Jenny surpassed our expectations for our wedding this past Saturday in all ways possible. When I first reached out to her regarding our wedding decor and rentals, she was very responsive and willing to send an invoice proposal - altering it as needed to help get it in line with our budget. She also took the initiative to reach out to other vendors to bring down some of the rental costs for linens, chairs, etc. I gave Jenny a few inspo pics and she completely blew it out of the water with the florals and decor. When I say that Jenny hit the ball out of the park with my vision for our wedding, that would be a complete understatement. Jenny is straightforward and easy to work with, and once we signed our final contract, we had little need to speak with her because we knew she would have everything handled (and she was already in communication with our amazing coordinator, Events by Tejal). My wedding planner (The Marigold company) referred Jenny to me for my wedding decor. Jenny handled the entire decor and flowers for both my events (wedding and pre-event) and everything was exactly like I had envisioned. She delivered everything that I asked for in terms of decor for both my events. Our wedding involved 2 ceremonies - traditional Hindu ceremony and western American ceremony, so I wanted to keep the decor for the two ceremonies a little different yet I wanted them to still tie together. Everything turned out absolutely beautiful. The decor for the Sangeet night was also beautiful and different from the wedding day decor. Jenny was hands down my fav vendor from our wedding! She helped come up with a proposal that fit our budget and executed it to perfection. Our stage decor was minimal but vibrant. Our photos came out looking so epic. In fact, our guests even pointed out that the decor was outstanding. Considering we had a very traditional Indian wedding at the Malibu Hindu temple, I was wary of hiring a non-Indian vendor but Jenny set up our venue so aesthetically and took into consideration every finesse of a South Indian wedding. Upon getting engaged to my partner-in-crime during the holiday season of 2011, I initially chose to forgo the traditional floral projects that go hand-in-hand with weddings. I'm not your typical girly-girl (my now-husband knows he'll earn more points picking up a succulent or a funky air plant on special occasions versus a dozen long-stem roses). I thought that all I really needed was a few bouquets of dried lavender, potted succulents for our guests as favors, and we could call it a day. But as the date drew nearer, an incredibly crafty girlfriend of mine, Becky Anderson, and her sweetheart of a business partner, Jenny Brayer, announced that they were embarking on their own new life adventure: The Poppy Studio. The ladies held my hand during the final walk-through of our venue, taking note of things I never would have noticed on my own, choosing places they knew would really come alive with floral accents. One simple sit-down meeting later, and me, the girl who had refused floral arrangements up-and-down, was hooked. And thus, our wedding became the first on their journey, though you never would have guessed it peering at the storybook floral pieces they crafted for us. I've never seen (nor do I think I will ever see again) magic bursting from bouquets, centerpieces, boutonnieres, and corsages quite the way it did that day. The only vision I had had in my head was a shabby-chic, rustic, ranch wedding ( hopefully incorporating the cruelty-free feathers I had been collecting for months). But the result was astounding: garden roses, ranunculus, dusty miller, fever few, thistle, succulents, cruelty-free feathers, lavender... bright bursts of color mingling with neutral tones. We recently hired Becky and Jenny to take care of the flowers for our wedding. They provided us with great ideas and some help because we were unsure about what we wanted for the venue. We told them some of the things we liked and some of the ones we wanted included (mini cacti) and used those ideas to create beautiful center pieces. We also told them what we liked and what not and they were able to create a beautiful bridal bouquet and flowers for all individuals participating in the ceremony. They were early dropping off the flowers and the set up for at the venue was also smooth. Although we did not give them much direction they were able to bring our ideas to life with the flowers. The only thing that did not make this the perfect experience is that sometimes they took a little longer to respond to emails. read more

I had to figure out colors through pintrest and when I did...I let them know and they ended up making the most beautiful bouquets. I loved their creative direction and trusted them completely. I even recommended them to my friend who needed flowers for a baby shower and she loved them as well. My now husband got me an anti Valentine's day arrangement from them and though it's wilted and a bit dried up since we're in March...they are still sitting on the bar cart and I have to smile. I was happy to be a groomsman at one of my best friends wedding and got to wear one of the coolest boutineers I've ever seen. Rather then the traditional single flower my boutineer was an amazing naturally hued purple/blue/green artichoke or thistle flower top with a splash of muted tiny flowers and greens. It matched my partners dress perfectly....you could tell much creative skill was put into matching the entire wedding party in both color and personality - plus the combination of unique flowers and colors was a perfect understated and elegant compliment to a wonderful ceremony Both my friends photographer and florists were so good that I had to get business cards...and I don't plan on getting married! read more

he Poppy Studio provided all the florals for my daughter's wedding in Malibu CA. We initially found them on Craig's List and were a bit nervous that they were new in the business. They didn't have any reviews but after talking to them, they sounded like they understood what we were looking for. They were prompt with responses to messages and were anxious for the work. With a leap of faith, we hired them to do this component of the wedding. The flowers were almost the most important thing to my daughter and I . I will start by saying that Jenny and Becky aren't warm and fuzzy, they are business like and direct. This threw me a little as I am a people person and enjoy establishing a warm rapport with people I interact with. Do not let this deter you, their work is awesome, that's just their style, Just as a a frame of reference for everyone reading this, our budget was $4,000 for flowers. We had 18 tables with large wooden boxes full of flowers plus footed crystal containers with arrangements, a gorgeous sweetheart swag, bridal bouquet ,personals for 8 bridesmaids, 8 groomsmen, 2 small bouquets for the moms, a few small arrangements for the cocktail tables, and flowers in antique bottles. We were so thrilled to walk out the door and see the impact they made on the venue. We were at the venue all morning and watched the transformation. ( she sees at least two weddings a weekend in season) We so loved the florals that we couldn't let them go! We took a few succulents out of the arrangements and bouquets and brought them back to New Jersey with us. They are now potted and doing wonderfully, what a great way to remember the blessed day! I was completely blown away by all of the flowers on my wedding day. These girls obliterated my expectations, and as soon as I saw the flowers for my big day, my eyes filled with tears. They were PERFECT. Jenny and Becky did an excellent job of picking up on my likes and dislikes, and came up with the most spectacular arrangements, boutineers, and bouquets.
