    High Tea

The food and vibes are immaculate here. I have been to the once monthly High Tea twice now and it is AMAZING. We are not a vegan or even vegetarian family and I want to assure people that the food was superb. Wish I could order those tea sandwiches during the regular lunch menu they are so crave worthy

The ambiance of the cafe is perfect. So whimsical and cozy. I've been a couple of times and everything I've tried has been so good.

The owner is so nice, the decor and menu look amazing! I can't wait to go back and try more! I had the mushroom poboy and a great recommended glass of wine!

Finally tried the Plantry Cafe! Beautiful restaurant. Worth going just for that alone. Very cozy! We were greeted and sat immediately. The waiters were very knowledgeable of the menu. Standouts mushroom scallops! I wish this was a main course. The beet salad is also very good. Also recommend the roasted maitake. Curious to try other dishes as well so I'll have to return. The owner of the restaurant was kind and greeted all patrons. And of course get the TEA!!

Such a well thought interior and menu- I love the seasonal rotations and truly delicious way to eat healthy. They also do a monthly high tea which is so much fun! Definitely a one of a kind place in Baton Rouge. The vegan cheesecakes, buffalo cauliflower burger, and tofu banh mi are my favorites.

Where do I start. I came here on Valentine's Day for a birthday party. We started ordering at 6:41pm. It was Valentines so the entire restaurant could only order a three or six course meal of the same thing. We received our first course at 7:41pm our second course at 8:50pm and the dessert at 10:17pm. This place closes at 10pm!!! I have pictures to prove all of this. Our waiters started ignoring us after the first course. We received horrible service while everyone else was served their food and left accordingly. And I have never faced such racism in Baton Rouge and I have lived here my entire life. We spent over $900 and was charged for "changing seats" when we had the same number of people when we sat down at 6:41pm. The manager or owner of this establishment was unaccountable and said rude remarks without helping us. She said and I quote "Come on Valentines Day if you want any entertainment", rolled her eyes, mumbled under her breath and everything! Instead of helping us they, she told the staff to clean up and left us with the bill. She treated us like the bottom of her shoe while no other group got this treatment. She didn't even want to discuss the extra charges on our ticket. We planned on paying for our food regardless of taste because this was our friends birthday but they lied about the dessert and said it would be right out around 9:30pm and we didn't receive it until 10:40pm. The cake we received was not listed on their website and it was not what everyone else had at the restaurant. The manger did not tell us until we received the pie and saw it was not what we were supposed to receive. The manger even had an older male serve us the left over pie instead of serving it herself or had our original waiter serve it to us. Mine you the cheesecake we saw everyone else have was what was listed and what we were looking forward to but didn't get. They waiting until 10pm to say they ran out of the dessert. I just feel as though we were completely disrespected because (and I hate to say this) we were young black adults. I do not recommend this PLACE to anyone!!! Black or White. It was a horrible experience and the manger had no heart and did not care to address her own faults and the faults of her restaurant.

    Polenta Maitake and Jackfruit Sliders

Very elegantly decorated restaurant, friendly attentive servers, delicious food and wine. The menu changes regularly, but if you can, try the Polenta Maitake and the Jackfruit Sliders! The owner even came by to suggest the wine that would pair best with the polenta dish. Perfect! Don't let the fact it is plant-based fool you. This food is so amazing, even my omnivore boyfriend wants to make it a regular date night.

All I can say is WOW. Ive recently been diving into the vegan realm, and have been wanting to try out this spot for several months. Finally got the chance to make it happen. This place is absolutely gorgeous, immaculately designed with a beautiful bar and gorgeous furnishings. The bar menu looked exquisite, I will definitely be returning to try more cocktails. We had the brussels sprouts appetizer as well as the cauliflower poppers. Both fantastic! Cauliflower is on the spicy side in a delicious buffalo type sauce. I had a large bowl of soup and a salad for my entrée, both were divine. The salad had so much great stuff on it including some absolutely delicious vegan cheese. One of the best salads I've ever had. We also had one of the Mitaki mushroom, and this thing tasted just like a juicy portobello. Similar to steak consistency, hearty and filling. Perfectly prepared. The owner/chef came out to chat with us at the end of dinner, and she absolutely has done an amazing job with this spot. Was hoping to go to the tasting party this evening, but I could not make it. Cannot wait to go back and try more things on the menu!

