIT take-out food. The food was marginal. This is our second takeout order here. The first time was okay enough for a repeat but I cannot imagine any universe where marginal food is worth waiting AN HOUR past your promised pickup time. Order at your own risk. We have saved our time stamped receipt in case anyone who actually works here cares. Do we want anything? Soggy Crust, bland, cold pizza. I am a local and have had terrible experiences with the Thai Chicken Pizza. The crust is soggy and thin and the toppings were so watery that it looked like it had been rained on and the toppings were still cold. We got this for my birthday one year and it was just awful. One year later we tried it again and it was just as bad if not worse. I want to like this place as EVERYONE seems to think this place is the BOMB but our experiences here have made us frequent customers to Papa Johns...we just get extra sauce online for free and its a tremendous pizza. read more

We dined at Pizza Shack on 1/13/19. We ordered a half supreme/half buffalo chicken ranch. They brought out a half pepperoni/half buffalo chicken ranch. I informed our waitress about the situation. The cook came from the back, apologized, said he was going to box up the incorrect pizza for us to take home, and bring the correct one to our table. We waited an additional 30 minutes or so until the correct order arrived. A few minutes later a girl with Waitr came in. I watched our waitress give away the pizza that the cook boxed up to send home with us and gave it to Waitr. I waited a couple of minutes and walked up to the counter and asked about it and the waitress lied and said she threw it away. I also had to ask again about the cheese cake we ordered that we never received. Overall the service was bad but the cook in the back is to be commended for being super helpful to us. To make things worse, I posted this same review on their Facebook page and have gotten no response. read more

Nice little pizza dive in the Belhaven area. The pizza is so amazing, and it is especially fun to go when the weather is nice and you can sit outside. Ordered a pizza on Sunday at 6:50 after being given the estimate of 30 minutes I thought I was late when I showed up at 7:40. However, my pizza was not ready. Waited an additional 30 minutes and still no pizza. Manager was kind, but not helpful saying she had just put my pizza in. I had to leave with a refund that I apologized about receiving. Really good pizza. Local place so it does cost more than a chain place would. However they also have better quality ingredients than chain places. The carnivore is a meat lovers dream. Another must get is the pulled pork. It has a tangy BBQ sauce and some cheddar mixed with the mozzarella. Can take a while during rush hour meal times. read more

My daughter stated pick up order for Sharon. The lady at counter STATED she said Cheryl? bc their was a Cheryl in the "system" and called the order back. My child paid and left. I called Pizza Shack to let them know that I paid for an order that I didn't want. So the lady gave me her version of the mess up basically saying it's my child's fault that the order is wrong. Basically saying my child was on the phone and took Cheryl's order. First of all, my child STATED, pick up for Sharon. She knows my name, why would she tell you my name is Cheryl????? Then I check my child's call log. Who was she in the phone with...a ghost. Bc she didn't make a call. And when I say child, she's 14years old. Not a baby. This review is for the new Madison location. We were long time customers of the Old Canton Road location. We were at the Madison store on Sunday afternoon June 14th at 5:00 p.m. There were 3 tables occupied with customers waiting for their food when we arrived. We ordered our pizza, but no one working there seemed to have a clue what they were supposed to be doing. As we waited, it seemed that call in orders were taking precedent over the orders from the people in the store because no one there was getting their food. After waiting exactly one hour for our pizza, we were told they burned it and were going to cook another one. We requested our money back and left since the situation there seemed hopeless. The girl told us that maybe we should just go to the store on Fortication. Really. Well, one thing is for sure, we will never go the Madison store again.. read more

Yum. These pizzas are for the serious pizza lover. I'm a vegetable fan and ordered a personal size - Veggie Deluxe with mushroom, tomato, bell pepper, onion, and green & black olive. The box was hefty, to say the least. The pizza was hot on a medium deep crust and LOADED with vegetables. It was probably 3" thick. Two slices was a meal for me. We also got a BBQ pork pizza and a Greek pizza that had feta, olives, artichoke hearts, and gyro meat. These were different than anything I've had and delicious, as well. They do not skimp on the toppings and the taste is spot-on. The vibe is casual, so you can drop in any time. Pizza Shack is a local place, so if you are in Jackson, you need to try it! read more
