The servers are always gracious. In the old location I used to get a kick out of seeing the arms of the super-built, older (maybe 60s/70s age) owner flipping food through the kitchen window. It was the only part of him you could see, and I had no idea his age for months until he finally stepped out of the kitchen. Food was good, but a big mistake was made. No one at our table was drinking and a person who has been sober for 15 years ordered a mocha. After she had a couple drinks of it a staff member came to the table to replace it because instead of a mocha it was an alcoholic hot drink. The cups were pretty much identical. I went to this place all the time when I was younger. I always ordered the mickey pancakes with extra bacon. It's amazing. However, the staff act like they don't care, and it's always sticky in there. I got the orange juice along with the pancakes and it doesn't really taste like orange juice. Been meaning to come here for a while now, did so the other day. Came with my family for breakfast, there was five of us that morning. We had a decent breakfast and got a couple morning drinks as well, ran up a decent tab. Food wasnt bad, wasnt amazing, pretty standard breakfast food. The 1 star is for the crappy customer service. I ordered eggs benedict which usually comes with 2, and i had asked when i ordered if i could make that 3 eggs instead of 2 and have them just charge me the difference. Waitress said she would "make it happen" A few minutes later the waitress comes back to tell me that her manager had told her that they cant do that because it would waste half of an english muffin. I was a little annoyed but i let it go and told the waitress it was fine. A few minutes after that the manager comes out, which i didnt ask for, to try to justify her position on this to me. She herself reiterated that they would not fulfill my request, which i was willing to pay for, because they did not want to waste the 1 of the 2 halves of an english muffin. We probably spent over 150 bucks on breakfast and cocktails between the 5 of us, and they wouldnt let a half of an engish muffin go for us. I didnt want to cause a scene infront of my family, so i let it go, but it ruined my meal there and my opinion on the place and none of us will comeback because of this. It is Sunday morning at 9:30 am. I looked up best place for breakfast and found this place ( happens to named "The Place".) It said to get on the wait list and since I was about 20 minutes, I did just that. As I was literally turning my first aisle looking for a parking place I got the message "Your table is ready." Couldn't have been better! People were lined up in front of and around the sides of the building, waiting for seats. Note to self: check yelp, and call if there is a waiting list! Inside it was crowded. The help were all running around, and smiling. Breakfast serving were really large, so I decided to order a patty melt (on white bread, American cheese and well done, with hash browns instead of fries.) My drink was brought right away by Hannah, my server. About 10 minutes later my food came, as ordered, smelling and tasting great. To sum up: I am highly recommending this place for breakfast and lunch. They are not open for dinner. Check to see if you need to get on the waiting list, and once you sit down, prepare to have a great meal! Cost for lunch with a drink was $12.95, including tax. I am not a breakfast person, but the hubs is. Whenever he convinces me to wake up and go out for breakfast, I happily agree to go to The Place. (This says a TON, as I have a strong dislike of all things before 9:00am). The menu is wonderful, with plenty of not-traditional-breakfast choices for me, and I have yet to be disappointed or not enjoy my meal. I have always been pretty picky with food, (think boring & limited) but these guys have earned my trust and I've tried dishes I normally never would. Almost always with a very happy result, and those that weren't just weren't to my taste. For the hubs, he loves trying out their specials and it is hands down his favorite breakfast place in town. He couldn't wait to get there this morning for the first day after stay-at-home being reduced. (TBH, I'm a little miffed he didn't wake me up) The staff are amazing! Came here on 4/21 around 1pm. We were greeted by some workers and was told to sit at any table. The restaurant seemed almost empty. Only about 4 tables were occupied. We sat down at a booth and someone brought over our menus quickly and told us another server will be taking care of us. We waited around for a while for our server till she finally came and took our orders. I ordered country fried steak skillet and my partner had the polish skillet. The polish skillet was good but nothing great. My country fried steak tasted old (like days old). The texture was like chewing on rubber. I couldn't inform our waitress about it because she never checked on us. My partner were done eating and was given the bill. We waited over 10 minutes for her to return so we can pay to leave. The food is decent. I always have issues with my eggs being cooked wrong and they made them correctly. Everything tasted fine, nothing was mind blowing as far as the menu or flavors. However the service definitely was mind blowing, and not in a good way at all. We waited to be greeted once we were sat and when the drinks finally came, our server, David R, had forgot one for our table but that could be due to him also having three other tables drink orders on his tray. He dropped all of the drinks off at their tables and proceeded to take orders- not in the order that the tables were sat though. Our order was taken, he assured us it would be submitted and he would be back with that missing drink. He dropped the drink off, someone else was running food and dropped our food off. David checked on us immediately after the food was dropped off and not again except to drop off the check. When asked about how to pay, since it was our first time in, he said he could take it up front but it would be better to just go upfront ourselves and then he left. We needed boxes and had to call him back to the table to get them. The girl up front that cashed us out also didn't care to ask how things were. We've always loved The Place but not today. It took over 30 minutes to get our food and it was barely warm when it arrived. In fact my eggs were cold. It was another 5 minutes before our kids got their food. No one was refilling coffee and I had to ask for more when we finally got our food. Homestyle meals with that family atmosphere. I grew up in a small single highway town with no on ramps where everyone knows everyone. This place is a little slice of that sort of peaceful tucked in Phoenix. I always get a bit nervous taking my year and a half old son out for a meal. If you want a place that puts the milk directly into the sippy for you, this is hands down as close as you will get to that family breakfast feeling. The staff was incredible with my son and they didn't put pressure on the meal. The food came out hot, seasoned and in abundance which is always a nice feeling when I want a slow meal with the munchkin. I went with the biscuits and gravy that, as you can see was beautiful. But what I loved most was the extra mile gone to give my son a memorable meal! But it was nice to walk in, sit down, take our time and feel like we were home. read more

Honestly used to love this place. The biscuits and gravy were mouth watering, and so full of flavor. Seriously their potatoes were similar to fresh diced potatoes... Seriously took me back to home cooking, but without the mess hahaha. More recently, and I don't mean just the past few months, I have noticed as not only the food quality decline but also the customer service aswell.