I have a new addiction... this place. It's so chic, eclectic, and the ambiance is spectacular. I picked up a to-go order, and let me tell you, this was the most exquisite to-go order I've ever gotten. It was packaged so nicely without extra wasteful packaging. Loved the menu and bag it came it. The food presentation itself was impressive. My server was very quick to help bring me my to go order. She was very pleasant along with the other staff. There is nothing like this restaurant ambiance in Baton Rouge. Seems like something you would stumble across in NYC or Dallas. I practice vegan eating during the week and incorporate meat on the weekends. The BBQ Jackfruit tastes just like the real thing!!!!! The pretzel bun was so fresh and tender. Loved the Brussel sprouts with aioli sauce. If you're not vegan that's okay, because you will love the flavors and options. I felt so satisfied after eating and it's good knowing I can stay on my vegan diet during the week, which has been shown to have a variety of health benefits. Looking forward to my next visit which will be for dinner. I definitely recommend this place to everyone I know.

(Visiting from out of town). Expected a wait, 20 minutes, no problem! Another 15 to place our order, and another 25 to receive our food. We were there over an hour before we got any food. Ooffff... it's fine. We're laid back and can roll with the punches-they're busy and staff was friendly-it'll all be worth it when the food rocks our socks. Sadly...no. Both grilled cheeses (entrees) were room temp and the cheese was already hardening. It felt as if they had forgotten to deliver the food. Waitress was so kind and took the one off our check. It was appreciated. Boudin balls were great!! Bedford and remoulade sauces were okay. Parmesan potatoes were good!! Brussel sprouts and fries were fine-would have been better if served hot, I think. We did the pie flight and they were all good. Not mind blowing, but good. I always give out second chances-public service and food service is tough and sometimes you just have off days. Worth checking out if you live in town!! But if you're just passing through, maybe just get some pie to go.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with stellar customer service that set the tone for our entire experience. Our waiter, Justice, was truly delightful. The entire staff working on Saturday, April 4 was top notch. Everyone we encountered was warm, helpful and professional. From the food and drinks to the atmosphere and overall service, everything exceeded our expectations. I can say this was a 5 Star Brunch experience. We specifically found this restaurant because we searched online for gluten free restaurants, so we were excited to see that you offered a separate gluten free menu. However, there are some serious issues with the accuracy of that menu that need to be addressed. When we asked about the pork rinds brought to the table, we were told they are fried in the same oil as everything else. That in itself is your choice as a restaurant, and we understand cross contamination can happen. We were also told the french fries are cooked in beef tallow in a separate fryer, but they are not considered gluten free, which is why they are not listed on the gluten free menu. Again, that is completely understandable. What is not acceptable is having items listed on the gluten free menu that are not actually gluten free due to cross contamination. The pork rinds and cheddar filled tater tots were both listed on the gluten free menu despite being fried in shared oil with gluten containing foods. For someone with celiac disease, this is not a small mistake or a dietary preference issue. My husband has celiac disease, and if he had eaten the pork rinds based on trusting the gluten free menu, he could have become extremely ill and potentially needed hospital care. Our daughter has gluten sensitivity, and she would have been sick for the rest of the night as well. Many people still treat gluten free as if it is just a fad diet, but for people with celiac disease, it is a serious autoimmune condition that causes real physical harm. To the OWNER: please educate your staff and kitchen on what gluten free truly means, and update the menu so customers can trust it. People with celiac disease should not have to risk getting sick because menu items are mislabeled.

Apparently, they have an annual limited fixed-price menu ($48) with excellent options over three courses. Unfortunately that option was not available when we dined here in early November. So we went for the pimento cheese balls and I ordered the soup de jour which was a butternut squash bisque. Both items were savory and delicious. The pimento cheese balls is fried and served over some hibiscus pepper jelly which gives a nice sweet kick to the creaminess of the cheese. The bisque is creamy and has a nutty squash punch. We loved both very much! For entrees, I debated between the pork chop and sous vide rabbit. I went with the rabbit since I never had rabbit before (weird right?) and I'm glad I went with it. The rabbit has a nice crispy texture with a gamey taste yet the meat was quite tender when cutting into it. The apple chutney compliments the rabbit well and the butternut squash side and purple cabbage garnish make it a well-rounded dish. My friend/coworker ordered the grilled gulf fish which comes with a creamy risotto. The fish is super tender and pairs well with the risotto with an olive oil finish. We were both satisfyingly stuffed from our meal although we wish we saved room for dessert. Definitely next time! They have an extensive wine and cocktail list. The Strawberry Oaxacan is a favorite along with the Kiwi Daquiri due to the exotic fruit flavors. Sadly I couldn't snap any pictures as I was caught up in sipping my Century Oak Zinfandel. I'm glad they have a Red Zinfandel which is my preferred wine of choice as it's easy to sip and not as full-bodied. Gotta give my friend props for bringing me here. We're already talking about coming here again next time I have an assignment in Baton Rouge. I can't wait!
